While the selection is great, the staff is snotty and noisy. You can get a decent deal if you haggle with them, much like you would in New Yorks diamond district (47th st.) I was looking for a fancy bracelet for my wifes birthday in the $4-5K range. The staff annoyed me with their attitudes so I ended up getting her a designer handbag instead. Waste of an hour of my time at this place. Go there if youre prepared to argue over the inflated prices.
Great experience here the owner Tony is the best jeweler around.
There was this one girl that work today she was very nice to me and I’m definitely going back
Excellent service and great prices...definitely will go back
The Diamond Exchange is a top notch full service jewelry store. After a bad experience with another local jeweler, Kiki and Carol at the Diamond Exchange were more than happy to help make my fiancees vision of her engagement ring a reality. Their service and attention to detail was outstanding and anything I wanted corrected they did on the spot with no complaining. You can watch Gabby, the ring designer, as she sits there and designs custom jewelry. They stand above the rest as a quality jewelry store.
Initially, the staff was great - even though Kiki pushed us to purchase a product that was more than $100 over what we told them was our max budget. We then waited more than a month without hearing back from them on an update that our daughter’s bracelet was ready for pickup. After no returned phone calls at 6 weeks, I finally called one afternoon and spoke with someone who didn’t have an update, so we just cancelled the whole order and demanded a refund. First and last time here! What a waste of time!!
They created a ring exactly how I designed and offered their best advice because purchasing a ring was a new experience for me. Kiki made me feel very comfortable, thank you!
I cant say enough about the Diamond Exchange! My husband and I are longtime customers and continue to return to them because of their high quality jewelry and amazing customer service. Kiki is the best! She is the utmost professional and pays attention to every detail. The Diamond Exchange designed our wedding jewelry over ten years ago and recently redesigned my two bands and engagement ring after they were lost. I just picked up the new rings and they are absolutely exquisite - thank you Kiki, Tony, George and the rest of the staff!!! My husband and I could not be happier! You will not go wrong in choosing them to create your dream jewelry!
Six days after I brought my mothers estate jewelry here for appraisal our house was burglarized and all my jewelry and my mothers was stolen. The police said the house was targeted and the job professional. If it werent for the appraisal photos from the Diamond Exchange, they would have had nothing to go on. So, thank you Diamond Exchange.
Excellent service and extremely friendly and calm no high pressure no fast taking swindlers, prices are much cheaper then zales and other big name places. I would definitely recommend this place.
Designed our wedding bands and they went above and beyond what we expected. Will be using them again for other items.
Unfortunately it was a terrible experience. I went in with the hopes of purchasing wedding bands and a little help matching something with my engagement ring. You wont get that there! The sales associate was abrasive and gravely misinformed about the various metals utilized for wedding bands. She stated that my choice in metal was poor because people thought its a good choice because its expensive. She was not educated in the ratio of how much the actual ring would be made up of this poor material. I guess when The Krupp Diamond was created, poor judgment was used in the type of metal that was used to set it. lol
Stay away. First off this is the first negative review I have written in my life, but the service was so bad that I can not let this one go.We purchased our wedding bands from diamond exchange and also had my fiances engagement ring repaired, there was a small cracked diamond in the setting.First off the repair; we had left the engagement ring there for a week to be repaired, they called us to come pick it up because it was ready... We come in and pay for the repair and inspect the ring. The diamond was still cracked. We show the lady, she tells us, oh there was 2 cracked and you only paid for one. There was without a doubt only one cracked. After much arguing they admitted that they messed up fixed it. Just terrible. Now the bands.. My fiance got a diamond band to match her ring and I got a plain white gold band. We pay for them and put them in the safe til the wedding. Few weeks before I take mine out to try it on, its a tad too big, we bring it in to get resized. Hold on to your seat. They tell us, we can not resize it because its not gold. They tell us we didnt pay for gold. We 100% did. They pull out the receipt, it says clear as day white gold. So they go back and forth with the owner in the back arguing with him not offering us a solution. We wait and wait at the counter, no one tells us anything. So more customers come in and they go to help them. Leaving us at the counter. I just lost it, started screaming are you serious?? Can someone just tell me you will make a new ring and I will leave. They looked puzzled and finally told me to come back for a new ring. The whole time both ladies were extremely rude. With the cracked diamond and the fake gold ring. I would not step foot in this business again to save my life. Do yourself a favor and do business elsewhere.
