My kiddo accidentally put kerosene in my car instead of unleaded gas while taking a trip to Maryland. The car was towed to Sube Shop, about 30 miles away. Even though they had a full schedule, they took the time to squeeze us in and had the car running in about 24 hours. Brandon was great as he took the time to explain to me what services he performed and made sure the car was safe to drive. He could of very easily taken advantage of our situation, but instead he was honest, thorough and charged us a fair price. We have not had any issues with the car since. Thank you!

I recommend them for anyone who does not know much about cars - we all know some shops will take advantage if they suspect ignorance, but not The Sube Shop! Ive been bringing my car here for four years and hope to never have to go anywhere else. I dont think I could find another business with as friendly and knowledgeable staff. No matter the damage, theyve always been able to fix my car for good rates. Most importantly, theyve always made me feel comfortable!

Our family has been taking our Subes here for years. They always do great work at reasonable prices. Theyve taken the time to throw in little extras for free: paint from a minor fender bender on the bumper cleaned off, replaced the battery in my key fob, tightened up my air intakes so my car would stop stalling. I trust them and they take care of me.

I recently took my 07 Forester there for repairs, and they are awesome. An oil leak started shortly after I bought the car, and it turns out the dealer I bought it from did some really shoddy work on it. The guys at Sube Shop fixed it right up and its running better than ever. Ill be going here for maintenance as long as I live in the area!

This is a locally owned shop with several very talented younger mechanics practicing their labor of love on Subarus motorcycles hot rods and insane off road vehicles. Ask for co- owner brandon or cole. Trustworthy and knowledgeable guys highly recommend. Accept insurance jobs also! The only place Ill go for my Subaru. Ive walked in like I need this bolt and they toss me one. I need a rare relay and they point to a scrap car where I can grab one. I need trim parts and a radio unit They let me take them from the scrapyard. All for free. I went in thinking I needed a bearing and Brandon pops it on the lift, finds out its the rotor dust guard, Bends it back and sends me out in less than ten minutes, didnt even cost a dime. When it does come to paid parts my bills is often a hair under the estimate, the work is solid and clean. The good guys, the best guys, the Sube Shop.

Absolute terrible service. Got my engine rebuilt by them, and it was given back to me with a check engine light on as well as an extremely squeaky belt. I spent an additional couple hundred bucks to fix what have should not have been happening in the first place. I could also tell they took my vehicle for a joyride, as the gas level was way lower than when i dropped it off, by almost a half tank. Do me a favor and skip the sube shop.

I could not recommend this shop enough! As a woman (without much car knowledge) I have 100% been taken advantage of at other shops...not this one! For over a year I’ve been taking my Toyota Rav 4 to different shops because multiple lights keep coming on and no one really fixed the problem. But a few months ago I had my front brakes replaced, coil packs and few filters. The price came in at much lower than what was quoted because they were able to fix it faster than they thought. Instead of over-charging me and “finding other issues” (much like situations that have happened to me before) I paid less for the best quality work I have had on the car in well over a year. They were the ONLY shop to truly pinpoint the issue and fix it. They are now my go-to for all things car related.

My Toyota Rav4 had some check engine lights on. They performed a quick diagnostic on it at no charge, cleared the alarms and said if they came back on I could bring it back for a proper inspection. Toyota wanted to charge around 70 bucks just for the diagnostics. Sube shop seems like a very reasonable shop so if I have any auto repair needs I will definitely be giving them a call.

Good work I suppose but I didnt appreciate them doing additional work outside of what l had requested done without consulting me first which the end result had raised my bill tremendously and hurt financially. I feel I cant return for future service given this breach of trust and shady business practices. The Sube Shop is the place to go if you’re a Sube owner. I highly recommend going here and not to The local dealer if at all possible. After having The local Subaru dealer get grease all over the interior of my car after having a recall issue taken care of I will avoid them at all costs. Brandon and his crew at the Sube shop know their stuff. Anytime I have a problem I go straight to these guys, Brandon ha helped me on multiple occasions fixing parts and finding me parts for me to put on myself. This is A+ customer service, they help you out any way they can and don’t try to screw you over. For knowledge and the best personal interactions as far as car repair I strongly suggest the Sube Shop.

It’s been a long time since I have been to the Sube shop but I always wish I could find another mechanic and used car dealer where I live now. I bought a used Subaru from them when I moved to Morgantown for college. It did me well during my time there. After about 6 months the engine went out on me on a trip back to Morgantown from DC. My engine was luckily still under warranty and they replaced it at no cost to me. I sold them back my Subaru when I moved. The original owner of the Sube shop had sold his company to his employees. They are great guys and really care about their customers. I’m really glad they ended up buying it from the original owner because they are fantastic!

