This place is great for people who like to do work or hang out in a coffee shop. They have great coffee, friendly employees, and ample seating space. They are open relatively late for a local coffee shop, and I enjoyed my trip there. They serve breakfast and lunch as well! I will come back and recommend the place to my friends.

I love their coffee and their service but the entitled privilege people going with dogs and expecting you to move for them is a no no for me. Great coffee, but unfortunately it attracts the Mark Zuckerberg wanna be tribe. 🤣

Delicious coffee! I got the Matador, and it was really yummy. It is pretty sweet, so if you dont love super sweet, Id recommend something else. The morning bun and pumpkin bread were also delicious. The service was excellent!

Gorgeous spot and a great iced americano. There are heat lamps so you can enjoy sitting outdoors (among their succulents) without getting cold.

This is a really nice spot for some fun food and coffee or tea. Its outside but covered so I can enjoy the sun without getting burned. You can dine in or take out. I has bacon quiche and a butterfly pea tea with sparkling lemonade. Seems busy but not crowded, fun guests! I felt very welcomed here. Will definitely be back to try more stuff.

Great coffee and a surprisingly delicious breakfast sandwich

The most amazing Americano Ive had in a really really long time. This is the most quant place. Adorable baristas. This little place back in the cut did not disappoint!

I love my coffee, but was disappointed when I ordered a double oatmilk latte for $5.75 and couldnt taste the coffee. No big deal, as that has happened at other places, and I purchase an extra shot of espresso to add to my latte. Unfortunately, the young woman at the register told me it would cost me $3.25 to add the extra shot. I was shocked to say the least, and that would have meant that my latte would have totaled $9 at that point!!! NEVER coming back again!

Equator has quickly become one of my favorite coffee places in Oakland. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming; we come so often they are beginning to know us by name! The coffee is well roasted and they offer vanilla syrups for those of us who like to cover delicious coffee flavor with sugar (Im guilty of this!).

Had an Ecuadorian pour over, highly recommend it was superb

Great cafe that has been operating for pickup orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their coffee is delicious. They serve the usual espresso drinks, pourover coffee, tea, and an assortment of pastries. You can also buy their coffee beans of you prefer to brew your own. They have a convenient mobile app for placing online orders, and orders are processed quickly. The Lake Merritt location is small and parking can be a bit tight (there is only street parking), but Ive always been able to get a spot after a couple passes.

This place is very close to my office. The staff have a great attitude and are friendly. Unfortunately, my order is correct only 60% of the time. Of course, they offer to redo it each time, however, I am usually on a time crunch. The veggie scone is tasty.

Cool little spot close to Lake Merritt. Nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee or tea in the midst of the urban jungle. If youre walking by, give it a try. If youre driving, drive right on by - youll never find a parking spot.

It’s mine and my dogs favorite spot to walk to from our apartment. Excellent service m, good music and great coffee. I tried the single origin espresso today and it was worth the extra $! Try it!

Drinks ate good for the most part. But if youre in a hurry go elsewhere. You will wait forever. Its nice that they added the heat lamps. Tons of dogs there with there owners. You matu want to avoid if your dog is skittish

Got a vanilla latte... Very earthy taste to the coffee...Im not saying its not good for you, it just wasnt the type of quality coffee beans Im used to from higher altitudes.As far as the staff goes, they are down to earth, helpful, and pretty chill. Great atmosphere.

It is such a cute spot with indoor and outdoor sitting area. Great place to meet friends but wouldnt recommend it for work. Its usually very crowded and loud. If you like sweet coffee try the New Orleans with almond milk. It is delicious.

Convenient, tasty coffee with friendly staff. Can be short staffed and slow... prepare to wait and do so under the heating lamps.

I both love and am always a bit disappointed here. The coffee is great, the staff are generally pretty friendly, but service and delivery almost always miss. From getting the wrong drink, wrong size, or just having to wait a while. I want to love this place more as going to Whole Foods across the street lacks the same neighborhood vibe.

I go there for a certain blend of Equator Coffee I love the coffee. The employees all the time tell me what I like what I dont like what I should like and what I should have tried, at the end of the day they told me they dont have the blend I was looking for. It would have been nice if the gentleman just told me nicely we dont have it today🙁

I live next door and overall love it. Two suggestions- there is often a tiny rung of a pastry left by the time I get there. Not sure it’s fair to charge full price for it. And.. I feel the baristas would get better tips if you could put in increments of less that $1 on the machine. I’d prefer to leave something rather than nothing but I can’t do $1 several times a week. Otherwise keep up the good work!

This is such a gem in Oakland. I love that they have rotating single origin espressos and drop offerings. The patio is the best for people watching and chilling with a great cup of coffee. Recently tried the pumpkin bread and croissant - great food along with the coffee.

Very hip Urban setting right in Downtown Oakland across from Whole Foods. Equator make some of the best coffee you will ever drink. The granola bars they were sampling yesterday were terrific. Many other excellent, sweet and savory fresh baked goods too.

An open air and sunny little spot. Equator serves the best coffee, the baristas are always friendly, and many customers bring along their dogs to sit on the porch. Additionally, the shop has the most amazing arrangement of succulents, making it the perfect atmosphere for a quick snack and refreshment. I recommend the bran muffin (I never thought I would find one that I like!) and their scratch caramel latte.

In my opinion one of the best matcha lattes. Tastes creamy and smooth with just enough caffeine. Also like the coffee lattes and the snack are unique to Equator.

Really friendly staff. Sandwich made to order. Had the egg and Swiss served on an English muffin and it was delicious.

Nice, little, out of the way outside space to converse or read. Coffee is decent in a competitive market, but doesnt seem to carry over the quality of the Proof Lab local.

This location is by the Whole Foods at bay place in Oakland not too far from lake Merritt. The structure is made out of a shipping crate and you cant miss it as youre driving/walking by. Coffee is decent but overpriced and in some cases just plain out ridiculous. I selected one of the pour overs which was $5. Ill end it there

Warning: I found a piece of plastic in my sandwich and I should’ve stopped eating as it was such a strong ominous sign. Unfortunately, I didn’t. Later that night, I had food poisoning and I swear I won’t come to this place anymore.

I love this place!!! I ordered the Roobis Chai Latte and it was amazing with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice, such to be expected from any good Chai. The area is also wonderful and the staff were especially polite, friendly, and responded to everyones order in a timely fashion. 5/5 stars for sure and would highly recommend this place to anyone near the Lake Merritt area.
