Been here several times through out the years. Always a great experience. I got my samples. I had turkey on honeywheat with Swiss today. I was very pleased with it all!

The breads are very good, coffee is so/so. The cinnamon chip and cranberry walnut breads are worth trying. The staff are very friendly and, in my experience, are patient with less experienced customers.

HANDS MF DOWN THE OATMEAL CHOCOLATE COOKIE will always be the best cookie ever from GHB. Okay my favorite hot sandwich lately has been the the Turkey & Pepper Jack Panini with Parmesan cheese rustic bread ! Hot sandwich will melt into your mouth leaving a kick of after taste from the peppers & red onions! I always love to add extra cheese because the more the merrier!

Came across this place during a recent visit to Anchorage. Excellent sandwiches. Tried their spicy veggie sandwich and grilled cheese (panini). Both were excellent. It was a busy place and staff was doing their best to keep the orders moving. They also have variety of breads and give free samples.

Holy cow. The Apple bacon grill cheese on cherry almond bread was delicious. While I was very hungry when it arrived, I promise this did not change how good the sandwhich was.

My husband used to live near the original store in Montana so I was really looking forward to coming here and trying a fresh and amazing breakfast. From the second we walked in, the cashiers treated us like they had no time for us and that we were dumb for asking about the breads behind the counter. The store did not seem too busy and we felt very rushed out. Chocolate chip muffin was good and the coffee wasnt bad.

Friends stopped by here to get me some sweets for my birthday. Was most impressed by the cinnamon rolls here. First by their sheer size and then by their great taste. After a long day of traveling and being exhausted, sometimes you just crave something sweet. This hit the spot perfectly, would highly recommend to anyone with or maybe even without a sweet tooth.

What could be wrong about a long established bakery that offers specialty coffee, sandwiches and the most amazing selection freshly baked breads? Their selection changes from day to day but there are a few staple varieties offered all the time. Be warned, they let you taste whatever you want and they don’t skimp with their samples. I love the Honey Wheat. It works for sandwiches or French Toast, but for me it is best toasted with butter. One item I can’t pass up if it is available is their Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread. I share with my family, begrudgingly. You should also try their house granola blend, great with yogurt and berries!Update Feb. 2021: I went in to buy a gift around Valentine’s Day and walked out with more than I should have. I’m here to push the cookies...wow...try all kinds, absolutely delicious!

I really loved the Great Harvest Bread Co when I went to college at UCSB. Their loaves of bread and cinnamon rolls were to die for. I was super excited to see one still in business in Anchorage. I tried to stop by on Dec 24th and then had a line maybe 40 people deep. I came back on Dec 29th and there was no one in line. There was also no product on the shelves. I was able to get my cinnamon roll, which was delicious and my husband got a breakfast sandwich, which he thought was tasty, though nothing to write home about. I wonder if they don’t put product on the shelves or if they just hadn’t gotten there yet after their three day closure. I look forward going back and will hopefully see shelves of loaves to pick from.

Every now and then, I come here to try a fresh loaf of bread. I tried the blueberry and gingerbread bread.    It was incredible! I also ordered half a sandwich from Veggie Harvest and it was very fine, too!

Wow! This place was amazing! We were met with friendly smiles whom offered up huge samples of their different breads. We managed to save room for a couple of sandwiches that were just as amazing! Their cinnamon roll, ham and cheese roll, and the smoked salmon sandwich will have you coming back for more! I really wished I had smuggled some back in my suitcase! ~sigh~ We will return on our next visit to Anchorage.

Great Harvest is Going Downhill. Ordered my favorite harvest veggie sandwich, but only a half sandwich. Wish I took a picture. It was sad. Very sad. Sandwich consisted of bread, sauce, 2 pieces of cheese, half a leaf of romaine, 1 tomato, and a tiny pinch of sprouts. Thats it. Nothing else. I guess they need to make more profit from the impact of covid. But their sandwiches arent what they used to be. I almost returned it. Very sad. This was one of my favorite places to get sandwiches. At least at Subway you can see what youre going to get and can ask for maybe 2 pinches of sprouts.

Ordered to my hotel 3 times while in Anchorage for a layover. Sandwiches were delicious and the fresh bread made it even better. I’ll order from here again next time I’m in Anchorage!

Absolutely amazing selection of delicious breads! Definitely need a larger space with more employees, because everyone loves this place it does get really busy.

