Stopped by this cafe and we were blown away by the burst of flavors we were served. Our chechebsa, scone, waffle and all lattes were excellent. Will return for the food the exceptional service! The chai is a must try. 🤤

I am in visiting and my friend and I decided to check this place out. It was amazing! Best everything bagel and coffee I have had in a while .

Staff was nice. Cozy and chill vibe. Double shot espresso was sweet and great. The pumpkin scone was warm and flavorful. Decor has art displays thats available for purchase. One thing ng to note is that it is echoey inside. Overall it was good. Prices are well as I paid just over $6 altogether.

It’s about time that I finally reviewed this place. When they first opened, I was excited since they’re located near my parents’ place. That said, I didn’t have high expectations because many Oak Park coffee shops (exception Blue Max Coffee, RIP and Buzz Cafe is pretty good) are somewhat mediocre. Addi’s surprised me; the coffee has that nice smoky taste and when I visit oak park, I often stop by. The woman who works up front is also a great personality with unique taste in music. Check it out if you need a nice homey spot to read or meet a friend.

I enjoyed a pour over coffee with one of the best avocado toasts to date, a flatbread slathered with avocado and parm flakes piled high on top. Not only were the staff friendly, but the other customers were friendly and smiling too. Its clearly a place to become a regular, but welcomes the new-comers. We sat on the leather sofa they had and enjoyed our time there.

I always feel welcomed, the gusto is our favorite (kids love it) love how the waffle is crunchy on the outside but so fluffy in the inside!!! Super happy they have take out during these times!

Seldom is there a coffee shop where you get consistency of service, and to top it off, you feel genuinely welcomed. This gem of a place is a cozy spot in a not so heavily commuted part of Oak Park, that deserves much recognition.Much appreciation for the people working behind the counter who prepare their coffee, and other beverages and foods with much passion.

Fantastic, tasty waffles and a variety of drinks. We had the savory waffles, lavender waffles and the honey vanilla latte. All were excellent!

I judge every new coffee shop I visit by their chai, which probably seems odd, but Im not a coffee drinker. I have a tendency to believe that if a coffee shop takes care to create an amazing chai, then they must have good coffee as well. Addis Cafe creates homemade chai, and you can request it to be spicier or sweeter. I loved that since chai concentrates are often far too sweet.This coffee shop had some community seating as well as small and medium sized tables for group meets. The internet ran quickly, and the environment was clean and cozy.

I love this place! Great lattes, waffles, and vibe. Their delicious flavored lattes come with beautiful latte art. Ive enjoyed both savory and sweet waffles that push your imagination on how unique and delectable a waffle can be (southwest waffle with avocado and chipotle mayo, anyone? YUM.) This is my favorite place to bring my laptop, order breakfast, and settle in to get some work done in the chill, friendly environment.

Addis is an awesome place for a breakfast meal and coffee/ latte/etc. Very friendly owner and staff and, of course, the coffee drinks are great! Its been our go-to during the pandemic and will continue to be post-COVID. Easily accessible with wifi.

The food was super appetizing. Certainly worth a return trip. Reminds me of a place in New York I liked to visit.

Tried Addis Cafe today, the owner is super sweet, and the coffee and waffles were really good. I got the honey vanilla latte, I highly recommend it. They also display art on their walls that are for sale which is really neat. Would definitely go again

Love the Ethiopian flavors, especially in the Chai tea! Its spicy! The waffles are also delicious, I highly recommend trying out this coffee shop for something extraordinary among all the other local coffee shops.

Very high quality food. Youll wait a little longer and pay a little more but it is well worth it. Addis is a community treasure.

Cute Café, great artwork to buy and look at while waiting for a delicious coffee creation, meal or scone. Very friendly service and there are several hand made items for sale.

Im just adding that I love this place. theyre open, and its still excellent. You have to see the current new art/photo series. I almost took a picture to post here but you have to experience it live.

The egg sandwich was ok. They forgot to put the cheese on my sandwich plus little mayo shirasa sauce. The honey nutmeg latte was good.

Welcoming Neighborhood Spot - I enjoy working from Addis on Friday mornings. Coffee is good, people are friendly, and theres just enough seats without being crowded.

Always so friendly, really tasty menu with limited choices done really, really well (the scones are so good!)They also have, in my opinion, the best coffee in Oak Park/Forest Park/River Forest. Probably Berwyn too, although I havent been to as many coffee shops there.

I love how this place smells. I love the chai. I havent had a chance to try the food, but Id really like to.

