I went there in the morning no help very disappointed, foundation wasnt right had to exchanged, went back in the late afternoon better service but disappointed how they advertise, helping you chose make up. Guess Ill have to make another trip down there to exchange again three times a charm. Two stars because she told me she didnt know she did her best.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS STOREEEE had to pick up a few stocking stuffers spent 25.00 and covered EVERYONE!I aso shop here for BIRTHDAYS, party faves and basically...my whole face comes from this store🤭🤫😉😁THe rewards system is getting better it could be better but this store is absolutely Amazing and a life saver get your purse MUST HAVES and TOOLS rite here!However i did hear this store will be in TARGET after this year and not a stand ALONE store anymore ...really going to miss it because I KNOW the prices will JUMP soo im trying to stock up on things
I came in to get my hair colored, a pretty pink/peach, and I had a wonderful experience. I saw Annie, and shes always very nice and very helpful and sweet!! She answered every question that popped into my head, and even went so far as to help me figure out what shampoo and conditioner to use for my new fabulous hairdo. Everyone you meet is also very nice and friendly and are very helpful from the time you come in to the time you leave.
Was going in for something for myself. This the second time Ive ever been in an ULTA beauty store in my life. I got black on, blue shoes and I got my bag, looks mixed matched for sure. But how do you expect for people to open up or feel comfortable to ask for help or want to buy anything, if you say from across the store Oh God from the salon. The other employee to the front was very polite and professional though. Its hypocritical of a beauty store thats in the business of BEAUTY and helping people out when it comes to appearances???
Great experience ! Colleen? (Not sure if I spelled that correctly) was AMAZING! we were both sad she couldnt do my makeup due to COVID restrictions but she did her best to help me find foundation & concealer to fit my skin. Loved how knowledgeable she was dealing with my combination skin.
Extremely nice staff this evening/tonight. 5/29/21. I was having issues trying to activate my credit card, I explained that I tried calling the number & I couldnt get any help. The manager was able to get through to a person to help activate my credit card.

The sales associates were very helpful with providing suggestions on products and assisting with whats what. I am a beginner at makeup and was not sure what items I might need or what types of makeup would work well for my skin tone and they did excellent job helping me out. The products have a wide price range and there is a great selection.
I have never dealt with a customer service that is this uncaring for its customers! I purchased a 125 dollar perfume that had a free gift w purchase, added both to my cart went to check out and my free gift was gone! Supposedly the store didn’t have it in stock.. I called the customer service they told me I can get all the items shipped to me to take advantage of the free gift( I needed the perfume for a gift that weekend) I told him there’s no way you can just ship it to the store or something for me to pickup they said no- emailed customer service about this and they pretty much told me that oh so sorry there’s nothing we can do but don’t worry we always have promotions you can take advantage of the next one! I don’t even want to shop here anymore why offer things to your customers if you won’t uphold and follow through.. rather go to Macy’s or Sephora!

I went there with my work clothes on mind you i paint . I was bent down looking at cologne on the bottom shelf and the old lady thought i was stealing so she ask could she help . She was getting smart and didnt which cologne was which . I will be reporting it to cooperate
Everyone was really kind and helpful but gave you your space. It was clean, quiet, and no lines around 2 on a Thursday. I was in and out and check out was polite quick and effecient. I usually shop ulta online but it was a nice change to browse in person. Got the primer and foundation I wanted. Happy gal!
First time get my brows done a month ago. Went back yesterday. Always a great experience with CodeyAnne, shes a nice pleasant young lady. Will continue to come back to get my brows done.
Came with my wife to find a natural shampoo/face product. The selection on hand is sufficient but many of the products, that claim to be natural, still have a lot of dyes. The customer service was amazing though!I recommend going to Wholefoods if youre looking for a larger selection of natural care products.

I saw an Instagram post featuring a young lady using different products from Ulta. I wanted to know how to get my eyebrows like hers since I have very sparse eyebrows. Not only did the associate look at the video and tell me exactly what was used, she demonstrated and showed me how to achieve the perfect brow! Im very pleased with the service I received and I will be back, especially since they sell MAC cosmetics 😁

I was in today at your store in Newport News on Jefferson and came in after calling. Customer service and being told to come in to get a receipt from over a year ago from January or February because I now have a broken revlon one step . After the employee Lauren did more than the manager did I ended up leaving even more frustrated I just need proof I bought it I now still have a broken tool.Ashley Fulkerson

Only one employee working at check out. Two others standing behind the checkout socializing - one drinking her coffee drink - while one employee doing her best to get the customers through. Three others throwing a blown up ball at each other. Went to get a gel eye liner - what a mess! Lip liner mixed in with different types of liners, colors smeared around. Could not find the color I was looking for. No sense of professionalism or pride in the store.

