Mmmm mmm! What a delicious milkshake! Thick and creamy I almost needed a spoons but it made for a ice cold experience until I was finished unlike fast food milkshakes that melt and are all foam by the end and usually end up giving me a stomach ache. They use homemade hard ice cream like the old fashioned way. I recommend the birthday cake milkshake the sprinkles gave it a yummy kick without too much sweet. I also got some chocolate covered strawberry’s that were the best I’d ever had the strawberry’s were still so fresh!
I love ice cream & milkshakes year round so I love coming here! Their milkshakes are so good!Once I got a Red Velvet that tasted like Chocolate though. (I hate chocolate ice cream)So I explained & asked if it was possible to get a different one. The lady was so kind & allowed me to do so.They sell chocolate, fudge, barks, sundaes, traditional & specialty milkshakes! And some other things too I think? Anyways, definitely try them out, yall!! 💕🥰
The Carson Street location has always been a great location! The young lady tonight went above and beyond to help me out with recommending and splitting a shake for my toddlers! Great service and great product! The chocolate covered strawberry shake is never a disappointment!
Great spot with many options. I got the Jake shake and got it made dairy free. You wouldnt even know that it was made with dairy free ingredients. The staff is very knowledgeable on what is or isnt dairy free in the milkshakes. I havent tried any of the other milkshakes but Im sure theyre all delicious. Fast service as well even on a Saturday evening.
I thought the Vegan Cookies and Cream milkshake was okay, it felt very heavy on the vanilla with little cookie. I could tell it was heavily sweeted (like sweetened vanilla) to cover up the non-dairy base that they used, it was about ~16oz, for $8 I wouldve expected more.
Shout out to the ladies who work there. They are so personable and professional. Everything they recommended was spot on. We had never eaten chocolate covered bacon before and one of the ladies said its something you might as well try at least once, so we did. And it was meh, which she mentioned is how most people react. But Im glad Ive at least experienced it once. I cant remember what milkshake I got, but I loved it as well as whatever his was. Both were delicious! The main space was super clean and had a nice look to it. I went to the restroom at some point and it was also very clean and well kept. Great experience overall, thank you!
Took my kids here after science center and they loved it. Staff iscquick and friendly. A tad bit pricy though
I didnt have any milkshakes from here - I got the chocolates. While they were reasonably priced when I actually tried them, none were labeled and they all tasted so similar that I had a hard time distinguishing the different flavors. It was just okay.
Great milkshakes you will love the verities. Made to perfection.
The milkshakes are good but the girl was cutting the bananas for the strawberry milkshake without gloves 🤮 I went and spent over 30 bucks just to be disappointed because that’s a safety measure even without COVID this was at the south side one on June 16th 2021
My husband purchased Al milkshake he said I it was excellent.
Nice milkshakes . I have tried classic shakes and hot chocolate.Must try is Hot Chocolate Float - Hot chocolate poured over vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream!!! YUM .Small place -unnecessary wastage of space by chocolate decor and empty wall behind the counter .Parking -big issue sometime.staff -Friendly and polite.Service - GOOD and fast .Cost - worth the taste .
The Milkshake Factory is a special place for a special product. Gourmet milkshakes ($7) for every sweet tooth—s’mores, birthday cake, peanut butter, and more beyond chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. There are plain milkshakes for those who prefer classics, too. A large selection of chocolates to extend your pleasure long after your drink. Even t-shirts and hats to showoff your Milkshake Factory support.
Always excellent. You must try the peanut butter and jelly milkshake. It starts as jelly flavored then transitions to peanut butter. How do they do that!???
Been here several times over the years. Always great shakes and chocolate delicacies. Staff is always friendly and helpful always a Pittsburgh staple when in this part of the city
The shakes were awesome and the staff was GREAT. Will be back for sure.
Great place to come to when visiting Pittsburgh, good shakes, sundaes, and deserts in general
Best Shake ever! Get the Bananas Foster!
