I went looking for a 2022 Honda Civic LX. I was happy they had the exact color I wanted. However, they added about $6000 worth of unnecessary add-on package. When I asked the sales person to take it off he had the audacity to say they couldn’t because it came from the manufacturer with the package included. They are ridiculous and shady. I understand there’s a shortage in cars at the moment, but to actually add over $5000 on the MSRP is unethical in my opinion. Stay far far away unless you want to get ripped off.

I went to get the oil change for my car I literally waited 3 hours. When I finally decided to go check if my car was there it was. I ask the cashier person she stated she called me 2 times which clearly she didn’t because I was sitting in the waiting room the whole time. She must of called me through the speaker which is outside and only id you are outside you can hear it. Never apologized, gave me a dirty look. This is not the first time this happens to me, second time, I am very upset. She needs to be more efficient instead of being on her phone and talking to other employees all the time she should worry about getting her job done correctly.

They include a pointless add-on package which includes things like pinstripes you cant decline which increases the price of the vehicle by a couple thousand dollars. Had a much better experience at Poway Honda and was able to beat their price easily. Purchased a Honda Odyssey there for about $3000 less than the identical model at this dealership. Overall felt much more comfortable with them and trusted them more than Ball Honda.

Went to look an Accord hybrid, on line price is good but showed up and has unrequestedAdd ons, totalling asking price of 38k. The price is set and nonnegotiable. Left after being told that inventory is limited and if I find a lower price to buy it. I did leave and found the same car for 32k at Mossy lemon grove. Do your homework look online for market value and buy at your offering price. Dont purchase items that you didnt ask for.

Sean took my vehicle and sent me a text at 10:05 am to communicate updates.I requested an update by text at 11:46 am; NO REPLY. Then I sent another request at 1:52 pm; NO REPLY. I called Sean instead and he told me I dont know, let me check then Ill call you.He lost me at that moment; 4 hours and he had no clue of my vehicles care. He called me back at 2:05 pm to say only oil change and air filters were done, they needed to inspect the brakes. They were about to start, after 4 hours! That was not acceptable especially because he said 3 - 4 hours when he took my vehicle and I shared with him that it was my sons birthday and he had the opportunity to say we wont be able to do it today let me make a future appointment or call me/ reply to my text sent at 11:46 am to communicate that they wouldnt be able to finish my request and allow me to pick up my vehicle.I had to call Sean at 2:27 pm to request my vehicle. The worst is that when I arrived he did not attempt to apologize or make an appointment to complete the service; instead, he blamed me for going without an appointment, wiping his hands by saying he had no control over the workers liability and tried to say they were short staff.From the 1st moment I communicated my vehicles needs, he assumed responsibility to take care of me.β€’ He should know the staff that is available to take the right amount of work for the day; instead of blaming coworkers for low productivity.β€’ He should take ownership of his mistake, apologize and work on the solution to help me; instead of giving me excuses and sending me home with the unrepaired vehicle and no follow-up appointment.HAPPY ENDINGI called Honda El Cajon the same day of the incident. I bought my very first car here mid March after my brother had purchased his. I went to the same lady (Lea) he bought his car from. Since my brother referred me to her, she threw in the tint for my car but had to come in when convenient for me. We were off to a good start but as soon as we wanted to drive it off the lot we noticed scratches already on the car. We let Lea know before leaving and she seemed in a rush to get us off the lot already so she said not to worry about it but to take pictures and to come in the following week so they can fix it and to do my tints all at once.What a hassle it has been just to get these things done. Lea made it sound like a sure thing for me to come in on a certain day to get my things done. Since I work, my brother offered on his day off to take my car for me...it has been about 4 MONDAYS IN A ROW that my brother has went down to the dealership and there has always been something from them (mainly Lea) that has stopped us from getting my car done. She had told us a specific time to come in the first time and then when my brother gets there, Lea tells him the guys who does the tint has called out.. the next Monday, Lea isn’t there, when she could have called us to let us know since she said she wanted to be there and β€œkeep an eye” on the car. The third attempt, it was drizzling that day but stopped later on and the gentleman working at that time (Jose, servicing department) said they would not be able to do the tint on the window due to the rain, which makes sense. But then Lea said just to come back a couple hours later to then coming back those few hours later and telling us they can’t do it.After Lea telling us that, my brother spoke with Jose again and he mentioned to us that either way we were not in the system for an appointment for the tints. I was thinking this whole time that Leah had put us down in the system for an appointment it made Jose and the servicing department look bad when it was her doing. My brother had told Jose that one of the previous Mondays he has gone that someone called out and Jose said that that wasn’t true, Lea had LIED to us about one of the guys called out! I’ve been so eager to get my window tint and she’s been giving us the run around. She had always insisted for us to come at a specific time each time but to be turned away. Finally that day my brother made an appointment for today May 3, The car did not finish in time so it is staying there until the next day but I do not have a car for work so we had to call Jose to see if he would be able to give us a rental for the day and he had mentioned to us that Lea had given another customer their last rental car even after he had told her that I had needed it since the car was not going to be ready.Jose was nice enough to stay after his time to find a car for me to use for work the next day!!Do not go with Lea or trust anything she says! She makes promises she can’t keep and will just give you the run around! So horrible.

