Never again. The cost alone is a no for me. First, I wanted a breakfast burrito (quoted time was 10 mins). Then, axed that and got the hatch chile bagel bomb (asked if they can warm it up, was told they don’t have anything to warm it up with). Finally, the cost was 11$ (8oz of coffee with almond milk and food) with no tip.
This place was cool I was just skating downtown Phoenix an wanted donuts and coffee but came across this place where I bought a chia tea that was super yummy and there chocolate chip cookie was so delicious I shared it with the pigeons on first ave and they loved it too will definitely recommend this place to anyone who love coffee or chia tea or cookies lol
I was very pleased with this shop. The cappuccino and the sandwich that I ordered taste very good and better. Besides, I appreciated the presence of the waiter and the waitress a lot. They were nice, professional, and accurate to what was the order. The place was also captivating. It was clean, stylish, and cool. I will come back!
We visited a few days ago while visiting family, such a nice little find. The coffee shop is clean and tidy inside, coffee was nice, and our food was warm and well presented. This place never disappoints. 5-star experience from food to staff every time. Great location and loved the themes and quirkiness. Be back soon!
Good chain coffee. Had the cold brew colada and it was definitely a unique experience. The contrast of the sour pineapple juice and almond milk was new to me but pretty good.
I loved this shop ever! Thank you so much for the nice breakfast you brought to me. The coffee and foods were delicious and very good.
They know theyre coffee and they procure and serve some of the best coffee Ive ever had. Not sure if its unique to Cartel but they share with you where your coffee came from and introduce you to the farmers that grow and harvest . As well they share with you how the coffee is processed and roasted. Its very interesting. They have some good bakery items and a treat thats vegan and usually more then one.And some healthier treats tooEmployees are personable and friendly which makes a visit to Cartel a win win
This coffee shop is well-known for its tasty pastries and beverages. Im glad I got to try it because it was fantastic, particularly considering how tasty and filling they all are. However, the service is outstanding, and I really advise you to use it!
Great oat milk latte and I enjoyed the chocolate cookie a lot.
I liked it so much I went to the airport location on my way home.
Finally, today, I find the best coffee shop. Their choice of music is usually a blast from the past, which made me linger longer and was very soothing. For lovers and even for groups of friends, there are tables. The coffee and food here is very cheap and the money is well worth it. In this coffee shop, you cant go wrong. This one is well worth visiting.
This is such a beautiful place to get some java. This very well-deserved location has more than five-star ratings. All from their staff, interior designs, and even the facilities were excellent. A spot to keep coming back to every moment for more and more. I really recommend this coffee shop to everyone.
This coffee shop is well-known for its delectable pastries and beverages. Im glad I got to try it because it was wonderful, particularly considering how delicious and filling they all are. However, the service is excellent, and I really advise you to use it!
Cool place good copy friendly people
Every coffee lover should be in the right place only here at this coffee shop! Spending quality time with good friends, amazing people, quality service and good food! The staff is knowledgeable about what to offer especially for the first-timers. This coffee shop has a nice vibe. I will definitely come back to try out other coffee.
Cartel is always amazing for their coffee and baked goods. This location always has amazing staff that are friendly and knowledge about what they are selling.
They require a mask to order at their OUTSIDE window. The black tea was good, no sweetener needed.
Amazing espresso roast! Lots of mediocre coffees out there but this roast is rich and decadently smooth. If you love coffee you’ll love their roast.Coffee shop is simple modern decor with plenty of places to sit and a window to order outside. My new favorite coffee shop when I visit Phoenix!PS- I ordered a 16oz soy latte (pictured)
Amazing coffee I love this place. Also worth picking up their beans too!
They provide just bid and small cups, but this is ok. A few sits outside, but there is a lot of space outside, so you can take a coffee away and drink it on the bridge nearby, for instance. The best coffee place in the area!
