Revised and updated review.My experience at Mavis had three parts. My first part was when I called the store to see if I could get me 2 tires for my car they told me they only had two in stock and said they would have to let me know the next day if they in fact had the two tires in stock from their inventory. After careful consideration I thought it would be best to not wait for the two tires and to just get four new tires which I did the next day. Michael from the store helped me out I had the tires installed however the tires were over inflated by almost 10 pounds.The next day after driving 25 miles I went to tighten the lug bolts as per the notice Mavis has in the store, however I was unable to tighten many of the lug bolts because the decorative caps on the lug bolts were damaged. As I was explained to by Xavier at the Mavis location many automakers put decorative caps on the actual lug bolts, overtime water / temperature expands the caps and they are difficult to remove or they cannot be removed at all.   In the process of Mavis changing the tires the impact wrench had damaged some of those decorated caps. When I went to tighten up my lug bolts I could not as several of them were damaged and one of them was completely missing. The issue I have with this is that in my opinion Mavis should have made me aware that this had happened because if I would have gotten stranded on the side of the road I would not have been able to change a flat tire.I am in no way saying that Mavis is responsible for the design of the car manufacturer with the decorative cap on the lug bolts. However in my opinion if they did damage the decorative cap that they should have made me aware of possible solutions. Xavier did explain to me that if I bought new lug bolts without the decorative caps they would replace them which they did a few days later at no charge. Which I greatly appreciate and this has been done however my issue is one of safety.  Customers should be made aware of this before the work is done.In the end everything worked out I would buy tires again from them I just hope this is something that is addressed not only in this store but at the corporate level.

I had gotten a flat tire and When I called to see if they had the tire in stock; both Zavier & Mikey are were great with me. When I came in they were honest and upfront about the tire being out of stock and their recommendation. The tech who repaired my original tire, Matt, took the time to show me the tire and explain so I can understand what happened to it and what the repair would do. I usually do deal with Mavis in New Rochelle because it’s convenient BUT those 3 guys were beyond customer service and will be the reason why I continue to go there for my car.

Horrible. I called ahead to find out if they were busy and could change my tires quickly. Of course the answer was “sure come in”. At the counter I was told 2 hrs. A bit longer than it should take but it’s Friday the day after thanksgiving so I said ok.While waiting the mechanics are all playing around not working. After 2 hrs I can see my car on the lift, all that’s been done is the tires taken off. Haven’t seen a mechanic at my car for over an hr now. But can clearly see them all huddled together joking and playing around. Get to work!Oh and they tried to say the car was ready without doing an alignment or balancing. I watch them throw the new tires on and pull it straight outside. I got a call 2 seconds later saying the car was ready.You have viewing windows in the waiting room so you can see everything. Why lie? HQ needs to to do an overhaul of this location.10/10 would NOT recommend. very unprofessional

The New Tochelle Location does right by you! They sure did for me. I had tires changed and a couple days later, my tire warning light would just not go off no matter how often I checked tire pressure. I found the time to bring it in to Mavis, they took it right away and fixed the issue quickly and N/C. Mikey and Manager Vlad sure stand by their business and Customers

The staff was very honest, professional and knowledgeable. I went in there thinking I would be spending a lot of money. Not at all. The two back tires had nails in them and they fix it for only $43.00. They could of easily told me I needed two NEW tires. I will definitely be back to get snow tires for my vehicle. They are the best.

My experience at Mavis in New Rochelle was beyond five stars. Cleveland is extremely personable, kind, patient, kind and attentive. I was stressed out about having to spend so much money but his jokes and and overall great personality altered my mood. I always look forward to working with him when I go there!Zavier also was very helpful, kind and extremely knowledgeable about my car and the service it needed. The price was fair and the work was completed as mentioned.As long as these guys are there I’ll always return for all my car services. Thanks guys... great job!!!

Customer service is awesome. They explain everything very thoroughly before to make sure you know what is going to be done to your car. I will For sure come back! Alejandro, one of the tire techs was leaving home for the day but saw that there was someone in the parking lot struggling to repair their flat tire at 6:15 and kindly walked up to them and processed to take that tire right out. No charge just a generous gesture. Gave each other a hand shake and went along with their evening. I saw all of it as the shop was closing up and I was Filling my tires with air.

