BUYER BEWARE. Please inspect your items before consuming. This chocolate cake recently purchased had mold inside of it. The cake was opened the sameDay of purchase and it had mold. This is unacceptable. I will now be more cautious when I come to this store. Store is always clean and staff is for the most part friendly.
Fruits were so fresh and very tasteful. Like this store very much. Liz & Jim Lacchini.
As a discount grocery store, had a broader selection than expected. The store is laid out spaciously and logically. There were also a few surprise items that I did not expect. PRICES WERE GREAT!
The Lidl‘s Store in Plainview is one of the better Lidl Stores. When I am in that area I will always go there. It is clean and a well organized Store.I am very familiar with the Lidl Stores they come from Germany and have been around there for many Years.I know that we are not used to Stores like this in the Us. But you should look at it as a small version of BJ’s or Costco. A lot of there products are veery good. There produce is fresh and good. The Bakery is excellent (fresh baked Bread). And some Thiemes they have great finds there. I purchased a paar of shoes for my Husband there and he loves them. The prices are great.Check them out you my will love it.I definitely do.
Talk about bargain pricing and a new way to grocery shop. They mostly carry their own store branded items but Ive found a few general brands around the store. What is fun is the hidden gems in the store - gourmet and non gourmet branded items. My guilty pleasure is the clearance aisle where you can find soups, dips, and packaged prepared foods on sale (note expiration dates) on the already discounted prices. They also sell houseware and limited clothing items - reminded me of walking into a Kmart or Krogers type store where you can buy lots of things besides groceries. They have super discount prices on everyday items like cream cheese, eggs and milk. Great frozen foods section too. The weekly specials on fruit and vegetables is what keeps me coming back, its cheaper than your local Stop and Shop or Key Food supermarket. They have a bakery section and deli section as well. My go to aisle is the meats... Lots to choose from and prices are everywhere but still reasonably marked for the market that it is. Organic and plant based fare available too. Bring your own grocery bags otherwise youre buying the paper bag for $0.05 at checkout.
Disappointed to say but every time I go, most sale items are out of stock. The inventory is always so low especially for the fresh produce. I have tried different days and times and get the same result and leave disappointed. I heard that since they are expanding so rapidly they cater to new store openings and short change the stores that have opened a year or so or more. Not good. They have big shoes to fill replacing the former ShopRite of Morton Village and are doing a poor job at it. Gave it three stars for the great fresh bread and I was able to get the sea scallops on sale after one of the workers went the back to check for additional inventory.
Not as cheap as it was when they first opened. The store runs out of sale items and can be a pain in the neck to check out. Usually only 1 cashier. Self check process can be slow also, you need to operate the scanner in the right order, there is no return button. The younger generation likes ice coffee which this store doesnt stock.
Good selection, consistent quality. Love the self check out. Their app is useful. Wish the East Meadow store had a self checkout area.
You cant beat the prices! Staff is friendly and helpful, store is clean with wide aisles. They may not have as many products as larger supermarkets, but worth the visit. Bakery dept. is awesome!
Its a great store, I kinda wish that they would have had just a little more products. Great folks work there.
Lidl is a nice grocery store. This one is located on the site where Shoprite used to be. Shoprite moved away down the road and is just huge. Comparatively, Lidl is much smaller. It carries quite a lot of the products but not everything. The fresh produce area is pretty good, but besides that, the packaged sections and frozen area is small. There is not much variety and many times they dont carry a lot of stuff. So that becomes an issue. But their prices are quite reasonable which is why we go there. And its kept very clean.
Not the best supermarket. Kind of on the expensive side. Has a lot of items that are unique compared to shopright down the road.Clean for the most part.
Nice prices but always running out of sale items
Their own brand stuff is awful. Produce cheap but hit it miss.
Its pretty much like the Lidl Ive been too in France except that it seemed loaded w more junk food here. One thing that its clearly stacked on is meat choices, frozen and cold seafood. And of course what is appealing are the competitive prices. Still some quality foods at lower price as well. I always wish the home goods to be better stacked and organized. But i always find fun goods and fruits and veggies are usually quality. What i lik for is one or two out the boxe goods...
Lidl has been a very good general supermarket and seasonal item store for me. They do run out of some items but I think in time they will get their stocking requirements down right.
So happy it arrived to LI!The only thing I really missed from Europe
My favorite grocery store these days. Everything is so cheap and they always have new items. The one downside is you cant just go and buy one onion or pepper you have to buy the whole bag. Also due to the rotating stock you cant always find what you need. Other than that you cant beat it. I typically go here for most of my groceries and then go to ShopRite for produce because Im only shopping for one.
A good local store, doesnt have everything, prices are great lots of off brands but good quality stuff
Fresh products. Helpful staff. Best place for snacks and products.
Ok store to pick up things on the run to me not very organized
Very Competitive price, very nice but limited selection of grocery items. More like Trader Joe than Shoprite! Love it
I like lidl, they have a wide variety of food, clothing, office supplies, etc. Ive been to the one in East meadow, I feel this facility does not have a huge variety of vegetables. Jus like a few things like cucumber, tomatoes squash, but some stuff like bell peppers, and a few other things I needed, they didnt have. Hopefully they make some changes soon!!