Poor customer service. Called and asked about a part and got Alex who was slightly rude. He continuously spoke over me, and was in a rush to get off the phone. His tone changed once i asked to speak to a manager. I should have took the hint but i arrived and walked in looking for the parts department and literally walked around the entire sales floor and not one person acknowledged me or asked if i needed help. Should have took that hint but i waited in line to ask the cashier who directed me to another building. Arrived at the parts department located behind the Acura dealership and got Alex again who was more friendly in person. He removed the part from my car and went to the back to check compatibility with the part he had and he claims they were different and when he came back he didnt have the other piece to my part anymore and claimed he didnt have. Very sneaky as dealerships typically are! I couldnt prove he took it so there was nothing i could do. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I can only imagine how many other customers this has happened to and didnt realize it. Always follow your gut! If it doesnt feel right its not right!

I hate making reviews like this. If you are going for car service, make sure that more than one person knows that you are waiting. When driving into the drive thru one guy in a suit told me to go inside to wait and I waited for nearly an hour (around 50 minutes). I wasnt helped or even acknowledged. I went back to my car, started it up and started writing this review before I drove off. As I was typing this down I was greeted again by a different person (someone from the car service area) as if I had just gotten there. I was immediately taken in when I told them how long I had just waited inside and that I was about to leave. Service for brakes was estimated at two hours. I came back two hours later and my car was not finished. I was told that my car was almost done and that it was being washed. Around 30 minutes go by before my car is ready. Although I am grateful for that gesture, I wish they had let me know ahead of time that they were washing my car. Its an older model and some of the paint was beginning to chip off so I usually wash it by hand to take extra care. More of the paint chipped off with the carwash and some yellow spots (bee pollen or bee poop was still left on my car. You can imagine the quality of the car wash I got. I appreciate the discount they gave me for the initial wait, but the nice gesture of a carwash should be brought up to the attention of the guests before it is performed. I didnt even want to bring up the issue of the paint since I was already irritated with having to wait for 5 hours for something that should have taken 2. Some folks just like to do that sort of car-care (car wash) themselves to protect the paint. I really dont know if Ill come back here after what Ive been through. Also: one of the guys outside that watches for people interested in the cars in the parking lot was really rude to me when I didnt know where to park my car for service.the way I saw it was, since he didnt see me as a chance to benefit, he quickly brushed me away. Everyone else was nice even though the service overall was off track. Im still alive so the brake job was done well.

The only time someone has been helpful was when I was buying a car from this place. Don’t come here for service go anywhere else but here. Expect to wait long times and expect to have no one come tell you that your car is ready. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I come here they tell me that they will come get me when the car is ready but I always have to go ask if my car is done and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It is. Had they said, it’s not ready yet, I wouldn’t mind the wait, but it’s always ready and it’s just been sitting there while all the men are walking around doing absolutely nothing and going to each other’s desk to talk and laugh. If you can go to another dealership or literally anywhere else than the ball honda in national city, go somewhere else for service on your car. They told me that even after I paid I would have to wait for Gabriel to explain to me about the battery they had just installed my car. After watching him just walk around the dealership for almost 2 hours, when it was time to talk to me he walked towards me and disappeared somewhere else. Second encounter I’ve had with Gabriel in less than two weeks and both times were awful. Now that I know that I can take my car to any other Honda, I’d rather spend money anywhere else than this one. Save your time and money from this place. Who actually likes waiting at a dealership? Absolutely, no one. Especially when their car has been ready and they’re waiting for nothing.

Sub par quality work done to my Honda Civic when the battery needed replacing. Wire was cut to the 12V battery. Since the wire was cut which goes to 12V battery inverter couldnt charge it.Β It had to be rewired to connect inverter to fuze box so that 12V gets charged. Was taken to another shop to get everything repaired.

