I love this store Ive been going to the store since I was a little girl Im from Berkeley but my aunt lived out here in East Oakland and always love going there and they have huge lobster tails that are for $30

It makes me so angry that the people of East Oakland have to use this as a grocery store! Wilted produce, stanky meat, very limited selection AND THE HIGHEST PRICES OF ANY STORE IN A 1,000 MILE RADIUS!! The owners of this store should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of the people of the East Oakland community!!!

A great neighborhood supermarket

It seams it’s always dirty looking. What I mean bye that is it’s not inviting. And front cashier counter is alway nasty. Meats are good depending on what you buy. Parking lot is very unsafe. Can’t shop there again. And outside makes you very fearful. They to clean inside and outside up. And they have bad vegetables and fruit. Like it’s been there a while

Its the hood liquor store / grocery store. You pretty much get what you see. Because its in the middle of East Oakland and there arent a lot of other options around they are higher-priced. But if you dont feel like going all the way to the grocery store its easy to stop hit the meat market and grab a couple items. Definitely not the place to grocery shop because it can get kind of expensive. Theres always somebody selling something in the parking lot. Their parking lot also has one of my favorite taco trucks. You can go in there and cash a check if you need to or just get you a meat packet. Pretty simple. What I will say is that all the people there are very nice. You become a familiar face because theyve been there so long.

I went there for meat. Everyone in there was so nice. In the refrigerated section there was some potato salad it was called Danas Place Always Gluten Free Potato Salad it was the best potato salad I had ever had. No lieI had never heard of this kind before unlike the ones you buy and have to add something well with this potato salad its all good.You really should try it. It is on isle 9 in the refrigerated section.

I get whatever I may need at the house if Wal-Mart.or target.or Safeway is far away I can always count on food king for temporary needs.

I love being able to get the things that me and my family loves and need... At the moment we have know car to get to Walmart or Target, Safeway... So thankful that Foodking you is no longer then 5 minutes away and the people are not uptight about taking the time to meet and talk about the things that me and my wife loves to get at the best prices

When I want to put together a southern meal I was raised on I come here. Being a native of Louisiana there are particular items used in the preparation of a down home southern meal. Thanks food king

Out the store, although it had a large fenced parking lot there were random unsavory types loitering about. Another releiving himself on the side of the building. I seen no security anywhere which definetely did not feel safe. I only made it several steps inside the entrance..? The store appeared dimly lit and poorly maintained......

Been going there since I was 12, I am now 27. They are always polite and helpful. Good prices on most items and they are nice people. My grabbed a fruit from the shelf and started eating it before I was able to take it away. I didnt have enough money for it and they just let her have it because they understood she was just a child. Shes only 3 and most stores would have made it a point to make me pay for it. I like how they run their store

I go there to cash my checks, and they have a good meat place where you can buy in bulk. But the area is drug territory. Thats the only down fall.

I used to go to this place since I was a kid and I was back in the early 80s. So a good place to shop but bring your gun when you come.i hate to say it but its the truth.please leave a brave person not a punk in your car to watch your belongings.dont show fear or they will see thru you & feast THATS THE TRUTH. Go in the morning on the 1st open is our best bet. I staff that own the place do nothing to keep the bums in idiots away

The young boy at the register was too busy flirting with a previous customer . I waited patiently for him to ring me up for a loaf of bread. I handed him a $20 dollar bill, he gave me $3.50 back?!. I didnt cause a scene, but I only had $40! I Dont KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE THEY HAVE GIPPED, BUT IT WAS NOT GOING TO BE ME. If He wasnt too busy trying to hook up with someone his till wouldnt have been short! long story short he gave me 18.50 and claimed if he loses his job I know why. NOT My Problem .

I only go here for one thing when Im in town. Seems like they have a variety of meats. Though I question how clean this place is. It seems to always have a nasty smell.

Before ghazallis there was food king the bootleg nieghborhood walmart. Check cashing, pay bills,groceries,meat market,metro pcs and liquor store and taco truck.

Check cashing folks can be downright awful but the grocery cashier is friendly the meat market has an ok selection of cuts. The taco truck outside is bomb, check out their al-pastor burritos!! The older black guy in the liquor store has been there for decades. Overall its an ok spot. Sure sometimes you have to check the expiration tag on some of the items to make sure your not buying spoiled groceries, but its the hood and its all we got.

This place is so disrespectful no customer service they prices is high only thing thats good is the check cashing place for all I care this place can be shut down I went that one day to purchase some meet the guy took my card and I put my code in for my card I thought the purchase went through so Im walking out with the meat he runs up to me with my baby in the stroller I was saying you dont want to pay I said so I thought I just paid he said no I told you to go to the other machine he didnt tell me nothing like that theyre very rude and I will be my last time there I would not refer anybody to go to Food King it needs to be shut down
