Staff has been incredibly reliable and honest, I would not trust my vehicles to anyone else. They take the time to make sure you understand what work is being done, the cost and what can wait if needed. They make every part of the interaction easy from dropping off your car to pick up and payment.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE COULD NOT GIVE A STRAIGHT ANSWER ON THE PRICE JUST TO GET 4 BRAKES CHANGED ON MY VEHICLE. DIDNT GET HER NAME BUT WAS YELLED AT AND HUNG ON BY THE LADY THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE. Why would i come spend a penny there if youre that disrespectful on the phone.

I dont often write reviews. However, my experience with Broad Street Auto & Tire Inc. warranted one. I set an 8am appointment online, two evenings ahead of time, for a state inspection. The next morning, I received a confirmation for the appointment. That morning, I arrived just prior to 8am. At 8am, I walked in the door and was kindly greeted with my name and verification that I was there for an inspection. I handed them my keys and stepped outside. At this point, there were several other customers there, all being quickly. 30 minutes later, my vehicle was brought around. The mechanic I spoke with was also very personable and shared things I should consider taking care of in the next 6 months. I paid for the inspection and left. No fuss, no BS, no games. It was terrific and I will be going back for automotive services in the future.

I have been going here for years, but have never thought to write a review. Hands down the best mechanic i have ever had the pleasure of working with. Never try to oversell you and always responsive and give you a heads up to needed repairs. This past Friday I was driving to Williamsburg and my cars engine completely died on 64 near Williamsburg. I called Broad Street and they had no problem letting AAA bring the car to the shop and let it sit there over the weekend, and promptly repaired the car on Monday without an appointment. It was not a cheap repair, but it was needed and I am confident I got the best price possible.They even found a dangerous issue with the tires (I ran over something that had destroyed one of them but had not deflated it) and fixed it.If you need a mechanic, go here.

I normally never write reviews, but I feel I must share this experience to warn others.All the work on my and my familys cars I do myself, except for alignments and state inspections which I cannot do. A few months back I was looking for a shop, and tried Broad Street Tire and Auto for an alignment. They did a great job and I had a good experience.A few months later, my mothers car needed inspection and tires. I sent her to Broad Street Tire and Auto and expected to hear a call telling me Sir, you need tires to pass an inspection. and I was going to buy a set of very expensive tires. Instead, they call me and tell me about the headlight needing replacement(due to tiny, non-safety effecting damage). I took the car home, replaced the headlight, returned it to them and got my inspection sticker.When I saw that my mother had picked up the car I realized they did not shut the hood properly! It was closed but not latched, which can cause it to fly up and destroy the windshield on the freeway(very dangerous).So, I trusted Broad Street Tire And Auto with my familys safety, and they failed in two ways.1) They failed to report dangerously warn and damaged tires, which should be included in a state inspection.2) They left my mothers car in a unsafe to drive condition and handed over the keys.Either of these things could cause a horrible accident.Broad Street Tire and Auto seems nice, but do not trust them with your safety.See pictures and tell me if you think those tires are safe.Edit - My Response to the owners response:1)Those are the tires that your mechanics say passed. They are under 2/32 inch and have impact damage. Any tire with impact damage or under 2/32 tread does not pass.2)Somebody popped the hood after I returned the car to your shop. I did not bring it to you with the hood popped.3) I didnt contact your shop because there is nothing you can do for me. I need a shop I can TRUST with my and my familys vehicles and your shop is not that. You endangered my familys life and you cant undo that.You are entrusted with peoples safety and maybe next time youll consider that when an unsafe vehicle comes into your shop.You can say We follow the guidelines set forth for safety inspections., but you didnt because any competent mechanic would condemn those tires immediately upon examination.

Amazing! Tok the time to find out what was wrong with my daughters car. Didnt over charge or try to scan! I would highly recommend them. The lady who answered the phones and looked up on information was outstanding! I felt she was taking care of my daughter because I couldnt be there. This was my first time at this shop and I was fully prepared to wait a bit for my state inspection as I typically do at the other shops I’ve been to but I was in and out in 30min! I wish I caught her name but the woman at the front desk was very friendly! Will definitely be returning.

I called and they gave me an accurate estimate of when they would be able to take my car, they were friendly and open and the technician walked me back to my car to show me something and we got to chatting about different things, he was friendly and helpful. The repair took 30 minutes, I was in and out. The shop is clean, organized and has a nice atmosphere. This was my first time going, but Ill be going back again

Fast service (needed my inspection done). In and out within 1/2 hour. Quickly answered my email to get me in for an expired inspection date. Definitely will go back again.

Ive exclusively used Broad St Tire & Auto for all my familys vehicle needs for the past 5 years or so. Alice and her team are awesome, theyre a pleasure to deal with and very honest and upfront. Ive never once felt like theyve tried to do unnecessary work on my vehicles, theyre very upfront about their recommendations and reasonably priced with all their work. I cannot recommend them enough, theyre the best shop in town.

THESE GUYS ROCK. I called every mechanic in the area telling them I needed to replace my timing belt and was given reasonable offers. These guys went a step beyond and said “Hold On, let’s make sure that’s actually what’s wrong.”I got there at the same time as two older people and they were done and on their way in the time it took to make two cups of coffee!Then I turned out I just needed more oil 🤦‍♂️These guys will routinely put in the extra effort to make sure you’re getting the best quality service in a timely fashion while also having your back as to what’s truly needed.

