Always good service, no BS, and just an all-around good local business.I originally came in here buy a laptop, due to the original one actually catching on fire and burning up just before a business trip. I was frantic and had to get a new laptop up and running within a 2-hour window. These guys totally hit the mark. They helped me pick out the computer, whipped the software on it, determined the hard drive was still okay, and transferred my data over so I was ready to get out the door in less than an hour and on time to catch my plane. Whew!So, when a year later I had a laptop battery bite the dust - who do I turn to? You guessed It. [Side note: my friend cold around for the battery when he found out I was looking for 1 and pride Re-PC. Both locations. They didnt have a single one.] Computer Surplus traded out a few batteries to get one that worked with my machine and was charging well, then gave me a reasonable price on it. I was out of there in 20 minutes, including the time it took for him to help 3 other customers.Honest. Quick. No BS. Knowledgeable. Decent inventory. Good customer service. Local small business. This shop ticks all my boxes and I will return, for sure.

Always a good experience. Unless your computer is completely bricked these men work diligently to ensure your P.C. is functional. It may take a day or two, but you can trust that, Computer Surplus will send you home with both your computer fixed back up to where it should be and, also any data that you may have lost, recovered. I would trust this store with both any day. They brought my computer back from, what I thought was the dead. And it is working perfectly still! Would highly recommend.

Changing my review.Took my desktop in for a cleaning and to have a fan screwed back in and to have the face part reattached so all the USB ports and slots would be available.Havent used or inspected tell now...my own fault but still. Cant seem to take peoples word anymore.Unacceptable....BARELY LOOKS TOUCHED.....

These guys are awesome and Im not saying that lightly. Quick version:-- MacBook Pro keyboard replacement-- (Very) cost-effective (probably saved me a couple hundred bucks)-- Quick turnaround-- Incredibly great service (they had to do a part of the repair twice, and they wouldnt even let me pay for the additional time).TL;DR version:A few months ago I spilled water on my MacBook Pro and needed to replace the keyboard. When I called Apple to get an estimate, they told me to bring it in for an estimate as if they dont know how much replacing a 2015 MacBook Pro keyboard would cost (The customer service guy on the phone and I were actually chuckling about it because we both knew what that meant.) I took it to these guys. They fixed it at a really low cost (~$170). At first I thought it didnt include the parts. But they said no thats how much the whole thing will cost.Theyre also both really knowledgeable and nice. So if youre someone who enjoys having a conversation with fellow geeks with good social skills (😝), these are your guys!

Walking into the shop, you are assailed by a shop that is trying to fit as much as possible in a small space, but not doing it efficiently. Things are not organized linearly or clearly, with few signs, indicators, or prices. I donated a laptop, picked up a printer cable, and a keyboard, but had no idea prices or quality. Many items in the shop look dug up from random places, and if you examine the dust, dirt, and gunk on each item you could probably figure out where the item came from.I would say the shop owner and I only said 10 words to each other from start to finish, and as I walked out of the store, I looked at my keyboard and saw on the bank Value Village, $3.99 after paying $5. I get home and I had to fix a grimy, stuck key.All in all, Ive been to many similar shops and I think that other stores are friendlier, more organized, and have a quality standard and would recommend looking elsewhere.

Theyve always been great at diagnosing the problem and coming up with the least expensive solution to it, even if at times it meant returning the computer without fixing it, and not charging me a penny, not even after days of looking at the issue.

Just went here to recycle old computers and cords. No hassle at all to just drop stuff off.

I’ve been planning a hardware project and knew I’d find some parts here - But wow what a let down. The owner was very rude and yelled at me for knowing where to find parts in his horribly disorganized store. I also heard him verbally make fun of customers for asking about parts. Definitely do not shop here. Period. I really went out of my way to try support this local business but this guy was mean and unhelpful.

Wow. Where do I even start. Amazing people, fueled with passion. Very knowledgeable and helped me profusely with building my computer. Very welcoming and warm environment with a very cute dog there at all times. Extremely fun time learning more about computers and tech, with amazing deals. I came in to the store to learn more about building my gaming computer and since I knew him from a friend, he offered to help me in a way that I hadn’t expected. They were always at the shop and helped me whenever I came in with any part of it I asked for. I couldn’t imagine more welcoming services.Would recommend to anyone. Normally I don’t leave reviews and much less five star reviews, but my experience was very deserving of five stars. Amazing place run by great owners.

I go here when I just feel like buying some random hardware, or for specific needs. Slightly more than ebay prices, but convenience and surprising selection makes it worth a visit. Temper expectations, youll be hard pressed to find anything overly modern, but there are enough gems to make it worth a quick visit.

Great service! We had a hard disk crash, they saved the day and managed to restore all the information from the dead hard disk in a couple of days. We expected to pay much more for such a service and were surprised at how affordable it was. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of computer service.

Nice little shop, hidden off the busy street. Staff is very friendly and attentive, however the store is far past due for a deep cleaning. I would recommend them if youre needing repairs on a budget, but I would advise caution purchasing hardware.

Super small, kind of cramped and kind of amazing.Lots of random computer parts of new and old. I mostly go there for the old, but its still a great place if you need to get something for your computer right then and there. The prices are pretty standard. You might pay more for some older computer parts, but its faster and usually cheaper than eBay.

