I love it! However, one day last week, my coffee. (Hot pollinator), was 2/3 full. Odd, as Ive not experienced that at 5W, on prior visits.
Got the Pollinater iced, was delicious. Came out quick. Happy I swung by during Open Streets Lyndale, will have to hit up the one in north east for some more of their amazing blends.
I really enjoy the new wave vibe at this coffeeshop. The Big Easy is my new go to drink. So good.
Had the displeasure of visiting between 1-2pm on a Tuesday, not really a super busy time I’d say! The barista was curt and better suited for a dive bar or the local DMV than a friendly neighborhood cafe. I am visiting from out of state but I can’t remember being this uncomfortable at a cafe ever and it definitely colored my drink experience. Coffee was good though and I’ll be checking out the place again albeit at a different time.
All of their unique drinks are delicious, dairy free friendly too. Their flavor combos are unmatched.
07/21/2019 I scheduled to meet a friend who had created a piece of art for me. Having never been here I was excited to go to a new Mpls coffee emporium. The atmosphere is very calm & the staff are exceptional.(Shout out to Lydia!) I ordered a delicious cold press coffee & a blueberry scone. I actually ran into 3 acquaintances during my visit! I would highly suggest this comfortable shop for visiting with friends or getting work done.
This cafe has a nice vibe to chill and They have amazon hub locker. Super convenient. When it comes to coffee, I have only tried their coffee beans and would give 4/5 for their store blend. it was unique but not attractive to my taste buds.
What a gem. Their coffees are like artisanal cocktails--really interesting mixes of flavors. I had a matcha with basil syrup and fennel bitters. A unique and delicious combo. Order in a ceramic mug and enjoy the experience. P.S. The staff is warm and kind.
This is such an excellent local coffee shop! I look forward to going again someday soon.
A neighborhood asset. Good coffee, good places to sit, and plenty of daylight.
I love this place great location near Church I Attend services
Great start to my morning, Missy you’re awesome :)
Great coffee and people! Check out the taco joint in the same building. Homemade goodness!
Heaven is a place on Earth and it is found in the cup of any drink from Five Watt, especially this one. Friendly staff, always changing music based on who the barista is, and they get to know their regulars...while being just as awesome to newcomers and single-time guests. I absolutely love this place.
Really liked their COVID-19 protocols! I got the Busy Beaver and it was delicious, I would definitely get it again and again. My husband got the Big Easy and wasn’t a fan of the Black Walnut Bitters, but that’s his personal taste. We will for sure be back!
Love Five Watt and their coffee. This location is clean with lots of socially distanced seating options. My only complaint is that I just tried calling to ask if they sell mugs or reusable cups with their logo so that I could buy for a gift, and Brian (or someone of a similar sounding name) answered and when I tried asking my question he interrupted and said “stop calling me at work” and hung up. Very rude and unfortunate customer service experience. Hopefully they will take all of their customers and their inquiries seriously.
I was a frequent visitor of the Nicollet location and was so happy to see this new location open! Same great drinks and very friendly staff. Love the seating spaces both inside and out!
Really fun specialty coffee drinks, I specifically loved the chai-der. There was pretty good outdoor seating and friendly staff.
Nice atmosphere, but the cappuccino I ordered was miniscule, like a half full pixie cup, with so little milk it tasted more like mud than cappuccino.
I tried their flavored espresso shots and now they’re my inspiration for my homemade flavored espresso shots.Thank you for letting be able to see sounds whenever I need to now 😂😍
The coffee is the best taste good
Amazing pastry nummys and hot coffee, what more could you want😁 and pet friendly
Staff are not friendly. Suggest going to a different location.
Great coffee and staff
I walk in preoccupied with something and didnt yet have my face mask on. The barista immediately chastises me on entry with the comment you should know by now to have your face mask on. Coffee was ok. Wont be back.
A solid, ~spicy~ miel 👍
Love Five Watt, best beans in town. Headliner is my favorite.
Great coffee, nice, quiet location that is not off the beaten path.
Amazing coffee and fun variety! The Pollinator with oat milk is my new obsession!
Unique drinks and very tasty!!
Excellent staff and fantastic coffee menu. Unique and tasty coffee drinks. Far more exciting than another latte joint.
All the baristas here are so nice. Drinks are tasty too. I’d highly recommend the 1994 Boyz. The other locations are excellent as well.
Came in to a great smile and conservation while waiting for my coffee by an employee name Halia... They have really good customer service even through this terrible pandemic were having in #2020!!!!
Probably the best coffee shop Ive been to in a long time. Amazingly delicious and unique drinks. Good atmosphere. Friendly and welcoming staff. Definitely coming back as often as I can.
Best coffee. Best staff. I love this place.
Delicious coffee!
Great coffee and I love that they support local artists/podcasts. The local art on the walls is fantastic! It’s an eclectic coffee shop with a friendly staff, too. A must-see place if you are visiting the Twin Cities. Yes, you have to visit!
Let me use the bathroom. Good coffee. Also random guy gave me his pastry
Once again, Five Watt wows and delights! The best part is the super kind staff. I am glad to see another location open up. My husbands coffee was rich, and my iced London Fog drink was delicious. It had fennel and coriander in it! They are so creative with their flavors. The space is both spacious and cozy at the same time, and very clean. What a great place to come and spend time with your family (like us) or get some work/reading done.
