Ive used this particular store for a while and the service is pretty good! They are friendly. they do their job and send you on your way!!!
Only use for truck rentals. They advertise top notch tow-hitch installation and tell you 30 minutes so you stick around and confirm payment but don’t expect to be out of there any quicker than 2 and a half hours. Standard locations take 30-45 mins.
Terrible experience! I get there to return the truck 20 minutes before they close, but they suggest that I refill the tank in a gas station near by. I go there, come back at 7:01pm, and they close the fence in front of me and charge me $20 extra for after hours service. Never again!
Super professional and friendly, best experience Ive had renting a moving truck. Facility is clean and the process is really efficient (and covid safe). Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Its really a one stop shop for all things moving.
I wasn’t too impressed with the service when I came to pick up the truck. The truck itself smelled like weed and cigarettes I’m not sure if there’s anything they can even do about it but I really appreciated the employee who received the truck. He was probably the nicest out of all of them. Overall good experience
Great experience! Ricky quickly helped me adapt a tow package on my RAV4. Super responsive, the right expertise, executed quickly, and fairly priced. Couldnt have asked for better.

This was the best U-Haul experience I’ve had! The check-in at 7am was fast and they had all my requested materials. The truck was clean and worked well. Return was very fast and staff quickly processed everything. Thanks for a great experience!
Funny you would think you would ever really rate a Uhaul place but I had to because everyone was just beyond nice, friendly and quick. Very professional and helpful. (The young lady that worked on 12/15 and the older gentleman that checked me out on 12/16.Ive rented before and it was not this smooth. Thanks for saving me a headache on my move in day.
Talk about a nightmare! Below is the original review that I decided to delete once the Field Relief Manager, Bee Osalbo, called on October 1st 2020 to say a partial refund would be on its way within 7-10 days. Here we are at the end of the month, no refund, NO RESPONSE from Bee after 5 attempts, just a joke of customer service this guy is.The entire Uhaul experience was terrible.We bought boxes from Uhaul, they all arrived in different shipments, a mess for living in a city building. We never received the markers and those type of small items. So immediately we had to go purchase those.We, being two young people in San Francisco, only living there a year, not having a car, selected 100 Valencia for the pickup given our situation.We did this weeks in advance, and yet at checkout we were finally informed a 24hr confirmation. We were moving across country, 30 hours, and flew my dad in to help. 24hr confirmation is a JOKE.And then to realize we had to rent a car to pickup our Uhaul?? What is wrong with you people? This is the opposite of service!! You made us not only drive to get the Uhaul, but we had to pay TWO tolls we wouldnt have paid because of this.Rewind to never receiving the confirmation... so its 24hrs away and still no confirmation. So I call the Valencia location only for them to literally argue that we were called. You want my call logs from Sprint?? Id be happy to furnish.Fast-forward to pickup in Oakland, we arrive. The incompetence of the kid running the front counter is absolutely the epitome of shaking my head. What a punk. The truck that I confirmed just the day before as road worthy had a crack in the windshield and no dollies to be found... in addition to being forced into an industrial area in Oakland to pickup the Uhaul.When I said how poor of service it is that all these people sitting around couldnt be better employed by transporting trucks where they should be instead of making the RELOCATING customer do it, he said You act like youre the only person in this situation, youre not. And I cant help we dont have dollies. I love that your contact yesterday confirmed my inventory when they cant see it.This is how you want to break the news to a $4000 paying customer? Are you serious?So I flew in my 65 year old dad to help my husband load-out our belongings and drive us 30 hours home. We had to pay our building $150 to move-out based on a 4 hour window. Without those dollies, the 4 hours turned in 8 hours which then turned the middle travel day into 16 HOURS on the road to make up for it. They left in the middle of rush hour, etc. DOMINO EFFECT. And about broke my dad from the carrying.We returned the truck with more gas than we received - which wasnt even a full tank... so they immediately had pull over to get more. We returned the truck 4 days early because I never asked for a 7 day rental!!! And hundreds of miles under the limit. So you guys are going to resell that truck and double your profit this week.But what did we get? A horrible experience with lack of follow-up. We made the reservation in advance. We showed timely. We called to confirm since your team failed to. We confirmed our dollies a day in advance yet didnt get them (and in fact that girl recommended I change my order, so freed up inventory for you too).No reason for this. None. Lazy employees and a ridiculous way to blame a pandemic for your poor service.Terrible. I would have rather paid $10k to hire movers than to rent a car to get a truck rental to pay tolls I never signed up for to breaking my dads old body to risking my dad & husbands life for this drive than pay your company $4k for a partial shipment of boxes, missing equipment, and horrible experience.Oh and the dude said he wouldnt charge for the stupid dollies he did have YET he charged us!!I remember my first time doing business...

I gave 4 starts because of the store manager Ramone. While our experience was terrible Ramone was not present and took full accountability of his staff and their actions. He was able to appease us for our inconvenience and was very polite and understanding. I will say, however, the staff needs more training in customer service and perhaps should try reaching out to notify customers when a service is unavailable on the day of their appointment.