The Computer Surplus store personally is the best place EVER because I am always seeing old computer and stuff like that. One day they had a Windows 98 FE for sale I bought it but when they did a test run a lot of the inside parts were missing so we wrote our phone number down and they would call us when it was fixed. Just recently I bought a Win98 off EBay and it didnt come with a power cord so I went to the store to buy one. As I was walking through the sections of the store I noticed a Windows 98 with a sticky note on it saying reserved September 2013 I wonder if its mine probably not....... BUT JUST MAYBE

Needed to purchase an inexpensive desktop and I got a great deal on on a refurbished tower unit with Windows 10 and a 1TB HDD. The pricing was very competitive. The owner was also more than happy to open up the case so I could inspect inside. It was a clean machine and it powered up fast with no issues. This shop has been around for ages. There is adequate parking. The store is somewhat cluttered inside but that is due to the fact they carry lots of parts. Honestly, if you are looking for computer parts or want a good deal on a refurbished laptop or desktop, this is a good place to start your search.

Over the last few years, Ive always been treated very well here. Whether for business or pleasure, theyve always had whatever unique or standard parts/adapters/ or converters Ive needed and been very honest and strightforward about it. Unlike other computer repair shops Ive been to that give off the vibe that theyll rake you for however much money they can get, Ive always felt honestly and ethically treated here. Theyve given me their honest opinions even when its not in their own interests. Great guys. Thats what keeps me coming back time and time again.

An eccentric shop that is fun to visit every few months to balance out the big box store feels. for the non tech folks they do diagnostics and repair, and for the more tech savvy folks they are like an extension of the bin of misc cables, fans and etc that we all have somewhere.

I am 70 yrs and a computer retard, but I took my old and very slow laptop to Lee (at the suggestion of my son, who has an international business and has purchased several laptops from Lee) and I now have a refurbished super speedy laptop that Lee and Thomas patiently helped me understand how to use and enjoy. Being the victim of the XP fiasco I needed a new computer. Changed from a lap top to a desk top. The machine is great, the service is stupendous all thanks to Thomas and Lee. These guys were very patient with me and didnt tease me too much when I found out that desk tops need speakers in order to hear the volume. I recommend this business to anyone who needs help. I recently bought a used refurbished computer for two hundred dollars from computer surplus. Not only what the price steep for an older computer without the basic programs, but when I get it home I quickly discovered that they had never bothered to replace the dead battery and it would not hold a charge for longer than ten minutes. A trip to computer surplus for a computer is a waste of time and money.

Ive recentlybrought in a laptop that they had repaired for me a year prior ( hard drive and battery was replaced )which in the end was a fabulous deal, plus they replaced the battery for free...I was extremely pleased with the work! In any case ....last week my laptop crashed again, so I brought it back in. And to my surprise, after entering my info. in their system, he realized that it had been repaired the year previously and told me there would be no charge. THAT IS SO IMPRESSIVE.....to find businesses these days that have any sort of integrity and actually stand by their work and products is very hard to come. Personally ...THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES TO THEIR CHARACTER AND BUSINESS PRACTICES ! Excessive recycling fees, and no prices on most of the merchandise. The guy I talked to wanted to haggle, and mocked me for refusing. They also wont take returns, so Im out $40 for a blown power supply. Lesson learned.

I want this to be a very unbiased review, but thats hard, actually having been there. They can be very very overpriced if you dont know exactly what you are looking for. For instance, they try to sell Pentium 4 laptops for 300 dollars. (P4 laptops are not worth 50 bucks now days). They dont have much newer technology, and they wont sell the really really old stuff they have. The store is very disorganized. If you know little to nothing about computers, you might be easily tricked into believing that this is a cool or awesome store or that they have lost of good stuff. They are very obtuse and the saying the customer is always right doesnt exist here. They will argue with you and make you want to never come back. They always seem busy and very unwilling to help you with questions or locating products (I.E. CPUs, GPUs, MOBOs.). Basically, their customer service is nonexistent. However, that being said, this is the ONLY store like this in the Redmond area. Because of that and for some other unknown reason, I still stop by every now and again. Its worth a drop by, but be very careful and do your price research before hand. Otherwise you will spend six times the cost of the normal price. Also there was another guy who worked there that is almost never there anymore. He was nice to work with. I should also say that this review is derived from about 10 years of going to this store.

Ok so my laptop stopped charging. Nothing else was giving me problems. I was sure it was either just the charger or the port. I went to Computer Stop in bellevue last saturday which was bought out by hard drives northwest. I trusted them because years ago they were who I did all my business with. They did a disgnostics today (monday), They said the charger and the port were just fine, and that my issue was a bad motherboard. They could not give me an exact estimate other then it would cost anywhere from 165.00 to 400.00 for the repairs. I am a single parent mom, I do not have 400.00 to spend like that. So I told them to give me back my computer so I could get a second opinion. They wanted to charge me 50.00 for their diagnostics. They did not tell me anything about there being a diagnostics fee! I started crying and they let me go free of charge. On my way home I stopped at Computer Surplus. Guess what guys? My charger was bad! These guys saved me 400.00!!! They are honest. They only charged me 35.00 for a brand new charger which is half the price of places like batteries plus. As long as its the same techs I will only do my business with computer surplus! These guys are the best! Thank you so much. I left with tears of joy. Its hard to find an honest business these days!
