First I have to say I love this store and visit it frequently, however, I purchased Whole Foods Mushroom and Barley soup from the prepared foods section. The soup was delicious and I was enjoying it until I chomped down on a piece of wood that was in the soup. Luckily I didnt break a tooth on it. I have no idea how a piece of wood finds its way into a container of soup and will be very leery of buying any prepared foods there.

Good organic foods. Produce is fresh. I love the expanded salad section with lots of bottled dressings to choose from. The bakery has unique fresh baked breads like sprouted spelt four, olive, rosemary sourdough, multi grain, qhole wheat, etc. Bring your own bags as they give you a 5 cent credit for each one used!

This review is for a red velvet cake ordered a week prior to pick up for a birthday. Ive ordered many whole cakes from Whole Foods before and I thought that quality control would be consistent across the many locations. Sadly this was not the case. This cake was horrible. It was dry and stale as if it were baked soon after we ordered it and just sat on a shelf until we picked it up days later. The frosting was way too sweet and tasted nothing like the cream cheese icing traditionally on red velvet cake. Lastly, when cut, the cake looked nothing like red velvet cake. It was brown like chocolate. I could have looked past the color of the cake if it at least tasted good, but this was just a bad, bad cake. So disappointed in the quality and embarrassed for having served this to guests!

I went in in yesterday for a cake and the people in the bakery weren’t helpful at all. The description of the cake i bought was completely different i asked for not to much frosting (i ordered the lemon raspberry cake). Goodness it was packed with frosting i think we cut like 3-4 slices and the rest just had to be thrown out. Very dissatisfied with the bakery. I went there cause supposedly its a bit more healthier than other grocery stores. Thats why i’m giving it a 1 star cause it wasn’t worth the money or the trip.

Very disappointing day for me. Today my wife asked for a cake and I went to buy a cake and got one large mango mouse cake. The taste of the mango cream is very horrible. It’s very sour and trashed it. When the whole foods is make any cake they should check the cake flavour is good nor bad before making these large expensive cakes.I strongly decided not to buy cakes from this store. Very disappointing day for my complete family. Please please check for the taste of these kind of items before buying. I hope my review helps to the cake lovers who plan to buy cakes from this store…

Masks required? Sure. I came here Tuesday 3/23/21 a little before 3:30p. The lady pictured walked in. A employee at the door told the lady a mask is needed. The lady responds “I don’t have one, can you just take my temperature”. The employee agrees and heads over to customer service to get the thermometer. After taking her temperature, the lady is allowed in the store. Once the lady is in the store, she is of course getting a lot of stares. She is also coughing and sneezing. I quickly head out the store, but before I leave I ask the lady who let her in the store about the mask policy. The employee states that if a customer doesn’t have a mask, they can take their temperature instead and they will be allowed to enter the store without a mask. I was extremely shocked by that information because masks are still required at stores from what I’ve seen. Even this particular store states masks are required. I work in healthcare and the company I work for had eliminated temperature checks at their facilities because a high temperature isn’t a relevant factor for COVID according to studies. This is extremely unacceptable and this employee should be briefed again about proper protocol. I know wearing a mask can be a pain sometimes, but a pandemic is still going on. This lady walked in with a sense of privilege and with a sense of being above wearing a mask and following protocols to keep everyone safe. She should have been immediately removed from the store. I will say that the employee offered her a mask and the woman declined and wanted a temperature check instead. This is highly disappointing and I will not be shopping here again.

This whole foods is much smaller than others in the area I have been too. Their selection is decent but is comparatively lacking. I often have to go to a second grocery store to find all the products I need. But I think my biggest complaint is the lines, every-time I go to this location, there are massive checkout lines. I have waited over 20 minutes to checkout before, even when only buying a few items. I ultimately stopped coming to this location because of the checkout lines.

I shop everyday on the hot and cold bars of the Reston (lunch) and Alexandria Old Town (dinner) locations. Reston does not compare in terms of selection or consistency unfortunately. When products run out, the staff does not seem to want to replenish them (ie salmon), and todays grilled chx strips were spoiled. I know they can do better and they havent lost my business in Reston, yet.

Food here is pricey, but worth it for the quality. You will not have to search through a bunch of bad fruits and vegetables to pick out the good ones as most of them will be fresh and ripe. There are also more international options here than at alternative American grocery stores. For example, I couldnt find naan at the nearby Harris Teeter and found it here. Paper bags are high quality and I reuse them to store my recyclables.

Everyone already knows what they have their and their great service. This is about the online pick up and isnt reserved for just this particular Whole foods is the system in general. Its a bad system. Every other system has something in place where you can tell whomever is bringing your items what kind of car youre in and your car color and EXACTLY when youre at the store. Parking is ample though it may be hard to find parking during busy times. There is the office parking building behind the store that is easy to get to also. The store has a smaller footprint similar to older stores but has almost everything a regular shopper may be looking for. The sitting area is quite colder than the store, maybe the manager wants people to not sit and eat in the store.I travel to this area frequently for work and this used to be my favorite store before heading to the airports. I visited this location on Sunday mid-afternoon to get a few items for Wolf Trap that evening. I think that being bought by Amazon has led to some changes and not good ones. When I walked in the front vestibule, the heat was blasting from overhead and it was 85 degrees outside. There were numerous spots throughout the store where you could feel heat from overhead. I also got a strong seafood smell when walking past the seafood counter. This has NEVER happened before at this location. Being able to smell the seafood is not a good sign. The recipe for the curried chicken salad has changed. All of the items in the deli case looked like they had been there a while because the top of every item was very dried out. Every now and then the items in the deli case need to be stirred to keep them looking fresh. I will reconsider future shopping opportunities at this store.

Notable thing was I went through the order with her and wrote my name on both the order sheets. When she gave me the wrong pizza I corrected her then she started making my second pizza. So I had to get wait another 40 minutes. So basically they screwed my evening plan with my kids. $1.00 Cup of coffee lost you my business. I have never experienced such poor customer service within a whole foods establishment. I arrived around noon to pick up my daily lunch and coffee. After making my purchase, the coffee was not available. They said it would be out shortly. at 12:28 I asked if the coffee would be ready. 12:34 the customer service rep who was at the desk said it would be 3-4 more min, BUT she can take my cup to the back and fill it up. The expectation that Whole Foods has set in the past was that I can do this myself, OR I can watch someone make my food and beverages. I will never return to this Whole Foods. I will start to purchase my coffee from Starbucks across the street.