I have been going to this Mavis New Rochelle locations for years. I have always been treated well, but lately the service has been outstanding. Cleveland (employee ID 24208) is beyond amazing. I walked into today with my full mask on and he greets me “Hi Greg how are you today”. I was blown away. He had helped me last month with a tire and oil change on one vehicle and a tire on another vehicle. He deals with hundreds of people and he remembered my name. He is positive in his interactions with all the customers. Mavis if you don’t recognize what an outstanding employee you have shame on you. PLEASE don’t take him away from the New Rochelle Mavis though.If you go ask for Cleveland although all the other people I have dealt with in my past at this location have been good too, but Cleveland is above and beyond.THANK YOU!!!!!

I take my car to Mavis in New Rochelle all the time. The store and service mangers are the best. The mechanics are awesome too. I highly recommend them if you want your car done right.

I came in to the New Rochelle Mavis tire center and was welcome as soon as I enter the building. After a short brief conversation with the manager Cleveland I was able to put all fears aside and was able to purchase four tires for my vehicle. I was instructed that the wait would be long so I decided to leave my vehicle and come back to a ready work on vehicle. The service I received was well informed courteous very helpful and Cleveland was very knowledgeable of the products at hand. The facility was clean and the restrooms in good working order. After returning to retrieve my vehicle not only did Cleveland assist me but James also offered his expertise in the products that I purchase. Not only am I very happy with my new tires I am also thrilled for the gentleman that assist me in purchasing the right tires for my vehicle. I will not hesitate to recommend other family members and friends to the New Rochelle Mavis tire center as well as to bring my other vehicles to this facility. I WILL NEVER BRING MY CAR HERE EVER AGAIN. I got four band new tires that I got from tire rack, so they mounted and balanced my tires ! The guy puts the wheel weights to close to the break caliper ! The rest of the weights fell off. This wasn’t safe at all.. I could’ve got into a accident. I have two kids and a wife.people that works here should take their job more serious ! I wished the manger will refund my .$88 for all the trouble I had to go thru. That I had to traveled back over here to get this fixed

Ordered tire online. Called the day before my appointment to see if it came in. It didnt. So we rescheduled to the expected delivery date. I came. They mounted. I paid. They gave me a receipt. I left. No problems.

My battery died and although I was able to get a boost, I called Mavis to see if they could check my battery. I spoke to James who was very kind and told me I could come right in. My battery tested fine but I felt that since it was 4 years old I should get a new one. My car was ready in about 40 minutes and James explained the bill to me in detail. I was very pleased and will continue to use Mavis whenever necessary, as I have over the past many years!

I was there earlier today to get a oil change and whe they wore there they check the car out out. But Im glad I whent there the stuff wore good people and very professional . I will definitely be back.

Mavis in new rochelle left my strut bolts loose after getting new struts installed, The wheel could drop On the highway. Did not perform alignment correct i had to take the car to another shop to get it done and its fine now.. I paid them to install new struts and they told me they will install name brand struts called KYB, after getting the car i went home i found out they installed the cheapest struts available some brand i never heard of so i didnt get what i paid for.Also the warranty is useless labor still needs to be paid if they have any issue.Employees here at new rochelle communicated with me very poorly .

The staff were courteous and knowledgeable I did not have an appointment but the manager. Zavier pushed me in and had my car completed in less time then I expected. I would recommend this particular Mavis.

This shop deserves more then 5 stars!!! The customer service is EXCELLENT!!!! The workers are absolutely amazing !! Especially Zavier!!! He is the only person I trust to work on my car he knows exactly what he is doing. I’m always in and out and I don’t have to wait long periods of time for my car to get worked on.

Ordered four General G-Max AS-05 tires and found better price elsewhere. Mavis discounted tires and threw in an alignment. There was a wait but the service was worth it! Good price backed by National chain. Winning!

The manager Xavier was very professional from the start, he informed me of the price difference for tires and service before hand. Especially the approximate wait time. Very clean store and the customer service was onpoint. I would definitely recommend this New Rochelle Mavis location to anyone. Xavier is the man.

