Nice store. The layout is good and they had a great kids section for all ages. There is a Starbucks inside for those that want to sip and read. The front section has a lot of magazines and the usual novelties of random stuff. I knocked off 1 star for the bathroom. It is dated and looks dingy plus some lights were out. If I did t hit the bathroom it would be a perfect 5 stars. Overall a great place for books.
Just a standard Barnes& Nobles. Personnel were helpful. Parking was fairly easy.
My favorite Barnes & Noble in Richmond! Always has a lovely atmosphere with nice staff. Never had any issues and have been coming here for 10+ years.
Spectacular. Great service, food, views !! 4th time in 2 months.
Found what I needed, mainly in the business section. Great staff- all are passionate about what they do and very attentive. Lots of great deals at non-member prices, as well. Will come again.
Always a great store to go through. My granddaughter n i spent at least 2 hours in the store trying to figure out which books to buy.
They requested I wear a mask inside and I had forgotten mine. They provided me with one. I found what I was looking for and stumbled across a book by a favorite author. Glad I dropped by. Lots of convenient parking. And not very busy this morning at all.
Very organized with lovely staff, just wish the sections were restocked more frequently!
I had a awful experience at this location a couple of weeks ago. My daughter was falsely accused of opening a toy by a manager there by the name of Leslie. My sister and I are frequent shoppers at this location and I think it was rude and very unprofessional to get in a child’s face and accuse her something that she did not do. My daughter was very hurt. I told Leslie over and over that she was wrong and my daughter was simply in the children’s section on my cell phone watching YouTube. When’s she’s on a phone she’s not even phased by the toys. Leslie excuse was “it’s a lot of work to clean up at night”. I wonder did she even attempt to ask the other parents or falsely accuse their children that was also in the store that evening. She apologized and she added “but” and went in again about how hard is to do her job. When you add “but” to a apology it no longer becomes a apology. Leslie probably needs a different job.
Nice store. Friendly staff. Clean. Well stocked. I was looking for a particular author and was surprised to find him right where he was supposed to be. Excellent!
It was pleasant and quiet. I enjoyed the experience.
As always books are abundant but I was visiting for funko and if youre anything like me you go looking for exclusive pops. Unfortunately it seems they are zoning out funko? Im not sure but having a three to four month old inventory still on clearance and not kept well so 🤷🏼♀️ you win some you lose some.
Awesome store and a great selection. Very clean and excellent customer service.

The store is clean and very well organized. The books were displayed in an attractive manner. The gentleman at the Starbucks Cafe was very polite.
Barnes and Noble is a great place for a quiet read or to just give you a change of pace for the day. I go there to help my reenergize my creative juices. Why 3 stars though? Well I would not recommend buying any books from Barnes and Noble unless it is there clearance area. Their books are not priced competitively and the range of books is limited (if you ask me).I am all about computer science and biology. Those two subjects really lack here. I understand Barnes and Noble are not known for there scholar level books but it left a lot to be desired. Also as stated, the pricing is not friendly to your pockets. EVERY book I came across, I could find of amazon for $10-$20 less.So all in all, it is a great setting for those who want to go to a quiet place but do not want to go to a traditional library.
Smells good.the toilet paper is fresh
Convenient location at Libbie Place shopping center facing W. Broad St. Includes area for music and DVDs in the back of the store, magazine area & a café to the right of the entrance, and wifi. Drawbacks: Part of the book space devoted to childrens toys. No outlets in café area to plug in your charging cord for laptops/cell phones. Bathrooms get lots of traffic. Cigarette smoke near entrance (outdoor bench used for cig breaks).
Love to read? This is the place for you!
I needed help with a book that I couldnt find. The associate was very helpful and courteous. I believe she was sincerely glad to help. Rare these days.
Not much to tell. Great location in RVA, plenty of parking 🚙 and friendly staff 🙂. They had the book I needed 📖, but I found it much cheaper on Ebay. Guess I should have looked there first. 🤷♀️
The staff went out of their way to help me find a book. Very nice staff!
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Check out was quick and easy and the entire bookstore was clean and very full of merchandise. Thank you!
I love brick and mortar book stores and I hope they stay around for a long time...thos one is well organized and designed to keep you involved in the titles and subjects of books. So why only three stars?I went in the store to look around, as I hadnt been here in years. It was 4 minutes after opening on a Thursday morning.I went to the restroom before going thru the store and the mens room was a disaster from the night before. Both toilets not having been flushed, toilet paper rolls not in the mechanism designed to hold them, paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor in both stalls. All trash cans over flowing with paper towel waste.Over all a bad impression as clearly zero employees have even peeked in there for a day or two.If they are using a specific out sourced cleaning service, clearly they have not been showing up for a while.During Covid times, this was also a bit more concerning and over all unhygienic.I hope the stores continue to do well and stay open as a place to look at and purchase books, journals, etc in person and face to face.
