Its called H&F Foreign Auto Repair, but it should be called Frank Hernandez the Honest Mechanic.(This mechanic shop is located behind the Oil Can Henrys on Miller Valley Road in Prescott, Arizona).Ive been taking my 1997 Subaru to Frank for about five years. Hes kept it running and is honest in his work. For example, last year, Frank replaced my spark plugs and spark plug wires. Turns out one of the spark plugs probably hadnt been changed for several years; it required a fair amount of time to get to it. The other shop had just changed the three that were accessible.This month, my check engine light came on twice. Franks diagnostic tool showed it was something with spark plugs. Frank ordered replacement spark plug wires and installed them. When the check engine light came on again, Franks diagnostic tool again showed it was something with spark plugs. He was found a defective spark plug replaced it.Cost for these two repairs: $0. Frank said it was under warranty and refused to take payment.Thats why I keep coming back to Frank. Hes a good, honest mechanic.

I highly recommend this shop. I was so lucky yesterday. Went to AutoZone to have check engine light checked. They told me whats wrong and recommended me to go talk to Frank.What an awesome guy. Honest and fast. Hes amazing will be forever coming here!!P.S, Im a single lady and used to being taken advantage from unscrupulous mechanics. This guy is not one of them!!!

Frank put the the spark plug in a wrong number. I showed him the diagnostic sheet with spark plug number that was misfired . Went to a different mechanic shop and verified that Frank put in a wrong site. Also, took my $15 that’s not even last a minute of labor. Waste of money and time.

Latch on the back panel of my pickup was broken, and since these guys were next door I decided to just take it next door. Frank fixed it within 2 hours for free!Also as of 10/2013, the location provided on Google Maps is wrong (address is correct though). The business is actually a bit more south by where Oil Can Henrys is.

I had a water pump to install and a few stripped threads to tap. Took it to Frank on a recommendation.He took three days longer than he said he would - What, are you in a hurry or something? He was nice but gave me a pretty bad time about stripping those threads. He charged me close to $300.00 for tapping the stripped threads and installing the water pump(I supplied everything except the bolts),. Ive seen other reviews that say he gives a fair deal. $300.00 seems like an awful lot to me.2 weeks and about 30 miles later low and behold, the water pump leaks. Near 1/2 gallon had leaked out by the time I realized it.Took the car in again and with barely enough time to get back home received a phone call that there was nothing wrong.When I picked up the car, I said I hope that water pump doesnt leave me stranded with my two kids in the back seat. Apparently Frank didnt like that because his response was you can fix it and walked off.After the amount of money I paid him... Grrr. In the end, I had to retap the threads and reinstall it correctly myself. Boo. I paid a lot to fix some stripped threads. I guess on the positive side I learned how to do it myself though.Apparently Frank doesnt stand behind his work. Maybe he should get 1 star.

This is where I get my car repaired. Its pretty rare nowadays! Frank does such a good job, I feel bad that I dont have to come back. My car has never run so good. Thanks Frank!!!!
