Submitted my application online my sales representative took care of the rest. In the service department theres a gentleman named Albert he took care of my vehicle concerns. It was fantastic. The person greeting me was nice. He explained everything to me so I didnt have to wonder what was next. The lady handling my paper work was very pleasant. She explained to me how many people were ahead of me. I was there a long time. The whole thing does take a long time, but it is to be expected. The best part they gave $4,400 more than the dealership offered me!!!!! I was extremely happy

CarMax is absolutely amazing!! I got a quote online, liked the instant offer I received, drove 15 minutes to my nearest Carmax and was out with a check in under 1 hour. It has been the easiest, fastest, most efficient method of selling a car that Ive ever experienced! The customer service was outstanding. The showroom was super clean! There were very clean restrooms. Very friendly staff! This is the only way to sell a car. Its super safe, super fast, super profitable. We were wondering if when we got there they would negotiate but they did not. It was really wonderful. The wait was a little longer than expected but the experience was great.

I am extremely happy with my decision to sell my vehicle to CarMax. I went online and keyed in my VIN which brought up my vehicle details. I then entered additional information associated with my truck and uploaded pictures. I was immediately given a very generous offer in writing which was good for 10 days. I made an appointment which fit into my schedule - and once all of my information was verified I was immediately paid the exact amount of the online offer. I was skeptical and expected to be lowballed, as my experience with car dealers in the past has not always been ideal or pleasant. I am extremely pleased that I chose to sell my used vehicle to CarMax. They have gained a loyal customer.

Overall I’m more happy than not due to your company giving me the best offer price for my Jeep. However if we’re talking solely about my feelings on the efficiency and customer service I’d absolutely never come back and never refer anyone to you. I called before every appointment to make sure everything was ready at the office and to clarify the documents and I did and didn’t have and without fail even on the third time I was asked to return to make the sell, there was still an over two hour wait for them to rescan documents I already gave them and for them to reprint papers they said they already had ready or to just send me away to come back another day. Again yay for having the best monetary offer but overall did not have a good experience.

We sold a car to them. Even though the transmission was bad, they did their best to give us the best deal considering. It was bitter sweet, because while we took a loss due to a Shady car lot deal gone horribly wrong, we didnt lose everything thanks to Carmaxs willingness to take it off of our hands for something. Of course we didnt get all we got burned for, but it was better than walking away empty handed. Thank you CarMax!!

Carmax Palmdale: Excellent Service, really good advice. We almost bought a car, but when representative noticed that we were not fully happy, he advised us on how to transfer another one, even though it would not be sold via him. We appreciated it.Only disadvantage: We wanted to transfer a car from Palmdale to Riverside, but we were not able to do it online. The hotline told us, it was not possible. Once in Palmdale, the transfer was possible, all of a sudden. It is also not clear, why some transfers cost 99 Dollars, and others are free.

I bought a car a couple months ago from CarMax and it was missing the cap on one of the rims which I brought up when purchasing the vehicle. They told me that they would replace that one and if they couldn’t find the matching one, they would order 4 new caps that would match. I purchased the vehicle and after 2 months of me calling them and being led on, they finally told me that they will not be replacing the cap nor will they give me a new set of caps to replace them. When purchasing a vehicle from this company, be careful of the repairs that they say they will make. They make promises just to get the customer out of the door.

I had the opportunity to purchase a vehicle from CarMax in Riverside yesterday. It was the best car purchase experience I have ever had. I am hearing impaired since birth and wear hearing aids and with everyone wearing masks these days I cant read their lips. My sales person was Tony Cabral, he is the most patient and understanding young man I have met in a very long time. He walked me through the entire purchase process with CarMax and explained everything thoroughly at a speech level I could hear, and when I couldnt hear him he did not get rude with me when he had to repeat himself. Tony Cabral I cant thank you enough for your kindness, you are a great sales person and CarMax should reward you.

I bought a 4 year old car getting ready to turn 60k on miles. The sunroof squeaks, the service shifter light came on AND the check engine light came on - all within 6 days of purchase. They took the car in for repairs and told me I should get it back Monday - this was Wednesday - so in 6 days. Friday I got a text saying the parts that were expected came in, but there were two other cars in front of mine, so I wont get my car back until Wednesday (maybe) or 8 days after drop off...thats longer than Ive owned the car! I understand the service department isnt open on the weekends - maybe they should be! Very disappointed.

Absolutely amazing car buying experience here. Came here after Drive Time in Riverside left a sour taste in our mouth. My fiancé and I were in the market for a used vehicle so we decided to try Carmax, afterhearing good things. Marcus was our salesman and he was amazing! We highly recommend you do business with him, he treats you with respect. He is transparent about everything and everything is laid out on a screen for you to follow along while he puts together information for your car loan. The whole experience was so stress free he made us feel comfortable and not rushed. I LOVE that he thoroughly went over financing details for us and asked us if we understood everything before he proceeded. If we didnt he would explain more in detail to give us a better understanding. In short, Marcus was amazing and we got an amazing deal on a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta with 19,000 miles on it in perfect condition, previously belonging to one owner (a business exec) and well maintained and properly documented. Marcus explained they dont put anything on the lot unless it passes a very strict testing process, and no salvaged or problematic cars are ever sold at their discretion. Basically. Theyre not gonna sell you a car that might break down in several months. But of something were to happen, we purchased the extended warranty for anything that goes wrong with the car up to 125,000 miles. Completely covered when we pay a deductible of 500, an amount which we also got to choose. We left Carmax with a brand new car thanks to Marcus, he got us in and out asap with 2 hours left till closing he made it happen! Hes the best, buy a car from Marcus! Thank you!!