Being cheeky, I told the barista in this serious coffee place that I was from Melbourne, and hadnt found good coffee in Phoenix yet. It wasnt strictly true, but a great conversation starter with baristas! He made me an excellent latte with pretty free pour art. The lady working the cash register had to explain some of the offerings for me. I forget now what a one and one is, it involves two shots, one as espresso and one as macchiato? She ran through the cookies, and this was a good idea. I chose an espresso, chocolate, cashew and sea salt cookie, so satisfying to this hungry traveller. Theres heaps of room at big tables here, they are expecting you to bring your laptop.
Really good coffee. Excellent service! First time there, he was very helpful and suggestions were delicious.
Good coffee shop fast service. Next door to the Kettle Black.
Good coffee. Got the cold brew. Nodes of cocoa and light roast. Pretty good. Price is a bit steep but worth checking out if youre a fan ofcoffee.
Ive been making this company a place of pilgrimage since I left AZ over a decade ago, and have never been disappointed. I order their coffee to be delivered to my home in CA, its that good!
We specifically asked for sugar & cream in our coffee & oatmeal while ordering, asked again before leaving with our food, got in the road to find out they lied both times. Dont waste your time here.
Always great coffee. Cant beat their pour over!
Price is high but the coffee is good. Pastry was just alright.
Simple. Walk up window. Gran n go. Good.
The cappuccino was even better, the best coffee of the city. The barista is very good in making different toppings. The staff is very friendly.
Cartel coffee is really great and of course I would recommend!
Great coffee and friendly service. Will definitely visit again
Amazing location with great nitro brew and outdoor seating!
Coffee is so good & well priced for dtphx. The staff is really nice & the Neapolitan shortbread cookie with matcha, chocolate, & vanilla is so good. I also love how convenient the location is & how large the space is. I felt comfortable visiting despite covid.
Find this place. This is a great, high quality independent coffee shop in downtown Phoenix. One of a handful of shops that take coffee seriously.
Good place to catch up with friends. The bill was reasonable I would say. If it was closer to my home I would be here often.
Delicious Matcha drink.A bit OVERPRICED!
Wow! Cartel Coffee lab 😁 wink wink! Amazing, do yourself a great big favor and try them all (not at the same time) you dont want to OD on bliss in liquid form!
Great coffee great service! Had a pour over and a pastry and both were spectacular.
Service was amazing and the latte was delicious as always. Didnt like the blueberry crumble cake but really only ever liked the pop tart they use to have at the Tempe location. Wish they would bring that back.
The interior is so cute and the coffee is pretty awesome.
Best espresso drinks in the Valley, hands down.
I love that this is downtown near the convention center - a great spot for those of us visiting!!This little coffee nook is great to get some delicious brew. They have some pastries as well, and I look forward to trying those next time. For coffee, you have options from a regular $3 small cup to a fancy chemex option.Staff were friendly - I will definitely return.
The Cartel Coffee Lab has actually been here for quite some time. This place has their interior design down to a science. The place is laid out meticulously and if I am not mistaken there is this chandelier that is hanging a tad bit too low on purpose. Maybe I am confusing this place with somewhere else but I do remember something like that and I thought it was very cool.
They are coffee experts who are excited and willing to educate you about their offerings and how you can make the best coffee at home. Cartel is a true neighborhood hub that makes everyone feel at home. I have never been so comfortable or at ease with another public space (I am not kidding or exaggerating). Cartel is a little slice of what the world should be.
Service was good. Coffee is good. Id like to have come out of there for less than $4 for a 16 oz cup, but I got the special of the day, so I get it...kinda
I love having my cappuccino here. It tastes great, coffee quality is good and baristas do an awesome job. I took a star off because my friend got a iced vanilla late and paid almost 7 dollars for it. I think its a bit pricey to charge .75 for a vanilla syrup shot but, if you do, you should note that in the menu.
Very good coffee. Nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed the fruit and oat bar. Pastries all seemed to be interesting flavors and not just standard fare.
I like most Cartel Coffee locations but this one is not up to standards - usually 1 person working so takes a long time, because of this you get subpar, rushed drinks. This is unacceptable because 2 drinks + tip is $16. Gave 2 stars because worker is trying.
