Delightful way to finish our outing at the Japanese Friendship Garden. We stopped here for coffee and a treat. Hubby had coffee and a lightly frosted banana blonde brownie. He said it was delicious! I opted for the vegetarian chili. Wow! Deliciously spicy with the perfect blend of beans. Thick and hot. Just the way I like chili. My compliments. We sat outside on the patio at a small table, shaded by a sun screen tarp overhead. Other folks spaced appropriately and also seemed to be enjoying the day. Staff here are top notch. Friendly, helpful, attentive. Lots of menu items for a snack and lunch. Thank you!

New favorite joint. Known for their bagels I had to try one and it did not disappoint! I had the Hummus w/capers on a rosemary bagel. It was amazing. Also enjoyed an almond milk lavender latte. The best part was the service. The team was personable and really created a fun atmosphere. Ill be working from here again the future for sure!

Im a first time visitor to Copper Star, and Im so glad my friend and I decided to go there. The service was fast and friendly, and there was adequate seating both inside and out. The neighborhood is fun and funky. All in all, a great experience. I highly recommend the chocolate chip banana bread!

I haven’t found a better bagel in the valley, I think I like them better than Back East in Tempe. The espresso is delicious and not burnt like that green mermaid a lot of you love! If I could ask one simple thing, PLEASE standardize seasoning your fried eggs with salt and pepper. Eggs have a weird taste when not seasoned properly and I hate being the guy that has to ask for salt and pepper on my egg.

For all the coffee shops that I visited in this town, this is one of my favorite shops. The taste of the foods and the coffee was good and accurate as I expected. Besides, the waiter that served my order at that time was very accommodating and pleasant. I was greatly impressed with their shop. It was clean, fascinating, and worth it. Thank you!

Such a cute little place, I adore the aesthetic here! The barista I talked to was so sweet and friendly. When I told her it was my first time visiting the cafe, she was so welcoming and asked me what flavors I normally like. She then recommended the Tuxedo Mocha, which is absolutely delicious, and told me that since it was my first visit, the drink was on her. I could not have had a better experience and I will absolutely be returning.

Believe it or not, best bagels in town. Every Saturday morning I pick up an egg and bacon bagel sandwich for breakfast, and a iced latte. Amazing coffee drinks as well. Drive through is always busy but very efficient.

I’m from out of state so I wanted to try this mom-n-pop stand alone place. I left the drive through in tears of laughter. The girl helping me was so sweet. But the irony of this place. The colorful flags, the “don’t conform sign” and the request for patrons to wear a mask in the drive through in the safety of their own vehicle. they certainly don’t want their liberty or safety hinged upon but are doing the same to their patrons. Oh the irony!!

Neat coffee shop with good salad and smoothies. I recently spent the better part of the day there, using it as an away office. Wedge salad was delicious and the berry/banana smoothie was refreshing.

This coffee shop is my favorite spot to hang and do my works. I really like this place because it has a nice ambiance and not too crowded as well. They had the most amazing coffee and pastries. The barista was incredibly friendly to converse with. One thing that drew my attention to this location was its architecture. They served the best and most affordable coffee in town.

I love this place! I found this place about a month back and have come in 10 times so far each time has been excellent. The service is top notch, everyone that Ive seen work there is super nice and the food is delicious! Not only do they have in house daily baked treats but they have actual food some vegetarian option are available too. They take all major credit cards and there is plenty of indoor and naturally shaded patio seating. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but they have drive thru service.

My absolute favorite coffee shop!! The staff are always so nice and helpful and the coffee is phenomenal. Everything Ive ever eaten here is pure magic, but do yourself a favor and grab some bagels or one of the best brownies Ive ever had!

We waited in line for 20.minutes after we ordered. Many cars after us got their coffee as we waited. No one even came to the car to tell us anything. Finally we were able to flag someone down who went to check and brought out a coffee that was not even what he ordered. We told the server how upset we were and that we had waited 20 minutes. She did not even apologize. We will never go back!

My family and I tried Copper star coffee for the first time today. It was a wonderful experience, the young lady that help us was tentative knowledgeable of the menu, her suggestions were spot on, her customer service was phenomenal. My worst nightmare would be if anything happend to this place. Nothing compares to this neighborhood hot spot. Been going for years and my coffee. A special blend has always tasted exactly the same everyday. It gets busy and it sometimes can appear like long waiting lines but they have lots of help to get you in and out and without feeling rushed or impacting the quality level. I still jump in line thinking it will take forever and they have proved me wronv everytime. Only a properly trained staff can pull that off and they do it everyday very smoothly. Great place to set the pace for the day.

The service is always friendly here and the menu offers a variety of vegan options. Both drive thru and walk up service is fast. And if youre a dog lover, have them groomed across the way while your pampering yourself with great coffee.

Haven’t been to downtown in so long and these people are still killing us with kindness!!! Not in a bad way at all but both times I’ve been back to order their awesome molasses cookie and latte with some caramel kick after remembering the drink after one previous visit ( great workers) haven’t not seen me from Adam made me feel awesome letting me get my sugar fix with the snickerdoodle when they were out of molasses. I appreciate the love and definitely recommend them to everybody wanting good service and great coffee and pastries.

Try the lavender latte! It is life changing. You need it. Its relaxing and uplifting at the same time. I doubted the combo but so so happy I gave it a try. The rest of the flavors are good too and the muffins are great if you want a snack. The drive thru is super convenient.

This place was pretty good coffee place. If youre looking for a low key place, or just trying to get away from the sell out coffee places, this is definitely a place to try. They had some unique flavor profiles for their drinks, but it worked. Speed of service was definitely there, and they even had a drive through there. All in all, and great little place, service up some good coffee and bread.