Selling process was great until I was told after signing paperwork that there will be a 10 day hold on payment check. I gave carmax the pink slip and my car and expect for my payment to be given in a timely manner as well instead of having to be car less until check clears. Big corporation and cant provide a cashiers check or even cash. You guys need to explain to the customer about the hold instead of having customer sign paperwork and telling them after. I lost a great deal on a truck due to this issue.

This was our second experience with Car Max. The first one, when we got our daughter a car three years ago, was amazing from beginning to end, which is why we came back when it was time to get my son a car. The purchase part of the experience was fast and easy. They transferred a car for us quickly and set up an appointment for us by text right away. Our sales rep was friendly and knowledgeable. We paid cash, so signing out documents was pretty stress-free. That is where the good experience ends. The second day, we noticed that the brakes squealed so we called and made an appointment with the service department. They offered us a loaner (we didn’t think they did that) and we got an appointment for the next week. On the day of the appointment we were told that we couldn’t get a loaner because it wasn’t overnight. We rearranged our day a bit but they tried to make it up by getting us a Lyft from and back to the dealer that afternoon. We picked up the car and it was better but within a day it started to squeal again. Then, the tire pressure indicator went on even though tires were fine. We called again to make an appointment, but this time we were told it was going to be almost two weeks before we could be seen. We were concerned because of the possible safety issue of the brakes and tires so we asked for the service manager to call us. We didn’t get a call from him so we called the next day and voiced our concerns to the manager. He apologized but said we could not come in any sooner due to their shortage of service technicians. We will be very close to the 30-day return day by the time we take the car in the second time, so I hope they fix it or we will have to return a car that my son has grown fond of. If they can fix the car and I don’t have to return it, I will update my review.

My experience with carmax was very good. I have bad credit and that wasnt an issue, well beyond the higher APR but thats expected anywhere. Beyond that I was able to find my wife and I the perfect car for us. It was still within our budget. The process the use there was streamline and effective. I went into the building at about 10am and was able to drive the new car to work at 1pm all together the longest part was my fault because I apparently forgot all my passwords in to my various accounts and also had to transfer money but in hindsight it May have been avoided by listening to my wife in the first place. All of that said I enjoyed the experience and wouldnt mind doing it again and Im glad I decided to go with Carmax.

I put a car on hold online .Drove to the store only to find out they sold it. I did not get courtesy call to notify me. Fine. I went to the lot to look at other cars. Came inside with 3 cars in mind. I tell them I want to test drive these 3 cars. Anthony tells me all the 3 cars I want to look at are unavailable. I ask why, and he tells me They were recently put on hold online for other customers. What ?! So, I couldnt look at any cars because they were able to put cars on hold for other people, but not for me ? Anthony the representative that helped me . Literally told me : Yeah, your car was transferred yesterday and was sold yesterday. The cars you want to see are all on hold. I cant show them. No apology. No remedy. No customer service skills. No empathy. Do not go to this car max ! They are a joke. Or at least Anthony was .

The reps were terrific but, I have to say, I bought a car because I needed a car. We had to turn it in for repair within a week of having it. Carmax provided a ride home when we turned it in for repair but once the engine or transmission light came on and it took a week to fix, I was pretty upset. So having to pay an Uber driver pick me up to pick the car up upset me again. Now we are 3 weeks down the road and the problem is happening again. We are going to be giving the car back. Just waiting to rent a car.

I went to CarMax to sell a car. I first obtained an online quote via carmax.com and set an appointment. On appointment day the CarMax staff was prompt and courteous. Took longer than I wanted to complete the transaction, but maybe it was a busy day for them. Final amount offered for the car matched the online quote - no fuss, no negotiating. Final transaction and all DMV paperwork explained and taken care of by courteous CarMax staff. Will definitely sell a car this way again.

My girlfriend made an appointment two weeks ago to have to shocks replaced on her 2016 Mercedes cla 250. We got to the service department today only to be told no one ever booked our appointment. All I can say is: get the extended limited warranty when you buy here. It saved me so much money! All I had was a $50 copay for hundreds, maybe more than $1000 worth of work. Art was the employee who hooked me up in the Service dept. He was very nice and reached out often to update me while my car was being repaired. Definitely recommend getting your car serviced here.

Instead, I waited for three hours because no one called me a free the appraisal was completed and after the documentation and draft was printed.I would have left without selling the car but I’d invested so much time (unnecessarily) that I felt compelled to complete the transaction.I’ll never sell another vehicle to Carmax.

