Really good cookies! I got the sugar, Chocolate chip, peanut butter, m&m and white chocolate macadamia. The peanut butter i could skip on. The m&m was heavenly. 10/10 the best m&m cookie i have had so far! The white chocolate macadamia was also really good.

I think that the cookies were ok. The White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Pecan, Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut, and Cranberry Orange Oatmeal Cookies were good. We weren’t able to get the Black and White Cookies because they had just sold the last one. The Sugar Cookies and Peanut Butter and Chocolate cookies were not as good. Overall I would personally not come here again but it was a nice midday treat!

Was just coming for the coffee next door but their cookies look very delicious. So we bought couple pieces and eat with my coffee. Cookies taste as good as their look and they are soft and chewy texture cookie.

The best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten a lot of cookies. The cookie stays together, not too hard not too soft. These are not factory cookies. They taste like cookies. These cookies put others to shame!!

4th Street Cookie is always a good treat when visiting the Reading Terminal Market. Pictured is a Cranberry and white chip cookie. Delicious cookies. I had the sugar one. It was pretty good. Ive had better. It was strong on the baking soda... I can taste it. And I wish it was more buttery.

As always, I have great experiences every time I visit this location. I preordered some black and white cookies which turned out great. My brother was extremely happy with his gift. As far as the team there, they are all great. Always smiling faces and this trip, one gentleman took time to chat with my while he was working. Had nothing to do with cookies but it was a nice distraction while my box was getting it’s bow on it. A+

I recently purchased 24 cookies they were shipped to me very quickly, However the packaging had much to be desired as well as the freshness of the cookies. After paying $72 for 24 cookies with shipping I feel like I was ripped off. very disappointed! will never purchase fourth Street cookies again. Not sure how they got such a high rating??

Absolutely love these cookies and get some every time we are in Philly but want to share about a great customer service experience. I ordered some cookies for an event to be delivered down to South Florida. UPS claimed that they were delivered but we never saw them. Famous was so helpful and shipped a new order overnight at no additional cost without a question. Cant recommend them highly enough!

Excellent. Shared a half dozen; two each of chocolate chip, macadamia and chocolate peanut butter. They were supposed to last until after dinner but that box didnt make it 5 mins. Treat yourself here

Cookies are tasty but I feel like Ive tried better elsewhere. A little over priced in my opinion . You also have the ability to order online and they also opened up a shop in East Falls where you can order and then pick up within the past year for those living farther away in the suburbs.

I placed my order online for the wrong date. When I showed up a day early to pick up my cookies the woman in charge said she could fullfill my order in a hour if I didnt mind waiting. I came back in a hour and they were warm, packaged and waiting for me. What great customer service! Thank you very much. Oh yeah, the cookies were amazing too!

Really great cookies! Stopped by since my husband and I were taking a vacation to Philly, and it was definitely a great treat. I got the half and half dipped cookie which was very delicious and the hubby got an oatmeal raisin cookie that he was rather infatuated with. All in all, a great place to grab a quick cookie!

Awesome cookies right at the entrance of Reading Market. It may be a bit expensive for a cookie which was around three and a half dollars but it was big and it took me 5 minutes to compete it. Overall, good cookies and not so much to talk as service was quick and fast.

These really are the best cookies in Philadelphia! Famous 4th Street Cookie Company was at one point owned by the same people as Famous 4th Street Deli, though ownership changed some years ago. Every meal at the deli used to come with one of their highly coveted chocolate chip cookies, which are still baked and sold at their Reading Terminal stand to this day among the other wonderful cookie varieties available. You can’t go wrong with a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie, but you can also opt for one that is dipped in chocolate or one that is “black and white.” And what’s a cookie stand without milk? Make this one of your stops at Reading Terminal Market, and take my word—you will not regret it! You may even want seconds!

I can’t praise this place enough! I ordered cookies online to be delivered to my brother for his birthday, who was visiting one night from MD. Being from TX, and not knowing this place, I saw the reviews and took a leap of faith that all would work out. Mind you, I placed this order online 11p EST, so I called them to ensure my order would be delivered. The lady (feel so bad I forgot her name because she was AMAZING!) confirmed my order and said they will be delivered to the hotel by 2p. Unfortunately, by 6p my family had not received them. The hotel said they dont have them. I called Famous 4th St, thankfully the lady picked up the phone. Although they were closed and she was trying to enjoy her own personal time with her family, she went above and beyond to locate the delivery. She was determined to find them or offer to send cookies first thing in the morning. She called me back to tell me that the hotel did have them 😞 and that they missed placed them in their Fedex office and that they would delivered right away. She ensured guest satisfaction when this was beyond her control.Not only great customer service, the cookies were great too (so my family said) ☺️

Almost always freshly baked and warm. While they do ring up to ~$3 per cookie, the size and taste make every penny worth it. My favorite was the chocolate walnut. Also, located right by an exit, for an easy grab n go treat.

Buy 3 get 1 free. We got a chocolate chip, a white chocolate chip, a chocolate chip with walnuts and a chocolate chip that was double dipped. They were all really nice, warm, freshly baked and delicious and the staff was really friendly. My only gripe was that the double dipped was too sweet.

I bake cookies at home a lot and I was disappointed with the 2 I bought. The snickerdoodle was salty and had no buttery flavor. The black & white was bland as well. Tasted like they were made with shortening instead. My friend bought the chocolate chip and said that was good but I didn’t try that flavor.

STAY AWAY! I had such high hopes for these cookies - I mean they look great, but biting into them is like eating a week old chips ahoy, dense, bland and dry, mentioned how bad the cookie was to the counter person and she offered to replace my cookie with another cookie - fair enough, this one was chocolate dipped - really just as bad, if not maybe a little worse - not at all what Id expect from such an expensive cookie.UPDATE: I posted a similar review on Yelp but I see that its been removed

I’m not a huge cookie fan. Personally, I prefer more decadent desserts like cheesecake and red velvet cupcakes, or elaborate desserts like pumpkin whoopie pies filled with chai-infused cream cheese. Cookies to me are boring: if you’re going to have dessert, really have dessert. I have come across only one place in my life that makes cookies that make me rescind this statement. That place is called Mattheesen and Magilner’s Candy Kitchen. Each cookie costs $5, but weighs half a pound. By no means are their chocolate chip cookies just chocolate chip cookies. Believe me, they are worth every dollar and every ounce. These cookies are not only massive, but also very rich and gooey—the definition of decadent. My mom, my sister, and I bought one to share every chance we got. We even bought one each for ourselves for the plane ride home! The problem is, Mattheesen’s is in Key West. That makes it kind of hard to satisfy a craving when we live in Philly for most of the year. However, I have found a cookie place right in Philly that is pretty comparable. The cookies are not a half pound each (nor are they $5 each). But they are delicious!They can be found at The Famous 4th Street Cookie Co. at Reading Terminal Market. I got the chocolate covered chocolate chip cookie. The cookie itself is chewy and moist. It is so rich that it does not just fall apart in your mouth, but really melts on your tongue, allowing you to savor every morsel. And the chocolate that enveloped it was very sweet, not just an ordinary milk chocolate coating, but it seemed to have a confectioners sugar base, giving it a unique sweet and sticky taste and texture. The 4th Street Cookie Co. also sells peanut butter chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, sugar, butter almond, white chocolate macadamia nut, and oatmeal raisin. I plan to try the peanut butter chocolate chip next. My roommate has vouched for the snickerdoodle. These cookies are worth the trip even if you just get the cookies!--Jessica Chung
