We were clients in one or more units for both our business and personal storage for a number of years, including before the change in ownership and management. After their purchase, U-Haul over several years upgraded the lighting, the ventilation and the parking areas years. They did not raise rates without notice and then offered optionsThe areas were well lit and security visible. We found the staff agreeable and always open to suggestions and comments. The facility was clean and had moving and storage items available for rent or purchase if needed.This is one of the better storage centers in this part of town and I strongly recommend them.

Buyer beware!!! I recently rented a truck and had an unexpected situation that required me to have the truck for multiple days. It was to my surprise that my bill was almost $300. Turns out the insurance and dolly rental are not a one time fee, but a per day charge. This of course was not ever explained, nor was it mentioned by the staff during the conversations I had saying that the rental would need to be extended. I guess it was buried somewhere in the fine print. There are MANY U-Haul options, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

This location defines what customer service is all about. When taking delivery of a U-Box, there werent any moving blankets in it for us to load. I walked in to this location because its right down the street from our house and Rod Thierauf gave me his last couple moving blankets for us to use. He understood how frustrating it was to not have what we needed to load this up in short time frame and would have given us more blankets if he had more. All around great experience at this location.

Rod and Luke were some really down to earth and professional guys. Super helpful, caring, all of the above. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great service. Thanks guys!

I cant speak highly enough for the staff and management at the U-Haul Moving & Storage of Paradise Valley location. My initial contact was with Cayla G. who was incredibly kind and patient helping me sort out the details of the 2 units that had been rented and filled on my behalf, since I would not be able to be there in person for another month. I was in the midst of a legal situation, and the staff was again - incredibly respectful, patient and understanding as I sorted everything out. My next contact was with GM Rod, who personally went above and beyond to help me even further, when I found it necessary to change/update the security on the units, until I could arrive in town to retrieve my items. By the time I hug up the phone with him, not only did I have the peace of mind that my heirlooms would be safe and sound, but I was also completely overwhelmed with the amount of empathy, concern, and grace Rod and his staff had extended to me as a stranger in a tough situation. Thank you again to Rod, Cayla, and everyone at the Paradise Valley location!

Recently I had to visit my storage unit at the 4110 east bell rd in Phoenix. I had not been here for almost 3 years having moved to East Mesa. When I arrived I realized I did not have a key for the lock that had been put on by u haul .. I went to the office and was greeted by Colleen whom I remember dealing with in years past.. She was very nice .. as always.. and proceeded to radio Rod to meet me at my unit.. Rod showed up very friendly. Easy to talk too and took care of my problem immediately.. I remembered Rod from pass visits as I have been a renter for 15 years... he too has always been friendly.. professional and willing to take care of any problems.. We were all very tired and where there for hours moving storage. Rod came up multiple times to help out. He was so nice and helpful. we even offered money for the amount of help we got. but he didn’t want that. Rod was amazing.

Our experience with this store was awful. My wife reserved a truck to move my daughter on what was supposed to be a “no contact pickup” due to concerns about the virus. As we were trying to figure out how to obtain the keys using the app some rather agitated fellow comes running out and basically gets up to about a foot and a half from my wife and once he starts talking he goes non-stop for a good five or ten minutes, distracting us from what we’re doing and providing little useful information. When I asked him directly and politely to please step away and give us some space he clearly takes offense and states the obvious “I am wearing a mask” (he’s wearing a Trump 2020 Covid mask — that was the red flag) and then continues with his diatribe about how we needed to photograph the truck inside and out so we don’t get blamed for damage, and so on. During this distraction my wife is having some difficulty figuring out how we’re supposed to obtain the keys and my phone rings twice from a number I don’t recognize so I ignore it as I get a lot of nonsense calls. Apparently this was U-Haul trying to call me, because she had listed me as the driver, to give me a code to open a lock on the back of the truck to get the key that was locked in the back. With all the noise from this guy I never heard the text that came to my phone advising me the call was coming. We migrated closer to the store, a little frustrated now, where this guy again gets right up close to my wife to look at her phone. Again I asked him to please step back and this time he says rudely that he won’t rent the truck to us and we need to leave and that if we’re unhappy with the app I need to write a review. By now he was clearly about to lose it (twice I told him he needed to calm down) so I said fine, we’ll go to Home Depot. My wife is about in tears as we go to get in the car. We both tried to call U-Haul customer service but the wait time was 25 minutes. Then as we’re pulling out he runs back out and asks us to come inside so he can do the transaction manually. Since we were basically in a time crunch already I went inside and a woman who apparently was his wife tried to do the transaction. I give her my credit card and then she tells me she can’t rent us a truck because U-Haul won’t allow us to complete the transaction, probably because the online transaction failed. I went to Home Depot and had a truck thirty minutes later. I will never visit this store again.

