I have used Protection 1 for 4 years now at my business. They are a very disconnected company from sales to installation to the equipment manufacturers they use. I recently re did all the cameras in our facility du to expansion. The install was supposed to take 3 days, ended up dragging out 2 weeks and close to 6 site visits. Some of the cameras were not ordered properly, and not once did I get a call to address the fact that the installation was a total mess. I ordered a forklift for the install for the 3 days and ended up needing to hold on to it for 2 weeks, no one offered to cover its cost at Protection 1. The techs were nice but every time they showed up it was as if we were starting all over again, no notes and seemed no one was in charge or taking control. Since the installation which was 6 months ago, my security cameras have gone out 5x. Every time they must send a tech out and getting to that point is tedious, and just like the install, every time a tech shows up its as if they have no idea what is going on even though you spent an hour on the phone with customer service explaining everything. They are typical large corporation, too big, disconnected and no one takes accountability locally to solve customer problems.

Had Protection 1 service for some 12 years without major problems. But cancelling my account proved to be a nightmare! Lightning fried the system and I want to go wireles, but not with them.

Nothing but an inconvenience. The sales rep. Troy Elliot was suppose to cancel are old commercial account since we moved to a larger facility. He has told us three times it has been taking care off. 5 months later im still getting calls about a dead battery and im still being charged for a location i have not been in for 5 months. They will tell you anything to get you to sign. They will not follow threw. I have also had 4 service calls for malfunctions with their equipment. Stay away from ADT aka Protection One. They have merged together and are very hard to deal with.

Horrid customer service and very little attention or concern for their clients. Once they have the job and start the installation they go dark at the local operation level and it’s essentially impossible to speak to anyone other then the rep that has no real concern, he’s been paid… This has been the worst business experience I have I quite some time… Keep looking if you are reading this review, no joke…