Really exellent customer service. Manager really helped me out with returning a christmas gift I recieved. Cashier was also very friendly and quick.
I am not one to complain but when I asked the lady politely to help me find a book she rudely commented that the store was closing in 10 min and rolled her eyes. I apologized and said that I was sorry and that I wanted to find somebody to help so I wasn’t holding anybody up. She continued to ignore me as I apologized and asked what the book name was. I told her that I could find somebody else to help if I was holding her up from her job. She repeated in a rude manner what the book name was so she could find it in the system but couldn’t find it. When I realized I messed up the name of the book I told her and she said well that makes a big difference, the computer can’t read your mind and know what you want. I apologized again and asked how her day was going and she ignored me as she looked up and started walking away. She led us to the book and told us to hurry and get out of the store. I will probably not be returning to this Barnes and Nobel since the employees seem that they don’t want to make any profit until the end of their shift.
Always a wonderful place to lose yourself for just a little while. Everyone is super aware of distance and face masks.
Not busy plenty of space between customers and a decent selection of clearance
This is a very nice Barnes & Noble location. They generally have enough staff that I can find someone at the information desk whenever I need help, or just grab someone walking around. The lines are not too long even during the holiday season. It looks like they update the sale section upfront pretty often, which I like. Its a good place to pick up a new journal or a hardcover book after the paperback comes out.Ive only had to order a book here once, but I will say that the person at the information desk spent over ten minutes tracking it down for me. I very much appreciate that. The Starbucks which is in this location does have a more limited drink menu than stand-alone Starbucks, but thats true for all of the in-store cafes. What they do have is an expanded food menu so you can very easily get a book and then sit down to read it over lunch.Relevant note! Being in the Barracks Road Shopping Center, well-behaved dogs on a leash are allowed into this bookstore. Ive never seen a bad dog in there, just a few small dogs who are well-managed by their humans. Because of this, I am guessing that if a dog is poorly behaved the staff asks them to leave. However they manage it, if youre having a walk with your mannerly pup you can stop in for a book, no worries.
Good sales post holiday. Good magazine collection. Nice staff.
Great customer service! Found the book i was looking for..Its called The Last Garden in England by Julia Kelly. Its a novel
Love the selection but really cant compete with online pricing. Even its own.
Nice clean bookstore, helpful staff & convenient location.
This Barnes and Nobles was well laid out. There was good customer service available.
They sell books. Books are great.
Quiet evening at the bookstore. Picked up 4 books, checked out quickly and with good customer service.
My favorite place to go for the latest in best-selling books and audio books.
My order was filled quickly and curbside pickup is what one would expect.
I always had a good experience when I come to this Barnes & Noble
The associates were very helpful.
Loving the new layout for social distancing. I usually find what I want here or just come here to relax. Great employees and great customer service.
Lotta books around this place A+
👍
Lots of books to choose from and plenty of space to sit.
A great place to find books and movies. Often I have found a rare treasure and I always have fun. A lot of customers dont appreciate enough what they have in this store. The staff is clearly a family of friends that gets along great and does a great job.
3 stars due to the fact that I was followed throughout the store like I was gonna rob them or steal something. The entire 45 minutes I was there a employee followed my every step. I ended up putting all my items up except for the main item I came for. I will never shop there again.
Love the new inviting layout.
Great atmosphere to browse, read and have a coffee.
Too crowed with other junk. No place to view large books. Lack of knowledge about books.
I experienced very hateful and jealous customers while I was reading in the cafe...?
Very friendly staff, always willing to help you find something youre looking for.
Very helpful and attentive staff! The selection was quite limited though: could only find one of the three things I was looking for, none of which were remotely obscure. Will keep coming back though when I can!
Sadly, this bookstore used to be warm and inviting. I do not know if its because of smaller staff or lack of training. Most staff are curt and dismissive. However the CHILDRENS section manager is superb. She is bubbly, vivacious and well informed. My grandchildren love her.
I love a good bookstore. The Libbie Place Barnes & Noble has tons of books, journals, music, board games, and even a coffee/cafe area. It is an inviting space to browse for books and filled with eye-catching colorful covers. Plentiful parking, close to other stores and restaurants.
It was nice to had everything I was looking for
Books are overpriced, music selection is embarrassing, workers clearly just wanted to go home.
I love a real bookstore. This is a favorite place to take the grandchildren. The customer service is wonderful. The assistant walks shoppers to the place where the book is shelved. I enjoy the in-house Starbucks.
Nice location and nice helpful employees.
Slowest check out I have ever experienced at a Barnes & Noble location
Great for a browse. Not busy, no long lines, no packed parking lot. It felt libraryish.
