Good news Cafe had solid food 😊

Great prices and very fast service. Good coffee too! Due to the pandemic this is literally a hole in the wall now, but they have two little benches outside so you could enjoy your coffee while seated as well. Very happy to have the Good News Cafe in the neighborhood.

Delightful sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Nice staff and cute storefront just a block over from Lake Merritt. Yum!

Great made to order sandwich! The Italian had fresh ingredients and was expertly made. Prices are very reasonable for what you get however the use of something other than standard sandwich bread would add some excitement.

Good coffee, chai lattes, and the lox bagels are great too. Plus the people who run it are so kind. Exactly the kind of small stop-by spot you want to have as a neighbor.

I come here all the time for coffee and bagel sandwiches. Never disappointed!

Good breakfast food and coffee to go if you are in the neighborhood. Not really a sit down type of place (no seating). Close to the lake.

Lovely little coffee shop near the lake. Bagel sandwich was great, latte was great and Fair Trade, and the little outdoor seating section has a good view of the lake while you eat said bagel sandwich

I love coming here for a morning cappuccino and sandwich or smoothie! So happy Good News exists!

Great little shop! Pricing was cheap and good was good too! I dont know what the inside is like as of right now because of the pandemic but Ill update/adjust my rating as soon as I can give a full review should anything be different. But as far as the overall experience went, it is an excellent little Cafe.

Small, little shop with tons of options. Their menu is literally huge.I came here to eat breakfast and read a book. Small seating space (4 seats inside), but its quiet, the service is great and the food is delicious and affordable.

Its basic and small with an extensive menu for its size. It was too warm inside, and some of the steel chairs outside have broken backs. Its on a nice little stretch of street, near Lake Merritt. Not much else around for coffee. Its dinky but cheap.

Great bagels and coffee! I rate coffee shops by their plain lattes and this place has very good lattes. The staff was kind and helpful. This is a great hole in the wall place with not much seating inside but there is some outdoor seating. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get a light snack to eat there or take to Lake Merritt.

Great little hole in the wall, with an extensive menu, and very kind staff. Seating for around ten people max, both inside and out. Excellent for a quick coffee, tea, or smoothie.

A friend took me to this place and the food was great. We ordered and I thought my wallet would be thinner but the prices were very reasonable.

I live nextdoor. Coffee is fine, bagels and pastries are okay, but hot food is all microwaved and mediocre, service is perfunctory and unenthusiastic. I still go there all the time for convenience

Quick, friendly service and nice quality menu items for low prices :)small space, so dont plan to stay but the lake is easily walkable from this location!
