Nice store. Alot of things for parents to show Minnesota pride. Very helpful staff. Only 1 sweatshirt I wanted that was only left in 2XL. Worker scanned it, checked storage locations, unfortunately out of stock but informed me when to get it online.

I wish there was a bigger selection of hats! I know there are more online, but Id love to see a wider variety (of all merch) in the store. ❤ Otherwise its a very pleasant place.

I was an employee of this swag spot, the least said about the staff, the better. Since I am disabled. And also have the million dollar haggard look, was asked to go home, just because of my disability, I cannot stand erect, or breathe with ease, with a mask on, I really faced, white fundamentalists, the anti h1b lobby lives here, I have avoided this store. Pre-ordered an Academic Stole for 2021 Graduation. Have yet to receive the item and I graduated this week without it. I never received any notice of this late order, and when I called I was told the item would be delivered late June due to backorder. I have attended this University for 3 years and I am incredibly disappointed in the Bookstores ordering process for graduating items.

Great big fun place to go show support for this great university. it had evening you can think of even makeup! Little kid clothes, kid books, books for everyone. I could have spent many hours in there! Its awesome and they have a great clearance section! yippee every woman loves a clearance section! I got a fabulous jersey nice and thick for 30 bucks that WAS 70.00....woop woop... plus another long sleeved shirt. love it there and I cant wait to go back!!

Staff have been kind and helpful in my experience. Im happy with the selection of books and supplies here, although you can probably find a better price on many items elsewhere. It can be really busy at the start and end of the semester when everyone is scrambling to buy and return/sell textbooks.

I have never had any issues with any of the staff, they are very helpful in finding what books I need. There is also plenty of affordable supplies from pencils Apple products, and the Minnesota Golden Gopher clothing and swag is off the hook!

The University bookstore is designed to profit off of vulnerable students. Facing rising book costs, the Bookstore does not offer competitive prices on any item. The textbook purchases and rentals are way overpriced, especially compared to other rental services and bookstores.The first bad experience I had here was the return process on a rental textbook. The line was long, and the attitude toward us from employees and management were less then appealing. The textbook return was limited to one checkout counter, even though no other counter on the store had a line. The people returning the books were rude, and I overheard the manager talking about us in a disrespectful manner.I will not give this bookstore as much business as possible, outside of the apparent monopoly on some course materials. The University should restructure this venture as a bookstore that offers students affordability and convenience, as well as basic respect.

We took a tour, and were told that this is one of the largest university bookstores in the US. We were there on a big football Saturday, and found they were more than capable of handling the crowd. UM Bookstore certainly impressed our family. Great job UM Bookstore!

This is a great university bookstore, probably one of the best Ive ever been to. It is very big and has a large selection of clothes, lanyards, etc, but also a big selection of books. The staff is also super friendly.

The prices are not that great for a lot of things here, but they arent too bad most of the time. I usually get my textbooks here since there usually are only a few places at most where I can find much better prices. Also, while they definitely dont charge low prices on their electronics, it seems the brands they buy from are almost always high quality brands, such as Dell, Apple and Microsoft for laptops and many accessories. The selection of books is pretty good, and they have a large variety of school supplies. It isnt too hard for students to get deals here too.

I am a new transfer student at the university and I had a pretty good experience using the bookstore for the first time, I found the book I needed pretty quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful. Be aware though........ they will not let you rent books without an active U card.

My favorite part of the bookstore is going to the fiction section and checking the review notes the staff writes for 10 different books. I use it to guide my next book purchase. Their suggestions are always super interesting!

It can get pricey on the school sup ppl lies but hey you really needed that school gear you know? School spirits! Other than the price, the customer service are great! The students and staffs that works there are very friendly! Always know what they are doing and majority of the products are in good hand. Cleanliness is great too! A plus for being close to Starbucks!

They had a lot of clothes, but they didnt have any armor, such as foot all helmets. Also, their tech department didnt know anything about the PS5. But, they did have a lot of books.

I love this place! But even though I was the only one checking out and three extra people were behind the desk, my cashier was extremely slow and distracted. She had to find a t-shirt with the right scan number as mine was cut off or incomplete. No sense of efficiency and no assist from others. I was very late to my continuing education class.

