Im so glad I made the decision to have my 5.0 Merc Cruiser worked on at Daddyos. The new owner Anthony really knows his stuff. I never realized how terrible the boat was guzzling fuel until I got it back on the water. Great return on investment! Highly recommend!

Probably using salt water rebuilds for rebuilding. Fresh water engines are the way to go. Better to purchase out of state and pay some shipping for extra years of use.

Worst experience of my life and still not over. Purchased two new engines in May 2016. Ended up changing out the Starboard engine 3 different times and Port engine twice due to overheating between May 2016 and October 2016. Daddy Os (Alfred and Anthony) blamed it on impeller, muffler, lack of coolant, heat exchangers, etc until they finally admitted that the machine shop (Accurate) misfabricated the heads and that was what had been causing all the issues. Once we finally got factory heads installed we then had a major oil leak. I am currently in the process of solving the oil leak. I have spent 4 times the initial cost of the engines on hauling the boat and paying another company to remove the engines and reinstall them. Once oil leak is solved, I still have to go through the aggravation of suing them and dealing with extremely unreliable engines. The experience has pretty much ruined my entire year of boating and caused an enormous amount of inconvenience as we live on our boat and have to keep moving on and off the boat to hotels while we try and solve the problems.

I wanted to wait before I wrote this review One year to be exact .... I ordered a new motor for my 1981 Sea Ray sundancer 5.7 2 piece main seal...and this motor runs like a champ.....These guys walked me through the break in and would always answer my calls ....I was going to buy a new boat instead I brought a new motor.........Thanks Daddyo Marine. I have been dealing with Daddy-o for more then 10 years and never once was there a issue. If there was anything Im certain they would stand behind it.

I bought a marine engine from Daddyos, and had a nightmare experience - it had acceleration problems when installed, and we were on the receiving end of nastiness and abuse from them when we tried to work with them and fix the problem. They reluctantly shipped replacement parts, lied about when the parts had been shipped, and Anthony from Daddys became quite offensive. Check out other negative reviews - not a good business, not a good experience.Update - just learned that Daddyos put an automotive carb on the engine, not a marine carb, which not only is a problem in terms of performance, but is also a serious safety issue - could result in explosion and fire - auto carb should never be installed on a marine engine - if you buy an engine from them, better ask what kind of carb you are getting.

My experience with Daddy-Os was great. I read some of the unfavorable reviews - so I was concerned. Both my dockside mechanic and the marina that pulled my old engine and replaced it with the rebuilt engine from Daddy-Os said they had not heard anything negative abou Daddy-Os. I visited Daddy-Os in Pompano and bought the engine on the Tuesday before Christmas. The marina in Fort Lauderdale pulled my old engine and Daddy-Os picked it up Wednesday morning. They transferreed all the accessories from my old engine to the rebuilt one and delivered it back to the marina the same day. I was up and running Thursday. The engine sounds good and runs well. So far so good. If anything changes I will let you know - but right now I am a very satisfied customer.