Could not be happier with my experience with Kiki and Stacey at the Diamond Exchange. After a different reputable jeweler told me it was not possible to resize my engagement ring and that I would need to purchase a whole new setting, I was pretty upset. My brother suggested the Diamond Exchange as he has had many beautiful diamond pieces made by Kiki for my sister in law. I brought it in and met with her, who assured me it WAS possible, and then had it beautifully done within 20 minutes while I waited. They even let me try it back on halfway through to make sure it was the fit I wanted. They were professional, reassuring, and such sweet people. We will definitely be returning to Kiki to get our wedding bands made. And hopefully again and again for more diamonds after that :)
Poor customer service. We went in with money to spend on jewelry but the attitude of the sales associate in the store put us off. She was very rude and judgemental. I think she thought we couldnt afford anything in the store. Never going back!
Extremely rude and disrespectful unless your looking for 3 carats. Would never recommend .
At first glance, the place is amazing. They are cordial and use a family style sales technique. In the competitive arena of low-middle price range, they offer a less intimidating experience than one the exchanges on route four. They offer decent quality at fair prices, but dont be fooled into believing you are receiving exceptional value. Take note of the large yellow chandeliers in their diamond store. There is a reason why establishments such as Cartier, Tiffany, & Harry Winston keep their stores simple and primarily in led lighting. To truly show you the color of the stone. Diamonds can only be contrasted against white as to show you the true color. Also be cautious of Kiki. She is very sweet at first, but challenge her and find out who she really is. Their diamonds do not compare on other respective diamond grading scales. Meaning they push lower quality items to unsuspecting, uneducated consumers. If your budget is over 15k, youll be fine. If your ok with decent quality for fair prices this place is for you. If you want exceptional & genuine go somewhere else. Just be cautious. At least for me the ability to trust my jeweler is my number one priority. I unfortunately did do business with them and learned the hard way. Remember diamonds and sales are forever in this industry.
Rip off! Please be careful. I would question all the brilliant 5 star reviews from Google Users below. I had a horrible experience. I called ahead to ask if they purchased antique jewelry. The lady who answered the phone, Stacy, said Yes, cmon in!. I walked in and the place was pretty much empty (now I know why) with only employees lurking on unsuspecting customers. I asked them to evaluate, then make an offer on two items I had. A 14kt white gold necklace with approx. 3 karats worth of higher end diamonds and an antique bracelet with 18kt yellow gold and platinum setting with approx. 6 karats of lower end European Cut (Miners Cut) Diamonds. The instant I handed the items over and noticed that Tony hidden behind a two way mirror started weighing my jewelry I knew these guys intentionally were trying to swindle less knowledgeable clients. I know everyones trying to make a buck, as they should, but the quotes I received earlier in the day were at least 10x what this scoundrel offered. These people dont value Antique Jewelry. They were trying to pay a fraction of the price of the weight in gold, ignoring the value of the diamonds completely. Tony didnt bother explaining what karat each piece was made of hoping that I wouldnt notice. Bad experience overall. Needless to say I sold my items to another dealer below Rt. 4. for a considerable amount more. Avoid this place at all costs, but if you MUST go there, please go somewhere else afterwards to double check the value of your items. Also, the lighting in the place is off, I wouldnt be surprised if they were trying to pass off their diamonds as higher quality than theyre valued.
All I have to say is this: Gentlemen, if you go anywhere other than The Diamond Exchange in Paramus NJ to purchase diamonds or any high quality jewelry for that special someone in your life then you are doing yourself, your loved one and your wallet an injustice! I first met Kiki, about four years ago when my buddy was purchasing an engagement ring. I was so impressed at the way the entire staff treated us that I decided that I would purchase an engagement ring there one day. Fast forward three years and there I was. I told Kiki everything I wanted and my budget. Not only did they give me everything I asked for and more, but they came in well under budget. Compared to all other rings that our friends and family members have, my wifes is the largest, most clear and sparkles the most out of all of them. Since that day, I have purchased another ring for my wife and a set of diamond earrings that, again, the diamond exchange came in well under budget. I cannot say enough about Kiki, Stacy and George. You will not be disappointed.
Love it.