Followup: New manager James has done his best to make this right. Partial refund and will get alignment printer fixed. He offered to check the alignment again later on.I filled out the Mavis customer survey and gave them this information. I havent heard back. 3 out of 4 rims scratched after new tires were installed. See photos. Discovered this when I got home. Also, tech pulled out car without doing alignment. I went up to front desk to point that out. If I hadnt been waiting I dont know if it would have been done. Last visit for rear brakes was good. This was not.

Went in because my boyfriend said he goes there. I think its my 2nd time there and by far even worst experience than first time. The customer service is as if you are doing them a favor. No hello, no good morning and then $600. later they replaced my 2 front tires. I asked for my good tire back for spare but they forgot. I did get it after i noticed it was missing. Then I was shocked when I saw my back seat. It was trashed with newspapers. They basically threw everything from trunk on backsets and floor. I hate to give such bad review but I will NEVER go back. I have a picture of it but not able 2 post on this site. Youve been warn.

I was there when that guy dave m below me was, and they honestly did great considering that you could barely get into their parking lot because it was so full! Very honest and realistic with the wait time as well as my cars needs. Cleveland and Dave rock!

I love the staff. Like legit there is a guy there that alone is a great seller and a wonderful people person. His manager may dislike it but honestly its better for the location because we feel comfortable. The main annoyance is the upsale. Sometimes uts really not needed but other than that the team is nice and very efficient time wise.

They are the best. Fast and quick. They are very helpful and they respect for there customer. I love them if I have any problem with my silverbug that my car I will bring her right there with no problem. I love them. Keep up the good work. Thanks Loretta

Ive been a customer for 30 years at this location. Ive had good service in the past but this time the service was terrible and I fear that my car may have been damaged. The customer service person had a terrible attitude, did not follow any instructions and several aspects of the job that I could monitor were done very poorly -- all tires were at the wrong pressure, different for every tire, and there were no tire stem caps. I will be looking for another tire store.

I waited 4 hours on a Sunday at Mavis in New Rochelle just to be told that the tires were not in stock. There was no apology, no option given to get replacement tires. Only option given was to come back on a different day for the tires to be ordered. So after waiting 4 hours I have to come back to wait another 4 hours for new tires to be installed??? Horrible customer service. Whats the point in making a 9am appointment and to wait till 1pm just to be told that the tires are not on stock??? I will never come back to this establishment.

Took too long go get 2 tires, on top of that i leave the truck at 9am to find out they didnt start to work on it after 4 pm. Its 6pm and the guys has not finish. I dont understand how replacing 2 tires take over 2 hours plus i called 3 times during the day just to make sure they get it done. I dont live near so now im stuck waiting for my truck. Definitely not taking my business elsewhere.

Went in for an oil change but was talked into changing out the tires since they had some mileage on them and were slightly worn so I decided why not? I had a wheel alignment, oil change, new tires installed, brake check etc, costing around a total of $730 I noticed while driving the car after the service that the car started thumping/shaking when going over 60mph. The car is less than 3 years old and the problem arised only after the service that THEY SUGGESTED I had someone take the car back a couple of days later. They had the car for over 2 hours to tell me that it was due to a can of upholstery cleaner that I had underneath the seat so we took it for a drive to check if the issue was fixed. Thumping/shaking is still there and my tire pressure light came on while testing it out. Shout out to Mavis for doing the bare minimum. They also didn’t even properly close the hood of the car. They literally did nothing to even attempt to resolve and gave me the car back in worse condition than when it was first brought in. When we returned to tell them they had not resolved the issue they told me I would have to return first thing the next day since it was too late in the day. I decided to take it to my usual mechanic over the weekend instead and the issue was resolved within 2 hours.

