Car got hit while parked, had to go to OPD first to pay 166.00 for a release before going here to have my insurance company have thier tow company pick up my vehicle. They keep the cars right next to the flea market. But the office is around the corner. The staff is cool.

Vehicle was stolen, this tow yard picked it up as per their contract with the city of Oakland. The call I got from Oakland pd stated that it was damaged, but not stripped and the plates were still intact. Do these photos look like its not stripped?!? This is the condition off it when I got there the day after they picked it up of the streets Had I realized that the message from Oakland pd said that it WASNT stripped Id have had some questions for them. Id love to have heard theyre excuses as they fumbled around trying to explain what they did. This place steals vehicles, dismantles them pre-emptively, and has unreal prices for towing and vehicle storage. They should be shut down.

My car is stolen and towed by this company. All looks good (very easy to handle paper work, you do not need to wait too long time), as long as your insurance can handle the charge, it seems kind of/very expensive to me. (I will the lower rate if it turns out I have to pay the tow.)BTW, they have extra parking lot (~5 mins away by drive), so make sure you drive over.

I cant complain at all because I was satisfied with the help I got from Auto Plus towing, continue doing the good job even at other people who experience what I have just experienced

Worst service service ever! Im not sure how anyone here has a job! None of the people here know anything about your car!! They will damage your car! Plus the people here lie to customers.I strongly encourage anyone who has to come here to take plenty of photos. If you go there to view your vehicle (perhaps because you cant afford to get the car out just yet) take pictures before and after they release it to you.They towed my girlfriends car without tires but would not release the car until our own tow company brought it out. Just in case you missed it, they towed it in but wouldnt tow it to the streets to have our mechanic put the tires back on the car. Make sure you have your insurance ready because this company doesnt care about you or your car. They will laugh about you not knowing about the damages they have caused.

My buddys car was stolen. This company picked it up per city contract kept it for a month w/o telling him. They then told home he had 2 days to pay $1600 in fees or it was getting crushed and they werent willing to negotiate.

This company partners with the City of Oakland and OPD. They take advantage of poor people. They make a business out of towing and selling stolen cars. Other cities give owners the chance to pick up their stolen car, Oakland and Auto Plus chooses to immediately tow, with a fee of $350+, preventing many people from ever recovering their vehicle. They prey on the vulnerable, use our tax dollars to operate, and they steal cars and strip them in the yard. Terrible experience.Edit: they also charged me an extra $100 for special equipment. I came prepared to pay the amount they told me on the phone, but it ended up costing more. This could not be explained further. When I towed the car home, no special equipment was needed. They take advantage of people who are in a tough situation. I had to borrow money and nearly lost my vehicle forever.

Horrible people to deal with and if you left anything valuable in your car I bet you its gone. Business is ran by a meatball of a woman who is clearly enjoying spending the money she makes. As oakland city towing / impound they are guaranteed to be profitable pandemic or not. Taking their contract with the city should be simple. Only the crouption keeps them

$400 to get my car back after it was stolen, predatory business, kicking people when they are down. Dont know how they sleep at night.

They tow “STOLEN VEHICLES” for the city of Oakland and then hold those vehicles hostage from the victim. Period. And if you can’t afford the exorbitant rates ($260.00 per 1/2 hour tow-$100 per day storage) they are more than “willing” to keep your car instead to cover the costs. Basically your car is stolen a second time and held for money. Add to that the Oakland Police Department actually sanctions this legal criminal behaviour. I would NEVER get my vehicle fixed here knowing this is how they treat victims of theft. Period. I live in SF. We are fortunate to have a Police Department that doesn’t victimise people a second time. Since SF has proven it’s possible to do that maybe the city of Oakland and Auto Plus should look into ways to respect our communities. In the meantime stay away from this place unless you are forced to deal with them. Paying them to perform car any repairs is like paying drug cartels to rehab you. It’s a sham. Period

Welcome to Dantes inner most ring of hell. Car stolen, CHP called these geniuses. I go to one of their locations wait forever, am told my vehicle is at another of their locations. I paid 310 dollars to get my stolen vehicle back--I got robbed twice! These people are thieves and cretins--I would say Dont do business with them! But you aint got a choice! Tow companies are a license to rob honest folk. Hope their owners burn in the hell theyve created for innocents.

