Shelves are poorly stocked at all stores, especially items that are on sale. This has been a problem long before the pandemic, so whatever the reason, that is not it.
This is, of course, my go-to store for groceries, sun dries and pharmacy. Especially post-COVID, it’s nice having a place locally that is open until midnight. The store is (as most) currently short staffed, but the staff they have are friendly and helpful. Prices are good and competitive with other big box stores, without all the Walmart guilt.
Dont like this location very busy and always out of things. The other one is much better
Its got a good selection of stuff and the setup is pretty much exactly like the one on Bremen highway, which Im used to. my only issue was the card reader at checkout, it didnt hold my card in, so I had to hold it in so it could register. otherwise its a good store
Everything went well until checkout, only 3 cashiers on a Saturday, approximately 4:25pm, waited 35 minutes to get up to the register and unload my cart, thank goodness we didnt have ice cream!!!! Meijer located in Mishawaka, Grape rd. Never again 😒
I haven’t been to this store in over a year. I’m boycotting! My last visit I went after 8pm. I was ill, but nothing catchy, just blood is bad, and I was wearing my mask. By 11pm, I couldn’t fit anything else in my cart. ($350 worth) I try to go when it’s not as busy, & they close at midnight. So, I didn’t wait till the last minute to check out. (I used to be a restaurant manager & hated it when people would come in right before close!)They had 3 girls & a couple managers & not 1 lane was open. The lady(?) who always works nights (short dark hair) told me that I had to ring up all my own groceries at one of those “DIY” spots.OMG!!!I said “I guess I‘ll need another cart.” She was right next to them, & she told me to come over and get one! I was shocked, literally! Thinking back, I wish I had JUST WALKED OUT! I don’t know how I did it. I had to go sit in my car to get enough energy to put my groceries in my car.I HAVE NOT GONE BACK & I won’t go back!!!You lost a $$$ spending great customer. Phew, I’be been wanting to say this for a long time!Sincerely,Tired of your shucking fit!!! FYI Grape Rd Store10-14-2021 **JUST AN UPDATE! I’M STILL BOYCOTTING MEIJER! LMAO **
1 checkout open and wont let you scan more than 12 items...makes walmart look efficient. Left my full cart for the rude employee at checkout...happy stocking!
Fantastic sale on meat before the holiday! The shelf tags for the sale items were a little confusing though, had to read the fine print carefully to be sure that I was picking up the correct product to buy. Meat area was well stocked for the sale- employees worked diligently to ensure customer satisfaction. The U-Scan controller was quick to help & kind when speaking.
My store I love meijer and it is a big store
First time weve been. They have a bunch of stuff. I went in for Coca-Cola and wasnt disappointed. Clean and staff was friendly
The store was fine until checkout. I had to wait almost 30 minutes just to use the self-scan checkout for 10 items. The other lanes were backed up too. This wasnt even during peak usage. I hate to think what people hitting there after 5 would have to contend with.
I love this store some things might cost a little more but I love the fact that I can always run in and out without having to make a 10 min trip 30 mins due to long lines oh and the app is a plus because I love the coupons that they often have
Stopped for an item that they supposed had but, unfortunately they did not. Still i enjoy shopping at this place.
This has been my go to grocery store for over 15yrs. I understand with Covid there are staff shortages although when there are self ck out machines KEEP THEM ALL OPEN!! I only go to Meijer now when I really have too! I dont have time for their long lines. The worst times are after 8pm. I have walked in only to walk right back out!Sandy was the best part of todays trip.
A nice variety of types of food & general merchandise to choose from.
I love Meijer, I call it our regional WalMart. They tend to have a good choice on items, sometimes a bit less than Wally world but makes due. They have stayed open later during the pandemic which is much appreciatedIt would be nice if they could expand the self checkout or clearing make a line, as it seems the general public doesnt follow the markers you have put out, leading to people just cutting in front of you
Plenty of handicap parking. Separate garden area entrance with cashier, entrance to store inside the garden area. When I was there I had no problem finding assistance in locating items. A one stop shopping!
ALWAYS out of stock of everything! They stop carrying brands that are popular. Not sure who the new managers are in the area but Grape Rd location and Bremen Hwy need to think about ALL of their customer base, not just certain ones...