Heres the new kid on the block for our neighborhoods. Totally new concept for groceries plus, in America. I have seen them in Europe and so, to a degree, I knew what to expect. They carry many items under their own brand name and a lot of familiar names at discounted prices.Try this new experience.
Love the deals, quality of food. Always an adventure when shopping.
I love this store. Fresh produce. Great fish. Also the flower and plant section is so cheap and beautiful. I never leave the store without buying from that section.
Nice store. Interesting German products along with American grocery products. Clean. Some of the staff could use a little customer service training.
Plainview is not as clean or stocked as it use to be. Disappointing.
Like Aldis, but with more choices. Missed out on the German pretzels because they were sold out 😞
The workers are nasty and inexperienced. However the management is excellent. The sales items are usually great value.
Amazing deals and the quality is outstanding. Great fruit, veggies, meat, bakery, fish amd more. You will love it and their prices are so low!
Good selection, even better prices. a no-frills version of Trader Joes
Seems like every time you go to the register there’s a problem especially when they don’t know how to use a gift card you have to wait till somebody comes over and shows them what to do also well I was looking for a Brillo who doesn’t carry Brillo lidl does not also could not find the dishwashing soap
First time in a lidl store. Ill definitely be back. Wish we had one upstate by me
Good market, bakery. I enjoy bakery. Cheap and covenient.Meat, Milk, good enough, but vegetable little bit not enough.Sometimes fresh, sometimes not much.Anyway I go almost everyweek.
This supermarket has THE BEST VALUE...every single week I spend way less than I would at shoprite or stop and shop...and its fun because I also get to shop for clothes and household itens...LOVE IT
Fun little market. Compared to big chains, they have Limited selection of items but the items I have picked have been fantastic. The produce has been fresh and reasonably priced.
Lidl sent out a sale flyer Wednesday March 10th I went to purchase.a 2 in one hedge trimmer/chainsaw #313268For $89.99None in stock are expecting 8 only they have 3 stores in the area with a population of approximately 230,000 thats a total of 24 pieces do they really want to do a retail business in our areaNo rain checks! Is this false advertizingNo one in the stores have seen themMarch 11th at 4:05 pm did or are they going to get them? Is it just me ?Dont know if same at this storeYou cant call them I physically went to the other 2 stores waste of tim
Always a great place to shop for both essentials and the eclectic. More choices than your run of the mill supermarket.
Great value and spacious. Amazing prices on meats, dairy and eggs. I was able to buy a carton of extra large eggs for 69¢. Just remember to bring reusable bags because they do not have any plastic bags.
Great price on many groceries. Can not wait to go there again!
Love this place to shop, affordable prices for their goods and some times you can get small electronic appliances, not cheaply made, for a good price. Their beef is mostly grass fed,but their salmon is portioned already so convenient. The fruit is so fresh and affordable. The down side is if you see something you like stock up,cuz the next time youre in there they dont have it anymore.Oh,your shopping cart is disinfected for you, just in case you forget your cleaning wipes!
While having a wide array of greatly priced items its is not fully compressive. But if you are looking for the bang for your buck go here.
Great store and I do love shopping here. I’d give 5 stars but both times that I have purchased seafood, they were no good. I’ll buy everything but the seafood from there.
Sometimes its hit or miss, but Im still grateful that they are local and I still prefer to shop there over other stores. They have great deals and prices, some products are great quality for the price... though, I still have to sometimes get the rest of my shopping list at other stores. If you go in with an understanding that they dont always carry everything you are looking for, youll find that what you do get is a good value.
The best prices for everything from meats, to seafood and produce! Not crowded in the mornings and friendly staff! Get fresh out of the oven bread from their on-site bakery if you’re there around 9:30/10am!
A very good family place to go to
I shop here once a week. They have the best frozen pizza collection. flat pizza with goat cheese and kale is the best of the best.
Clean store, competitive prices, good selection of products, and ample parking. Recommend!
Love it! Prices are great and everyone is very friendly and helpful!
I love this store - this isb my go to supermarket for a couple of months. Its never too crowded, the prices and coupons are great, I pretty much can find most of the groceries my family needs in a daily basis. Go here and AVOID LIDL in Huntington, much better layout.
If you like Aldi, you will love Lidl. Same concept with affordable groceries and organic selection. The fresh bakery is one of the best. Highly recommended.
Very clean, very friendly, best grocery store in NY.
Great prices - good quality - varied products .Store was clean - staff went out of the way to assist and answer questions. Easy parking in a large lot. Neighboring stores are a good mix.
Great store fantastic amounts of goodies stuff you cant get anywhere else
There was only one checker for the entire store, and she was fixed to help with the self checkout line also. She was pleasant, but the management needs to do a better job recognizing the needs of the store, especially when the line is all the way down the aisle for both the self checkout and the checker lane.
