I like the fresh food and many great on the go snacks love the fresh sandwiches but they did take my favorite meat from the sandwich area because it wasnt making money and there sushi make me sick but that my stomach being sensitive because my grandfather eats it and doesnt get sick but I think now I dont come as much as much because of the sandwich meat, prosciutto not being there anymore. They make great sandwiches and the bakery and deli have awesome patience theyre really kind and overall they arent bad at make food I love there produce area there fruits and vegetables are fresh and there frozen foods have many different varieties overall I just wish prosciutto was back in the sandwich area 😋 🥖😅😑😑😑

A well-stocked big Safeway with efficient cashiers and rarely a long wait. The parking lot often has some litter and occasionally a homeless person.Good location near the freeway and other stores. Large parking lot is rarely full.

The energy in the store is awesome i had to look twice to make sure i was in safeway, The morning employees are amazing specially may in the deli i come get my chicken from her.

Its a safeway. on fruitvale. that clearly isnt on the top ten safeways to remodel list. or top 100. so, a bit like stepping back in time.

This Safeway sorta seems ghetto but as a white middle aged male I have never felt like I was not accepted here when you want a gallon of milk and some Oreos they got you covered.

I was physically assaulted by a man at the checkout counter in this Safeway on April 16th 2021.I called the police made a report, contacted corporate, still havent heard from anyone. I guess they dont care! Shop at your own risk! Im sure they would have gone above and beyond had it been their mother, grandmother, family member involved!! I figure since it was black on black they minimized the whole incident. I will never step foot in this store ever again!

I left my wallet at the checkout and my wonderful cashier Charlotte discovered it and turned it in. 🙂

One of the older and smaller Safeway stores. Often very crowded but the addition of self-checkout has speeded up the checkout lines. Good to have a chain grocery store in the neighborhood along with the wonderful Farmer Joes for produce and other items.

This shop is my go-to shop for my grocery needs. I really like this place a lot because they had a bit of everything that you needed. The salmon that I bought from this shop was so fresh and affordable as well. The entire place was so clean and smells good. The lady at the counter was so friendly and accommodating. A highly recommended grocery shop.

Not my regular store so little harder to find what I wanted but staff friendly and helpful.

I usually have my son shop in for me but I had to do it myself to Dad to get a shot but walking around everybody was friendly and stuff and then they got me out of there quick cuz I had frozen food I grabbed and its hard cuz I like talking to people in the store because were all been cooped up so long

Great store always clean and staff are nice Ive been going for years. Try to go early since COVID-19 you may have to stand in line outside sometimes but usually when its later in the evening. Lines do love pretty fast though.

Great place to shop

Cashiers are nice, so is the deli staff. I come here pretty regularly - neighborly feel to it. The parking lot can be a bit full and busy, but there is more parking on the size.

I like this store. Its always clean, the service is great and the meat and produce is always fresh. The only issue I had was self check out because of the new machine. It takes a while to scan because the machine talks after each scan & it was pretty slow for me. I scan items fast & go but it took longer than usual. This store has a deli & meat department as well. Overall my experience is always good here.

I am disabled and I have to get my medication from Safeways theyre handicapped cart electric one is out for repairs I have serious trouble walking past 20 ft I asked them could they get a replacement its been 2 weeks I need my medication Ive always used the handicap electric cart I found it very efficient by them not getting the replacement its making it very difficult for me to get my medication I need thank you

They have added a few more self check outs in recent years which is really helpful if you only have a few items. The lines can get long at this store.

Since I wanted to know, I thought I would share so others know as well...this Safeway store does not have an in-store bakery, but they have bakery goods. Not as fresh, such as the French bread, and with limited quantities. Smaller store with a small parking lot.

This is an excellent Safeway located in a great neighborhood! It is conveniently located in the heart of the Dimond district in Oakland. This location has the same wonderful selection that you find at almost all Safeways in the area. The store is never crowded on the weekends, even during major sporting events. The store employees are managing the Covid situation very well and every one wears masks while in the store. The cashiers are very quick and efficient and are very helpful in filling up the bags for you. This location also has a great parking lot that seems to have endless room and feels safe to leave your car while you shop for your groceries. Overall I like visiting this Safeway and always look forward to using this location for my grocery shopping.

Went for starbucks BUT I must say the cashier order taker seemed like she didnt know what she was doing. I had to repeat myself several times. Maybe she was new who knows.

Quick and easy during essential shopping, or at the very least, steady. Everyone wears a mask like they know how to act. Its literally a Safeway to buy groceries.

As a Real Estate Agent, I can be out on the road for hours. With Covid restrictions, Its a relief to know that I can stop into a Safeway to refresh myself as well as grab a snack.

A very disorganized store. Nothing seems to be where it would/should be. The amount of locked case for everyday products is really awkward. If you go to CVS 2 blocks away none of the same things are behind locked cabinets. Constantly having to page a staff member and wait for them to open a door for moisturizer or hair dye seems like a waste of time and resources.

There were some sketchy ladies out front but they seemed to only be affecting themselves. The inventory was stocked and I didnt feel like It was an unkept store. The nice thing about a Safeway is that they all seem to have a certain standard.

I always go to Safeway to get my regular food staples and such. Very clean and organized well. Love their rotisserie chicken and fresh pineapple.

Found everything I needed. Steaks were amazing and the sale price was awesome.

No cold teas which, they should have some cold spring and summer is coming soon.

They fail to enforce their own mask policy. When asked they told me they cant refuse service, which isnt true. Someone who packs bags at Safeway isnt qualified to interpret the law, even so its pretty easy to understand. So stupid.

I love my Safeway app thats where all the real deal are at. I love that you can load them to your number so clipping. This Safeway is on the smaller side but opens at 6am I love that the deli and coffee shop inside is also open! They have a great florist.Oh cant forget $5 Fridays!!!

Great place to go shopping for food & other items

I go here a lot due to its location and my need for something mite convenient. The truth is IT IS A SMALL TO MID-SIZED STORE. I THINK THEMANAGER DOES A EXEMPLARY JOB FASHIONING WHAT HE DOES out of what he had to work with. Although it does equate to long lines and most times irritated customers. Preheat than that the veterans is the place are delightful and full of desire to help you. It really shows. The manager (young as he is) is quite the breathe of fresh air compared to your average manager at a food store. He even tried to help me to load a prepaid card they dont even carry OR service! Hate off to these guys. They are younger in years but each tries their best to muster up as much maturity as possible. Kudos to the whole team (crew) at late afternoon to night! Keep up the good work! 😍