Price was a bit higher than I expected. Wait was a bit longer than I would have liked, but they came thru. Would definitely go back with more accurate expectations

I called to get the price on an oil change for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The person who picked up the phone placed me on hold to look up the price. When returning to the call he explained it would be $75 since the 2012 Wrangler needed synthetic oil. I explained to him that he was incorrect and that car called for regular oil.Despite my instinct I still decided to go there due to the convenient location to my job. After dropping my car off I got a call about 30 minutes later stating that the thread for the plug inside the oil pan was stripped and I needed an entire new oil pan. I rushed back to talk to them and take my car.I went right away to the shop I always have gone to about 12 miles away. They stated that the thread was fine, and that it appeared as though the bolt for the oil pan had just been stripped due to someone using the wrong size wrench. They stated that since the bolt was shiny silver, it indicated that it had been recently stripped.I currently have an open claim with Mavis Corporate and will follow up with this rating and review depending on how they handle this issue for me. Regardless, I will never go back to this location. I have used Mavis for tires before and may still continue to do this if they are able to appropriately remedy the situation.*update as of 3/10/18Still had my original issues, but just went in due to a nail in my tired. They patched it free of charge since I bought the protection plan when I got the tires. This experience was much better than my previous.

I had a two hour wait ahead of me but I was out within 30 minutes to do an inspection, Special shout out to Cleveland of New Rochelle Mavis for making it as smooth as possible, renewed my faith in Mavis

Been there multiple times. To say that things move slowly would be an understatement. Forget even trying to get something done on a weekend!One you realize how many layers of management exist in a given location, suddenly the high prices make perfect sense as well. #avoid

The folks at this Mavis are great. They know what they are talking about. They consult you about repairs to your vehicle and give you options. Their tire selection is very good and varied enough for all budgets. They are also great people. They treat their customers with respect and have great rapport with the customer.

I needed new tires but did not want to pay alot or skimp on quality. The guys at Mavis were helpful in making sure both my safety and my wallet were taken into consideration when choosing the tires.

My experience at this Mavis location was great. (Manny) provided excellent customer service and was genuinely interested in my concerns and needs. Often, when dealing with your vehicle and mechanics, its difficult to differentiate between what you really need and what is just being sold to you just for profit of the business.This was not the case with my visit. (Manny) told me what I really needed and what my options were. I was able to get what I needed at a fair price. Due to this, I will be returning for further business when my tires need any type of work.

When I brought my car in at 10am for an oil change I was told it would cost me 65$ and would be ready in 3 hours. The car was ready at 5pm and thats only because I kept calling them and came in to make sure it would be ready before it closed (at 5p.m.), also when it was time to pay they added an additional 25$ for a new oil filter that wasnt mentioned earlier when I brought the car in. When I wasnt happy about it he was being rude and offer me to pay even more.

Horrible customer service. Stopped in to just get a nail hole plugged... A 10 minute job. It took 2 hours! I was told that they were short staffed. Last time I was there, I just needed them to swap out anew tire that I brought with me. I called first and they said we could fit you in right now. I was there 5 minutes later and it took an hour and a half. No work ethic either. They didnt even turn off the tpms light which I had to do when I got home. Dont give this location your business. Go elsewhere.

This place is a go to for new tires. Not only did the guy let me haggle him a little for a lower price w/o being rude, it actually worked and he gave me a great discount. Service was quick and easy and everyone was all smiles which I love bc it usually means that everyone is paid well or at least enjoys what they are doing.

Always a great experience. They help you with options regarding your budget, provide quality work and always complete the work in the amount of time that they say it will take--sometimes sooner.

Update 2/16/19This Mavis, the staff especially Mr Kier, go out of their way to help you. Had front suspension problems with my 2006 Hyundai Elantra. They hooked me up with a complete new suspension for an unbelievable price.All I can say is if you live in New Rochelle or in the vicinity come here to have your car fixed.Suspension was not the only work done here. Brakes and rotors too and my tires, all done here. Cant beat the customer service and their prices anywhere!Over a 5 Star rating!

My satisfying experience at Mavis Discount Tire is due mainly to Manny, a front desk rep that I met 5-yrs ago at the Mt Vernon Mavis Tire. When Manny relocated to Mavis Tire in New Rochelle, I followed. Why, because of his Customer Service Integrity... The value to consistently provide excellent customer service to satisfy.