Ive enjoyed Cartel for the past 4 years and location to location, bean to bean, brew to brew, Ive never been disappointed. Most locations are also a great place to have a meeting. One important note - at most places, most coffee shops, youre tempted to get fancy and go for the more expensive brew - dont start there, the basic drip is fantastic. Yes the fancy beans are wonderful, you wont want to go back - you should and if you try the Carmen Washed (my favorite) youll find a fruity and wonderfully light brew.
Great selection of single origin coffees & friendly service.
Customer service was lacking especially because it was my first time buying. Didnt have anything I liked. Not a coffee shop for me.
Service was warm and friendly but the shots were burnt and I couldnt finish my drink. I went to another location about a year ago and it was a great experience.
Cartel coffee is a gem! Super friendly staff, great atmosphere, and the coffee is truly amazing!
Good coffee, friendly staff
I dont see the draw to this place at all. $4 for an 8 oz cup of drip coffee? Not worth it. I like the coffee I make at home 100% better. They do have good caramel glazed banana bread.
Visited on sat i believe. looking forward to coming back with my friends. the prices are well within reason for the quality. mood here is similar to fresnos scene.
I liked the vibe of this little place. Downtown. Cartel coffee. Good place to go and read or study. During the day its not too crowded and the staff is friendly. Their cold brew is almost always on point. Id rank it top 5 in Phoenix. A tall mocha has like 4 shots, so you can get the job done... Whatever job that may be. All in all its a chill little spot.
Five star coffee. Personal favorite in Phoenix area, so far.
Really good coffee, but the girl behind the counter is salty as hell. Maybe the barista life has took its toll? Needless to say, customer service is a huge part of a consumers experience. She pretty much ruins that when she is irritated by every customer who walks in the small coffee space. It is time for Cartel to up their staffing game.
For those who love coffee like me, you can find strong pleasant flavors here, and more. Blueberry muffin is very tasty.
One of the best places to get great coffee while you are walking around downtown. I was waiting for a friend and stopped in for a cup and was surprised on how good the coffee was. You might have to search around for a parking spot and walk a little ways, parking is by meter.
Good spot downtown, really nice people and great pastries. Properly pulled espresso and great options for a variety of drip coffees in various drip forms. NOT expensive for what they offer in both quality and choice. It is priced for their time and the quality of beans and roasting which are both very high.If you are used to paying $2 for coffee then steer clear and head to dunking donuts.....
The coffee was amazing! Smooth and very good on the taste buds. Unlike any other coffee yet the only thing is I wish they had more locations on the North Side as I would love to grab these on my way to work
Very kind and knowledgeable staff, answered my esoteric question on foam very obligingly. She even looked it up in a barista encyclopedia - damn. Coffee was delicious and the feeling is good.
Their coffees are of great balanced taste. Every time I come back trying different coffee types, they are consistent in serving me great lingering aftertaste. The coffees don’t taste acrid nor bitter, it’s perfectly sweet but not too much. It’s like every single time I sip each coffee type, it’s the kind of coffee that makes me want to gulp it all down instantly after the first sip.
Lovely friendly staff, reasonable selection of freshly roasted beans, a small space to sit in the shop, and a large area with tables just outside of the shop. Chemex for pour overs of any beans they have available in both small and large sizes... they clearly know what they’re doing.
Huge selection of quality coffee, great staff, fast service.
Outstanding cappuccino! Having worked in Italy for almost 2 years it is nice to find a coffee shop that makes cappuccinos like the original motherland; which, unfortunately, is not easy to find here in The States. I was in the Phoenix area over three months on work and tried four different coffee shops, and for me this was by far the best for cappuccinos (solo cappuccino per me) The staff is fantastico and friendly as well... a nice added bonus. Thanks Cartel Coffee!
Some of my favorite cold brew in town. Helpful and informative baristas when you have questions about their brewed goodness. Atmosphere is kind of austere, but in a cool Im drinking coffee at a museum sort of way. Five out of five beans, baby!