Meijer is pushing new treatments for workers and customers. Careful who you listen to.
It was very nice and clean I did not get greeted Stacy talk to me that was nice and your store is a lot smaller than Grape Road cuz I work there
The store was well organized and clean. Employees were friendly and I got everything I needed! Good job!!
Love the produce here. I can check the website for deals clip coupons and make a shopping list. I can also order and pick up. Great store with a good amount of Vegan options.
I am so in love with Grape Rd. Meijer! Its seriously one of my favorite places to shop! I love the fact that I am able to buy a new movie, pick up my prescriptions, grab a money order/pay a bill, get new shoes for the family, get the kids school supplies, a pack of socks, more shampoo and my groceries all in one place! Oh and get my lottery tickets! I can honestly say that I can easily spend more than a thousand dollars here probably without even getting to the other half of the store! I love that they carry my favorite brans at a low price. Im forever in love with BEBE, skechers, Aussie, and my absolute favorite right now is Adidas! Im swimming in Adidas shoes, clothes and other essentials like their backpacs. Check em out!!!
They had absolutely nothing felt like I was in a kroger
Good shopping, lots of sales at the moment as well. A bit of advice tho,..lol, try not to ever go on a Friday complete chaos🤣🤦🏾♀️. But definitely good place to shop
I got deil meat and the lady was very nice and fast
The self checkout is only 25 items or less which isnt really beneficial if they only have 3 registers open like when I went. Come prepared by just getting the app and scan as you go for a better experience so you dont have to end up waiting 45 minutes to an hour in line if youre doing your monthly shopping. Goods wise: international food section is small but plenty of great basic food staples. Very tidy home goods and decor section. Cleaning items are spread randomly throughout the store. Electronics section is all over the place.
Great food quality.LOVE the buy 10 items/$10 get the 11th items free.
Eh. What can I say. Its a Meijer Ive never been impressed with Meijer. They mostly are a generic store. Yet they go deeper in some areas. Like golfing. Youd have to a sporting goods store to find more accessories. Also their very different collection of live plants/flowers.
Im diehard Meijer fan, this store has more pricing, labeling, mperks problems comparing to my past Meijers
I love Meijers. It has THE best produce. It also has fair prices. However i wish they would have more registers open, as it is always a long line to get checked out.
This store is terrible with having minimal checkouts open. People are backed up and the wait is beyond acceptable. Today I counted 19 carts in line for the self checkout. They only bother to open like 4 normal checkouts which isnt nearly enough. I called corporate to complain, because this was especially unacceptable during the beginning of the pandemic. I cant believe people dont complain and put up with this.
Very nice neat and clean store.
Overall it wasnt a bad experience. The produce section could use a little work, lots of old veggies out. Also, several self checkout machines down causing long lines and wait times. However, store was clean and had a friendly helpful staff
Good produce decent prices but it seems like the grocery stores other than Martins is really tough to get your groceries checked out unless you do it yourself
Clerk would not let me purchase wine because I produced an ID from another country. He wanted a US issued ID to verify my age!
While the store is well maintained and the produce fresh, there is ALWAYS a huge wait to check out. I even tried going later in the evening. They never have enough cashiers and the self checking line is ridiculous.
I guess it was better than average because the store was out of only a couple items on my list. Usually half the things I want are out of stock.
Clean, very busy, everything I needed got it quick
Sad and pathetic customer service I called Three separate times this am wanting to speak to a mgr or meat department and each time I got transferred to every department except meat told a mgr was unavailable well I bought fresh meat less than 24 hours agos and its spoiled and I cant even talk to anyone about it!!! Well first thing tomorrow Ill be at the stjoesph county health department with the meat and my receipt see if they respond to that!!!
The team was nice and I was greeted when I walked in. When I left the security tag was still on and someone quickly assisted. They were very understanding and helpful!
I had the privilege of having a prejudice check out lady at the the self service checkout. I really wish the world was a better place, but its not.