Store and Starbucks open but sadly few customers. Good selection.
Great service and got what i needed
It was very spacious for carrying so many selections of books. You didnt get that crammed in feeling. The associates were very nice considering I arrived with 5 minutes to spare before closing. They helped me find the book my daughter was looking for and still maintained a friendly demeanor considering the time.
Barnes and Noble is fantastic. If you need to order a book online he sure to pick up in store and save on shipping cost. And happy reading!
Always helpful staff!
Good store...lots of books here in stock that at other locations have to be ordered online...
I did not remember how much I miss been in a book, great customer service
Limited learning books for my upcoming 4th grader, but still a great store.
Staff is always very friendly and helpful! The collector in me loves it for their large selection of Funko Pops and they always have a good selection of exclusives and commons alike. The Starbucks inside is also really good.
I am glad I am not the only one who actually still enjoys holding a real book in my hands. I purchased a set of the wings of fire series for my daughter, so be summertime workbooks for the kids to sharpened their skills over the summer, a crazy dot to dot book and some stuff from the bargain priced area. I hope they are able to stick around for a long time to come.
Still like to go in and browse every so often. I like being able to pick up and see the books instead of little thumbnails on my phone or computer.
It was busy, which is to be expected on Christmas Eve. Staff was friendly and helpful. I was looking for any combination of 7 books, they had one!! :( This was not a successful visit.
Always great to walk around this store. Great customer service. Nice layout. Convenient location. A well run place to browse, eat and buy.
I specifically came to use the cafe in order to get some work done. The environment was pleasant, as it allowed me to be very productive. My food from the cafe was fresh and appetizing. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a place to meet with a friend/colleague or just an inviting place to work alone.
Great store. Very helpful staff
Good customer service and the Starbucks place was dope
This is my happy place. So glad they are open once again.
Not as good as used to be and you must be careful when they send out coupons, Theyre not good on a lot of things. Its a better selection than a lot of book stores, but most of the books of interests are in there marketplace. Dont bother coming here for collectible and/or antique books, their selection is zilch.
I read at least two books a week. In the summer closer to four a week. Barnes and Noble are always my go to place for books. The people are always and helpful. I usually know what books that I am looking for, but if I need they are always ready to help.
Love all bookstores!
Best book store in Richmond. Super helpful staff. Always quiet and has an excellent cafe.
Typical Barnes & Noble very clean, staffed and theyre willing to help. Read a book, lean something!
This Barnes & Noble is a very nice well put together store. You can browse through the store looking for any and every type of book, calendar, notepads, bags, magazines Etc. There is also a little Starbuck Barista in there you can sit down and have brunch or any type of coffee, tea all kinds of delicious pastries at your convenience just sit down and watch the people go by outside relax, have a good time.
Brick and mortar stores are a dying breed. Its still a pleasure to browse the well stocked aisles at Barnes & Noble. I will shop here until they disappear (but maybe they will hang on!)
Knowledge staff. Like to browse but also like that I can also order online and either pickup in the store or curbside.
As an adult....a hard working adult female, I felt very uncomfortable to be followed but not one sales associate speak or ask to help me. An associate only said something to me when I met up with my niece whom I dropped off earlier. She had previously talked to that female associate about a book and then felt compelled to speak to me then. But before on my own, she would only follow me. I didnt have a bookbag or gave off any suspicious activity of stealing....in which I had NO need or desire to do. I dont want to go to that location again.
I always loved Barnes and Noble, but some locations can be better than others. This one is particularly good. I like the fact that is just one story rather than taking stairs to circumvent the entire place. The indoor Starbucks is good, but I am not a big fan of the tables setting. They are all round, small and with minimal connections for a laptop or other devices. As a matter of fact, there are only 3 tables that have an outlet and, as expected, they are always taken. Other than that, I actually love this place, I tend to meet with students on the weekends and I never felt like the background noise or other distractions were an issue.
Huge selection of books. Nice sale items. Friendly and helpful employees. Its very quiet in there sort of like a library.
Oh my gosh, where to begin? LOVE this store where u can get a book, calendars, games, SO MANY things to see, you could stay in there all day. Very friendly & helpful staff.
I can spend hours browsing or reading and the customer service is on point. ✔️
I love this store! Been coming here since they first opened (20+ yrs). Great selection. Cafe. Study space. Great place to get lost for an hour or two!
A refreshing reminder of times before the online books/audio books. Clean and Friendly, the employees are a lot of help. This location is my fav. Ive been to so far.
One of my favorite places to go
My daughter was looking for gift items and the staff that helped her was amazing! She was very helpful and patient and had a pleasant personality. I would definitely visit this bookstore again!
Everything about these Barnes are Noble.
