We recently used Cross Creek for a good sized landscaping job in our backyard. We were looking for trees and shrubs that would provide privacy, were deer resistant, and fast growing. The landscape designer drew up a beautiful plan and the workers came this week to plant everything. They were courteous, efficient and did a great job. We couldnt be happier. I would recommend Cross Creek to anyone who has a substantial landscaping job.
This is a wonderful garden nursery! I thoroughly enjoyed how they separated and organized their plants. Their shaded area is extremely peaceful! Their selection of water plants were not too plentiful but I did get a handful of free tadpoles for our backyard pond. They have a very large selection of pottery and inside plants as well. To cover this place, make sure you have plenty of time, because the place is huge! Definitely have what you need to create a beautiful garden! Enjoy!
The team at Cross Creek recently finished a hardscaping job on our pool project. The work quality was outstanding and exceeded our very high expectations in turning Cody’s design in to a reality. Owen and crew showed up and left at the same time each day, they did exactly what they said they would do each day, and they left a clean job site each day.In addition to the work quality, we were even more impressed with the level of customer service that the team at Cross Creek provided during this process. From the initial design stage, to the flexibility on timing due to multiple delays with our pool builder, to the daily visits by the Cross Creek leadership team members. We also appreciated the constant communication including the daily check-ins to make sure we were pleased with progress.I will look forward to being a long time Cross Creek customer. I will always be happy to be a reference, and happy to share pics.
The best local nursery by far! It’s huge, every plant is healthy, and the staff is knowledgeable. My son and I love going for adventures around the grounds. We have professional landscaping services scheduled for October, and we cannot wait!
Beautiful Nursery and they take very good care of the plants based off my observation. I went to a few in the area and this was definitely the best one! Nice staff as well.
Amazing experience with Cross Creek for our hardscaping, landscaping and drainage improvements. Andrew, Cody and the entire team we interacted with could not have done more to deliver a best-in-class result. The design of our project went a long way to see what we could expect as a final product and the commitment that went into making it come to life was impressive. Now that our backyard looks so amazing we have other projects in mind and will certainly use Cross Creek for those as well. We could not be happier.
I got a bouquet on the fly for my mother in law that was gorgeous. I also got some single flowers for teachers appreciation day and the teachers absolutely loved them. The staff is so kind and creative and the prices are unbeatable!
Since quarantine, I have started a new hobby of taking care of indoor plants! I discovered Cross Creek a few months ago. Since then, I take my son here almost every other week. Sometimes to shop, sometimes to enjoy the beautiful nursery. There are goats that love to be pet, a slide for kids, plenty of space to walk around socially distanced, and little nooks to sit down and relax. I definitely recommend coming here! It might be overwhelming, but the staff is very helpful!! Pregnant mom note: there are air conditioned public restrooms in the floral shop!
If youre a lover of a large variety of plants organized in an easy to find fashion youll love Cross Creek Nursery. Theres a healthy selection of everything, including houseplants (my favorite), perennials, annuals, decor, pots, soil, and all related supplies. Plenty of knowledgeable & friendly staff too. Honestly, its my favorite place to go by myself and just walk around. I highly recommend them.
Trees are not cheap but you are getting a healthy product and infinite options. Many trees need to have better description tags on them to explain hardiness, sun requirements and especially growth expectations. Everyone was extremely friendly but maybe drawn a bit thin as it was a bit crowded. Overall, an excellent facility.
Beautiful and HUGE nursery. So much to choose from and the staff are lovely. Never crowded and always fully stocked.
I originally gave this business 5 stars. Now I get an email that they are going to cash in on the cannabis market by selling growing supplies starting July 1, 2021 with a well trained staff to offer advice on proper care of the stuff. They just lost my business.
Cross Creek recently re-landscaped most of our backyard, and I cant say enough great things about the process and their team. Lauren Adelman created an exceptional landscape design, listened to all of our needs and wants, was extremely responsive, and was super friendly and fun to boot. Brian Mease and the entire installation team worked tirelessly and carefully to create a beautiful result. I cant recommend them enough!!
Best nursery around. Always the best variety of plants and tress at good prices. Val has been great helping me each time I go with excellent plant info and suggestions on all my yard transformation projects.
Such a beautiful place to walk around and bring kids! The staff was really helpful too!
Always a great experience!!!! Beautiful flowers!!!! Brought some home today! Had them potted right there. Big time saver!!!! Folks always so helpful and friendly!!!
Cross Creek is by far the best place in Richmond for houseplants - Amazing selection of harder to find plants at reasonable prices!
I absolutely loved my venture throughout this nursery today. Was truly beautiful and I cant wait to experience my lilies I purchased from them along with Peace Lily and Tropical plant.