The lady at customer service denied me purchasing lottery tickets because my boyfriend didn’t have an ID with him. I asked her why he would need his ID if I was the one purchasing them and she got a major attitude with me and said “because I said so”. Extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. Pretty sure you wouldn’t deny someone purchasing alcohol if they’re of age and the person they’re with didn’t show their ID, so why deny someone purchasing a LOTTERY TICKET if they literally have their ID and are of the age. I guess i’ll buy my lottery tickets from somewhere else from now on
Although Meier’s had a sign up that you had to wear a mask they did not enforce it either with customers or employees. But when it came to packing my groceries into reusable bags that I actually bought at Meijers, they put their foot down and refused. I guess if I have to pack my own I will be going to Aldi‘s instead.
Everything was good except the items that are on sale are out of stock every time we shop. Its not right to advertise then not stock those items. We shop every Monday around 1 for our weekly shopping.
After many dissatisfied experiences Im just done here. Their policies are inconsistent. Bringing 6 items to the fast checkout even when the line is completely empty, they will try to boot you out, making you wait an hour to get pickles and veggies. But other times you will see the line crammed with people who have well over 10+ items! They have been out of Claussen pickles for weeks, and half of items on sale are never in stock. Unfriendly cashiers, understaffed and power trip attitudes...spending more time acting like hall monitors than doing what theyre paid to do. Grocery pickup is a joke and unreliable. Always out of at least a few items and the shoppers offer no subs. It is just laziness. Make sure you have card at the 5 items or less or you cant purchase anything...because it is cash only. The podium tells you to give the cashier your method of payment just for her to get snappy and say We dont accept cash on these WELL WHERE IS THE SIGN? Im over it and over Meijer. Im not messing with them anymore. Get it together. The pandemic is no excuse, since no other grocery store has given me the same terrible experiences.
Love that its always clean, hate the prices at times.
Clean and well stocked store.
We shopped 2 days ago. Yesterday when we opened the carrots could see mold. Returned to the store...no replacement available. Today we opened the celery and broccoli and also found mold in celery and old broccoli. Didnt return to store but will watch closer in any future vegetables!!!
Theyve got it all. Groceries to running shoes. Light bulbs to tulip bulbs.Open check out lanes are few after dinner hours & the wait would be so much nicer if there was music to pass the time waiting.
Love it here! If you dislike large crowds though do not go here as it can get busy on the weekends. Otherwise it is very convenient.
If you dont feel like shopping around you can get anything you want there, a good place to go.
20 items or less in self check out lanes and my cart was full ($500)and only 2 lanes out of the 26 regular lanes were open, yet there were plenty of employees standing around watching the self check out lanes which only a hand full of people were using and this was a Saturday evening. Stood in line for over 45 minutes. Very dissatisfied
Great store, just didnt have what I needed the day I went.
Always a good place to shop! Walmart could learn a few things from you guys! Like customer service!!!
Absolutely zero carts inside the store and they were not even busy.
Nice store And good sales👍👍🍺😎
Not enough people at the checkout they were trying to force people to use the self checkout. Extremely long lines looks like all they care about is profitability. I think Im going to take my business to another Myers closer to where I live which deals with these things much better. they always have enough registers open for people that dont want to use the self check. Last time for this location
When they first opened in the mid 90s they were people friendly. Now the have so little staff I felt like I was in Walmart. Especially when it comes to cashiers.
Love the freshness of the veggis and fruit!
Wow, Monday am not the time to shop. Store wiped out in a lot of areas.
Its a good store, prices are competitive for the area. Cashiers are chronically understaffed. Ive never seen more than a third of the lanes occupied with staff. Self checkout lanes are faster, but are limited to 20 items and are still packed if the store is even marginally busy. Before the store renovated this summer, there were larger self checkouts with a conveyor belt and a higher item limit. They got rid of these, which was not a good idea and the extra space isnt utilized properly regardless.Edit: Heres a photo of it on a (Friday I think) night. An extreme case, but it illustrates how bad the cashier problem is. One cashier lane open, only one set of 6 self checkouts working. Line to said self checkouts when the store is pretty empty.
Meijer is currently doing some remodeling and I’m hoping that they do a better job of keeping the store clean. So far, it’s looking pretty nice. I tend to shop here at night and it still gets pretty busy. It is a great store if you are just looking for a few things but it can get pricey pretty fast.
Never has enough cashiers lanes open. The person at self checkout rudely started putting my stuff back in cart since I had more than allowed items but it wasnt that many extra.
