Note: Cash is NOT required like it was in the past.First time here, and I was looking for the coconut ice cream, which Ive been told rivals that which you can find in the Caribbean. Sadly, it was not available today. But I did get to try two great flavors. The Dark Chocolate Orange tasted just like a good orange dark chocolate bar. Both it and the Peanut Butter Cookie I had with it had a nice, somewhat dry texture that I really appreciated. The Passion Fruit my son had was good, and interesting, but not something I could ever order. My wifes Vegan Pumpkin and Vegan Mint Chocolate Chip were better, but still not something an ice cream purist like me would order. There was a long, long wait to order the ice cream. You have to take a number (I was 12; 86 was being served as we arrived). But the process was orderly and very COVID safe.Theres only one size, and it costs $6 per clear cup. Portion size is only average. A good experience, but not perfect due to a few things. Id still come again, though.Update: after a second visit, Im downgrading my rating. Its just not living up to the hype. The ice cream is fine, and I think the vegan option are great (for being vegan), but Im just not impressed enough. Either the portion size would have to be larger, or the flavors better. 3 stars.
I have been here two times and the ice cream is very good but not the best I have had. It would be nice to see more seasonal flavors. The great thing is their vegan ice cream is amazing. I had to wait 45 mins on a Friday night and 25 mins on a Sunday afternoon. Get a ticket when you arrive to place an order.
THE BEST ICE CREAM IN PRINCETON. So many unique flavors, daily. They change they flavors every day and incorporate seasonal ingredients in their ice creams. They also make the best hot chocolate Ive ever had. Be warned, its very thick but also extremely delicious. You can tell the quality of the ingredients are superior to surrounding ice cream establishments.
This ice cream shop has some unique flavors. I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was truly “vintage” like many other places in Princeton. I enjoyed a butter pecan milkshake. Not the most clever choice of ice cream flavor for a milkshake due to the pecan bits, but it was VERY tasty. My friend also enjoyed her milkshake which she says she must get whenever she is in the area. I would love to try their other milkshakes whenever I’m in town. The only downside is that they wouldn’t allow my friend and I to try any samples before ordering so we had to cross our fingers that it was going to be good.
Made with wholesome ingredients you can taste with herbs sprinkled in some flavors. One of the best ice creams that I have tasted! Come fall/winter, they have the thickest hot chocolates just like the ones in Europe/France. It’s like “eating” molten chocolate, not really drinking.
They supply unique and tasty ice cream flavors from the common such as vanilla bean it the adventurous as chocolate jalapeno. They also have fresh baked goods and treats. You definitely need to stop by when visiting Princeton.
I have been to the Bent Spoon multiple times and every time have been disappointed. Why can’t you have your ice cream in a cone? Why are the cups plastic ice coffee cups? Each flavor I have tried has tasted extremely artificial. I really wanted to like this place since it has such rave reviews and looks great, but I’m giving up.
Delicious! I had the vegan cookies and cream and a vegan chocolate chunk cookie. So good! The owner is the sweetest person ever too! I highly recommend a visit.
Amazing ice cream! Great texture and a unique selection of flavors while still having some safe picks for more old-school snackers. They also have vegan options and they do an allergy scoop for those with allergies, like my son. Great to have a safe place for him to eat!!
Tried a scoop of salt and pepper milk chocolate on top of dark chocolate orange. The subtle heat and orange were a delicious combination! So good! Will be back to try other flavors!
Some unique flavors. Well made ice cream. Most flavors are bold & not hinted at or subtle. Wonderful staff.
Overrated. Very few and bad flavors. How did they mess up something simple like espresso milkshake or chocolate brownie ice cream. Tasted like insects. Also, they had 30+ min of waiting time. Bit pricey too. Starts at $6 per cup. Only one size available.Mango milkshake was good though.