The bread and paninis are phenomenal, but your stuck waiting almost 45 minutes for the sandwhich you order no matter how busy they are. The people making the sandwhichs move extremely slow even if they are really far behind. The bread they use saves the cold sandwhichs from being complete trash because they put almost nothing on them. They also dont list what gets put on these sandwhichs and thats pretty annoying to have to ask everytime I order.

I come here every once in a while to try a new loaf of bread. Today I tried the ginger and blueberry bread... it was amazing! I also ordered a Veggie Harvest half sandwich and it was really good as well!

The staff was SUPER FRIENDLY and very helpful.They also let you taste the product before you buy, and not just a tiny bite, nice sized pieces.We were very happy with our purchase and our visit - highly recommend.And yes, the food is yummy!

Based on two cinnamon rolls and a sample of Cranberry White Chocolate bread, this place is fantastic. We sat for 4 hours eating those then playing cards. Great little place to meet up with friends.

We have been coming to great harvest for a while now and love the bread despite the price. My wife was getting our weekly loaf and was approached very rudely by a larger woman yelling at her her mask wasn’t pulled up enough. The mask was on her nose but not up to her eyes.If she had asked nicely my wife would have gladly obliged. But she was extremely rude and we will not be going back to harvest.Customer service is not important to this particular woman.

I absolutely love the bread here. Been a long time customer and will come back again. Took my fiance here when he was visiting from Australia before the pandemic and he commented on how great the sandwiches are. Also really happy that yall have been taking precautions during the pandemic seriously and requiring masks. Makes me happy to see.

Couldnt wait to post this review. Came here for a cinnamon roll and coffee and realized Ive been missing out in life. They have two lines. One is the the order line and the other is a bread sample line. A BREAD SAMPLE LINE! Tried the Rustic white sour dough and it is hands down the best sour dough Ive ever had. Cinnamon roll was amazing and the Khaladi brothers Americano was on point! I am going to miss this place. Although maybe they ship it to the lower 48??

Sandwiches are so good, but I’m giving it 3 stars because my order is ALWAYS wrong. I’ve ordered online and in person 3 times recently and my order is wrong every single time. I order a turkey sandwich with lettuce, onion, oil and vinegar. The last 3 times they’ve added extra ingredients like mayonnaise (gross) or tomatoes? At this point I honestly feel like I’m getting punk’d?

Very good Bread. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered here, and I always look forward to the next time. The wait can get long if you come during afternoon rush, or around the holidays, but that’s a testament to how good it is. Prices keep going up...

I dont know about everyone else, but my personal favorite is a chugach sourdough bread with a salmon spread. I really wish I discovered this place sooner.

Great product, poor customer service. I know times are tough, but dont offer curbside delivery if you are not gong to monitor phone or text messages. Went to pick up two preordered baskets, followed both options for pickup. Finally went inside after about 20 minutes. Then order was not correct.

Ordered through doordash and the app states to skip line and let cashiers know you are here to pick up your food.Arrived and cashier was super rude and dismissive and even rolled her eyes at me. She rudely stated that I need to wait in line when it says otherwise on the app. Took forever to get my food when it said it was ready for pick up on the app.I probably won’t be coming back again if that is how staff treats customers who follow what the app says to do when you arrive.

Whatever bread you are interested in they will give you a sample of it even if they have to go and get it, you’re not limited to what they have been giving out as samples, and we’re not talking a bite size sample, they give you a huge sample and everyone with you gets whatever sample they want also. I have never been disappointed in any of their breads I have purchased, I love cinnamon bread and theirs is delicious.

From the start, the service was amazing. The place is nice and in a cozy strip mall. The sandwiches are so fresh & delicious! I recommend the turkey chipotle panini (add avocado), mind blowing!! Granted I’m not even out of high school, but I’ve literally been eating food from here since I was in kindergarten. The staff are friendly, and I’m not a huge bread person but the cinnamon chip bread or cinnamon rolls or 7 layer bars are all very good and it’s definitely worth a try in my opinion

Disappointed. My timing must be off in light of all the 5-star reviews. We came in and ordered a breakfast sandwich. They brought us our coffee, which we couldn’t drink while waiting, thanks to COVID. 20 minutes went buy and I asked where we were in the process, I was told the sandwich hadn’t even made it to the oven, we were 4th in line. That was weird because we were the only ones waiting that hadn’t come in after us.I asked for a refund for the sandwich. The coffee had gotten cold by the time we walked out, truly disappointed. I’ve only been there one other time a year ago and had a similar experience.

