I bougth a Music Man Majesty from Spain. Everything went very well. The shipment was really fast, and they helped me with the customs, making the process very easy. I totally recommend this guitar shop.
The nicest, most helpful people around! When they didn’t have the guitar I wanted they still helped me find it. Even when they didn’t have to. They did it just to be nice.
I am only writing this review for people like me, that do spend money, but arent rich old guys. I am not going to trash the shop, they are very nice people, but the vibe is just not for me. I like a good mom and pop shop, but this one seems more like a very catered service for people with a lot of expendable income. The first clue is how tucked away the shop is into an easy to miss industrial parking lot. Secondly, they look closed, always. The windows are blacked out and some small print on the door tells you that appointments are recommended. Again, I believe theyre providing a very catered service for those that can afford it, but if you are looking to show up and walk around a sizable shop, pulling guitars off the wall and plugging in and not feel like youre being watched or hovered over, you dont want to go here. This is mostly like one quiet room and youre not going to fade into a wall and peruse unnoticed. If you dont have $3k Fender Custom Shop money, this is also not really the place for you. So if you are in town because you docked your yacht in Malibu and you want some kind people to help you pick out the perfect $4k wall hanger to impress your way younger wife, this is a great place to go. If youre some younger, small-club-gigging musician living in Highland Park, looking to score a deal on a $1k range guitar - this is probably not where you want to go. This is more of a museum vibe than a guitar shop (which I respect, but cant afford).
Great store with a HUGE selection of quality guitars. Above all...the staff are really nice here. Very personable. Never once did they suffocate me with the typical guitar store sales pressure. Thank you for that. My only concern is that the prices are so extreme that most people who are aware of how flooded the market is with guitars will go somewhere else or the internet to buy the same model of guitar. There is no shortage of guitars. Not hating by any means.
This is really quite an exceptional guitar shopping experience - like another reviewer said, more like a private showroom than a regular guitar shop. The place is in an industrial park and looks like an office from the outside. Inside they have a bunch of offices (I assume dealing with remote sales) but also a few showrooms lined with guitars. The place also includes a live music venue, strangely. Their guitar inventory is really fantastic - for example, fender custom shop guitars. The staff were extremely nice to us and left us largely to our own devices.
Ive purchased several guitars from Doug Diamond at Wild West Guitars and he is the absolute best. He spent a ton of time on the phone and over email with me to ensure that I would get the perfect guitar (not to mention the perfect setup). The shop has the finest guitars available and some of the most knowledgeable reps in the industry. I highly advise anyone looking for a high end guitar to check out Wild West and speak with Doug.
Outstanding knowledge and service. These guys are really low key and know their stuffJust bought a used 2004 Gibson Custom Shop L4S from Wild West. EXTREMELY WELL PACKED AND SETUP WAS SPOT ONWE WILL DOING BUSINESS AGAIN FOR SURE
Wild West Guitars is AWESOME! Doug Diamond was a huge help to me getting my new PRS! Gave me a great deal on a trade in! Very helpful! Working with him was by far the best guitar store experience ever! (Especially considering Im in Iowa...) Will definitely be shopping here again!THANK YOU WILD WEST GUITARS!!
They suggest appointments and totally ignored me standing in showroom for over 15 mins. I came home and bought a guitar online. Tried to support local business but they dont care i guess.
Picked up a Fender Heavy Relic Tele last week from Wild West Guitars. The selection was out of this world but the service was the best part. First time there but wont be the last. Well worth the drive. A huge thank you to Doug and Scott.
A trusted and reliable resource. Incredible knowledge and customer service. Bo was on point in helping me find my perfect guitar. I fully recommend!
Excellent service, very helpful staff. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism.
Just had an OUTSTANDING experience with Wild West Guitars. I havent actually been to the shop but did a major transaction via phone/Internet. I worked with Bo, who couldnt have been nicer or more patient. Communication was quick and follow-through was consistent. I bought a PRS Custom 24 with custom specs only available at Wild West. The guitar has turned out to be about the best guitar Ive ever played, let alone owned and is something I couldnt have gotten anywhere else. I was also on a bit of a budget and Bo worked with me to get me the guitar at a price I could manage. I couldnt have asked for more with my experience here, Thanks, guys for your excellent service and incredible guitar! Im in Pasadena every so often and will stop by ASAP to say Hi in person!
This small unassuming office park location hides an impressive selection of custom guitars and basses. Bring your black card, custom is not cheap. On the other hand these are the nicest group of guitar nuts you will find on the east side of Los Angeles.
This is the certainly among one of the best shops in the world. Super friendly staff, one of the best selection of instruments, and the shop, along with its Voodoo Lounge, would be an attraction by itself. This place made most of my guitar-related dreams come true.
I drove out here from Hollywood and Im certainly glad I did. They have a truly beautiful selection of inventory, stellar service, a great facility, and some seriously knowledgable staff. This place is different than any other guitar store Ive been to, and in a great way. I was actually able to sit down and get to know the instruments on a personal level rather than attempting to pick out minute details amidst a cacophony of ear pollution like most places. The actual facility lends itself very nicely to the guitar collection that has a hand-picked, almost curated, feel to it.After I told Doug what I was looking for, he showed me around and even brought out a variety of options that werent hanging up, and also explained each one with a smile on his face. I appreciate that he never pressured me to buy anything during the 5 hours I was in there, instead checking in every so often to make sure I was good while I slowly but surely narrowed down the one. After searching for months, I finally bought a killer guitar. If youre interested in purchasing something higher end, I highly recommend checking out Wild West Guitars. I had a great experience and will be back for sure...thanks dudes.
Good range of upmarket guitars including unique ones from local luthiers. Unfortunately slightly above my budget but very helpful and friendly and free to try anything.