Im a guy who did not buy from Ball Honda, but is taking time out of his day to write a 5 star review for David Kim, the Internet Sales Manager because he was that nice to speak with over the phone, email, and text with. After placing a deposit for a car at a dealership nearest to me and becoming frustrated that the car would never come, I called around looking for my car. David took my initial call and promised to call me back once he literally ran out to see the car with his own eyes... he would not rely on what the inventory system had to say. They had my car but with one accessory I did not wish for. He explained it would be easy enough to switch it out first thing the next AM when they had a service bay available to do the work. I had every intention to buy a car from him that next morning but out of the blue I got a call from my dealer that my car was being transferred in from another dealership. National City is about 40 miles away, Carlsbad is about 5. All things being equal I would have much preferred to buy from Daniel. He was extremely professional, no nonsense when it came to negotiation, super thorough and detail oriented in every aspect of the impending deal... basically everything I could ask for. So anyway, Daniel is the dude and suggest you ask for him if you have any desire to own a Honda.

I got financed for a new car back in 2017. One of the things I had the option to buy was GAP coverage in case my car was totalled. Sadly, my car was totalled in June of this year by a very unfortunate circumstance. I made the GAP claim like I was supposed to. It turns out that with the warranty, sales taxes, etc, my car was actually overfinanced by the 125% MSRP that GAP would have been able to pay. To make a long story short, the expensive overpriced $800 GAP coverage I purchased through them was effectively worthless regardless of whether anything happened to my car or not because of it. So now Im left to pay the last $4k on my car note because they knowingly sold me a bad GAP policy from the beginning.

I understand the way business works, but the markups have gotten out of hand here; perhaps attributed to the smaller margins on vehicle sales. However, thats not my reason for the low review. Ive had my vehicle serviced here since I bought it and I typically dont mind paying extra for the convenience charge and the friendly smiles (the face to face customer service is still solid).Recently I realized my service was taking a long time, so I went to the receptionist to infer about the hold up and I was told that my car was being washed. 25 minutes later my car still wasnt done so I went back to pay and ask again. The nice receptionist radioed the mechanic for a few minutes with no reply. When she finally got him on the line, my car was still being washed. I requested that my car stop being washed so I can leave and get along with my day.I suppose my greatest issue is the lack of communication and consideration for customer time. Im insanely patient so its pretty easy to keep me sated with some basic communication. I understand the mechanics bill for the hour so I cant help feeling that the oil change and fluid change promotes the unethical practice of unnecessary billing.Suffice to say, the service left a bad enough taste in my mouth to prompt a poor review; where, otherwise, Id have left a good one since I recently started reviewing most every place I visit.

Ive had several Hondas for the past ten-years and usually go to Poway Honda since thats where I originally bought my first Honda CRV, but on June 20th I stopped by the Honda Parts Department to purchase a couple of parts for my daughters 2003 Honda Civic, the amount of support/help that I received from Marty Guevara was excellent and so was his co-worker who was assisting him with finding the parts on the list my mechanic provided to me. Both gentlemen were very helpful and in my opinion went out of their way to assist me, your help was greatly appreciated and next time I purchase a vehicle for myself or upgrade my daughters car I will make my purchase at your dealership for sure, thanks, and God bless You.

The customer service is trash and the attitudes are atrocious, I have been to the dealership on several different occasions. Ive only had my car for no more then three months and each time i notice a different issue with my car and the lack of communication is terrible as well. They fail to execute protocol and return your calls back. Specifically speaking on a phone call today with Juan Espinoza his attitude was disgusting and consistently cut me off every time i choose to speak. I personally had to drive up there and speak to Al Hammerschmidt the general manager and Scott Moses the service manager for this pending issue to be resolved. In no way this should have gotten to the point of me having to speak to them if the service representatives should have did there part prior to me showing up. The Lack of attentiveness to the customers should be priority i shouldnt have to deal with attitudes while getting my vehicle serviced.

I took my 2012 Civic there because of the Paint Warranty Extension and have yet to hear from them. You are better off buying Toyotas or Ford. At least they will help you. I got my 2017 Civic last year and wanted to make sure my car got the best care. Im glad I decided to take it back to get serviced where I got it. They know the car so its fast and easy. My dad would say, You can get your oil changes cheaper somewhere else. Now though that may be true what Im paying for is the easy and peace of mind that theyre doing a good job. I bought my 2017 Honda Accord Sport here at Ball Honda and customer service was amazing! Starting with the salesman and finishing with the finance manager. They knew their inventory and what they were doing because they made everything nice and quick. I will definitely recommend this dealership.

