Why are you even open if you cant take someones order, you should close your doors and let someone else open a real coffee place, or at least fire your manager and hire some of the knows what theyre doing. You need to focus on customer service and you have none. Who knows if the copies good you cant even place an order.
Took my mom here and she was highly impressed with their service. The gentleman who helped her, asked what her definition was of a flat-white so he could be sure to make it how she wanted it. The coffee came out perfect for her with the right ratios and excellent flavor.
Great! Pricy, but worth every penny
The coffee is pretty good and they have great pastries, but I have yet to be served by a friendly barista. Everyone who I’ve seen working here looks very annoyed to have to serve me, like they’d rather be anywhere else but there. I am always the one to say “hi, how are you?” and “have a good day”. I just get my coffee and leave, I don’t really feel welcome there. BUT they make some pretty cool foam pictures on your coffee, as a plus.
Quick service. Didnt love the flavor of the latte. The latte also was not as hot as I would have liked.
Good coffee, nice people.
Great coffee and great ambiance! Will be back soon.
Amazing space! Me and my partner love the atmosphere and the kindness! Our daughter loves the accepting staff, as we do, so thank you!!
This is my happy place. Incredible atmosphere, the best coffee I’ve ever had, and it’s such a fantastic place to sit and take a breath between moments of your day.
I love this place. I love the atmosphere and the baristas, attitude and all. Foam art is on point, coffee is tasty. It can be busy because its across the street from community college, but if you make it between class breaks its not too crowded. Give it a try. You wont be sad.
This intersection(N Killingsworth and Albina) is one of my favorite moving portraits of Portland. The mix of folks here gives one a fairly accurate pulse of whos in the city. Love it.
Best Cinnamon rolls in Portland... HANDS DOWN!!!🖤🖤🖤
I really like this coffeehouse. The cold brew isnt the best around but I really enjoy stopping here. The food is great I really like the pumpkin muffin. The atmosphere is cool and theres a lot of room inside. Theres plug ins for electronics as well as wifi. The girl who works regularly is pretty as well :)
Nice coffee shop. Drinks are great, pastries a bit lacking - could use bigger/better selection. Maybe its just me but I always feel not quite cool enough to hang out here. Lol. Has a grunge kinda vibe to it.
I have frequent several times and was happy to find a place where homeless are welcomed, and treated kindly. That is important to me. I am not homeless but to welcome all people is important and I have witnessed this at Coffeehouse Five. But then I have not felt welcomed. No one waited on me, one Barista busy and another chatting and made no move or indication of moving toward me as I stood at the register, looking at pastries but ready to order.Maybe too sensitive, my coffee shop closed and miss it much, was always created and treated well
Coffeehouse-Five is better with each visit. This is my go to writing spot. It sits on N Albina and Killingsworth. I call it my little glass coffee shop across from the old Bee Company that shut down in the late 90s or early 2000s(?). Great place to sip warmth, people watch, create. Do me a fave frequent this place before 8 or after noon. I like it to be closer to empty than full. Enjoy!
Will never return. Had a terrible exchange with one of the baristas. They dont really care about you like other coffee shops do in the area. I used to love it for the atmosphere provided but if a staff doesnt care about its customer deeply there is no reason to return. I am deeply disappointed.
The best coffee ever in U.S.A seriouslyand nice barista, cool service, good locationIll come back next travel
Its fine as coffee shops go. The cold brew was good, the service is borderline hostile, and its on the rough side in terms of cleanliness. However, its a good place to study.
Great cold brew!
I loved it! When Im on my way break, I can just walk over there, get a hot chai tea & go straight back to my PCC classes! 🥰👍✌️😁
Chill place with good coffee. Perfect for casual meetings, working from laptop, studying or day date.
I love their coffee. Ive never had a bad one from here and Ive got it in my head that it always gives me the best caffeine fix. Staff has always been friendly to me.
I get mochas here reasonably often during the school year. Can get pretty busy but the quality remains regardless of how busy they are. Love it
Nice place to hang out, friendly locals and an interesting place to people watch. Toasted bagels are toasted to the point of burning so be warned.
I come often. I prefer it over Red E down the street. A little more affordable and far less pretentious. Great vibe and crew. Its the perfect coffee shop for students and locals in the neighborhood.
I so wanted to like Coffeehouse 5, but over 3 days and 2 tepid and one down right cool cappuccinos I wont be going back. The coffee itself has a great taste...but they need to work on the temperature.