For the longest time I have been doing the majority of my grocery shopping at Walmart. Dealing with picked over shelves and very rude people. The Fiance and I went to Meijer yesterday and we were impressed.
Found what I needed. Store clean and not overcrowded. staff helpful.
Funny no one was manning the coffee spot. A number of employees were working in produce and bakery but not one person offered assistance. After 7-8 minutes, I left.
They dont take cash at self checkouts so if you go for one item and want to pay cash you have to stand in line with the customers with carts full of items. Twenty minutes to get a pop ? No thank you! Aside from that they are pretty standard.
Rather go here. But due to nobody wants to work longer lines at check out.
Very poor selection of clothes for a bigger person, and there are other MLB teams than the Cubs. I went into the store planning on spending quite a bit of money on new clothes and did not spend a quarter of what I would have
This Meijer is nice and clean and has good quality food. The location is close to many hotels and restaurants. Meijer has a lot more than just food as well. You can find pretty much whatever you need there.
The best meijer to shop in this area! Best employees and even better selections
Another good place to find good deals!!
My recent visit was very unpleasant. As My mom and I entered we noticed there wasn’t any carts. We were asking the worker at the door if there was any or possibly if anyone was bringing any inside. He directed us to go outside ourselves to get them or to the other end of the store. He was very unpleasant and acted as if he didn’t want to even speak to us. Another shopper noticed the interaction & offered her cart because she said she didn’t come to get much anyway. Don’t do a job that requires you to have great customer service if you’re not a people person.
Love saving money with their coupons. Its worth the few minutes to find savings.
High prices with bait and switch tactics. Even their ads do not tell you the weight of the prepacked outrageous prices for buy one get one free.Ad stated bogo free in boneless skinless chicken breasts. It was the smallest, thinnest chicken breasts where they had taken 2 cut them half so you only really had 2 super small and thin whole chicken breasts on sale for 8 bucks. What a rip off.
Two registers open with the lines back into the clothes section. Terrible and clearly poorly managed.
I have always liked shopping at Meijer. But my preferred Meijer location is starting to have lots of holes on the shelves, where product should be. This is the primary reason that I stopped shopping at Walmart.
Good deals n prices
As usual a decent shopping experience. I like the fresh fruit on sale this week, good deals.
Very expensive you are not macys
Better selection of most everything than the store on Portage.
Busiest time of the week and day and you can not have 4 lanes open. It takes forever to get out of this store. Because of this I would rather pay the higher prices at martins. But silly me thiss was closer and I not need 2 items. I put them back and went to martins. I will never come back this is ridiculous
Everything is so clean, and all the shelves are faced really nice.
I went here once. It was my first and only time ever I went to Meijer. Every employee their looked so dead inside. I want to ask, how are the staff being treated? The management should respect their coworkers, because they are the ones who contact the most people.I am NEVER going to shop at Meijers again.
We love this store. It had some isles today that had pallets like someone was working but no one was there. Busy day! They are always nice. The older gentleman at the front door today is so nice. You can tell he loves his job.
Fresh vegetables. Way better than Walmart or Target.
MEIJER Grape rd is the horrible! Always way understaffed plan on waiting 30+ min to check out. Whoever does the scheduling might need retrained.
Good sales. Knowledgeable staff. I have always had a good experience at the pharmacy
I like meijers. Close to my home. Nice people. Very convenient. However, my last visit to meijers wasnt very pleasant. Bought doughnuts from the meijers on grape road yesterday, got home, and they were hard and stail. The package was open. I didnt know. Thought i could trust meijers as my go to store. But im having second thoughts.
Nice store. Very long lines at the checkout and very few of the many lanes were open.
Best Meijer of all their stores, they carry the BEST meat. There sales are good. And they stock well on sale items. Excellent store
Flower shopping today, good choices and varieties
Every Sunday it’s packed here, and yet there are only ever 3 lanes open. Over 100 people standing in line to check out.
Chronically understaffed. Whether its waiting for customer service, looking for a reasonably short check out line, or hoping against hope that the frozen vegetables theyve been out of for several saturdays in a row will magically be restocked, this store underwhelms.
Excellent experience at Meijers today in Mishawaka Indiana enjoy shopping there will be back next week