Went in for take out this am. Super friendly. Tried the pourover coffee, ginger tumeric tea, egg sandwich and berry scone compote. Everything was delicious. The scone compote was perfect not to sweet. Highly recommend and will be a regular moving forward.

One of the two top coffee shops in town and the one with the MOST amazing lattes and PHENOMENAL WAFFLES. Im excited to see more Ethiopian dishes coming on to the menu, too!!

I am so very glad that we found this place!! Their waffle menu is complete and offers options for everyone, including a truly incredible berry waffle. Good coffee, and yummy Ethiopian dishes that were enjoyed by the whole family.

Very nice place. The cold brew was good. The egg sandwich tasted good, but they could use more sophisticated bread, and give more options.

What can I say about this gem that hasnt already been said? There is no other place in Oak Park that does what they do- the coffee, the food and the atmosphere. The art work, the smoothies, the ginger- turmeric tea. I am so grateful for this place. It is a treat and a staple.

This place is absolutely amazing. The coffee is spot on and the waffles are some of the best Ive had. Ive recently read that the owners plan on shifting the cafe to a restaurant. I love the idea, however Oak Park is seriously struggling to keep a well done, gourmet coffee shop. And though I love Ethiopian food, I think the better business prospect is a coffee house. We all know that operating a restaurant carries slimmer profit margins, more operations, staff, and risk of food inventory spoiling. Coffee businesses are easier to streamline and market to a broader customer base. The coffee business they run today is awesome, and improving daily. I would hate to see something going so well drift to something else. In the mean time, I hope they read my review and consider the restaurant/coffee market and business economics of their options. Having lived here my entire life (27 years) the trend is that food restaurants come and go quickly and there is never a great coffee shop.

Absolutely delicious!!! The savory waffle is to die for. Whod have thunk spicy and cheese would go on a waffle. It is amazing. Fantastic sorry chai latte too! Everything looks as beautiful as it tastes! Pure craftsmanship.

I loved it the first time. This last visit was meh. Not good not bad, just not great. I got Mexican hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin. The coco wasnt as spicy as before and my bb muffin was banana nut. I had no time to go back and correct it (work). I still recommend Addis. They have good cafe food.

Ive lived in Oak Park my entire 21 years of living & just recently started going. After my first visit of getting an iced honey vanilla late, my order is memorized from easy ice to the owner politely correcting my late to an iced honey vanilla.True gem of Oak Park. A little pricey for a 16oz but the coffee is so worth it. Havent tried the waffles but if its as delicious as the coffee, WILL get them soon.Id consider myself a regular thats become memorable to this establishment.

Espresso, tumeric latte and honey vanilla latte are wonderful. This has become my go to coffee shop. Easy to miss but worth finding. They do have breakfast items as well-havent had them yet but they look amazing.

Love this place! Coffee is great, service is personal and great, the waffles and other items are top notch. I long to go there some winter day when theres 2 feet of new snow on the ground and lazily sit in the warm indoors sipping coffee half the morning.

The iced tea I had was amazing! Very nice atmosphere and very clean. Parking was surprisingly simple and I look forward to trying the turmeric latte next time.

I was hesitant to go to a place that doesnt have a website and only serves waffles, coffee, and chai. But the food and chai was FANTASTIC. Im looking forward to great service and delicious waffles again.

The pour over coffees are each made to order. They make delicious crunchy yet spongy waffles (think delicate balance of your favorite brownie), and they make yummy scones and eggy bagels. We enjoy their community vibe and lightning fast Wi-Fi. High quality local art adorns the walls and touchs of Ethiopian flair embellish the space with nod to the owners heritage. Just steps from the blue line el train, this cafe is perfect for a pick-me-up before popping downtown. Great service, nice guests. Well be back time and again.

If you like spicy chai tea, this is it!!

Don’t recommend eating eating the food. Male employee did not wear gloves and bare handled my bagel to cut it and put cream cheese on. He also bare handled several of the scones, muffins, etc. His main function between the three employees was food - there was a cashier, barista, and he toasted the food.

Homey feel and good coffee

Every time, I come to Addis, the service is always warm and personal and the menu keeps you coming back. The Cayenne Mocha is my favorite. Addis fits well into all that is Oak Park!

Service and atmosphere is friendly, but it took fifteen minutes to get a double espresso and mocha with no one else in line. Espresso was extremely sour :/

Ive had the best coffee here in my life. Idk how but they make the best americanos for me. Usually coffee has a burnt taste in my mouth but theirs is really smooth and delicious. They have true craftsmanship there. Plus the waffles were good too. I had mine to go so i didnt get the real experience. Still golden brown and fluffy though.
