I know people tend to leave only negative reviews, so I’ll start with the positive. The produce and meat here is usually fresher than the bigbox store. When we did get some rotten 2 for 1 pork a few weeks ago, they were very apologetic about it to my husband and replaced it. So keep your receipt until you know. That had never happened to us before. We stop here for last minute items a lot. Sometimes we still have to leave and go to Walmart anyway because the prices of certain items are up to twice as much. We just can’t knowingly pay 2x more. As far as the meat/produce I feel like you get what you pay for. About half the time now, staff has been super rude. Most times they don’t even tell me what my total is, so I’ve stopped putting my card in the reader beforehand. It’s odd. I was looking at the lotto ticket machine the other day, noticed a ticket at the service desk, not in the machine, but at the service desk only; I asked the lady (manager) walking by “Can I get one of these tickets?” And she said “We only sale tickets from the machine.” She either ignored me, she had kept walking as she said it, or she didn’t hear me when I said “But these are the tickets not in the machine.” Okay. Fine. No big deal. But then I had to run back in for something we forgot, and there she was selling lotto tickets from the service desk to another person! Like wow! Also, they really do have the longest, slowest lines, most of the time.

Always have what I am looking for. Dont like the self checkouts though

Had all the items needed. Could be a bit better in fresh vegetables, specifically cucumbers. Some were quite soft.

Always happy with food and with personnel that work there. They are always very helpful when I cant find things.

Great place for quick pickups. Produce is better here than Walmart. Not cheap, but that is expected compared to Walmart. Convenient downtown location.

What a lovely store and great staff.

They have the best meat and the our family brand of food is good. They have some wonderful sales on meat and it pays to sign up for the YES card (which is free) for more savings. Every Wednesday is seniors day for 5% the total bill. Employees are friendly and helpful. I love to shop here!

Nice selection of groceries, but buyer beware. They have great meat deals, but have it seasoned so you cant see youre paying for mostly fat. Every time Ive visited store Ive endured long check out lines.

When I dont need a lot of groceries I usually go to family fare

Not recommended for african americans poor service stoop at service desk for 8 minutes and they still took there time I literally had to call the store to let them know I had been standing there for 7 minutes before I placed the call all around poor service Im 44 years old why would I have to be carded no one else was.

Frequently super long lines on the weekends to checkout. Not updated in a very long time. We usually only go here for last minute groceries before we get on the boat

It seems to be pretty clean, service was quick. The one thing I dont like is the smell of old oil in the air.

Easy shopping experience. Wide, one way isles. Speedy checkout. Only drawback is that the store is out of some products for over a week.

I don’t understand why certain people work there. Don’t get me wrong! Most of the staff are very kind, but you have your select few..”cough cough” kymm I believe her name is? Anytime I’ve been there she is always making snarky and rude comments to not only staff, but to customers. She needs to be fired.

I live close by so this is my go to store...a lil more expensive thn other places in town but its so much more convenient and friendly too.

The manager Brenda Wagner is super shady and records customers in the parking lot. She should be fired. Also check the expiration date on EVERYTHING, as Ive purchased even canned goods that were 2years expired! Yuck Brenda, what kind of place are you running?

Employees wear face shields below their nose and others no mask at all. Seem unaware or uneducated on social distance and mask guidelines.

Great home town type grocery store

Didnt have what I was looking for & prices are too high.

Theyve remodeled nicely. They now have a rewards program which offers great discounts. They still have great looking produce and meat. The store is very clean and stocked well. I leave them one star short because their all around prices are fairly higher than Walmart.. although I expect them to be a little higher, because theyre a smaller company, but the margins could be a little closer. Overall, its very nice and if you only need a few items, its more convenient.

This place was kind of confusing so I gave it three stars I was unable to locate the bathroom I did ask an employee which they said they didnt work there even though they had a name tag on that was kind of confusing baby Im guessing easy person to confuse I dont know but thats why you were three stars. I would like to say the place is clean their deals where okay although I did sign up for their Family Fare app or whatever it is that would load on my phone so I dont know what to say about that they need to fix it or some some s*** I dont know

No selection. Out of what i was looking for! And most items are overpriced... compared to hyvee or cub... guess I have to get my groceries out of town.. its a dam shame ...

I like the deli, though a bit high, not different from a Cubs in the city. I love the chicken pot pies. Difference is that Family Fare has a slight Whole Foods feel so a mix of aisle organics and Natural foods is refreshing, way better than Walmart for groceries if cost is an issue you can shop house brands

Small parking lot even the entrance is too small people cant come in and get out at the same time. Cashier was nice although I wont go back. Way to hard for a mom with kids in that tiny store.

Too expensive - they also dont pay their employees enough. Minimum wage - anti-union company.

Had Maya as cashier. Not friendly at all. No how are you, paper or plastic, did you find everything, no thank you. Guess I should have just stopped at the big box where at least they smile.

A number of poor customer service experiences have really turned me off to FF. Some staff more interested in visiting with each other by shouting across the checkout lanes as you wait for help at the customer service desk. Or staff answering a personal phone call as you wait for them to process a return? So why shop at this Family Fare when you can get better customer service, prices and food selection elsewhere???

A lot of there fruit and veggies either have an odd taste or no flavor, I bought garlic here once when I opened it had long roots and barely any garlic taste. Other then that great fried chicken!

Folks are pleasant, store is smaller so things are easier to find. I will shop here when I only need a few things and dont have it in me to go all the way up to the big store and trudge around there. Prices are too high for big shopping unless you go prepped with a list from the weekly ad page and coupons, then one could do very well doing weekly grocery shopping at Econofoods.

I like to stop here whenever I am in Red Wing. Great selection and comparable prices.

Good inventory even tho a little more expensive

Family Fare is a bottom tier grocery store. When they re-branded, they had a chance to remodel the store and update it to be competitive with todays grocery store standards. Sadly, this continues to operate as-is with a new name and a fresh coat of paint on the outside.

Nice local supermarket. Can walk from marina.

Old food and very expensive place

Everyone here is extremely kind. They have good quality food, a tasty deli, and the best thing about this place is their hot apple cider they have for customers at the door! They also have popcorn, tea, and coffee. Im sure the apple cider thing is because it happens to be fall but it made a huge impression on the gf and I. Their prices are good on sale items, but some normal priced items can be a bit spendy. Its what you would expect from a small grocery store. One downfall is they have a rewards program for sale items and sometimes the card doesnt work at checkout to reduce the prices like its supposed to. Overall however, my family loves this place.

Last minute shopping and the store had what I was looking for. In and out. Perfect!!

Its a grocery store, good deals and their rotisserie and fried chicken is always good.

Potato salad with dill in it and the chicken from the deli are favorites of ours. FRESH produce. Shop the sales for good savings. Employees are friendly and helpful.

Wear the mask correctly family fare employees, or dont wear them at all.

Unknowledgeable woman waiting on me. Very slow to. However she was very talkative and friendly. I was in a hurry and she was having none of it.... LOL....

The store has been remodeled since I was last in there. Guides for how to find items were attached right to the cart handles. Sale items were great! A bit higher priced then Walmart, but worth it not to deal with crowds and long lines.