Hands down the best milkshake I have had in my 31 years on this planet! Now some of you might be asking yourself can a milkshake really be worth $7? Yes, yes it can. From Smores to Red Velvet to Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, there is a shake for everyone. Do yourself a favor, stop contemplating it and place your order - you wont regret it.
I very much appreciate the vegan options here, and the ones Ive tried have been great. The lemon sorbet was passable, but not special, and the raspberry non-dairy milkshake (lets be real, its a smoothie), was also fine. Maybe their soy-based shakes are more exciting? Definitely not worth going back for the sorbet, but their peanut butter pretzel vegan shake looks incredible.
Staff are nice. And exercised covid precautions. Got wife chocolate and peanut butter shake. Promised to stay married to me another 47 years!
Good chocolate and ice cream. I really enjoyed the strawberry dipped shake and the boxed chocolates we bought to-go.
Just a milkshake... Nothing special or incredible about it...We showed up for vanilla milkshake day, and the offer was BOGO for two vanilla shakes. At the last minute, the salesperson offered chocolate chips but didnt mention the added cost. She didnt actually say that we had a choice of toppings. After we got our shakes, I mentioned that had I been aware that there was a selection of toppings to choose from, I would have picked a different one. The response was shoulder shrugging. Not motivated to return.
Creamy delicious milkshakes!
Delicious milkshakes, worth a visit. There’s some thing about how the added ingredients blend with the ice cream so well.
Fantastic shakes, fast and friendly service!
Omg....yumm
The fluffy guy behind the counter was a DB and very rude. The milkshakes weren’t that great either.
Lots of cool choices. But in this time of Covid, they had good spacing and great pacing. We were there at a perfect time and managed to get perfect shakes.
Pricey, but the best non-dairy shakes and sundaes around! Soooo good.
Very cool place. The milkshakes all looked good and the chocolates they had on display looked great as well. We biked here so I was more interested in getting some water than anything else, but the milkshake I had was very good. Id definitely come back here.
Good vegan options.
Absolutely wonderful. Nostalgic themed old classic soda shop atmosphere. Absolutely Delicious Hand made chocolate and shakes. They also have non dairy options which is great for vegetarians. Store is always clean, excellent customer service, friendly staff. Definitely recommend
I’m disappointed in the changes to the menu and the increase in price. I stopped in tonight for the first time in a couple years, very excited to have my long time favorite chocolate raspberry truffle flavor, which used to cost $4.95 for a basic milkshake. One look at the menu tonight showed that, instead of featuring a variety of flavors, all equally priced at $4.95, the main milkshakes are now the pricey gourmet milkshakes for $7, and the basic milkshake options have shrunk significantly. I suppose besides justifying a higher price, a gourmet milkshake also looks better on Instagram...We left without purchasing anything and will not be returning until there is a broader menu for basic milkshakes.
Have you ever wanted to drink a slice of heaven? Every milkshake this well oiled machines pumps out is made to perfection insuring nothing but pure sugary inebriation. Come in for the shakes, but stay for the music, polite and funny staff, and beautiful architecture. This is the original location of the entire corporation and it shows with how authentic it stays to the brand. They cater to dairy, peanut, soy, gluten, vegan free, any kind of allergy or dietary restriction you may have. Now excuse me while I go get 4 more shakes and develop type 2 diabetes.
Well of course its good! Its a paradise make of chocolate really. I like going after dinner for a cookie and they are all delicious. Milkshakes are very good although not the best Ive ever had. Its a little pricey and I would give 5 stars if they started making sweet crepes! I know its very European but pleeeaseee! Crepes are the best thing in the world!
Delicious. Only a few dairy free options, just basic flavors like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint and peanut butter.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Milkshake Factory! They have delicious handmade shakes.. floats.. And glorious chocolate that you can buy as an added treat. Very inviting place visually and tastefully! Anytime you are visiting Carson St. pay them a visit for your sweet tooth!
This was my 1st time in Pittsburgh. I was like a Milkshake place oh well. How surprised I was. The Milkshake was probably if not the best one I ever had. The place is small, quaint and very clean. Must stop when in the area.
