Went for the Fort George tap takeover for Portland beer week. Amazing! Heres the equation. A few well healed taps + a supply of rare and tasty bottles + dad rap on wax = instant classic.

If you return a few times, Ive found that the bartenders get to know youre tastes pretty well, and can make solid suggestions about their ever changing options.They offer both indoor and limited outdoor seating (right on Foster Road, for an unmistakable neighborhood experience), and a good selection of board games, so bring a few friends and stay a while.

My neighbors. And good neighbors they are. Fantastic beer, both in shop draft, and to go. Theyll even open a beer or two of your choosing from their case for retail price. But dont forget to tip like it was a draft and not on your total! Also great art and the occasional live music/holiday party.

Friendly people with a fantastic selection of beers. They have an extensive but not massive selection of beer, always changing, which is nice, because it keeps things fresh and easier to decide.

The tap list is small, but you wont go wrong with any of the beer on it. Everything they choose to put on tap is of the highest quality and rotates frequently.The food is deceptively good. Again, its a small selection, but it is created with care and is always delicious.They have the same attitude toward the selection of bottles and cans in the coolers. They know good beer and stock good beer. Have questions? The staff are extremely knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction.I highly recommend this place.

Kate is hands down the best beer sommelier on Portlands Eastside...always with a smile and a make you feel at home vibe...and her knowledge of all things beer means it is easy to enjoy the kind of beer you want without having to puzzle over the dozen beers on tap or the dozens of beers in their coolers. And their oysters are always scrumptious. Just a buck a piece on Sundays.

I was here for a barrel house brewery tap takeover. The staff was super friendly, I liked the vibe and there were games available in the back. I had the Flanders, which, as a sour beer fan, was awesome. Probably the most sour beer u have ever had, it was like a malty warhead. Looking forward to sampling more from Barrelhouse.

For the record, I love this place. Great selection, fair prices, knowledgeable staff. Sometimes they open ten or fifteen minutes late, but thats just an excuse to pop in the coffee shop up the block. Lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

This place is a minute walk from my house. Im not an IPA drinker but a friend in town was. Tender was very helpful and his recommendations were spot on.

The staff is friendly and the taps are well-curated. IPAs are usually on 4 or 5 of the 6 taps with a cider and some other style also available. There are also a few coolers of great beer for consumption on or off-site.Highly recommended!

Coolest beer bar in Portland, hands down, at least according to this out of towner who visits a few times a year. The beer menu is always top notch, but they also have a large beer case that includes a number of eclectic choices, likely there will be something that everyone in your party will like. They also have a great little bar menu that includes a really great soft pretzel that comes with stone ground dijon mustard that is to die for. My favorite part of the N.W.I.P.A. experience is the extremely chill vibe I encounter every time I visit this one of a kind Portland establishment.

Great spot. Good beer choices, even if youre not into IPAs. Usually a cider on tap, except in the winter, and a really good small menu. Most weeks theres an event going on, a pop-up restaurant, beer tasting, cider tasting, restaurant take-over, lots of cool stuff. Sometimes even live music. And if you happen to come on burger nights, OMG. Usually you have to reserve/pay for them in advance, but they are so worth it.