Not as quirky as the name might suggest, but original enough to stand out in a region full of interesting coffee. Open and calmly lit, with good, friendly, quick staff and a pretty good latte. The fact that this Vonneguttishly named cafe is on Killingsworth? Priceless. This is truly party of a Portland breakfast of champions ;)
Nice little local coffee shop, limited food menu (like literally just a sandwich). Nice people. Decently quiet for how busy it is.
Average coffee but the place has a subtle punk rock feel which I love. Also comfortable couches, and great people watching areas.
Good food, good prices, and good service.
Awesome coffee house across from PCC Cascade. Just the basics. Barista reminded me to say please and thank-you. We all need reminders sometimes and life is so much more pleasant with a little common courtesy, dont you think? (picture of coffee cup goes here) Youre welcome (smiley face).
Good if you like pretentious coffee people. sort of expensive, but worth it for the most part.
Only two different flavored syrups. They need a wider variety in order to have increased customers.Very displeased
Great shop if youre a masochist. Intense air of accidentally sitting at the wrong lunch table, staff physically incapable of smiling. Otherwise nice and quiet, sort of how a house gets quiet after mom and dad fight.
Poor service. Asked for a dark roast pour over and was told that since there was only 30 minutes till closing, it could not be done. A pour over could have been done in less than 5 minutes. Nonetheless, ordered a regular roast coffee and the size of the medium cup looked like a mini cup for a three year old. It cost $ 3 but the coffee was not hot and tasted flat. I decided to ask for a reimbursement. I am glad the guy did not give me any hassle. But, the service and coffee needs a facelift.
I go here almost everyday and really enjoy the excellent coffee and atmosphere. The Baristas are very nice and have even bought my cup of coffee for me when I forgot my wallet at home. 5 STARS
Wow! I didnt have to pay $5+ for a latte! And their coffee is really good. Really great atmosphere too, overlooking Killingsworth. :)
My local coffee shop. They are welcoming to the entire community, the coffee is good, and the wait is never too terribly long. The baristas are standoffish at first, but they warm easily if you come in a few times and show em some love. Get an americano, smoothest in Portland, and a cup of their oatmeal. Its heaven. Look out the huge windows and people watch, or do some home work. Whatever. Its all good here.
Great coffee house Hangout right across from the school
Ive always gotten my coffee to go, since I work just down the street, but Id love to be able to sit and people watch for a bit. The coffee is always great, and you can tell the baristas really care about the product they put out. Its a little spendy, but Id rather give them my money than Starbucks.
Good neighborhood place to grab a bagel and coffee. Friendly staff and well lit space without being pretentious.
This was one of my go to places as a college student. Today that has been ruined. The staff came in off of a smoke break did two trans actions and couldn’t be bothered to even wash his hands before serving some one. He then trotted right outside and went back to his smoke break. Not to mention his taste in music was terrible. When asked if he could put something on that was more calming he said what do you mean!? I didn’t even finish my drink I was so disgusted by his behavior. Wash your hands seriously ! Ewwww I won’t be back!
Coffeehouse Five is a great little corner of the world. Right across from a PCC campus, you will often find a mix of ages and personas enjoying their coffees in this open cafe. I myself often come when I need a spot to work on school papers or research. I sit by the window and enjoy free refills on the drip plus a pastry as I alternate between watching the other patrons, observing the world outside the large windows, and doing my work. Sometimes Ill even finish the day with one of their beer selections and chat with the baristas which makes for a nice end to a perfect coffeehouse visit.
I love the coffee here and the baristas, it has a great atmosphere and is super welcoming. this is my go-to study/hangout space. i love it here, sad to leave it behind when i move :(
The coffee here is good,so is the place.. the staffs were very polite.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK!(.)I went in on December 12, I ordered a iced chai almond milk and it was absolutely disgusting. It taste like straight cinnamon and barely taste like. The lady who was serving me and my girlfriend seemed to have an added to the entire time. She didn’t even tell us our drinks were ready.Whoever the lady was, was more interested in talking about her show last night to a coworker than actually making the coffee we ordered.I and my girlfriend ended up throwing away our drinks. I’ll never go back!
The staff is pretty snippy but the food and coffee is good! parking blows!
Pretty typical collegiate coffee shop. Could use a little cleaning.
I like the seating. They need more outlets for computers. Services is good. Drip coffee is weak.