I love this place. Their Cinnamon Chip bread is scrumptiously delicious. They give free samples of their breads, and the samples are full slices of bread, not just a bite. If you havent been there, treat yourself. The fresh baked bread, along with their coffee, cookies, sandwiches, and other little goodies, are definitely worth the trip.

I so badly want to get some bread, I was happy to hear that you have curbside pickup during the current unfortunate circumstances. But then I learned you do it all by phone? Really? Paying over the phone is so last millennium! So insecure.. Cmon guys, spring for an online ordering and secure payment platform.

The sandwich was surprisingly small for the amt we paid, but I eat small portions so it worked out fine. However, the wait took forever which is the reason for the docked star.The best part about this place is the little station where they give out samples of their bread. They are so generous with the sample they give and the bread is warm and delicious.

I work at a coffee shop & one of my friends regularly brings me food from here. This place is gold, from the salads to the deserts. The sandwiches are yummy too and everything’s so fresh. There’s definitely care put into everything they make.

Any time I come to Anchorage I make a point o come here. Absolutley recommend. Sour dough bread and amazing and the cinnamon chip bread is the best. Their whole wheat bread is also very good. Price is worth it.

A friend of mine in NH sent me a video on social media that showed how the bread is made here. After watching this, I rushed here the next morning. I bought a loaf of cinnamon chip bread and I think its the most delicious bread Ive ever had. It was still warm when I bought it, and they provided me a plastic bag in which to store it after it cooled off in about 3 hours. And I loved the fact that they have a super friendly employee right when you walk in that gives you free samples of fresh bread. As I write this review, Im craving their bread again...

This is the best place to get fresh bread in Anchorage. I have been to a lot of bakeries and Great Harvest is consistently awesome. The staff is really friendly and they provide samples if you want to try something different. Worth waiting for if you go during a peak time.

Of course being closed on Sunday always makes for a sad day when you pull up and find theyre not open. However, this is my go to place for a great sandwich. Youre always hit with a great smell of freshly baked bread when you walk in and there are so many options to chose from.

This place is almost always full of people when I visit & its not hard to see why, when you walk in, the smell of fresh baked goods hits your nose, the portions of their bread samples (optional butter always available) are a grand snack & Im always tempted to buy a loaf when I visit, especially because I can try before I buy! The prices for a full loaf are extremely reasonable considering the time & money it would cost to produce a product similar at home!

Looked this place up on Google and got real excited to go. Their website said they were open until 6pm so I headed out to try a sandwich for the first time. I got there at 3:04 and looked up at the menu. An employee noticed and said if youre looking at sandwiches were not serving them any more. I didnt see that on their home page or online menu (easily anyway) all I saw was open until 6. I drive clear across town to get there 4 minutes after 3:00 to be told I was 4 whole minutes too late. Wont go back

We, our children and grandchildren love your breads.You have been shared with families across the US when we fly many times a loaf or two of will bread fly in our carry on. You have taken the guess work out of shopping for those picky folks we like gifting and no matter what we purchase it is always the right gift. I do have a couple of friends that like the certificates so they can choose their favorite item.As busy as you are I have always been treated with kindness from everyone who has served me. thank you for the wonderful job you do in our community.I am excited to see the Fall and holiday breads back on the shelf.

Asiago rustic bread is amazing! Its like pesto bread but better! I love the free samplings of bread and the cheerful staff as soon as you walk in. We go here about every two months or so and have always had good service and food.

I heard about this place via Insider on YouTube. My fiancé and I came here and absolutely love it! Fresh bread that you can get a free sample of, tasty breads and sandwiches, decent coffee and friendly staff. If you happen to be in Anchorage definitely stop by!

The bread and service is great. My wife worked at a Great Harvest in Salem for a while and I can hardly eat breat bought at a grocery store. However, the ownerships decision not to open other locations and the franchises decision not to let others open other locations locally is why they get 2 stars. We have enough demand in Anchorage for another location to succeed. Driving to the heart of mid-town traffic prevents more people from eating healthy bread. I bought a mixer and a grinder and I make my own bread soley to avoid driving to their single location for a single item in mid-town. OPEN MORE!

This is a great place to get some fresh baked bread or a sandwich. Their sandwiches can be made hour or cold. They even give you a slice of whichever bread you want to try while you wait.
