This is a fine co-op with a large selection of groceries and personal care products, much of which are organic and otherwise produced with attention to ethical impact. Im too far away to visit very often, but try to go when I can to help support and enjoy the selection. Definitely worth a visit!

I was approached by a patron and his wife who accused me of saying derogatory things about a specific religion. I backed away as this man was tall and puffing his chest out at me. He kept approaching me and threatened to call the police. He kicked me in the shin and my bicycle pannier. I have never seen this man before in my life.Pretty ironic that this place embraces diversity and equality yet patrons will accuse and use violence on random strangers.

Great, smaller grocery store. They do have curbside pickup and delivery. I like their bulk spice and dry goods section. They have a diverse selection of cheeses, both local and international. They have a small butcher shop with wild fish and pasture raised beef, pork, chicken, and lamb. I can find most things my family needs here. They also have my favorite sparkling water brand, Topo Chico. I cant find it anywhere else in the Twin Cities besides here.

Eastside might be my favourite co-op in the Twin Cities and thats saying something because I go to The Wedge and Seward and Linden Hills all the time too. If nothing else, Eastside Co-op has the BEST cheese curds and string cheese in their dairy department (hint: look for the garlic and dill ones!) The staff is friendly, the store is laid out well, great sandwiches and smoothies... you get the idea!

Ive been a coop owner here for a few years now with my partner. Even though we dont live within walking distance anymore, we frequently go back in order to restock on essentials and pick up harder to find items. If you need bulk items, or more specialty ingredients, this is a wonderful place to look. If youre looking for sustainable options, this is a great place to go as well.

Uncomfortable experience. Went to co-op and checked out and cashier didnt even greet me. He then processed to not ask if I was a member and asked if I wanted a bag. To clarify the person in front of me was greeted, asked if they were a member AND someone bagged their groceries. They were white and I am not. I feel like I was treated differently due to the color of my skin. I do not feel comfortable going here anymore. People of color think twice.

My daughter and I got takeout for dinner. My daughter had mushroom tacos and a carnitas taco (if I remember correctly); I had a chicken burrito. The tacos (even though they had double shells) fell apart after the first bite, right down the middle. I’m guessing they did not heat the soft corn shells because they literally disintegrated before they were halfway done. The fillings were ok but underwhelming. My chicken burrito was pretty good, but one whole side was bland chicken and rice, so only half my bites contained sauce and were super flavorful. That said, I did enjoy it. But those tacos were a bummer.

Review №49

Great produce, friendly staff, and a good selection of health and beauty products.I’ve given this place one star due to their unsafe COVID-19 practices. While they do have some smart policies such as a capacity limit and mandatory mask wear, how masks are worn and what qualifies as a mask at this store is consistently out of line with state and federal guidelines. I reached this conclusion after frequenting this store over a 9 month period.Numerous people including a few staff members wear face shields instead of face masks, a practice that the CDC states does not prevent or mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Face shields are only useful to the wearer, and only when used in conjunction with an appropriate face mask and should not be used in place of one. Additionally, wearing loose fitting masks and wearing masks below the nose seem to be tolerable practices at this store. While it is unfortunate that these unsafe practices have been allowed to persist, I’m hopeful this co-op will take the time to review their policies and bring them in line with the guidelines presented by the state of Minnesota and the Center for Disease Control. When that happens, I’ll be happy to restore my review to a higher rating.

We absolutely love this grocery store. I used to avoid co-ops because I thought you had to be a member to shop there — that’s just not the case! The employees are wonderful, incredibly helpful, and seem like they genuinely enjoy their jobs. (I feel like this isn’t the case at most chain grocery stores.) A couple of the staffs can be a bit judgey and less friendly if youre a foreigner, but dont let that ruin your shopping experience. (Though Im gonna knock a star off because of that). The handmade soap selection is fantastic, smells great and is gentle on your skin, especially love how its package free. You can also get great deals with a co-op members card.
