This was my first time at the downtown mall and I was very happy I made the trip to get another Tumi. After wearing out my old bag for 7 years I knew I wanted the same investment. Thankfully Kathleen was there since I was on the fence with all the options available. She was extremely knowledgeable and considerate of all my questions, I was thrilled to make my purchase. She had information for absolutely everything I asked and more. It has to be some of the top service I’ve ever had and I wasn’t being “sold.” 10/10. I’m not sure if she was a manager but she should be. Thanks!

Over the last year and a half I have purchased three Tumi suitcases from the Portland Oregon Pioneer Place Tumi store (a Latitude carry-on, a V4 Continental Expandable, and a V4 Wheeled Brief). I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service and products. I’ve (amazingly) put some hard miles on these bags, even in Europe, and even with the COVID restrictions. All the bags are a pleasure to travel with, they’re roomy and pack beautifully. The Wheeled Brief has a strap so that if can be easily and firmly secured “piggyback” on top of the Expandable. They glide smoothly over rugs, cracked cement, cobblestones. They are easily manageable up and down escalators and in and out of trains. They have successfully survived many hard knocks. One airline managed to dent a corner of the V4 Expandable bag. I took the bag into the Pioneer Place store, they were most helpful and reassuring. They shipped it off to the Tumi repair center, covered everything with the Tumi warranty. Although the repair center did repair the dent, the Pioneer Place staff examined the repair and decided that it was not good enough. I left the store with a brand new bag. What a pleasure to work with a merchant who offers quality products, stands by them, offers excellent service, and employs such charming staff!

I bought a Tumi messenger bag well over 15 years and it was my go everywhere/do everything bag and believe me when I say I put that thing through hell and back. It’s a little frayed around the edges with some minor lining issues, but that thing was built to last, because it still looks great. Still, I decided it was time for a new one. Came by the store 04-19-19 and the very nice sales woman showed me what they had and of course my eye caught one of the more expensive bags, but you could tell it was made to last and the sales woman (the receipt said Carol) showed me the thoughtful features they put in at this price point, like a subtle magnetized zipper pull so it doesn’t jingle, but once I put it on, I was already sold. They also do a quick little subtle embossing of your initials on the back of the bag which was a nice touch and it was completed by the time I finished paying. All in all, it’s my favorite kind of shopping which is quick, informed and relaxed. And I already love my bag! See you again in 15 years...

This Tumi location is consistent with the brands reputation; offering a majority of Tumis current product lines at their stock price. Tumi bags & accessories arent cheap, but their quality is superb. Worth the price of ownership IMO.

Do NOT buy a Tumi bag. I was given one and, within less than 75 very brief uses, one of the handle straps broke. (I only use this bag for one purpose, once a week, for a short local job - no distance travel.) I contacted Tumi, certain that they would want to stand by their work and, instead, I was told to ship the bag (at my expense) with a payment of $45, and they would get back to me with the repair charge estimate to which they would apply the $45 and ship it back to me at my expense. If I did not elect to pay their outrageous repair fee, I would lose the $45 and still have to pay a return mail charge. I just contacted a local luggage repair shop to see if they would repair it, and the person I talked to told me he completely understood my problem as he used to work for Tumi service. He averred that Tumis product and service were completely full of it, and recommended the line Briggs and Riley for proper quality craftsmanship, as well as prompt and low-cost service (I havent used this latter line, just reporting what the luggage repairman said.)