Always clean inside. Employees are helpful. I returned an item and tried to buy another but it was out of stock in the store. So, the employee ordered the item for me and had it shipped to my house.
I came in with a picture of exactly what I wanted done on my hair, and unfortunately I left very unhappy, as the look was not achieved in the slightest and my (VERY long) hair was completely destroyed from over bleaching it. I was hesitant to come back in because I wasn’t sure if they would be willing to do anything and thought I was maybe over reacting. When I came back in two days later and explained to the salon manager, Ashley, that I was incredibly unhappy, she managed to get me booked in with her that same day in between clients and fixed my hair. I had to part with my long hair, but at the end of the visit, my hair looked exactly how I wanted it to. All three of the ladies that were there that day were incredibly professional, and their customer service exceeded my expectations. I thought with my first bad experience there I would never come back, but based on the customer service and care I received going back in from those ladies, I will surely be booking more appointments in the future.

Good store to make some unexpected cheap finds at times! Also, their moisturizer (botanics brand) is really good if your pores get clogged easily! It was $15 and you only need to touch it with your pinky and it will cover your whole face- Also at the time I bought this moisturizer they gave away a free gift (more stuff for 15 bucks so yay), which consisted of a bag and a clay mask thats actually really nice. Its like sephora but better since every time I go there I buy more but spend less 👍

Ulta was great, the manager is always friendly at these locations. They just need a little more staff on the floor, now with the pandemic. So to get help can be a little challenging at times.
One register open with 5 ppl in line and allowed the woman at the front to actively shop while others were waiting for her to check out. Disappointed.
If I could give it a -10 I would, Ulta has amazing products and my first time going in there I was in love; however, my experience with Christina was by far the worse in my life! I am an African American who was standing in line to check out, & an older Caucasian woman just walked right up and Christina decided to ring her up instead of me. I did not want to think negatively until I stepped out of line and another Caucasian gentlemen spoke and said “you can get in front of me, I saw you standing there just like everyone else did”. I’ve never dealt with this type of thing before but yes I did feel that is was intentional because the older woman looked at me as if it did not matter and Christina just went on to ring her up. I cannot support a business like this and would highly doubt I’d spend another dime in there. Not to mention I was so desperately trying to get to the front to make them aware of a younger Caucasian woman stuffing their products in her bag... but I was so furious with Christina I forgot. I’m sure Christina wont mind because integrity just doesn’t exist in her life. I guess Ulta prefers those type of nasty customers instead of polite & paying customers. 🥴🙄😒
Waited 30 minutes for a pick up order. Checked in through the email plus I was in the marked parking spot. After 20 minutes, I called and the girl hung on me after asking me to hold.

I got my eyebrows tinted for the first time by Rachel at the Benefit Brow Bar. I will NEVER go back there again. She was definitely nice, but did me so dirty. I originally had untouched, thin eyebrows and left with eyebrows that were almost an inch thick. She told me I would get used to them and to ask other people’s opinions. Literally the first thing to come out of both my boyfriend and best friend’s mouths was, “WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO YOU!?” Yeahhh...definitely not the reaction you want to something you just gone done on your FACE. I would not recommend getting your eyebrows done there.

You know the store is beautiful, I love shopping in there. But I’ve noticed, when I come in there looking nice with makeup done, I get wonderful customer service ( actually get acknowledged and asked if I need any help ) but if I go in there without any makeup on or not dress so nice you won’t get anyone to even ask you how you’re doing . That’s the beauty industry for you I guess, all about looks and appearance
A lot of product testers were switched around so i had to check labels for color (i went through and reorganized them correctly because why not). A LOT of the lightest foundations in several brands were out of stock as well so I was a bit disappointed.I love their selection when they have it. At the register the employees were super helpful giving me advice. (Was never offered assistance on the floor so cant comment on it)
I always find what I needed Ulta! I love the fact that I can try out new lip colors foundations and pallets before I buy. The selection is stellar and the prices are reasonable. The staff is always helpful and I love this location.
Laura T did a great job coloring my hair to match my natural color. She went above and beyond to cover my thick long hair and it came out great.
A little expensive but go to Cici! She takes her time on highlights to make sure she is doing the best job possible. She also gave me options on the kind of toner I wanted to make sure my highlights were perfect. She understood the look I was going for and guided me in the right directions for my look.
Good selection
My first visit here since the store relocated from Jefferson Commons. People were friendly and helpful. I found what I needed and also hit the sales. The clearance prices were great and I got a jump on Christmas! I would go there again for certain. :)
This place has come such a long way since it opened. The staff is friendly and they now have a mens section and other mens products throughout the store. Due to the massive improvement Ive upgraded them to five stars. They have a great selection in their inventory and if you join their rewards program you can take advantage of special offers and free gifts. Glad to see that positive change has been made in the last year.
I came in looking for a certain grease and I didnt feel comfortable or welcomed. When I got to the counter to ask for assistance, the clerk looked like she was trying to be busy in order to not help. Then when help did arrive it seemed like they were throwing the information at me as if to say this is what we have. Take it or leave it.
WIDE variety of products for all of your beauty needs!! Some areas were a little cluttered. They were out of stock on a couple of items that I went there specifically to get. One other item I could never find. I asked one associate if they still sold the item and she pointed me in the direction of where the item could find. I told here I had just walked down all the aisles and she told me to go up a little further. OUCH!!! That was poor customer service. I made a point to walk to her, as she was not busy stocking nor was she assisting another customer, for assistance only for her to POINT me to the round about area. Needless to say, I didnt get that item either. I didnt leave yet...I went to the perfume area and the young lady there immediately approached me ready to assist. She told me about the specials, what was new, asked me questions and offered a fragrance suggestion, left me to browse, and returned to check on me!! They need 10 of her on staff!! I walked in there prepared to spend at least $200 but because of the product availability and not being able to find the other things, I did not make a purchase.