Love their ice cream. They have vegan options as well. If you want wider range of choice in ice cream, you should go early. Some great flavors are sold out by 9 pm. Also they have huge line & waiting so plan accordingly
Very unique flavors! Long wait time, but they have a great system and the wait is worth it!
The ice cream is just as pure and full of flavor as everyone says. As soon as you get there take a number then check the flavors currently in stock. Crazy busy on weekends in nice weather. Worth it.
This store accepts only cash. Ice cream tasted good (Turkish coffee, grape, mango, fruit cake, cookies and cream), lot of flavors to choose from. Service was good. I understand it’s a local business but for literally 4 scoops why 7$. Quantity doesn’t do any justice to price. Other than that, everything is fine.
Best ice cream shop ever. Provides vegan/lactose free options. Always new flavors using local fruits when available.
Definitely worth the wait for the ice cream. They have a lot of very unique and delicious flavors, the coffee with ice cream inside was especially good. There is a small park with seating right across the street which also has a large cornhole game to play.
I’m dairy free and their sorbets are amazing! I also love when they have the rare vegan ice cream. Absolutely delicious. Would love to see more creamy vegan stuff in their cool flavors (corn, basil, lavender, etc)
Amazing ice-cream. Vegan chocolate and blueberry walnut crisp are definitely worth trying.
Excellent ice cream! Highly recommend it!
Their flavors are delicious and they’re very creative. Regardless of the long lines at any given time, they try to be quick with your order. That said, they really rush you and make the whole ordering process feel a bit hostile. At least this was my experience the few times I went, hopefully it won’t be yours!
The Bent Spoon is a place I always stop by on my trips to Princeton. Their ice cream is amazing, and it changes with locally available products along with the seasons. They also have VEGAN options!!!The ice cream is creamy, delicious, and has the perfect amount of sweetness. And!!! Their team working there is just as sweet as their ice cream. 🥺
The temperature was 95°. We stopped by to see if their ice cream was the best. My mango sherbertc was delicious. My sons cookies and cream inspired him to go to Thomas Sweet and get dark chocolate covered jelly candy. Great experience!
I liked the ice cream but the flavors option is not what I wanted. I guess you have to go on certain days to get some good flavors. The mango ice cream was delicious even though it was vegan.
Love the varieties offered by this place. I had banana cream and coffee&cookies, they are great!
I grew up in Princeton and since The Bent Spoon opened, it has been the go-to local spot for gelato made with local ingredients. I went today and was intrigued at the new menu options. I got blood orange and avocado-lime. The avocado-lime was up to the Bent Spoons usual standard, but the blood orange recipe seemed different... More like regular sorbet than what Im used to getting from the Bent Spoon! Still good - so Im giving 5 stars, but I hope quality stays the same as tourism in Princeton increases (as it seemed very busy today).
Soooooo good. Really nice artisanal ice cream with both traditional and something odd flavors. The blueberry stout is a unique to them but my favorite is the coffee cookie which is basically cookies and cream with a coffee base. Not too sweet
Its worth the wait to get your ice cream. The vegan selection is great especially, the vegan hot cacao. The fruit sorbets are exceptionally good.
WAYYYY too pricey FOR SUCH A SMALL CUP!!! ONLY ONE SIZE CUP?!?! COOL COW IS BETTER AND CHEEPER SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY!!!!
It hurts my wallet to pay $10 for two scoops of ice cream that isnt even that good. the workers are lowkey incompetent because it doesnt take a normal person 20 minutes to scoop ice cream. also, i want to know who thought it was a good idea to make cicada ice cream because that is just VILE. anyways yall got some good cupcakes but thats literally it. #✌️
Unique flavors and so yummy that there are no words to describe the deliciousness of everything they make and serve. In addition to wonderful ice cream they make my all time fave cupcakes. Plus the owners are very engaged in the community. It is a must visit for anyone who lives in or visits Princeton.
