I am really glad there is a store like this in the neighborhood! I wish the owners did a better job checking the expiration date of their products. Unfortunately I have bought expired products and you can see expired goods even now on the shelves. Please bear that in mind when you go there!

I’ve only been here twice and both times I’ve run into food that was wildly past the sell by date and clearly expired. This is from today (April 3rd, 2021); the best before date on the cheese was nearly 3 months ago. Nothing on your receipt will be named; mine just says “groceries” for a few things. Shady place for sure. Stay away if you value your and your family’s health.

Great shop with a wide variety of items. Was in a bit of a hurry so I couldnt take it all in. I asked about a specific candy that some Russian friends recommended and the helpful clerk knew exactly what I was looking for. They were fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. So glad I found these locally and didnt have to go through Amazon to get them. Ill definitely be back to try other things.

Huge selection of Russian grocery items. Just be sure to look at the expiration dates before you check out; a few things are expired sometimes. Staff is very friendly and store is not ever crowded even though its small.

Best (and only) shop in the East Bay for Russian and other Eastern European necessities. Frozen stuff, boxed dinners, fresh caviar, пельмени, breads, tons of imported beers and wines, you name it. Its the only place I go to for my Euro needs.

They sell expired food!!! I am noticing this for the second time, unfortunately after I bought it. Today it was sunflower seeds that expired 4 months ago!!! They were extremely hard, and then I saw they were expired.

In the East Bay, you are NOT going to find a better Eurasian store than this one. You need to go to San Francisco to find anything comparable. Please keep in mind this is not a fresh foods grocery store, but canned, frozen, and pickled items from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and MORE!!! Do check the expiration date, in the past and rare occurrence i have found items past its due date (ie: ice cream or cream cheese desserts). Like I said it is NOT often, but it happens since it is a long distance delivery to their store.

Just bought this candies. Best before date was hidden and it is September 20, 2014!!! On the package label is expensive ukranian candy company “Roshen”, but inside is mostly cheap russian “Spartak”’s and “Rotfront” candies and just 2 of Roshen. It’s ridicules! They should be checked by inspection!

A nice selection of easter European goods and snacks. The lady who I assumes owns the place is very friendly and willing to offer suggestions and recommendations for things you can get from a given country for instance, though be careful she doesnt talk you into buying too much! Their selection rotates every so often, so you might call ahead if you want to go back for more of the same things. A very fun shop to visit.

Small selection, foods that are sold are old and their freshness date is highly questionable. I bought honey cookies that were old and dry, and chocolates that tasted like a knock off and not the genuine chocolate that Im used to under this name.