The whole visit to this coffee shop was outstanding! The service was incredible and the language barrier was really welcoming for my waiter. Only place I get coffee since the day they opened. Finding a good, friendly, cozy spot to drop in and enjoy some great coffee and spectacular bakery snacks are very rare to find these days. This one especially being converted from an old gas station really is a gem. Pet friendly is an understatment.

Friendly baristas and great atmosphere here. The smell of coffee and the company of a great book makes this a wonderful, cozy spot to relax.I suggest their house lemonade or tea with strawberry or mango syrup. You cant go wrong with their blended vanilla or simple cup if coffee either (especially with vanilla, caramel, or coconut syrup added!)Overall, the amazing service and overall chill atmosphere will definitely keep me coming back for more.

Its a lil hipster coffee shop and not easy to spot but their coffee and service is awesome. I went in for the first time today and they gave me free muffin which is also made fresh daily. They have a drive through if you are in rush but its worth checking the inside out.

I was waiting for my dog to be done at the groomer across the street so I stopped for a cold ice coffee. They had a a/c problem so they were closing early. Ordered a ice coffee and a muffin and sat outside under the shade of a tree add enjoyed myself as I waited. Both items were very good and reasonably priced. Service was great considering the problem with the a/c. I will go back again next time I take my poouch for a bath and haircut.

Prepare for a long post.First of all, the atmosphere is amazing.It is an old gas station that was converted into a shop, they still have the old pumps next to the drive thru window!Inside the walls are decorated with local art, they sell it too! So extra points for supporting their community. The lighting is easy on the eyes, and there was plenty of seating available without a crowded feel.The outdoor seating was awesome because not only did it feature local art like a table made of bottles and a fountain, but also lots of plants adding a less urban feel.The big bonus was the misting fans, in 117 degree weather it allowed My dog and I relief while I enjoyed my latte.Next the staff, which seriously offered the best customer service Iv’e had thus far. All of the employees were friendly and engaging, and offered plenty of suggestions. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this staff, they are simply amazing.As for my drink I actually ended up getting two since My pup could hang around without getting too hot.First I tried a plain iced lavender latte. ( I forgot to ask for almond milk because i was enjoying talking to the staff so much!) They make their Lavender syrup in house with local fresh lavender too! It was so good I went in for another.But this time I was going to try the house special, mocha lavender. My barista suggested to get the white mocha in it instead. White mochas are usually too sweet for me, but this latte was sooo good. I was spending some time in Phoenix and needed a coffee. I went on Google Maps and scrolled past 8 starbucks, a sketchy bikini coffee shop, and probably 2 or 3 interesting coffee shops to see Copper Star.It was worth the drive. Fantastic Cappuccino, Fantastic Macchiato. This Chai however was something special.I didn’t sit down planning to eat lunch but after I found myself so pleasantly surprised I grabbed a sandwich, and was blown away.I don’t get to Phoenix often, but if I do I’ll make sure to get back to Copper Star!

It has a strong chai odor the moment you walk in. I personally love it. It wasnt very busy but have heard it is gets crazy busy in there when school is in session. The drinks were pretty good, fair prices.

The coffee here is truly amazing. We’re pretty basic coffee drinkers (americanos), but the flavor to Copper Star Coffee was superb. The setup of this place is cute- and old gas station. However, they’ve entirely closed their inside, so the outside is quite crowded at times.

I showed up here on a suggestion of a business associate that I was meeting to go over schemes and dreams for future community development along light rail corridors and boy was I delighted! First I ran into someone I knew who was biking the area (bike parking) secondly I ran into some fellow localists that really push local business ownership (great local business owner culture) and third thing, it just happened to be my first visit so they revised me with a FREE lemon tart that tasted divine!!!The staff is friendly and unhurried. There is plenty of seating with options inside, in front and in back. There were even friendly little birds that came up to my plate and ate crumbs from it. I had a great experience here and planned my next business meeting there for next Tuesday. I recommend it.

Great espresso - actually cortado - it is so hard to find a place where you can consider having an espresso - typically shops have baristas that know how to pull levers and really dont understand how it important it is to manage the extraction - so i usually get a very bitter, under extracted espresso. If you add a lot of milk and flavorings, etc - it really doesnt matter.the cortado was excellent - very sweet/smooth. i will be back

I love going to Copper Star to work and I enjoy supporting a local business. Their basic brew has the citrus notes that Im not a fan of. Atmosphere is top notch though!! And I really like how they display local art.

Copper Star Coffee is amazing. Delicious coffee, beautiful old building. A drive thru area for safe curbside pick up. I always get their hummus plate, it comes with kalamata olives, pita bread, roasted red onions, tomatoes, and zucchini. I got a side of focaccia bread with it the last time I went, and it was so warm and delicious, I finished it in the car on the way home. Their interior is nicely decorated with plenty of seating and surfaces to plop down a laptop, or couches to sit back and relax with a good book. Thats one of the things Im looking forward to once the pandemic is over.

This cafe will be your new model for local neighborhood coffee shop. I love Copper Star purely for the location, the staff, and people who call it home. The front porch seems to always have pups waiting for pets and treats. The converted gas station is a great environment for work, a visit with friends, or to watch the great staff in back baking their homemade goodies. I reason I didnt give them 5 stars is for their drip coffee, which I think is a solid but doesnt knock my socks off. Then again, youll always see me with one of their cups drinking the coffee out front with my pup.

Was a regular here from the day they opened, got coffee here 7 days a week 365 days a year... Great local owner and staff... unfortunately They have developed some consistency issues that have lead me to use a different coffee house each morning. Ill swing by again, if I get a killer coffee I may revisit making them my regular stop each morning. They are worth visiting if you are in the Melrose District and need a cup of joe....