Would do 0 stars but my chip didn’t work on my debit card and I had no cash. My chip has been bad for quite some time but I’ve NEVER had a store or restaurant deny it. Usually when I insert it 3 times it prompts me to swipe it and it works. Done. They get the money and I get the product. They wouldn’t let me swipe!!!!! OR it or type in my debit card number. I’ve never heard of this before, they were obviously just trying to be rude and showing poor customer service. Will NEVER come here again after the way I was treated. I will only go to Sephora. The ladies at the front were incredibly snobby and rude and there was no reason for them not to let me type in my number to make a purchase or ATTEMPT to swipe my debit card. Should of asked for the manager.

They have several different cosmetic lines with lots of sales people . Theres also most of top of the line mens and womens fragrances ! Also, they carry the less expensive cosmetics, like Maybelline, Cover Girl, Revlon, and many more !They carry top of line hair care products !

Love this store, its a must have for me now. Only issue I dont like is that when I like a make up product and buy it and use it for a while, then all of a sudden they stop selling it to make room for a new product.

The store itself is in good/great condition most days I go in. I have encountered some very very rude and quite frankly grossly entitled acting employees, these employees were not at the registers they were on the sales floor around the MAC and perfume area of the store. The treatment my family and I recieve/received at the checkout area has always been helpful patient and kind. I have a child with physical disabilities and many of the employees at ulta need some SERIOUS training on how to act and not act around someone who may not look like everyone else. Its a shame I dread going into my favorite store because of how belittling some of the employees are. Especially considering how much money I spend there!
Everyone is pretty nice... for the most part... its kinda hard to get anyone to really ASSIST you but I know what Im looking for when I got in and Im probably more trained than most of the girls in there so I just move along, I feel bad for the people that need help, you probably wont get much

Slightly disorganized compared to other Ultas Ive been too. Things are out of place often and it makes it a bit difficult to run in quickly and find what you need.

Practically bombarded by employees since we walked in as if they thought we were theives. And then when we told someone we wanted to just shop in peace the woman got an attitude and said she was the manager, as if it made any difference, your employees should not make your customers feel like they are suspicious of our every move. My mom and I know how to apply our makeup and I am a good paying customer online and was hoping to just browse around and test products. Unfortunately it seems I can’t do that here.

Walked in and despite at least 6-8 workers being there no one greeted me (not that Im special or anything, just typically they say Hi welcome to Ulta etc). I spent 10 minutes looking for what Id come in for only to find it was sold out in both colors I needed. No one offered to help me but I did get a dirty look from one of the make up girls (I guess I did not look like I belonged, wearing old jeans and boots just coming from the barn.) maybe this was just a bad day for the staff, but I think I will stick to online shopping from now on as I had a similar experience here several months ago.
My gf and I were looking for a specific makeup line. When we asked about it the employee turned up her face and said That line is only available at Sephora. Idk if theres some makeup beef going on but dont get snippy with my girl
I went here because I had a gift card and wanted to sample some make up because its hard to find a color that matches my skin tone. I was watched the whole time and asked 6 times if I need help. The employees harassed me so much that I just left rather than trying to actually purchase make up. I hate this location. The worst one Ive been to.
I went in to try some new foundation and Robin was the MUA that assisted me. She was AHHMAZING!!! Very knowledgeable and patient! I will do to this location just get her opinions and recommendations! The best shopping experience ever! Know Im ready for my family reunion!! Thanks so much Robin!
I walked around for 20min trying to find someone to assist me. When I did finally get help, the girl referred me to the mall when I was clearly looking for a sale item at that particular store. She also offered me a beige foundation that was no where near my dark complexion after I told her the product number and she was staring right at me. I will stick to going to the williamsburg store!