The Sube Shop recently replaced my head gaskets after a timing belt failure at 84,000 miles. Although other mechanics that have looked at my bill say their pricing was reasonable, it took 2.5 weeks to complete the work and they failed to complete the job. They forgot to put the air intake duct back in place along with another engine belt cover.... (found them in the trunk of my car), forgot to clean the throttle plate so that the idle with the new heads would sync with the car, and put in inferior GREEN antifreeze to the Sube Blue, which is recommended by Subaru of America. Cleaning up these oversights cost me an additional $250.00. Not what I was expecting.....I really liked them, but found these problems to greatly diminish the quality of the repair work done.

Bottom line: These guys really came through for me.Details: In May 2018 I was returning to the DC area passing by Morgantown in the afternoon when my center differential gave out on me. Even though it was closing time by the time i reached these guys, they stayed open and really helped me out by replacing the center differential with one from a parts vehicle. Some shops would have insisted I stay overnight and come back in the morning. They could have gouged me big time, but they charged a fair price.I got a chance to get to know them (and their kids) a bit and would not hesitate to go back.Even though it may be a good way from the DC area, getting work done by a shop I trust is well worth the drive. - David.Meiselman, Rockville, MD

This shop has done excellent work on several occasions for me. They replaced my exhaust system on my 01 3.0L for only 60 bucks after I paid for the parts myself. Which saved me around 2000 dollars. They also gave me a fair price on repairing my oil leak (2 valve gaskets broke) which was around 350ish. When the Suncrest Auto wanted almost 700 dollars. They are personable and entertaining to talk to, they also are good at explaining any issues that come up with owning a Subaru to those who are not car savvy.

This is the best place in town to get your Subaru worked on. Whether its your beater Subaru, your girlfriends Subaru, or your brand-new-still-under-warranty-space-ship-Subaru. Just take it here.Their parts inventory is massive since its the only vehicles they work on.Theyre extremely knowledgeable on any and all issues related to any model Subaru.Their prices are extremely fair, which is a tough one here in Morgantown. They do what they say they will and stick to their word.Theyre not going to find things wrong with your car to get an extra buck out of you. That last one is something I wish more shops would do, as Ive had extremely bad luck with mechanics. If the brakes have 20,000 more miles of life left in them, they dont need changed now.But certain shops will require them to be changed as a safety precaution.I do a lot of car work and often find myself bringing parts along with my idiot friend Jeff Italian Stereotype Dolittle just because theyre so helpful when I need I do need help. When my first son took his car there, they quoted him a price and he ended up paying 2k more than what they initially said. When he picked it up, all the lights on the dash were on - they did not complete the job. He ended up taking it back there because since they had not completed the job the first time around, it started to cause some additional problems and stopped running. My 2nd son took his Subaru there, he also was quoted a price and was changed about 1k above what he was initially told. He was only prepared to pay what was initially quoted because he is a college student and doesnt have a lot of money. Never again. Im not sure why my 2nd son took his car there after the experience my first son had with them. Needless to say...they both learned and will never take their cars back there. An update to my previous post...my son has to take his car back to fix whatever they neglected to fix. He is now, in addition to other problems that have arisen since he got it back, having trouble with his power steering and it has a miss in it, the check engine light is on AGAIN and the cruise control light is blinking AGAIN and this is what happens AFTER they say they fix it...this is EXACTLY what happened to my other sons car AFTER they fixed it. What a waste of money this mess has been. NEVER AGAIN! Folks, stay away from there...I know we will. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

My experiences with mechanics most of my life has been incredibly poor. Its amazing how often a simple inspection turns into needing new rotors or brakes or some other nonsense just for the sake of charging me more money. Then around 10 years ago, I ran into Brandon and later Todd at the Sube Shop.Their prices are completely fair and reasonable. I work on my own vehicle as often as I can for enjoyment, but when I have a problem I cant straighten out myself, I go see these two. If you own a Subaru, there is no reason to EVER take your vehicle anywhere else than these guys. My entire friend group loves them so much we even haul them scrap parts and vehicles every chance we get (usually me with my idiot buddy Bruce PermaDrunk Hobbs).Take it from a guy who likes to mess with his own car: the Sube Shop is the real deal of mechanic shops.