Had a INCREDIBLE buying experience at Ball Honda. Buying through the Costco Auto Program at Ball Honda is the way to go. Diego was TOP NOTCH when test driving vehicles and after purchase, showed us the features we needed to set up before driving off the lot. Greg Maness was just as personable and Sid in Finance, YAY! He was great to work with when filling out necessary paperwork. WILL RETURN for next Honda purchase.

People are friendly and they got a few smart technicians. One Honda dealer ship pulled my circuit relay ship under the dash causing my car to automatically shut off when driving 70 on the freeway. The tech here caught potentially deadly problem. The other Honda dealership missed. Ill vouch for these guys good integrity.

Came here following a horrible experience at a nearby(Chula Vista) Honda dealership! And now believe that everything truly happens for a reason! Not only was a able to trade in my car for a great deal, but was lucky enough to come across the best customer service at a service center ever. Juan E. has taken care of us for close to two years now! He treats us like family ever time, so much so that even though we moved to LA, my husband and I still made a trip down here to service our Honda. Thanks to Juan and the service staff for always taking care of us and our civic!

I got an oil change and I was told that my power steering fluid needed to be changed and it needs immediate attention. I was told that the fluid was black and dirty. The advisor reverified with the technician to make sure that he checked it. I knew something fishy was going on because I just got the power steering fluid changed in July at another dealer at Pacific Honda. Advisor advised me that they did not change it and it needs to be done. I contacted Pacific Honda to verify if they show on my records that the fluid was changed. At this point I was very upset and knew someone is trying to cheat me. Took my car back to Pacific and they showed me the fluid from my car and showed me a sample of an old fluid and a sample of a new fluid. Indeed the fluid in my car was NOT dirty or old! This place was making unnecessary recommendations. BEWARE of this SCAM!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I tried to call the service advisor and they put me on a long hold.

Prior to the July 4th weekend I called Hondas service department to schedule an appointment regarding the recent airbag recall. I spoke to a gentleman named Mario who asked me to come in during the week. I explained I could only go on a weekend. He said he would schedule me for a Saturday at 10am.I show up and he says he doesnt remember talking to me and turns up he didnt make an appointment. He apologized and scheduled for the following Saturday at 8AM. He filled out a form and told me it was taken care of.The next weekend I show up and Im greeted by an older gentleman (I believe his name is Dave) and he tells me Mario is not in. I explained my situation. Dave tells me he cant find any appointment yet again. He apologizes and told me he would schedule me in no problem.I really dont understand how someone as unprofessional, careless/scatter-brained, or downright apathetic like this Mario can work in any office position. TWICE he pulled this stunt and I will make sure not to come back because of him. The only reason Im giving this place 2 stars is because Dave was very professional and courteous and made every effort to accommodate me.I used to work in sales myself and I think Mario forgot an important rule in the sales world: a satisfied customer will tell 2-3 people about his experience. A dissatisfied consumer will share his complaint with 8-10 people.

This place is pushy! I know thats what car salespeople are traditionally thought of being, but come on. I told this guy FIRST thing that I WAS NOT GOING TO BUY A CAR THAT DAY. Youd swear it went through one ear and out the other. He was convinced that I miraculously changed my mind and that I was going to buy LITERALLY the FIRST car I test drove. Please! Im not that desperate. Also he talked down on other brands of cars, tacky. Then he admitted to driving a VW, hypocrite. Steer clear if you can help it.

All of the guys and gals in the Service Department have always taken good care of me when I bring my car in for maintenance or repairs. They have fair rates and get me back on the road ASAP. I get a free car wash on every visit and they give me a free ride home, when needed. What more could you ask for?

Not very helpful sales staff. Was looking for a vehicle, had to chase down a sales person, 3 different ones and it was like pulling teeth. Not very interested in making a sale it seemed. No name introductions. And no willingness to help.

I give this place 3 stars for the simple fact I was seen quick. However I cant say the same for the receptionist. She seemed to be overwhelmed and with a short temper, maybe due to not being able to handle multiple things at a time. But hey everyone has their way of working.

If could give no stars, then this place deserves less than none.Horrible customer service!Lied to and were gonna be charge double for their mistakes of not fully inspecting vehicle before service. Took longer to repair than necessary. Two faced liars work here and not worth your time. Do not keep their word or honor discounts. Go elsewhere. Never again!