There are a few of these across the city. This place is open late and busy until it closes. The desserts are very rich and decedent.
First visit. Delicious shakes. Clean place. Courteous staff.
Used to love this place, but recently they switched over to using vanilla ice cream for all their shakes. A chocolate shake made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup just isnt the same as one made from chocolate ice cream.They also wont do smaller sizes for kids anymore, so I have to get a giant shake for my 7 year old and he cant finish it.
Milkshakes are really good.
~~~UPDATE~~~A little late to the show, but worth it nonetheless. Before the summer began, Milkshake Factory discontinued their Wednesday happy hours. This offered all (maybe most?) milkshakes off at half price. This was the main reason I would go as $8 was a bit high to convince myself on. Once they decided off with this trend, I (sadly) haven’t been back since. Just down the street is FudgeFarm, which does have gourmet milkshakes and special discounts as well. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re close!!~~~~~~Basically a regular at this point every Wednesday. Stop by on my way home from work during milkshake happy hour. I’m lactose intolerant and I STILL go here all the time, so if that doesn’t tell you how good it is, I’m not sure what else will.
So great! Cute place, delicious shakes. Service was fast. Shakes were big enough to share. Highly recommend!
MilkShake are amazing. Love this place for quality, favor, freshness and cleanliness
Great shop with many different options. Milkshakes are the best Ive had (from VA). Always try to go when I come to PA.
Great atmosphere and top notch milkshakes. I dont think I need to say much else. Their cookie dough shake was absolutely delectable. Will definitely return as soon as possible!
Love this place
They closed down a hour earlier than store hours🥺
Amazing
The milkshakes are fantastic and the variety of chocolates is superior. The location is quite small, however, and there is not much space to sit. When a line starts to form, it generally blocks the entrance due to the lack of space as well. Overall, I recommend this because of the great milkshakes (especially the banana foster one), you just may have to enjoy your treat elsewhere if it is too busy.
The milkshake factory is a delicious treat. Appealing to all senses. I was disappointed to find out the ice cream they use has corn syrup in it. Not a surprise since its in most ice cream. I stopped going there when I was pregnant. The second disappointment is they dont recycle the plethora of plastic cups they use each day. Yet the city has free recycling. Why would you not recycle? Its so easy?! Throw it in a blue bag and put it on the corner. Done!
Worth the little bit extra you pay for a milkshake here! They also gave dairy free options which is nice
My niece & nephews loved it. Service was excellent. It was as good as I imagined. Great place to bring the family.
Good sakes
First and foremost excellent customer service. Exceptional Gluten-Free Ice Cream & Milkshakes. The Milkshake Factory has numerous options for anyone who is Dairy and/or Lactose Intolerant. (Lactaid Whole Milk). I was surprised to learn that they even have a great happy hour. This is most certainly an added benefit.Im glad I visited this unique place of business. I will return.
Best milkshake I have ever had, needs more seating tho.
Great shakes but I didnt know about the great chocolates. We had two Jake Shakes and split a peanut butter meltaway sundae. Had to save the sundae for another day because it was so filling.
When the whole family enjoys it, how could you not?! I was just so excited they had dairy-free options; so DELICIOUS
Great milkshake as usual. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a great flavored high quality milk shake. Non dairy options are available as well.
Quaint place with sweet treats! I bought some tasty chocolates to take home, but the best part were the shakes. They have a TON of recommended shakes on the menu, but you can get any flavor of ice cream shake you want. Its a great place to hang for a bit and people watch as people walk buy on the South Side. Enjoy!
I had a birthday cake milkshake. It was like a dream come true. Thing is I was belly aching already from eating at fatheads right before going there. The flavor and consistency of the shake was amazing. They have a selection of chocolate barks that is insane.they have a white chocolate cookies and cream bark. If you are in the south side you Must go here
My teenage daughter took me to this place th either day. Very nice store. They make an excellent product. Im just not sure its worth $6 for a milkshake. The sweets are good too.
Best milk shakes and fresh chocolate in pittsburgh