Recently bought a PRS 594 from Doug and Bo. It was refreshing to have them answer all my questions with no sales pressure. I would definitely buy from them again in the future. Awesome selection of guitars and great atmosphere for trying them out.
Amazing selection of guitars. Absolutely no pressure in purchasing. Very knowledgeable staff.
Oh my god this place is awesome! Some of the most beautiful guitars all gathered in one place
I looked at every guitar store across the country that handles Fender Custom Shop Strats and ended up buying from Wild West. They have a great selection, excellent prices, and the absolute best service.Contrary to the expensive boutique shop vibe I read described by one reviewer, I have learned that this is exactly the kind of place you go if you DO NOT have unlimited funds, but have done the math and figured out one good guitar is a lot less expensive than buying two or three cheap ones you outgrow fairly quickly.Give Doug Diamond a call before you decide—chances are youll actually save money AND take home the guitar of your dreams. Many guitars later, I am now a Wild West fan, too.
Real cool shop for high end gear. This was my first visit at this location. Interesting gear and very knowledgeable staff.
Spotted the PRS of my dreams on the Wild West Guitars website. Called them up and spoke to Doug Diamond and he made life easy. Quick, pleasant transaction and an unbelievable guitar shipped to me right away for a great price. Thanks for an awesome experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Buying a guitar online can be a nerve racking experience. When I bought my Duesenberg I couldnt have know that the one in stock had been sold, but the folks at Wild West Guitars worked to get a brand new one straight from the factory in a timely fashion. They even sent a pic when it arrived just so I could see how beautiful the guitar was. They barely had a day before they overnighted it to me. In the small amount of time they had the guitar they took it to be setup, and man what a sweet setup it was. I have had numerous friends play the guitar and the number one comment is always how sweet it plays. I could not be happier, great communication throughout the purchase, excellent customer service. I would not hesitate to buy from them again. Fantastic!
BEST guitar shop around. Exceptional inventory of amazing guitars and the staff is great. Love this place!!!
Dealing with Doug at Wild West Guitars has been an absolute blast! Im thrilled with the service Ive received and I have some great guitars to show from it.
Last week I ordered a Suhr Classic Pro from Wild West Guitars. Doug was extremely helpful, answered all of my questions, and guided me through the whole ordering process. I was a bit nervous about ordering a guitar and having it shipped across the country, but it was my only option as these guitars are harder to find on the east coast. Before the guitar was shipped, I spoke with Scott, Wild Wests guitar tech. He asked me exactly how I wanted the guitar to be set up. The guitar arrived within 2 days and it played amazing. I am beyond happy with how the guitar feels and sounds. It is by far the best strat I have ever owned (Ive had 5 strats over the past 20 years). I highly recommend Wild West Guitars for all of your guitar related purchases.
I buy last week one Prs Sc Wood library, and Doug was extremely helpful! He answer all my questions. He make me have the guitar of my dreams and scott make one incridible setup! Wild west guitars is my store for all my future buys! Thank You Guys!!!
High end, quality brand name guitars.
Garbage seller not to be trusted
Wild West Guitars has awesome customer service and an absolutely gorgeous, one of a kind guitar collection. This place is a must see if you are in the Pasadena area.
Awesome guys, great knowledgeable people, great repair guy, nice business, awesome stage in back. Welcome to the jungle theme
Excellent selection. Welcoming staff.
Great place staff answered all my questions
Great place for serious buyers those interested in mid to high end guotsr gear.
I can honestly say that it was well worth the 1hr 20min drive out to Riverside when I was looking to buy a PRS recently. Wild West guitars is like a private showroom, not a retail store atmosphere. There are no teenage shredders in the room with you competing for sonic space. I was helped out by a very cool cat named Matt Booth. I came in with about a dozen guitars I pulled off of their website and Matt was great about getting them all out and setting me up in a room with them. Very quite and comfortable environment. I only saw two other customers during the day and Matt was around but otherwise just let me play the instruments. For the first 3 hrs I played them w/o plugging in, so I could really hear how the instrument sounded (all fine PRSs and a few of the high end Strats.) Imagine doing that at Guitar Center! After getting down to about 5 instruments, I plugged in and spent the next few hours deciding. I bought a beautiful PRS 58/15 Limited Charcoal Burst and I couldnt be happier. I HIGHLY recommend this place!
Let me start by saying I wish Id started purchasing from Wild West long ago. These guys are great - totally on top of their game. Their communication was a thing of beauty, really showing over the top concern that I had all of my questions answered. They were also the most appreciate guitar shop I have ever bought from.I got an excellent price on the PRS I bought and it was just as described on the WW website. Wild West provided a great set-up, and paid great attention to my preferences of how I wanted the trem set. They did flawless work. The websites photography was very accurate, unlike some shops. The image color was very true to what the finish looks in person. I found that extremely helpful when trying to judge the appearance of the finish online. Finally, I was helped by Doug Diamond, salesman extraordinaire! He is super easy to work with, has a great sense of humor, and was thouroughly knowledgeable. You couldnt find friendlier, more helpful service anywhere.Overall, I am really impressed with Wild West. I will seek them out next time Im looking for a new guitar!
I probably wont buy guitars from anywhere else now. I love the brands they sell and cant get them local. Suhr, Prs, FCS...ect.....I bought two guitars from Doug, A Suhr Bengal Burst and A FCS Tele...There will be a 3rd...just dont know what kind yet. The guitars are set up to perfection when they arrive and shipped quickly and tightly.
The lounge in back was great nice club atmosphere.
Mark is probably the best guitar tech out here.
Great customer service.
I went here on Thursday at 10:30 am, but it wasnt open.... I dont know why.
Nice 👍