I dont usually leave feedback for these types of things, but my experience was too good to not do so.Ricky at U-Haul of Oakland - 5330 International Bl Oakland, CA made our experience!I will only refer folks to that location because of him, and hope the company realizes what an asset he is to the U-Haul brand and compensates him accordingly.He is a problem-solver and after checking my vehicle, he knew it wouldnt be able to comfortably hold my items, so he transferred me to another type of trailer. He checked to make sure everything was working and when the turn signal wasnt lighting up, he switched out the light transmitter in my car, doing some sophisticated electrician work. He worked swiftly with kindness, expertise and care, and I am CERTAIN that if I went to another U-Haul location, people wouldve been let me walk away with a subpar or untimely solution. (Its happened many times before.)Thanks so much Ricky!!
Perfect experience. We needed to rent a 15 and a large car trailer. Every member of the team was fast, efficient, polite, friendly, and helpful. They took the time to answer questions, double check their work, and kept things moving to get us on the road. Huge thumbs up - thanks guys!
Take a photo of your mileage before and after and keep it. I got charged for going 7 miles over when my own mileage tracking had me as substantially under the mileage.
This team is knowledgeable, friendly, and super helpful. I had trailer receiver problems that these folks off when other U-Hauls didnt address my situation correctly. These guys know what theyre doing, or quick, I would recommend to rent and do business with this Uhaul
One of the best places Ive rented at for moving trucks. Staff was courteous and efficient about getting me in and out. I appreciate the later hours that they are open, and cannot say enough about how easy of an experience this was.
This was one of the worst Uhaul experiences i have ever had. I made my reservation out of a different location and i got informed 2 days before my long distance move that both my pick up location got changed and the equipment wasnt available. They changed my equipment out and before reserving the Uhaul, I specifically told the manager i would not need the uhaul for all the days and 100+ additional miles i was being charged for and asked if i would receive a refund of the additional miles. I was given a firm yes. 2 weeks later, im being told I would not receive any refunds because my trip was a one way. I wasted over an hour on the phone with customer service on 3 occasions now, the store manager Ramon refuses to help, and the Regional managers wont respond to the calls. This is the last time i use Uhaul.

I had to re-create my reservation with this place 3 times because the person I talked on the phone didnt actually book my rental (even though I provided my CC information) when they said they had the initial call and then me following up for confirmation. When I went in for pickup I was the only person in the store and 2 folks behind the counter took 5 minutes to come over and talk to me after I stood at the counter to pick up my rental at that SCHEDULED TIME. The guy who helped me was complaining and saying some homophobic remarks to his co-worker. Now I call back to get a receipt to see I why I was charged twice and they refuse to send a copy to the email which I had provided and they are requiring me to come in with an ID to get this information in person. Love that I have to go back to a place with terrible and slow customer service to get a simple receipt.

U-Haul shops vary, some are terrible, some are great. Every metro area has some of both. The International Blvd shop is one of the good ones. Theyre corporate owned, not franchise, so theyre better able to solve problems and get things done. Friendly staff, in and out, no problems. Would definitely do business with again.
Booked an online time to install hitch for 5pm. Drove from SF to Oakland to have hitch installed. Got to Uhaul just to get the message that “we don’t install hitches after 3pm”. So why is it possible to book it for 5pm??? Lousy service.
Even though they had a computer issue, they were pretty quick pulling up my reservation, getting the equipment, and checking back in when I returned. Better than most other U-Haul locations Ive been to.
Very efficient staff, quick and courteous. Answered a phone question I had when I got home, and they were also very patient with another customer that I witnessed.
Beware the hidden fees! Staff is nice but the prices are higher than they appear. Those vans that say$19/day? We ended up paying $60 to use it for a few hours and that was only from Oakland to Emeryville to help a friend move. I expected some fees but they were higher than anticipated. On the upside, we had no hassle returning the van and they didnt try to hustle us with the accidental damaged crap that some places try. Bottom line - if you need a van or trailer, theyll get you one but be prepared to pay more than the price they promote
Had a trailer hitch installed today. Had a scheduled appointment. They were ready and it was done in 45 minutes. Very friendly and well run operation.

Its in a good location off of 54th in international you can take the 880 66th exit to get there quickly. Its been around for many years and has assisted in many moves lve been paid for and the prices are great.
Showed up without a reservation and still had a great selection. Staff was personable, truck was clean and return was very quick.

Rented from them twice in the last month and they were timely, professional and I got a newer, clean truck both times. They took the time to show me how to use the car dolly also.

Nichelle was a great help. Uhaul el sobrante totally messed up my order. They told me to come to oakland and pick up when i live 5 min away from el sobrante location. Oakland didnt have it. Nichelle had great customer service skills and was able to find me a trailor. However el sobrante mislead me and told me that uhauls close at 7pm and its 5pm. They clearly got sat and sun schedule mixed up. I ended up having to cancel my order for this. I was pissed at the terrible mishap. Nichelle was nice enough where i couldnt take fault on oaklands uhaul. In the end i am not going to uhaul no more but if i had no choice i hope your employees are like Nichelle. Overall i only gave a 4 bc of her. She was worth a 5 and uhaul a 1 star.

Rented a truck online, but they are closed. Yelp wants more writing here, but there is really nothing else to say: the whole purpose of U-Haul is to get us a truck, without one they are entirely worthless.

I was generally pleased with my experience,with this business.I brought the truck back clean,but was charged a $25.oo cleaning fee.I thought that was unwarranted and a rather lame move on their part.I guess they needed the$25 bucks more than I did.SMH
