What a lovely store. Well curated with good sections and recommendations. Staff was wonderful, warm, and knowledgeable. Seems to have a good option for book clubs as well. Was in the area and glad to have stumbled into the store and come out with a book.

They have good variety and the sections are easy to identify. The staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable. You can tell they read so they are able to reccomend books. SUPER CUTE little book store with funny little gifts! I loved it. Lots of interesting little things to look at. Also, the employees were so nice. Also reasonably priced, these socks were only $11and Ive seen them go for $20 at other places.

I have never been to the store location, but I have bought from their website a few times. When I needed help with something, I emailed them and they got back to me within an hour. Great customer service and I would recommend to anyone who loves books!

It was a cute little store, but I felt they were lacking in selection, some things were wildly expensive, and the staff was not at all welcoming. They kept to themselves to talk at the register and seemed bothered by us being there. Ive ordered signed books from here for years and was so excited to finally see it in person during a weekend trip. Sadly disappointed.

Fountain Bookstore is a Richmond treasure! The staff is always very helpful: every one of their staff pick childrens books that I have purchased have been a hit! Theyve also helped me pick the perfect dad history of the year, and find good sci fi for me. Preordering a book that comes out next summer was also a breeze. Thanks Fountain!

Really awesome indie bookstore. Small, but with a great selection and the staff are fantastic. You can tell they genuinely live reading and books, and theyre super helpful.

I ordered a signed copy of Jennifer Armentrouts Storm and Fury, and it arrived to my house water damaged, moldy, and ruined. But a 1-minute phone call later, they were shipping out a new book. They are friendly and their understanding, wonderful customer service has made sure Ill be returning to them for books in the future.

Awesome local bookstore. Came for a book signing for one of my favorite authors and it felt really personal. A bit crowded but that spoke to the great event, lots of interested bookworms like me!

Wonderful, homey atmosphere, but its just so tiny on the inside. They do a wonderful job of bringing in speakers, and setting up cooperative events with other businesses, but I went to one speaker event, and even though the audience was small, maybe 15 people, we were practically sitting in each others laps.

Wonderful little bookstore with a diverse selection of literature, fun knick-knacks, and very friendly staff.

Came in to pickup a book I pre ordered (which they didn’t require payment for to reserve) and left with lots of gifts. They were great, and it was obvious they are a beloved part of Shockoe bottom. I saw about 10 books I wanted, too. Not your big box bookstore (although they did have the big titles). Prices were fair also. Stop in you won’t be disappointed

The best independent bookstore in the region! They have a great selection and also tons of events; author meetups, bookclubs, etc. If youre a bookworm, this is the place to be.