A little bit hard to locate the item I am looking for. But price wise its incredibly low. Surprisingly you may find interesting items
The prices are great, for what you can find that is. Awesome prices for empty shelfs (need more stock!!!). Definitely a different selection than the normal supermarket. Great place to stop first but wont be the only store you go to that day.
Interesting as usual...
Nice supermarket different from normal and very similar to Aldi with an European feel. The prices are reasonable. Love the on premises bakery. I would recommend others to check it out.
A lot of excellent options and open storw layout. Large store with a small store vibe. Needs coconut milk as an option, 1 of my only criticism.
Conveniently located. Not going to find everything one needs but has quite a good collection of quality grocery items. Wish they would add more of the organic and chemical free items and need more fresh produce. Store is clean, spacious, items well organized. Self check out is an added convenience.
Great place to shop manageable price and unique stuff
Good prices, but not enough selection of products.Example icecream: turkey hill mint chocolate chip thats it.
Not impressed at all. Especially with items like cold cuts and meat products. Felt like produced on assembly line and not fresh. Long Island doesn’t need this. Shame that they severed Best Market and they became this.
Love Lidl. For those who haven’t been or heard of the store, Its a new supermarket chain which is capturing grocery market share very rapidly. Its a similar concept supermarket like Aldi where they have promotions every week and special buys based on various categories. When i moved to plainview from Queens, i really missed Aldi but ever since Lidl has opened, it exceeded my expectation far more than other supermarkets. Having a fresh bakery made it even better. Its a very reasonable market with weekly specials you wouldn’t wanna miss on.
Stocked with almost everything, despite people buying like crazy. Friendly staff, clean, wide aisles, great products. And the prices are great, too! I especially love their croissants and hazelnut croissants, they are delicious! I also highly recommend heir German sour dough bread!
Great fruit and vegetables at a great value.
A god collection of stuff but you need to review the prices as everything is not discounted compared to other grocery stores. Remember to take your own bags it helps
Very nice helpful people and great prices.
All the same stuff as the one in Garden city but less crowded. Good prices and good selection of food and merchandise.
Clean store, friendly staff, great prices
Place is awesome. Has a bit of everything. Prices are good and it is always clean.
Lidl is a different shopping experience than we are used to. Things like chopped meat in a tube takes time to adjust to. Fresh baked products are good for the most part but they have to learn to make bagels that are not a lump of dough. Employees are polite and helpful which is a great change over the previous occupant of this mall space. The parking lot is still terrible but this is not the fault of of the stores but the malls owners and or managers. While we have to adjust to this new way of shopping, they have to adjust to the local shoppers needs. GREAT PRICES on basic items and you will be very pleased at your total bill.
Its not lidl lol
Its such a different food shopping experience more like youd find in a small town many different brands and like a general store youll find duct tape, tools along with produce a nice addition to plainview.
Only 1 cashier was available. I wanted to pay cash since my total was $1
Good grocery store with great prices. Limited selection. Thats how they keep the price low
Found what I needed. Store has your basics grocery needs.
Great prices if you can find anything freezer always empty most shelves empty they really need to stock more!!
Good price. I like the bakery section. Variety of baked goods. It also taste good. Overall all the products are fairly price . You won’t get better bargaining anywhere else.
Nice produce. Interesting products.
Good for picking up a few specialty items
Surprisingly an inexpensive supermarket that has good variety of items. If youre looking for a good variety of food at a good price I would highly recommend. They offer their own brand and one name brand item.
Honestly a great place to shop. The prices are great especially for storebrand and they have many good options in terms of nutrition.
Selection of frozen food not that much. not that many different variety of items to choose from. Just didnt like it
Very nice place. Always clean, prices are amazing and quality excellent
Impressed by their prices and assortment of products. They offer some health conscious foods, but it is more of a regular grocery store than a specialty store like Trader Joes. You will have to read the labels to make sure youre not buying something with nitrites or other preservatives. The meat selections are great, offering grass fed beef, no hormones or antibiotics added. I think we will be shopping here often, but it is no Trader Joes. TJs is still #1!
Lidl is a great addition to the Plainview area. Really clean and plenty of options at great prices!
This is a great store! They have very reasonable prices and an excellent selection. Staff are helpful and the stores overall layout is excellent. I am very excited that we finally have some selection in our grocery store options.
Nice wide aisles, store is very neat and organized. Great self serve bakery section with a great selection and cheap prices. Great prices on cheese and European cookies. Huge selection of cheeses. There is no deli department. Deli meats are pre-packed. Prices are generally cheaper than Trader Joes or Fairway.
Super clean, has everything and very reasonably priced.
Went there today which is their GO day - a smaller assortment but very good selection - awesome imported food including my favorite escargot in shells :) the setting is more European, i.e. lower shelves and (much) wider isles which reminded me of my Iceland trip. We are very fortunate to be 3 minutes away from this Lidl location and will go on a regular basis. Almost forgot, pricing is awesome even without the GO promos.
Affordable prices, clean store. Sells Germany products.
Good products at good prices. They do not have everything you need, and availability varies from day to day.