Cross Creek is the cutest nursery. I always feel welcome, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is an enormous variety of every sort of plant possible. I really like the “pixie plant” selection, which are little 2” pots of indoor plants at a very cheap price. That way I don’t feel too bad if one of my plants die!I haven’t looked at the landscaping supplies and in too many of the other areas of the place, but Cross Creek is huge!As a plus side, if you have kids, they will love seeing the goats out front, and there’s also a gravel area with a small slide and construction trucks to play with. Super cute.
Great nursery with a very large selection. Every employee I met there was very helpful and knowledgeable. They gave me good advice on selecting a rhododendron for our yard. I recommend this nursery highly.
Park-like setting. Very enjoyable.
I love coming here and bringing my three year old. She loves the goats, slide, and just looking at everything, as do I. We’ve bought several plants from here, as well as gift items. I do miss their shop area, but I understand that that may not be profitable. It’s always lovely here. But what drives me crazy is I always get a person who seems to have just learned the register. I get they have seasonal help and registers are more complicated than we may realize. But yet again, I come home from their vegetable plant sale, and not a one of my vegetable plants was rung up on sale. And yes, I’m a garden club member. It’s just frustrating when half the time my order is wrong, and I hate to be THAT customer who has to ask the clerk if everything is rung up correctly.
The staff is always extremely knowledgeable and helpful and their selection is fantastic as well
Love Cross Creek. Plenty of variety and awesome employees.
I recently received two arrangements from this florist. They were the most unique and beautiful I have ever had. I strongly recommend their services
Great service and knowledge, good prices. Always something good to find!!
Friendly staff, however I would suggest fastgrowingtrees.com over this nursery for tree purchases. I used them for the Hydrangeas but the trees were over priced and some were looking pretty rough and nonnegotiable. The pic attached is my beautiful blood good Japanese maple from fastgrowing trees. I tried to get the manager to at least price match and the response was that I should go online, so I did w zero regrets because it looks way better then the ones I saw at this nursery with free shipping and within 2 days.
The tree farm here is amazing! All trees of all sizes and all are awesome. The prices are reasonable For the quality. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend going here.annaPerfect place.
I love this place. I have found some quality gems here. The plants are well taken care of. I highly recommend. :)
A wonderful (and beautiful!) location, friendly and knowledgeable employees, and a wide selection of plants, both outdoor and indoor. Would highly recommend, definitely one of (if not the best) horticultural businesses in RVA
A wonderful nursery. Every employee is knowledgeable and helpful with a huge variety of plants, mulch, stone -- anything you need. Also a great selection of native plants. Great place
Wonderful place. Great selection and very friendly staff.
Great place! Huge selection. Purchased several times here. Friendly staff
Helpful, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Plants are gorgeous and healthy with reasonable prices.
Very few straight natives (unlabeled), mixed in with English ivy and Asian grasses and everything else. Basically encouraging people to buy non-native and invasive plants. Another witting contributor to the ecological sterilization of Virginia.
I absolutely love coming here. Beautiful nursery full of blooms, butterflies, and bees. Knowledgeable employees have a passion for gardening and are very willing to offer advice. Plants for every type of environment can be found here. You may want to come early as it can get busy later in the morning. Sometimes it can take a bit of walking to find a cart, but its a scenic walk. Every time I come I find something new for the garden!
Good prices on plants. Friendly, helpful staff!
This nursery has one of the best selections of plants in the area (especially indoor plants) and reasonable prices for what are some of the healthiest plants around. It doesn’t hurt that you can also say hi to the goats on site 😋 absolutely check this place out for your gardening and indoor plant needs!
What a treasure in Chesterfield County, they have everything you need for landscaping, rocks, dirt, mulch, large pots, garden statues, pond plants, you name it!
Awesome place. They have everything and more. A childs playground for adults who love all things gardening, fall and the holidays. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
We are a Non-Profit organization and today Cross Creek saved our day! The staff and management really go out of their way to help you. The Mercy House for Women want to Thank You!!!
Always a great trip to see the flowers and plants. Great selection of pumpkins and mums for fall, and so affordable. Love coming here!
Very nice and clean store, beautiful flowers and greenery, I get bows and wreaths made by them very friendly staff and pleasant. Prices are very reasonable.
Cross Creek Nursery did an excellent job on our recent landscape project. What a huge difference it made to our homes curb appeal. They removed the foundation plants that served us well for 30 years, and installed all the plantings according to the plan which was developed using our input and their expertise. It was quite a job, but the crew worked fast and were careful regarding the power line for our lamp post and sprinkler heads/lines.We will certainly use Cross Creek for any future projects!
