I have bought a number of things from this location and i’ve always had a positive experience. Rick is knowledgeable and very friendly. He’s always patient when I ask questions and honest with his opinions on products. I’ve never felt as if I was being sold anything just to make a buck. After going to pretty much every guitar shop in town I can honestly say that I feel most comfortable here and the prices are always fair. Went in to get some maintenance work done on my viola bass and the owner/luthier, Rick, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Though it was a quick fix, he didnt even charge me so I cant thank him enough. Super glad this place exists and am a loyal customer for life!

The shop itself is fine. Kind of standard music store. But Ive been three times during their stated business hours and theyve been closed two out of three times. Im tired of wasting my time and gas going to a shop that is closed when they say theyll be open

An East Portland hidden gem. Great prices and selection. Rick did a fantastic rebuild of my guitar and finished it within days of me dropping it off.

Hey all. I was needing some guitar accessories and saw that there was a new Old Town Music location in my neighborhood. I made the trip over and on entering I was greeted by Matt. He was super friendly and laid back. I instantly felt at ease to look around and Matt encouraged me to try any guitar in the sound room they had in the back. They had a decent selection of guitars, basses and amps. After looking around I grabbed a few sets of strings and had pleasant conversation while completing my purchase. It was an awesome experience and I plan to give them more business in the future as a result. Check them out if you get the chance!

Im a frequent customer of most of the Portland area music shops. Ive been to Old Towns flagship shop several times and always been impressed with their friendliness and selection of new and used gear, especially pedals.Imagine my disappointment when I ventured far into the bowels of NE Portland to visit OTM2 just to find a nearly empty store. On top of this, the location makes one nervous to even leave ones car; tons of trash and broken glass in the parking lot.The inside probably only had 20 guitars, 4 or 5 amps, and a few pedals and packs of strings.Sorry, I love the old store, but I cant recommend this one at all.