Easily some of the best ice cream in Jersey! Super friendly staff. Try the weird flavors, theyre wonderful
I was at the Bent Spoon for the first time recently based on a recommendation from a family member. She gushed about this place. I have a food allergy, and I told the woman taking our order, and specifically ordered a flavor that accommodated that allergy. When I got home and opened my pint, I took one bite and immediately had a reaction. I had been given the wrong flavor. I returned very upset the next day with the pint, and the staff was OUTSTANDING! They were so kind, understanding, and apologetic. I didnt ask for a refund, just an exchange, but the gave me both, even after I protested the refund. I was blown away at the customer service and kindness. Also... the correct flavor was delicious!
I’ve cream is good. Customer service stinks. Not a good value.
I appreciate a lot these kind of local businesses that offer healthy yummy food items! We had a late ice-cream dessert and I appreciated a lot the authentic dark chocolate taste of the dark chocolate sorbet! You can tell you are eating that certain flavor that you asked for, not just a blend of sugars: real ice-cream! They do have some seats both inside and outside to sit and enjoy your treat, but there are also many benches at walking distance, like across the street, that you can also enjoy.
One of our favorite Princeton stops! Always unique flavors with delicious texture and taste! Also, while waiting they have set up a number tag system to know what number you are in line. You can sit across the street in the park while you wait. Perfect spot to wait for your turn for the in high-demand ice cream!
Good but not as good as in the past. The mocha tasted little of coffee and the chocolate chunks were tasteless. Banana was still very good.
The girls were so slow, 30min for an ice cream. Not too much flavors where we could pick, but also the taste was not amazing.
They were very slow, didnt really have any toppings, and only one size which is very small for the price. We didnt even like the icecream. The only good thing is the vegan icecream
Great variety but quite pricey.
The best ice cream in the area. Also the slowest service in any ice cream shop I have ever been. Its pointless to have an excellent product if you cannot serve your clients in a timely fashion. Please improve that.
Delicious ice cream! With special or one of a kind flavors!
Dark chocolate and banana cream was a great combination to try and it was really tasty.
Chocolate Earl Grey was SO rich and chocolately with a perfumey tea flavor.Bananas and cream tasted like the perfect, creamy banana. Everyone I interacted with was kind, quick, and helpful
Vegan ice cream was so good. Blood Orange plus Coconut = Creamsicle, so good!
Great ice cream! No wonder why eater.com voted the best icecream in NJ
The Bent Spoon, based on the name alone one would believe they would be known for soup but in all honesty, their best selling products seem to be their raw cookie doughs which are delicious without being overly sweet.--On my first visit I tried the Guinness Braised Beef Dip with a Side of Macaroni & Cheese Soup. The sandwich was delicious, you could actually taste the beef and cheese and the bread really tied it together because it was still soft on the inside but nice and crusty on the outside. Personally I did not enjoy the Mac & Cheese soup as much as I could have with a few tweaks, the soup itself is okay, I could make better and have made better the problem is that the way they serve it without a garnish of a sharper cheese or even mixing in more sharper cheese makes it taste a little bland but it was great for dipping my sandwich in. :) The price for the sandwich and soup was great $11ish for the both which compared to many places in Burlington is very reasonable, I will definitely come back to have lunch here again.I ended up trying their Peanut Cluster Raw Cookie Dough in a Waffle Cone, this tasted really good, I kept eating it and my brain was thinking it should be cold but it wasnt so I think next time I would prefer it as a sundae however it left me wanting to try the other flavors which is a good thing for business. Im not a huge fan of sweets due to working in a bakery and testing products a lot.One of the owners is a previous teacher of mine, he is partially responsible for why I got into cooking and changed my life in the process. Great guy.
Great ice cream! They also have strange flavors that I love to try. It is a bit on the more expensive side but every time I am in the area I have it so it is definitely worth it even during winter.
Great flavors. Creative and different but not over the top.