Horrible!!! When asked what kind of a car I had, I replied Impala...the clerk then asked me is it a Ford Impala?... I should have walked out right then and there!!! They did not fix my rear brakes properly (pads) did not inform me that the rotors needed attention, and forgot to give me an oil change!!! 3 hrs later, my car was ready. Now, a week later, my brakes r thumping horribly, my ABS lights are flashing and ringing constantly and my Traction control isnt working!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! 😡

This place is the absolute worst. I dropped my tires off at 9:00. Called twice during the day to make sure they were working on the car since I have heard terrible things. The gentleman assured me the the new tires would be mounted by 4 o’clock. I walked in at 4:10 and NOTHING was done NOTHING.THE WORST ESTABLISHMENT EVER.A BUNCH OF LOSERS.

Made appointment to get a tire change and oil change. They called back before my appointment with such a bad attitude, saying they were busy and that I would need to get there earlier. My car sat at the shop all day and was the last to be serviced. When I got home I realized they charged me for the oil change but never even did it. When I notified them a few days later they were so rude about it, as if I had done something wrong. TERRIBLE customer service. The people at the desk try to intimidate you when they are in the wrong and should have been apologetic.

Cleveland is a pleasure to work with each and every time one of our cars needs service. Hes who I look for in the New Rochelle shop!

I made an online appointment to change tires one week ahead. So I dropped of my car and when I came back to pick it up 2 hours later they told me they didnt have the tires I ordered one week in advance. Eventually they put my old tires back on and I have to come again tomorrow - if they have the tiers by then. Time is precious to me and I dont like it being wasted.Update: So its tomorrow and they got 3 of 4 tires. I guess I need to do my business elsewhere.

I was so happy with the service I received when they replaced my flat tire that I returned a few weeks later for an inspection bc I was tired of my regular mechanic trying to upsell me during inspections. After keeping my car all day, I received a call that I needed a brand new tire, total cost $300 plus inspection cost. Odd that this was not mentioned when I was there to replace the other tire earlier. Note that this is a 4 year old car thats only driven on weekends. When I refused to replace the tire, their attitude turned nasty and they would not give me a new inspection sticker so I ended up back at my old mechanic having to replace my windshield wiper to get the inspection sticker.

Friendly and helpful, the time frame they state to be done is approximately correct. All in all I will still bring my vehicle to Mavis.

Did a good job and everything went fine with the tire changing but when I got my vehicle back... Something had been stolen from my car. Chris, the worker who worked on my car figured I wouldnt report a quarter ounce of marijuana missing but I did. He looked at me all stupid when I confronted him about it. I Went inside and announced to the entire waiting room that a thief works at the Mavis theyre about to have their vehicle serviced at. The manager, Larry, was very understanding and empathetic toward my predicament and ended up refunding me for the wheel alignment. If you get your vehicle serviced here, make sure Chris isnt working on your vehicle.

I took my car to the Mavis in Riverside, CT last year for an alignment. It was done very poorly...I had to bring it back the next day for it to be re-done. I had two new tires put on and an alignment in Port Chester a few weeks ago. The balancing of the tires was off and the alignment was terrible. I had to old my wheel to the right in order to drive straight, if I took my ands off the wheel for just a second my car would veer hard to the left. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I took my car to the Mavis in New Rochelle, hoping we would have better luck there. He explained in detail how the wheel had to be held to the right in order to drive straight, how the car pulls hard to the left, also the balancing I paid for was shotty work. Not surprised to say, I have another appointment at Mavis of New Rochelle today (more time I will be loosing, time from my job) to have the alignment done again. I have wasted hours of time, way more money then I should have and all for shotty work that I need to come waste more time for so it can be redone. It seems like their employee turnover rate is so high they can not hold on to anyone long enough for them to become efficient in their job. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have received in all 3 Mavis locations I have been to.

One of my tires had a hole it so I ordered a new one to replace it. They told me when I ordered that I could get all 4 replaced (since they already have a lot of miles on them) and there would be a discount for buying all four. About an hour after I left I called and asked if I could switch my order to have all four tires changed so I could get the discount on the last tire, they said that was fine and they would change the order with the discount in place. When I go to pick up my car a few days later only the one tire is changed and when I told them I had ordered all four to be changed they said oh, well we can order the other 3 tires now at full price. I said since it was their mistake they should give me the discount rate that was promised but they refused. This is not a good business practice, as I will certainly never be going back. The worker I was talking to also seemed pretty clueless when I was asking basic questions about my cars tires.