I enjoy shopping here. I have bought several citrus trees as well as other fruit plants. The citrus lost their leaves due to stress from the winter being by a window inside, but are still doing well and will flourish in their new greenhouse. Some of the staff doesnt know some things, but I understand since there are a lot of things to know about each variety of plant. They carry a huge variety, and cant possibly know about all of them. I did a ton of research on the plants that I intended to purchase before I bought them and had very few questions regarding them. However, the few questions that I did have were answered by the person I initially spoke with or someone they radioed. They offer a military discount, which is a great help as well. I have not dealt with any services for lawnscaping since I love to do that myself. I consider the staff very professional and if they dont know then I understand because I used to work at an herb farm, and its very overwhelming to know everything about all the plants.
The young lady that help me was great!!!
In so many ways a good experience BUT employees neither wore masks nor kept a 6’ distance. (One young woman did wear a mask but came very close to me.) I would expect Cross Creek to have more respect for their customers and for their employees. This does not make me feel comfortable about returning.
My mom and dad both lost their older sisters this month, so I called this morning to place an order for curbside pick up. The butterfly bushes I wanted weren’t available online, but the nursery staff were so kind to place my order over the phone and within 20 minutes my order was ready at the curbside pick up area. Wonderful service!
Awesome place for plants, garden veggies and great advice
There is an extensive selection of houseplants here. The layout of the place is beautiful. However, I only saw two employees with masks which was very off putting. At the cash register there is a sign telling customers to wear masks to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 (which has killed 140,000 people and counting in the United States alone). Wearing a mask helps protect the people around you, and it shows a lack of consideration for the health of the customers for employees not to wear masks at this establishment. I will be taking my business elsewhere where my safety and the safety of others is prioritized.
Good selection. Public restroom (traveler here).Prices can be high.
Absolutely horrendous, I was actively ignored by employees and was given dirty looks. All of the plants were EXTREMELY overpriced and most of them looked neglected including the string of pearls that I decided to get. I walked the plate of spaghetti looking plant up to the cashier to check out and the house pant was misidentified as a string of dolphins?? and I was over charged! How can you work at a nursery and not even be able to tell two COMPLETELY different plants apart? Absolutely enraged. Service is so terrible, I genuinely feel sorry for the plants that have to suck up the carbon dioxide from such uneducated souls. Don’t waste your time
A large assortment of plants and plant needs.
Great variety of annuals, perennials, houseplants and nursery plants. Beautiful landscaping with pond. Helps to inspire new ideas for your yard!
Great prices, stock, help and service make Cross Creek nursery one of the top companys in Richmond.
Staff is awesome, trees are pricey though. Frasier fir trees are super expensive this year but found cross creek to be quite a bit more than others. 7-8 ft tree was about 70$ last year and 99$ this year. Of the 4 friends I asked we paid more at cross creek than any other nursery. Also my wife also used to get about 10-15$ to spend in the Christmas shop on decor and they’ve stopped that promotion this year that she had enjoyed the past 5 or so years. I’ve always said we’ll go to cross creek because I knew I could get a good tree for decent price without having to go cut one down myself; however next year I will definitely go elsewhere simply because the tree I’m looking at in my house right now as I write this is not worth the 105$ I spent.
Always lovely
1st visit. Will not be my last. They had everything I was looking for. It was helpful there was a sale going on.
Great selection of natives.
Cross Creek looks great from the outside but its plants are lacking. Ive bought trees and perrenials from here and they all struggle. You will easily find better plants at other nurseries in town. Bought some maples...they are struggling. Arborvitae-- they struggle. There is also a lack of customer service here. Its quite bad. Ive been overcharged when checking out 3 times. THREE TIMES! Please if you buy from here, check your receipt. They will get you. After using CC for one year, I switched to Great Big Greenhouse. Which is unfortunate because its closer to me. You will read great reviews on Google, but trust me either they treat certain people with more attention than others...if you get my drift.
Huge with plenty of selection and good pricing. Come with shoes you dont mind getting dirty.
I drive past other nurseries to come here. Great selection, prices are fine, nursery stock is extensive, fun to browse under big trees, in greenhouse, by the pond, and fun to see the goat. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I also like the selection of native plants. The honey bees are cool too.
Great place for business. A+ service
Always a great experience, tons of options for you yard and garden
Love the service and selection!
My wife and I got married recently and used the floral group at Cross Creek to do the flowers for our wedding. Kim was our main contact in the floral department and was a huge help. Not only were the flowers affordable but we recieved so many compliments from our guests at how wonderful they looked. I would highly recommend using Cross Creek for any floral needs. Friendly and helpful people!-The Stewarts
Great service with a huge selection of plants that are well priced.
Excellent tree nursery. Prices are decent too
Extremely helpful and friendly. Great selection!
Great variety and service
Great selection and service
Love their customer service and of course plants!
Found some great scented plants for my home. Julia was a huge help and walked me around to find everything I needed. My toddler loves the goats!
