Milkshakes! They have delicious milkshakes! They’re cold, creamy and delicious. Pretty straight forward if you ask me. Let’s say you’re out shopping for a new couch and accidentally land yourself inside this delicious establishment. I don’t like milkshakes you say, but I’m in the mood for something sweet. What a conundrum. Bam! Have an ice cream sundae!

I grew up in the Pittsburgh area so I had been to the Milkshake Factory before, but I assumed after I went vegan that I could no longer go. I found out that they have vegan milkshakes though and I had to give them a try! I believe there are 5 vegan flavors to pick from. I got the cookies and cream one and it was everything I remembered milkshakes being like. Mine even had a dairy free sticker on the lid which eased my worries about accidentally getting a dairy one. I definitely recommend trying these out if you havent already

This is by far the worst Milkshake Factory I have been too. Starting with the cashier what is with the attitude are these people trained to be rude and nasty with certain people. Her attitude was like give me your order and get out. Then the girl with 30 different shades of hair gets my order wrong and acts like it’s my fault. The manager is no different same nasty attitude. Studies show when you have people down to the managers who don’t know how to manage and lead by example these places tend to shut down in a short period of time. This Milkshake Factory in East Liberty won’t be here very long unless there are some serious changes down to that manger. This was the worst experience ever.

Firstly I don’t plan on going back there again. The cashier was very friendly and got my order correct, but the team member that had made it made the wrong thing. I kindly let her know that it was not what i order and she seem to have an attitude. Then she when on complain to her coworkers thinking i could hear her. I ordered a dairy free milkshake and it definitely had dairy in it and it really messed me up. Not only that but the cup wasn’t even full. It was not worth 7 dollars for a sub par “dairy-free” milkshake.

Super great location right in the heart of East Liberty. Great area to walk around, eat, hangout and eventually end up at Milk Shake Factory taking in a sundae.

I would have given this 5 stars, except I believe that it is a bit pricey for what you get. I do understand the quality of the ingredients are important to consider cost ways, except the cost outweighs the expense of quality and portion given. Ive only had 1 shake thus far (salted caramel), which was good, not too sweet and I could suck it through a straw without using a kirby. It was also esthetically pleasing to look at. Customer service was good. The place had a clean look and well organized. And the other reason docked it a star was the seating was very limited. Still worth trying.

I have had lots of milk shakes over my time. I’m from central pa I just moved to Pittsburgh about four months so I’m still trying out new places. The staff here were very friendly and very quick to serve! For the milk shake itself it’s very fancy they make it look better than it tastes that’s for sure it wasn’t that cold for one kind of disappointing. Was deft factory made goods not homemade by a long shot. Would have been so much better homemade. Where I’m from my area is big on homemade foods and ice creams so we have some of the best milkshakes u could ever have tasted in your life so it makes it hard for me to find anything to compare overall still wasn’t to bad and the price was fair I suppose.

Worst experience ever! The server had an attitude as soon as we walked in the door. She was less than helpful. Milkshake factory should consider hiring servers who want to work and provide customer service, not servers with piss poor attitudes towards guests.

I am not a huge milkshake fan but I really enjoyed my vanilla milkshake from the milkshake factory!

Great milkshakes, premium pricing. I almost always order the Jakes Shake, and its usually good. Occasionally, they mix the shake poorly and leave strange syrup at the bottom, which makes me queasy, but overall the milkshakes are all worth the premium price tags. The chocolates arent exceptional, but they arent terrible either. Its not called The Chocolates Factory, after all. Presentation is lacking compared to other premium milkshakes like Fudge Farms, but they do use their own ice cream, which is pretty decent. During the pandemic, their performance was outstanding, keeping only the minimum number of people inside at all times and maintaining a well-sanitized flow.

The milkshakes were delicious! I got the bananas foster and the person I was with got the midnight cookies+cream. Both were well made and flavorful!The place looked very clean and organized. The employees were wearing masks that covered their noses and mouths, which was refreshing to see. Im glad they care.