Recently placed an order for a gift for a high school grad going to the U and the service I was provided was personalized and very quick... was in great hands with the service provided by Alexis, specifically!

I visited the technology area. They were helpful and provided useful information on the computers available.

Zeroes across the board. Like I said, save yourself the money and buy the books online. These people care more about making a quick buck off of students rather than actually providing a service. Avoid them at all costs.

Well... its a Goldy Gopher store with various selection of different views and standard books.... nice staffing.... I would however use every sq ft ....

This place is staffed with some of the least motivated and least helpful people I have ever encountered. Questions were met with dull expressions and thinly veiled disgust for having been asked to do their job.The selection of notebooks is also frustrating, as they dont have plain spiral graph notebooks. You would think they would have something that common.On the bookstore (non textbook) side, things are better, though the people working there clearly dont care about their jobs or actually helping anyone. They have a good selection though, and everything is aesthetically pleasing.

Feel like almost everything here is overpriced except for in their big sales. If youre going to buy something, wait until the big clearance sales they do in front of Coffman for the previous year stuff, everything else is kind of a rip off. Also, never buy their books unless you have to, it is very likely cheaper on Amazon.

Good quality and plenty of help. Good prices on class supplies (i.e., notebooks and such) but overpriced textbooks and clothing.

Its always clean, workers are friendly, and theres a lot of books, supplies, apparel, and other things in general. A very large place, and a great selection of everything. A little pricey for some supplies like notebooks, but thats expected.

Gotta love how theyll refuse to buy back a textbook that has any sort of minor damage even of it doesnt get in the way of using the book (say a stain at the bottom of a textbook thats below any text and doesnt impair being able to read it. Or a paperback textbook where the corner of the cover/first few pages is SLIGHTLY bent but in no way prevents the book from being used) but then go ahead and give you a rental that has half the pages stuck together/torn/falling out and has water damage...and then refuse to take it back because of the water damage and make you buy the book youll never be able to use again or sell. The kicker is when you didnt even get to choose your book because you ordered online, so you know somebody at the store picked up the visibly damaged book and put it in your bag for you to take home.I rented from the bookstore against my better judgement because it was cheaper than getting it online. With having to buy the now useless to me textbook, I ended up paying double.Moral of the story, never get a book from the bookstore unless you want to keep it.Edit: just for fun I decided to add a picture of the book they refuse to took with the full extent of the damage versus the rental they made me pay for showing some of the damage the book had when I got it. That triple checking sure was useful.

Extremely disrespectful employees and terrible quality books. This is classic exploitation of students-- when I attempted to return textbooks this semester, I was told that the pre-existing damage was my fault.Aside from being called a liar and being forced to pay for damage that I was not responsible for, the kicker was that I was told I should have alerted store staff to the poor quality of my books at the beginning of the semester. As if it was unreasonable of me to expect that if a product is rented to me in a certain condition it could be returned in that condition.Unless there is some actual resolution to this (and I doubt there will be, looking at how terrible the customer service experience there was) I cannot justify ever going to this store ever again.

Decent selection of U of M everything and anything. Did seem a little cluttered and unorganized in the apparel section. Eventually just chose a few items as gifts and moved on. The book side is very well organized and things seemed easy to find.

Aside from the obvious, their gift selection is amazing. Unique gifts for last minute shopping.

All the merch you could want...textbooks harder to get than they should be. Also pretty hard to get to, for a first timer. And in response to the owner, I did order my books online, I eventually found the online purchase section, and was met by totally clueless employees. My order was there, but I had never received a confirmation email. Sooo...the online system didnt fix things. Ive taught at 3 universities and attended two others. Its not like Ive never met a college bookstore before. I just havent encountered one thats such a drag, unless you want everything that could possibly say gopher on it.

Workers are rude and its overpriced. buy your books from other ppl over craigslist and make your own merch. itll be better than anything theyre charging you 60$ for.

Umn bookstore is like a mini mall for college students. You can find almost every academic related things over here. Service is also really good.

Unpleasant scam hub for desperate students to reinvent themselves as broke. No return policy? 16 bucks for a notepad? They tried to charge me full price for a rented textbook I returned after their guillotine deadline. They charge shoplifters double price before turning them over to the police. Employees are strangely unhelpful and prices are higher than trumps wall.