Great nursery, great products. I will be back next year for sure.
Good.
A good place to buy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants.
Great selection of high priced plants
Cross creek did an amazing job!! We purchased two Trees and two ruby falls shrubs. When they came to plant them they instructed me to place the flags where I wanted the trees and plants to be installed. Got home after the installation and couldn’t even tell they had been at my home besides the obvious plants were in the ground.
I am new to the area and am very happy to have found Cross Creek. Fantastic collection of trees and shrubs. I look forward to visiting often as I landscape my new home.
Cross Creek Nursery is the BEST!!! They have been cutting my lawn/landscaping around my house for close to a year and I have never had a problem. They are extremely easy to work with and truly care about the customer experience. I highly recommend them!
As noted in the other reviews, the quality of the products is very good. However, I have found the level of service terrible. I have been a customer of Cross Creek for years, even before it grew into the large business it is now. Unfortunately, the quality of service has not been able to keep up with this growth. Over the past couple of years I have attempted to inquire about services only to be sent to voice mail and have calls returned days later, or send an email only to receive a response that does not answer the questions asked. Yesterday I tried to call about purchasing yard mulch. Once again, I was sent to voice mail. I called back, and the employee took a message - my call was again not returned. In frustration I sent an email from their site which went to the vice president who did call me immediately, and was very decent about listening to me voice my frustration, but never offered an explanation as to why this happens. This morning, I tried to use the option for live chat - around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, only to be on the chat system waiting for over five minutes only to give up. I tried calling again, only to have my call dropped. I think I need to find another business for my landscaping needs. Cross Creek is expensive, and based on my experience with their service, I am not sure that it is worth it. For me it was about convenience and the fact that I have been a long time customer.
Wonderful nursery to find fall plants and decor
My experience with Mark at Cross Creek Nursery was second to none! The project he planned for me took place on time and he delivered what he promised. When I wanted to add some additional plants, he did so in a timely manner! The project is just what I had hoped for. I would rate the quality of the plants, the design and the entire experience 5 Stars and better. Be assured that Cross Creek will be my number one design pro and landscaper. Thank you for all you did!
So I called this place to try and make an appointment to get an estimate because they had very high ratings here on Google. Unfortunately my experience was not as great. The customer service was extremely lacking. I called yesterday and spoke to a girl and explained I was looking to get an estimate for some sod installation and some other miscellaneous Landscaping projects around my property . She then put me through to someones voice mail name Austin. I left a voicemail with a similar message that I was interested in an estimate for sod installation and various Landscaping projects. Nobody called me back. I called them again this morning and spoke to the girl again and asked her if somebody could please help me she then put me on hold and Austin got on the phone.I had explained that I had left a message yesterday and that I was interested in trying to get an estimate for sod installation and some other miscellaneous projects. He interrupted and said that if I was only looking for sod installation that they probably werent the right people. Even though I had already mentioned several times that there were other Landscaping projects that I wanted to get done. I was not happy at all with his demeanor and seeming implication that I wasnt worth the time and effort .Im not sure if there was an assumption made that I just wasnt going to be a profitable business project. I thanked him for his time and got off the phone.Unfortunately they lost a good deal of business because I was looking invest several thousand dollars in revamping the landscaping around my property. Your loss!
We love this place! Best nursery in Chesterfield weve found. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and reasonably priced.
Many good visits! Bought a nice stone engraved memorial bench but upon unloading it, the seat slide sideways & a light tap cracked off the edge. Ridiculous. Its supposed to be a concrete outdoor mix & a light tap shouldnt break off the edge of the bench. Obviously the blend is made to NOT be durable. In construction, you choose what is poured into the mold. It need not be POROUS or BRITTLE. Im sore about it because I do know that the porous blend with visible interior bubbling & a granular sand does not hold up. Think. Thats all it takes to build bridges that endure & benches that wont break when the top slides sideways. Maybe Crossweak doesnt realize. I love the employees in all the sections from summer vegetables to mulch & straw. Its a nice natural area.
Im personally confused by some of the negative comments... especially from one person who said they never even been to the nursery? Ive been going to Cross Creek nursery for six years now. I have gotten all of our family Christmas trees from there at Christmas time and they have always lasted for weeks and weeks and have been stunning. Every spring Ive gotten beautiful hanging baskets from Cross Creek that put other big chain stores hanging baskets to shame. They are full and bright and beautiful and bloom for months. Everyone at the nursery has always been helpful, and my daughter loves going there - always something fun for the kids to do. I will be heading up in another week or two to get some tomato plants for my garden. I would highly recommend to anyone!
We visited the nursery and were given a personal tour by a very nice employee. She answered all of our questions and was very helpful in explaining the great variety of plants. We will definitely make this our go to gardening store!