Good traditionally near-college Portland coffeehouse! Interesting baristas, interesting music, college bookstore right across the street, good coffee and tea selection, couch, dark wood, wall art, some food, even has beer :-) Three corners of the intersection are attractive, the fourth cries out for renovation, which lends a bit of city gritty to this location.
Great place and very nice staff, drip coffee was weak and almost see through, latté was great
Local. Chill. Free WiFi. Sweet Coffee.
Good coffee, great place. Nothing like a cozy coffee spot
Not always the friendliest service but a great place to study or get work done. Just be aware that you will never find a seat on finals week.
Friendly staff, great food and drinks at low prices. Fast WiFi :)
Came in before closing and was given service and was able to sit around a while and play some cards. Kind of pricey it was like 5 dollars for a small steamer.
The coffee is pretty good but wow, the people working there arent friendly at all.
The drinks were great and the atmosphere was nice
Coffee house 5 is awesome!! I recommend this place to any one. You guys rock!
Good coffee. Average prices. Plenty of seating. Friendly staff. Busy space.
Great espresso, cool location, friendly people working. Pretty quiet normally, great place to read but maybe not for a big group of friends.
Nice little place, good coffee. I miss this place. I moved to a different place
Good coffee, some pastries (not very many so get there early).
Good coffee, no backtalk. Just like it was back in the day!
Its an OK little coffee shop, decent environment to work in a pinch.
They have both good coffee and beer here. Nice place to study all day.
High quality caffeine! Bizarre people + dogs!
Great relaxed place to come and work. Good coffee, chill staff, and an awesome atmosphere.
Droning metallic music, and when I asked them to turn it down so I could check out the guitar I had just gotten in, I got attitude, after tipping a buck on a cup of coffee. Hospitality is clearly lacking. The coffee wasnt bad.
Loved the coffee and space, but it felt like you were bothering the barista every time you made made a transaction.
The place doesnt look very clean for food and beverages, and careless staff with an attitude.
You might not want to get into a justified dissagreement w/some of the old regulars there, even if they start it by harrassing you¬ hearing your plea for them to leave you alone!... once those particular privileged latch onto you beware that youre@the short end of the courtesy stick when it comes to the management there(hopefully your race notwithstanding!)... give up while you can!,or out! on your ass you are! for life!!?...just a humble observation ...=^.^=...this from a bit back in the past for me...
Went here on a recommendation. Great coffee and atmosphere. I used their wifi all day...and also had a pretty good sandwich.
Great atmosphere and location. Often too cold inside, and not a ton of comfortable seating for the space.
Excellent espresso and pour-overs. Food is decent. Like the baristas- cool, but not too cool.
If you need coffee and a place to chill between classes or whatever, its a good place to be.
A favorite local hang out. Friendly staff, great tea
Perfect collegiate environment to get quality snacks and coffee with gr8 staff members
Great coffee. Rude staff.
A nice place to read a book and drink coffee. Their chai is awesome.
Food is fine, location is convenient. The staff really does not seem to care at all about the people who come to the shop though. I felt a definite air of them wanting me to go away and leave them alone. Too bad, really.
Good prices, great coffee, and awesome staff. My favorite place to get some school work done, or hang out with friends.
It would be a higher rating but this place smells bad. I had to order my coffee to go.
I’ve been sitting here listening to some horrible album blasting overhead where the lead guitarist must have broken all but his D string. Seriously left early because it was so bad.
Great place, good prices, location and staff. Will come back
Good coffee, uncomfortable chairs, loud if people are talking.
The barista here just played POTATO HEAD BLUES (1927). Automatically makes this place 5 star.
Very cozy and comphertable place with good coffee!
Best latte Ive ever had. Friendly people.
I like this place. Its cozy and the coffee is good.
I was in the neighborhood; meant to drive to Extracto to get coffee beans for home, but since I was already walking by I did drop in and got an espresso to see if I should give these guys a shot as I didnt remember them as really great... The guy pulling the shots got me floored - I think he himself was a bit in awe of what hed run into, he said that hed played with the temperature and found one which truly got the a lovely complex flavor out and that really was the case; a great shot it was, espresso to behold - different than Extracto or Stumptown, really rich flavor without dominating presence.I got the beans.I love this town...Pavel
Theres a very rude dude that works there with lack of attitude and helpfulness.
This place is great. Usually filled with students who are working on homework.