The check engine light came on and I did a Google search for mechanics in the area. I called Broad Street and spoke with Alice and got the next available appointment. I brought the car in and was greeted with sincere customer service.I was given an assessment of the problem and what was required to find it. I was then given what I felt was a very fair price for the repairs. While waiting I have an e excellent conversation with Alice and another customer and her kids. Could not be happier with service provided by Broad Street Auto. I had purchased parts for my car that I had intended to install myself but had second thoughts about it as time and weather constraints changed my mind. Called Broad Street Auto, on a referral from a friend, and was quoted a reasonable price to install my parts (many shops will not install customer parts). Called for an appointment and left car over night. Job was completed in a timely manner and to my complete satisfaction. Will surely do business here again.

This shop is great. Theyre honest, affordable, and only do what is needed for your car. On one occasion they actually charged us $30 less than quoted because the work didnt take as long as expected. Were glad to have found a local mechanic shop that doesnt recommend additional work every time you take your car in for anything.

Bump bump bump went my front tire. Alice and the crew noticed irregular wear likely from my inattentiveness to rotate regularly. 2 new tires installed easily and with their always friendly service. Plus alignment. Get your oil changes and service there too and they will rotate tires whether needed. Always been happy with service and will continue to be a customer. Highly recommended.

This is the only place Ill take my car. They are completely transparent and honest with their work. It is the most stress free/relieving experience taking my car into Broad Street Atuo. Theyve worked on 2 of my cars for the last 7 years and countless times Ive received calls where they not only save me money by suggesting more logical/alternative services than what Ive expected I needed and therefore requested, but often times educating me on whats really wrong w/ the car or why I dont need what I thought I did. I went to get a routine oil change and a state inspection and got completely ripped off. I got charged $88.04 total for both jobs done. The receptionist came out so nonchalant telling me that they had to replace a bulb for the state inspection like it was no big deal. I got charged $4.00 for the bulb and $27.41 in labour to replace a simple bulb. I wasnt even made aware that it would cost such a ridiculous amount of money to change a simple light bulb. They would not back down either on the price either after I contested. Evidently they charge almost $100 an hour for labour at this place so if you intend to get any kind of extensive work done there youre going to be digging deep into your pockets to pay for the labour. Absolutely ridiculous! I have never in my life paid so much for a routine oil change and state inspection. I will be telling everyone I know to *NEVER* take their business to Broad Street Auto & Tire Inc.. Unbelievable... Not to mention, if you make an appointment and have to wait for your car they dont have a waiting area thats inside, so you have to sit outside with all the feral cats running amok until they finish overcharging you for every piece of work done to your vehicle. Best of luck to all of you going there on a cold day and have to wait.

Really great customer service. They also followed through. A few other places said I had a difficult issue to fix with my Toyota Corolla. I thought they were crazy when they took it in here and said NO PROBLEM. Then it was done within a few hours no issues. Ill be back! Thank you Alice and team.

My family has been going to this place for three generations now. They are always honest dependable and reliable and they stand behind their work. Alice and the mechanics are so friendly and efficient. They call you and give you the honest scoop on whats wrong with your vehicle and whats it going to take to fix it. In the summer of 2015 I brought my car here for a state inspection. It failed the inspection because my high beam indicator wasnt coming on and they told me it was due to my daytime running light circuit board not working and it was going to cost somewhere around $400 to fix and pass inspection. My car doesnt even have daytime running lights installed.Edit: The high beam lights themselves were functioning, the INDICATOR was not working. They said the indicator wasn’t working because my daytime running light board was broken when there isn’t a daytime running light board to begin with.

Alice and her team always deliver, keeping our 10+ year old vehicles (one hybrid and one import) humming and performing optimally and safely on the road. I cant recommend them enough!!!

Everyone was telling me no, but then I called into Broad Street and the woman on the phone was so kind and said theyd do what they could. For over 16 years I have had positive experience with maintenance and repair of my personal vehicles at Broad Street Auto. The work is excellent and completed in timely manner. The price is very reasonable. Location is convenient for me to walk to and pick up my vehicle. They have a very good reservation system.

Finally, a place that doesnt try to get over on you. They talk to my wife like she knows nothing about cars, (which she doesnt), and talks to me like I know a thing or two, (which I do). Hands down the best garage in RVA. So glad to have found this little gem. But dont come here, I am keeping it for myself!!!

This place is amazing! Always so helpful, courteous, and prompt! Last year I had taken my car in to a chain place (had a coupon for an oil change) and just had them do my inspection as well, when I was told I would have to spend over $2000 in repairs to pass it. My car is not even worth that much, so I was not about to drop that for repairs I did not even know where an issue as my car was running fine at the time. Took it back over to Broad Street Auto and they showed me different things on my car that the first place said were broken or needed to be repaired....nearly all of these repairs were related to parts that were completely fine. Not only did Broad Street take the time to actually show me these things, but they were able to make the actual necessary fixes for around 10% of the quote from the other place and they offered me their courtesy car for the day since it was starting to rain so I didnt have to walk down the road to work.Honestly I will never take my car anywhere else while here in Richmond.

Can not tell you how many times Broad Street Auto has come to my rescue. Ive been a customer since 1974 and although Ive received bad news a few times, they have always helped me through it. Once I wandered to another shop for a minor job (tune up) and when they finished with me, it was up to Broad Street to get me rolling again. Ive been bringing my car here for the last few months and I absolutely love this shop. The owner is very involved in the day to day, but she always remembers me when I come in. Last month, I had an engine fail on me, and instead of trying to con me into making costly repairs, the shop laid out all the options and let me choose the best one for me. I had to bring my other car in recently because of a battery issue (and I really needed to rotate my tires), it was cold and their waiting room is being touched up, but they were totally nice about it and even offered to take me up to the local coffee shop or mcdonalds of I wanted. A++ would totally recommend to friends and family.