Its your basic Auto till and auction I sell the cars they will start them up let you look under the hood if you get there early enough for a preview but theres no disclosure on mileage whether or not there any engine or motor problems so you take your risk depending on what time of the month it is is whether or not youll get a good deal or the prices will be ridiculous

It wasnt a very good experience took a long time to get through to speak with someone when I finally got through they told me my car was there but I had to go to another location to find my car which was stolen I hope no one else has to go through this the towing was very expensive and the storage was outrageous the poor man can just never win I hope no one else has to go through what I went through.

Car was stolen and police had this company tow my vehicle on January 13th. I picked it up the very same day within 4 hours and they wanted to charge me $360. I attempted to pay but the workers would not assist me. I was able to take my car from the tow yard without paying first. I’m trying to pay the fee but their email account is wrong on their website. Every time I email them the mail gets returned. I tried to call and pay but I cannot reach a live human being. Now the fee keeps raising even though they DONT even have my car in the tow yard. Trying to find out how to pay fee but I have not been successful.

They are worse than the worst at best.

This place will rob you. My vehicle was stolen and when Oakland PD found it they had it towed here. I was excited that it was recovered, but when I called Auto Plus I was told I had to pay 450.00 to get it out. Then my father called back 20 min later and he was told we had to pay 560.00 and its 100.00 more everyday its in there. How it went from 450.00 to 560.00 in 20 min. is highway robbery. I called oakland pd and I was told that the tow company may not know that the vehicle was stolen thats why, so I called back and informed them that it was stolen and they really didnt care stolen or not in order to get my vehicle i need to come up with almost 1000.00 (this was a few days from the initial call) For a vehicle that was stolen from me something out of my control. Customer service sucks very rude. I dont know how a company can rob innocent people like that.

In regards to the front office at the Tow Yard. Very unprofessional customer service! I understand they may deal with alot of B.S. When a vehicle owner is retrieving their stolen vehicle having to pay fees know fault of their own, Have a little compassion!!!!!

OMG - this tow yard should be shut down. i am going to my city council - Oakland to complain. This tow yard has a contract with the city, the city should also be responsible.,

I would rate this place a -10 if I were allowed. In the few hours between my husbands car accident to the time they opened, someone there had emptied his trunk. All his carpentry tools, parts for our sons car and other items were stolen. They were in there when the car was loaded on their flatbed and missing when they opened a few hours later! BEWARE!

Extorted me in a parking lot when they hadnt even towed my vehicle yet. Wouldnt let me leave till I paid them money. Got grease all over my vehicle and tried moving it without taking it out of gear. The driver was not professional or courteous. However, when I called the home office they were professional. I am holding judgement to see if the manager does what is right and returns my money that the driver extorted from me. I will update this review if they do the right thing. Here is hoping for compassion, humanity and doing the right thing!

If you do not have to deal with this place, do not. Heres why:1. Their phone tree is almost impossible to navigate to know how to reach a live person.2. The email on their website does not work & bounces back leaving you nowhere. It it is not a working email it should be removed from the website!3. Once you do actually get a hold of someone they do not provide assistance or any ways to assist you but actually tell you they cannot help you!They simply state they will relay your information to a manager who they cannot tell you when that person will call you.Relations with people does not appear to be one of their skills which makes it very difficult to achieve anything with this business.

Tried to present me the total $ amount on a sticky note, it was $615 for an opd tow. Then when I asked to see a breakdown she came back a few minutes later with another sticky note that said $535. I was charged $150 for special equipment which was simple listed as $50 or more on the fee board In the room.

Ive been dealing with this company for a year. The dispatcher at night is a douche. Nothing but issues with him only 75% of the time. The drivers all think hes got issues as well.Advising client to end contract with this company.

Not only did i have to deal with my van being mistakenly towed. But not i have to deal with the police for property damage. Mel and the heavy set white woman are completely unprofessional. I went to retreive my van and found my bumper had been ripped off. Avoid this company if you can

If you buy from a lien sale (auction) make sure every detail is correct and the paperwork is on the up and up. We bought an RV, fake tag along with fake paperwork. Cant register it because it was non recoverable junk. Out $3000 bucks! What should be done?

Horrible people. If your car gets stolen they do their best to gauge you as hard as possible. The lazy nasty women that answer the phone are hard to understand, maybe high school graduates for dealing with the public?

I dont agree whit the way OPD and APT conducts its business. Victims of stolen cars are punished further by paying high fees. Whether they decide to keep or regain their cars. Note to car thiefs: please destroy the car if you decide you dont want it. We are better off!

They wreck cars they tow and then charge exorbitant fees. Get towed on a Sunday morning, pick it up on a Monday, and pay $462 in addition to the police fee.
