I am always disheartened to hear when a location is closed because I know that economically challenged folks are able to feed their family with high quality food from Save a lot. I literally love my store. I drop in few times a month just to see what great cuts of meat and great prices the butcher can offer me. I quickly make my way to the meat department to grab some steaks and chops. It’s always fresh never frozen, and I love love love the prices. They recently started up a coupon program, which is hard to believe because the prices are so cheap. They have thee best prices on wine also. Love this store, hope it stays around for a long time.

The staff here are really kind and helpful. The prices are great but not much variety. The produce had flies swarming all over it so I opted not to buy any.However they did have a lot of latin products that I enjoy especially the frsh sofrito.

I like to go in here and get a lot of essentials that I cant get elsewhere at a good price. One thing that I always know I can get here is tuna fish in oil and its always at a great price. They usually always have cilantro on hand as well.

I miss being able to go to the Portsmouth location!!! Unfortunately this location has closed. 💔💔💔. Will have to drive to Norfolk to shop, but its definitely worth the time and gas!!!!!🌈💯 This Chain is and has been Awesome🌠

Item looking for was unavailable, but the gentleman in the meat department was very professional and apologized for the lack of. He informed customers of the availability of the item and the appropriate time. Also, made customers of other sale items that were available, especially customers like me who didnt have a circular. He encouraged you to call to make sure the item had come in on the order. I felt he is an asset to the store, because he could have said nothing and preceded with his stocking and not answer questions or just gave short answers. Will return again..cashier wasnt too friendly maybe too early for her, and that is just my opinion.

Like going there as it is reasonably priced for good products. I did not notice it until I got to check out, but 70 percent of the items were marked down. Bonus!

I hate stores where you need a quarter to get a shopping cart. I didnt know that I needed one and I had dumped all of my change into my granddaughters piggy bank that morning. When I got there with my 2 year old granddaughter, I couldnt get a cart because I didnt have any change. I asked the manager if they had a cart that didnt require payment and he said no. So I went to a register to get change for a dollar and was told I had to make a purchase to get change. The groceries I had intended to buy got bought from walmart instead and I wont be going back to this store again.

The cashier at counter on east little creek was very rude and over charge me, tall black male.

Great place to save money

As a customer that shops here on the regular for a couple things you would think the store manager would be more friendly with you since she sees you in there often. Well that’s not the case. The store manager, “Dreamer” is extremely rude with customers and cops an attitude when she sees you. She is very unfriendly! When it’s time to check out you have to go look for her because she is always in the office sitting down. I’m so sick of the store being so dirty it’s not even funny. Look under the shelves and you will see an inch of dust and debris! Between zero friendliness here and extremely dirty conditions I believe the store needs to be shut down!! I will not shop here any longer! They deserve zero stars!

Pros: The store was clean, organized, and spacious for a small market. The staff were friendly and very mindful of customers moving by them. Everything was well stocked. Prices were wonderful, especially at the end of the month. With everything being close together, it made shopping quick and easy. If youre looking to save a buck or two, look for their produce mark-downs. They often do this when they need to sell something quickly. You could snatch a deal on expensive meats!Cons: I could not find options for fruit snacks, and felt the aisle names werent very clear. And, the alcohol section is right next to the shelves holding boxed pastries, cookies and cakes. This concerns me, since theyre floor level; yes, even the glass bottles. I worry about children possibly hurting themselves if they broke the glass bottles, or biting into one of the mixer pouches.

No frills but its a great place to go when you strapped for cash.

Very good deals ..youll need 25 cent for the carts and bags of your own, they have boxes but its easier to bring your own bags..its as ethnic food aswell so this is a good place to look if your cooking something from another country..the girl was very nice and its fairly clean and no smell..also has some bulk items like sausages and jumbo hot dogs ..I def recommend adding this to the grocery stores you shop at...

I am ASTOUNDED at the experience I just had. I will never shop at this location ever again. I just needed to run in for a cucumber and avocados so I could make sushi tonight.When I got to the register Big Mike immediately started making lewd comments about how I came in for just a cucumber and what I might be planning to do with it and how interestingly shaped it was while making crude gestures with it.Ive never felt so uncomfortable in my life. I shouldnt have to justify my grocery purchases and no one should be subjected to that kind of vulgar behavior. If Big Mike isnt fired for this behavior then he needs to at the very least be taught what is and isnt appropriate with a complete stranger and customer.If I could leave 0 stars for this experience, I would.

Everybody there was very politeI only dont like how youre not doing bags anymore if Id had known it that I would have brought Braggs I used to get emails about your store and I dont do that anymore forsome reason you need to check into whats wrong with your systems and make sure that your email is up-to-date other than that the store is very nice

Friendly people, can get money order, and pay bills.The old IGA services are fantastic.Veggies are ok but not a big turn over. I dont know if it the area or the store!What came first the chicken or the egg?Good sales but not a lot of stuff on sale at the same time.

It opens at 8am right? Well she didnt open the door until almost 815, very aggravating, and when I got in barely any meat was stocked, id say whoever runs this store you should have a talk with your crew because they were seriously running behind

Great store for the basics cant beat the prices. Only drawback when certain Meats go on sale its a mad dash to get it before its gone LOL. Still love this store 20 bucks you can use it walk out with four bags of groceries

This is a good place to go grocery shopping if youre on a budget.The prices are much lower than your traditional grocery store.Sometimes they even offer name brand products on sale.They are usually found in the first isle near the produce

I got there when the store opened and they did not have the meat advertised in their sales ad.When another customer asked a woman working there if they were getting it in;she got rude.The produce and frozen food section was great but I had to go elsewhere for meats.

They had no chicken breast in stock when I asked the associate if they had any I could barely understand what she said she never look me in the eye I had to ask her what did you say and her reply was we wont have any until tonight then when I went up to check out the cashier barely even spoke and when my transaction was completed she just handed me my receipt and never think to me or wish me a good day they definitely dont have any manners .