I never write reviews let alone POSITIVE ONES! It takes a lot!! The husband and wife that own this store are so friendly and helpful! I just needed a few moving boxes- quick, efficient, friendly, even brought the boxes out and placed them in my car!

Rod was amazing worked with him for 2 days straight the man went out of his way to accommodate above and beyond his normal everyday job description if you are in North Phoenix North Scottsdale or Paradise Valley please use his UHAUL location he also has a large storage facility! I have had a unit here for a little ove 8 years, and I have been more then satisfied with the service so far. The facility is always kept clean and looking presentable. I feel good leaving stuff there because of the 24hr surveillance. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I have to mention its nice to see Rod and Colleen back running the show. They were there when I first got the unit and its nice to see theyre back. They are always so helpful and are truly genuine people. 10/10 would recommend!

This place was very welcoming. The staff was very professional and so kind .the facility and vehicles were clean through and through, the vehicle I rented was in perfect mechanical condition. Clean clean restrooms...the man and his wife who operate this location are on top of every detail. I rented a storage here rather than close to my home because of this. The price es were very reasonable as well. Most of all it felt more like I was getting help from a friend then renting storage space. Thanks again guys youre the best.

We moved from New York all the way to Arizona with a uhaul trailer attached to the back of the car. We were extremely exhausted and Rod went out his way to help us out. We had to unload everything from the uhaul to the storage room and helped us with the most heavy stuff in the end. I really really appreciate his help. Its the first time honestly that someone really wanted to help us like that despite all the work he had to do, he still decided go help us. Thank youuu. 💖💖💖

I came into this location with what was clearly an injured hand and the older blonde lady at the counter didn’t even acknowledge my existence. I bought what I needed while she refused to make eye contact, I droppped my items (messed up hand) and she never offered to help. I had to force my body into the door to get out, all the while hissing under my breath because I was in pain.She never looked up, never offered any help, just sat there like I wasn’t a paying customer. I work in retail, I run to door when someone is clearly injured or debilitated in some way so that we can help them. Never go here.

I believe the dynamic of the family managing this facility is awesome. They truly have been accommodating and attentive to the fulfillment of my needs and requests. The cleanliness is another great factor. The air quality is consistent for all units inside. I couldnt imagine obtaining storage space from any other facility after my thorough experience with the Perkins!!!!

We have used this location for moving materials and boxes and renting a cargo van. I just called again today to rent a cargo van and every time I have any interaction with the people here on the phone or in person they are always friendly and helpful. It makes my life easier. So I go there to do a simple return of unused boxes. Before I even stepped foot in the store a guy runs out eagerly inquiring if I have my receipt and then excitedly tells me he can’t do the return without one. I know that this is not true as I’ve done box returns multiple times and it’s never been an issue. An older man and lady then come out to join the effort to turn me away and talk about how they don’t know how to look up a transaction from another store and their computer may not even do it. Not sure why I as a customer have to go the extra mile because they don’t know how to do something that’s clearly possible because I’ve done it several times before.They go on to give me some story about how they are “just a small store“ and some other reasons about why their computer system can’t do it. They tell me to go over a mile, I guess that’s a “real” U-Haul store or something. I tell them they are a UHaul store, with the UHaul branded boxes, they sell the very same boxes there, and accept returns, but apparently not my returns. I tried to tell them that it’s bad customer service to expect the consumer to know the intricacies of what each U-Haul Center is and how it’s connected to the overall franchise. But apparently that logic went over their heads. Rather than sit there and fight a losing battle with people who clearly had no inclination to help me, I just went over a mile and return the boxes to a guy at another center who did not bat an eyelash at me missing the receipt.I would be very wary of going through them for any U-Haul products or services, who knows what else they will claim they can’t do and turn you down or give you the runaround, because they are “just a small store“.

We were at the store on 32nd street after waiting in line for 45 min we decided to leave, we ended up here and are so glad we did! Friendly quick service!

The best uhaul in the world!!!!! The couple who run this U haul are so above and beyond what typically is not the most pleasurable experience...this UHaul is the exception!

This place has new owners that are racist and disrespectful. They harrass my boyfriend every time he goes to visit our storage unit for not putting in some code when I was never given a code in the first place. When we visit the unit together nobody says a word to us about putting a code in. Im not sure why they need to rudely speak to my boyfriend every single time he visits our storage unit that his name is on and we pay for. Prices are not even reasonable especially not for a non climate controlled unit. Regret renting from here and will be changing companies or locations as soon as I can.