Super fast wifi. Great staff. Impeccable brew.
The people here are friendly and fast.
Excellent. Highly recommended
Comfortable and cozy space to enjoy a coffee! :D
Coffee was nice. Friendly staff, cozy space. Music was always on point. This place really stands out-- great job.
Great little local coffee shop. I would always recommend people support your local business owners over the Mega chain stores that reinvested nothing in the community
We love this coffee shop. Excellent customer service, very friendly staff. Great coffee and tea drinks. Cant recommend high enough.
Excellent coffee, friendly staff, and great atmosphere make this 5 Watt location worthwhile. Be sure to take advantage of the super fast wifi, and head to Sonnys across the street for summertime scoops. Only improvement: parking.
Delicious coffee and wonderful baristas!
Awesome coffee.
Friendly staff and really good coffee!
Caleb and the Five Watt crew consistently deliver the best coffee drinks in town.
My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Staff always friendly. Good coffee, good pastries, baked goods, toast, etc.
An enjoyable neighborhood spot to have a lovely cup of coffee and chat with a friend.
Five Watt is both the most original and best coffee around. Each location has a unique menu of drinks done with the style of craft cocktails, based on coffee. Go to them all.
I went here because it was recommended on a national list as something special, it was ok. No light roast on day I went. Service 👍
Chai latte and chocolate croissant were great. Great Service as well.
Coffee is good, selection of foods is very limited and prices are a bit high, but overall would recommend.
Good coffee and a great atmosphere. A fun place to hang out or get work done.
Updated: 11.13.19 (Tl;dr Thank you Caleb! You were the one interaction that made a good impression on me and I appreciated your authenticity.)I do not usually write reviews for anything, but a friend explained to me that owners of small businesses appreciate thoughtful feedback when customers are unhappy. I composed the below review. After posting, I walked away feeling kind of uncomfortable about it. Then I second guessed my submission because I forgot to point out that one employee out of the 4-5 that were behind the counter that day was kind to me and genuine in their interaction.Caleb has replied to my initial review and I wanted to take the time to tell you that I really appreciated your kindness in that situation. Your gregariousness and kindness to your fellow co-workers was palpable and I felt sincere authenticity from our short interaction. So thank you for reaching out. Thank you for taking the time to respond, and thank you for being a kind person during my transaction at Five Watt Lyndale. Hope to come in again to check out that cool Live music setup yall have!---(Original Post)I am submitting a tentative 2 stars—you get one more chance. I was very enthusiastic about this location. It’s beautiful. Had never been to this particular location. The person behind the counter did not make eye contact with me. Asked, something indiscernible—maybe something like “help you?” Tried to make small talk about how lovely this new space was. There was no line behind me. There were no customers but me being served. Interaction was terse. I ordered a coffee with a shot of espresso. “Out of coffee” the person exclaims. I have already paid for my coffee and given a 20% tip. “Can we just make you an Americano?” I agreed because, well, I guess I need to be more assertive—but I did not pay for an americano. I was not offered an apology. I walked away feeling very unwelcome in this space. Coffee is good. It’s buttery and smooth, chocolate notes. It’s excellent but I can get great coffee elsewhere where the culture matches the experience of the product and I feel welcomed and valued as a person.
Didnt think it could get better than Vicinity (the coffee shop this one replaced), but they found a way.Making my annoying specialty drink ON ICE PLEASE WITH SUGAR PLEASE NO NO BUT PUT IT IN WITH THE GROUNDS PLEASE like the team of CHAMPS they are. Also the internet is real good here.
Very much a great place for the uptown community coffee specialty drinks friendly staff Nice
Good coffee but way too expensive. You pay less in San Francisco, LA and New York for the same stuff. Staff is kinda boring but good baristas otherwise. I miss the old Bullrun and prefer the Nicollet location.
Nice study spot. Good chai latte, would recommend
Fast, clean, and different! Havent had a thing that I dont like from any location!
Its fine. I liked the menu better when it was Vincinty. But its fine.
Love the new space! The drinks are amazing as always but keeping my fingers crossed that Kung Fu Generation makes an appearance on this menu soon!
The coffee + vibes were top notch and barista super friendly 👏 can’t wait to come back here!
Very good quality coffee but bit pricey. Regular are around $3.50.
Nice atmosphere to work or meet with a friend, and service was pleasant as well.
Their coffee tastes like it listens to Vinyl.
Pretty good coffee, especially for price. Staff is friendly.
It was a very nice experience thank you
Friendly staff. Lots of seating. Great coffee and free refills.
They dont charge extra for non-dairy milk!! 👏👏👏 Baristas were super nice too.
Try the TLUB, it is to die for. My only complaint is that this shop is too close to my place of work, thus causing me to go out for coffee way more than I used to.
Love their coffee drinks! Expensive though for any speciality drinks.
Really enjoyed this local coffee spot!
I think I rated this 1 star by mistake and only realized it when I got a response. 😂 I actually really liked this place and will be back!
Fave coffee shop for sitting outside!
; Yummy coffee.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Fun menu!
The best coffee in the Twin Cities!
Love the Kingfield!
The best.
Great coffee!
Great americano
Oatmilk for the win
Best!!