Delicious milkshakes - Im always very full after one whole milkshake but it is definitely a treat! A bit pricey but when they have deals it is very worth it! Their signature shakes or seasonal shakes are always very pretty.

Stopped in to get a Dairy Free Chocolate Milkshake as I am lactose intolerant. The milkshake tasted amazing, however, after drinking the milkshake, I became rather sick due to, what can be deduced, from dairy in my milkshake. Need to be very diligent with them when you are lactose intolerant and want a milkshake.

So cool they have dairy free milkshakes! If you’re having a milkshake craving (as i often do) it’s a relief to have this around. The only downside was, at least for the nondairy chocolate one, it was pretty sweet. I got a pretty gnarly headache after drinking it, should have balanced it with some water. My bf got the coffee one which didn’t taste quite so sweet! Overall I think it’s just so cool vegan milkshakes are so readily available. Woo!

This place is fabulous! I been wanting to come here for months now. There are different kinds of milkshakes. As well as ice cream sundaes and chocolate candies. Everything is locally made. I purchased 2 Jakes Shakes for myself and my mother. They each cost $7. The taste is worth the money. I truly recommend The Milk Shake Factory as a place to buy milkshakes.

Honestly i was very dissapointed. Im a big milkshake person and the presentation of the restaurant is very good so I thought I would give it a try. I got a raspberry chocolate milkshake and my girlfriend got a mint chocolate chip milkshake. With tax and a tip they strong arm you into giving because of the payment system that cost just shy of 16 dollars.My raspberry chocolate truffle tasted like a mcdonalds strawberry milkshake with chocolate syrup squirted into it. Would you call that a deluxe artisan 7 dollar milkshake? I wouldnt. The mint chip milkshake at first sip was great, who could mess up mint chocolate chip?? After a few seconds though you begin to notice this clearly wasnt made with mint chocolate chip icecream. There is a strange artifical after-flavor that fills your mouth remiscent of some sort of plastic.Needless to say I will never go there again, and I am pretty upset that my girlfriend thought we should get milkshakes on her because she wasted her money.Go to steak and shake, their service inside is terrible, but boy do they make a good milkshake.My hopes for this restaurant wilted like the flower in this photo.

I typically don’t like milkshakes. But, this milkshake is amazing!!!! Not very dense and the perfect amount of sweetness. The cookies n cream was awesome. Definitely try it, even if you don’t like milkshakes. The decor and price are great too! You won’t be disappointed.

This place is awesome. Their milkshakes definitely meet my chocoholic standards and you get what you pay for. Ive never really tried their chocolates, but I would highly recommend milkshake factory for desert or a craving. The one in east liberty is limited on seating so you may not be able to drink your shake there unfortunately.

Milkshake Factory does me right! The shakes are delicious, creamy, and a good price. My wife and I rarely get them but they are always worth it as a special treat to ourselves.

There were 3 of us ordering. I ended up with 4 milkshakes and an extra charge. No apology. The person delivering the milkshake said, “well you were charged for 4, do you want your money back” uh yes and next time say sorry. $35 dollars for milkshakes and you can’t get actual customer service. Ridiculous.

I finally made it into the store after walking by for the better part of the last two months to catch my bus. A nice place with reasonable prices for the quality of shake/sundae. There is a lot of space wasted for bar standing and waiting in line, so dont plan to sit inside if you have a large group with you.A nice addition to the neighborhood but not sure how it fits into the existing culture of the Penn Avenue stores.

Beautiful, clean, and pristine. 3 words that can only scratch the surface of this building. The interior is a nice mix of old and new and has some poppin tunes! The employees are so nice and polite. Hand spun shakes normally take a while to make, however youre in and out within 5 minutes! Fantastic place to go.

Cant go wrong with The Milk Shake Factory. The shakes are all fantastic, the treats are great, and the staff at this location is always very friendly and fast. Great for a quick stop for treats at home or a nice place to stop for a simple family outing or date night.