Best. Ice cream. Ever. The Bent Spoon undoubtably makes the best ice cream in the world. I think it says a lot that I still go there for ice cream in the middle of January. The ice cream is always fresh, super tasty, with very rich flavors! Their baked goods are delicious as well. Plus, they have great customer service.
So much yesBlueberry mascarpone charged my life
Good ice cream home made
Stopped by for dessert while walking around, and after following their protocols to meet with CDC guidelines, we ended up with delicious fresh made high quality ice cream. Highly recommend!
Amazing ice-cream flavors and quality. They also have a great queue management system for COVID.
In my personal opinion the ice cream here is just never bad its taste, & quality is high-quality and there’s always fun flavors! Highly recommend the avocado lemon.
Incredible flavors this has to be the best ice cream place I have ever been till hands-down highly recommend the hazelnut! Affordable pints also!
If you are a local you definitely know about this hotspot! I have never had such delicious in my entire life when I come here I get the hazelnut, and lavender microphone. And a hot chocolate is to die for!
Amazing ice cream and flavors, would 100% recommend to anyone.
Their ice cream and everything they sell is very very awesome I give a five because its delicious.
Love the ice cream hate the non covid friendly crowds that no one controls
This ice cream was PHENOMENAL. It’s a small place so during the summer there’s often a line out the door, but it’s worth the wait. They have various unique flavors that most other ice cream places in the area would not have. The blueberry mascarpone was so good! Highly recommend and i’m looking forward to visiting again in the future.
The best ice cream Ive ever had!
THE BEST ICE CREAM I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. This is not an exaggeration! The ice cream is homemade with local ingredients. The flavors change seasonally - A MUST GO IF IN PRINCETON!!!
Delicious!!! When you visit Princeton be sure to visit this wonderful place.
Some of the best, most delicious, and unique ice cream Ive ever had. Currently doing curbside/sidewalk orders and pick ups so makes for a special and safe treat these days.
Yummy, especially on such a hot August day!
In my opinion, one of, if not the best ice cream in NJ. The ingredients used here can be noticed in the taste and quality of the product. Highly recommended.
I didn’t need so much ice cream, but it was very good. The sweet cream vanilla was really great; dark chocolate orange had a nice bittersweet, raw cocoa flavor that I really liked (but might not appeal to everyone). Very efficient outdoor pandemic service too.
Great ice cream flavors. Always a popular spot!
Cicada ice cream back in 2038!!!Dark chocolate cardamom orange ...
The Best....Excellent gelato & vegan options
The attention to detail can be tasted in the flavors of the ice cream and gelato. Expertly crafted with fresh ingredients that shine. They have great flavor combinations in the individual flavors and even more so when combined. The peanut butter ice cream with the grape gelato shows how to perfect flavors on their own can combine into something even more amazing.
Great cupcakes than any in the surrounding areas whish the had them more often. The ice cream flavor are slamming too.
Fresh, fun, unique ingredients. 🍦
Creamy, flavorful ice cream.
Worth the drive to get the richest, deepest chocolate ice cream on the planet.
Best ice cream in town
This place has the best flavors and they have really adopted to Covid. You can order online and pick up. I love tasting all their seasonal creations.
This is some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. The flavors are so creative and interesting and everything tastes amazing.
The only place that has vegan ice cream worth eating!
I enjoyed the NJ Strawberry and the Basil ice cream. Wow! Amazing. The lemon cherry and the Ricotta were also wonderful. My son enjoyed the mint chocolate, so much that he didnt offer any for us to try. Delicious! We will be back soon.
This is and always will be one of the best places to get ice cream in NJ. The flavors are rich and diverse and its always a pleasure going and trying out whats new from the creative minds of the Bent Spoon.
The sweet corn ice cream was the best!
I only tried this place because someone wrote a review that they had the best Hot Chocolate on Planet Earth. So after ordering a classic hot chocolate with toasted honey marshmallows I 💯 agee its the best on planet🌎