Good prices and a good selection, of not only milkshakes, but other confections as well.It was somewhat busy when I was there (the East Liberty location), and took a bit longer than I would have expected.I was also slightly pressured (Im sure she wasnt meaning to) into leaving a tip, before I had a chance to gauge the service, try the product, etc.Otherwise, the classic vanilla and classic peanut butter milkshakes were great.

They have good Ice cream. Fried ice cream shake was good along with Jakes shake. Super sweet. Ask for it to be extra thick or it is slightly runny. Might have a belly ache after eating a whole one.

Both my little one and myself enjoyed the shakes. Next time I will get a simple classic flavor as the over the top milkshake I got was not as good as my childs classic shake.

This place has really different milk shakes. They have regular, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, but I bought one with caramel and coffee that my wife LOVED! Its a bit pricey and parking can be a slight problem, but its worth the trouble.

Excellent service and quite the variety of flavors! (I got the vegan cookies and cream.) They sell a lot of stuff that isnt milkshakes too, like chocolate bark.

Visited the Milkshake Factory on their opening day today and I have to say I was disappointed.1. Small serving size for high price. 16 oz. plastic cup that was not all the way full, with no whipped cream or toppings.2. $7.50 for a dairy-free milkshake (regular dairy are ~$5.50). At Burgatory I have gotten dairy-free milkshakes topped with decadent dairy-free whipped cream and a cherry for the same price as the regular milkshakes. Not to mention Burgatory and many other establishments give you the steel mixing cup with extra milkshake! Dairy-free should NOT be $2 more expensive than dairy.3. No for here cup options. Unbelievable that a brand new establishment only has single-use plastic with no option to drink out of a real milkshake glass. Also there was NO RECYCLING?! Its 2018 dude. If youre going to only serve plastic cups, at least have a recycling bin.4. Ordering from touch screens that dont show the price until you have selected the item. Additionally, the tip option on the credit card machine does not give you a clear option for no tip. These are both sneaky choices by the owner that frustrate me as a consumer.All of that being said, my dairy-free chocolate milkshake was creamy and delicious, but my overall experience as a consumer was negative and overpriced.

Nothing like a milkshake in the middle of February. If I was a tad bit older, itd probably look like I was having a mid-life crisis. This place is brand new to the community, but I welcome the invitation for cellulite. I had the midnight cookies n cream milkshake. Pretty good for a milkshake. Was it worth the $7? Perhaps. Better than a fast food joint? Definitely. Tasted like real ice cream. Not whatever cocoa butter corn syrup pork fat garbage they put in a McFlurry. The only way you will know if you like is if you try it out on the winter. Freeze your insides a bit. Suffer in the flavor. If you wait until summer, your whole body is teaming in despair. Desperate for even a flick of cold sensation. Dont be a wuss. Be bold!

I really enjoyed my time at the milk shake factory. Their prices are quite fair for what you get. Dont fool yourself the speciality milk shakes are the way to go. You know they put extra care into what they do. The enviroment is clean and the establishment prides itself on being clean. Ask about whipped cream before you buy so you dont have to pay for it later. They understand and care about your opinions. Try them out, definitely worth a try if your in town!

I suffer from nut allergies. This place has a specific station they use only for allergies and I watched them disinfect it before making my shake. Plus they checked the ingredients to make sure the shake I ordered was nut free :)

Love it here, theres a nice ambience, its clean and the milkshakes are tasty. I had a caramel macchiato milkshake that was the bees knees. They had a sample out for the smores milkshake that was also pretty tasty. I know what Im getting next time.

A delicious milkshake and chocolate shop. Highly recommend the Jake Shake, Banana Foster Shake and Smores Shake.

All of these locations are pretty similar, we have three in the city now, the oldest, Southside, a more recent one, PNC Tower downtown, and the newest East Liberty. Being that this location on Penn is the newest, its busy! Its clean though, bright. The prices are what you might expect from the chain, but the product is good. These snacks are more on the higher end price wise. Also, there is limited sitting, so be prepared to sit reallllly close to people while enjoying your milkshake.

Milkshakes are decent, nothing special. I was here in December 2018, and again in June 2019. The water fountain was broken in December, and still broken in June. Their credit card processing system is bad.