I don’t even understand how there’s so many good reviews up until the car trouble ! I couldn’t even get the car and I had horrible customer service! Got pre-approved went through the actual financing got financed ! Mind you it’s covid so no one wants to deal with going to the store ! So I had a home delivery everything was said and done by everybody other than the people I originally spoke to ! Was happy no problems then my vehicle made it to riverside got no updates what so ever I had to reach out myself to find out the car had multiple emissions recalls so here we are a month later to only find out the process wasent fully completed even though they received EVERYTHING bank statements, I’d card, credit card bill all my personal stuff ! I even paid 200 dollars to add the car to my insurance which already carries 5 fully covered vehicles ! Never had I ever dealt with this type of miss communication, negligent customer care ! I took the car off my insurance and informed who I thought to be a manager I NO longer wanted the vehicle or to do business with CarMax anymore and yet someone reaches out to tell me the vehicle has FINALLY been completed smh No thank you ! I rather deal with a buy here pay here !

I dont like writing negative reviews but I am genuinely upset! Everything is great until you have car trouble... the service department is horrible! You get 90 day guarantee with your purchase and you can purchase the additional maxcare but guess what??? Theres no sense of urgency when your check engine light comes on, they make you wait weeks for an appointment, they dont care that you need to take time off work to even make it to the appointment and then make you wait another 2 weeks for the parts that they said they would have the next day and on top of that expect you to make another appointment to get it fixed???? How unsafe is this practice, I wish I never bought a car here and believed their lies about their wonderful service and everything they have to offer when you buy from them. Ill never recommend anyone purchase a car from here.

I wanted to sell my extra car that I no longer needed. I got price quotes from all the major - and some lesser known - wholesale buyers. None was able to match Carmaxs offer.Some of those buyers contacted me by phone and assured me that they will give me the best deal; we will do whatever it takes to beat Carmaxs offer they said. Turned out to a hollow promise. The highest offer I got was $800 less than Carmax. For me, the choice was clear. Went online to get an offer to sell my car. The process was pretty simple. Got an offer that was much higher than I was expecting. In fact, the offer was 7 times higher than what Carvana was offering. I scheduled an appointment online. When I showed up at Carmax, I checked in, waited about 10-15 minutes while they did the inspection and compared it with my online offer. They accepted the full amount of the online offer and about 30 minutes later I was signing away my car and walking out with a check in hand. It was the easiest experience ever, the best value Ive ever received for a trade-in and the least amount of time Ive had to talk to people at the dealership. It was just over an hour from checking in to walking out with a check and less than 10 minutes talking to anyone. Super happy with the transaction and the process.

Outstanding and exemplary customer service from Anthony. If not for him, this review would have been 1 or 2 stars. Wait time to actually get the car and DMV documents generated was way too long. I was there from store opening til later in the afternoon and had moments of just sitting outside waiting for updates, even with 3rd party financing already approved. Once in the signing area, the doc rep was expeditious, friendly, and professional. Car detail, paint, and delivery presentation was pretty disappointing given the amount of time that was spent waiting for it to be ready and the fact that the car had just over only 5k miles on it. Purchased car will need new tires soon. Wish I couldve swapped as my trade’s tires as they were new.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM CARMAX. I bought a car from CarMax Riverside 5 months ago for $12,000 and now its being appraised at $100 because of the constant mechanical difficulties that eventually killed the car. I had their MaxCare service but had to cancel 2 months ago in order to save money. I asked if they could reinstate it but was told no by the dealership, by customer service and finally by the highest levels of customer relations. While I was on hold trying to deal with this their slogan We stand behind every vehicle we sell kept playing - THIS IS A LIE - CarMax does not stand behind their vehicles. On my final call with the highest levels of customer relations I asked them Do you stand behind your vehicles? and I was met with silence on the other end. These people are THIEVES, stay far away from CarMax.

I went to the Riverside location and left with a dirty car with with stains. When they brought the car out and I asked about it they made it seem like I was doing the most. The tire pressure was on and they told me it needed time to reset. Wrong the tire had a nail in it. I also had to go pay $200 for oil change and to change the filters because nothing was done on the car. While getting the oil change they let me know the guard on the bottom of my car was bent and broken. When I tried to call and ask about it I kept getting transferred like no one wanted to deal with me. None of this was disclosed to me. I had a terrible experience and I wouldn’t recommend CarMax to anyone I know.

Financed a car with the riverside Carmax on Sunday with $3,000 down, they sat me down went through the paperwork and showed me an inspection sheet that they do on “ All vehicles” that are sold there. Took it home Sunday and on Monday the car had a low oil pressure code so I took it back to them. The service team said that car got sold once before I bought it and brought back with engine and transmission issues and it should not have been sold and it shouldn’t have been on the lot. So they lied to me about the inspection it went through? Very upset about this place and how they treated me when I went back to get my money back. No one had an answer on why the car was sold to me.

Purchased a car at night that had a chip in the windshield of it, they couldn’t do anything to fix / repair it. Sunroof motor went out on my car a few days after I purchased... their service center leaves you on hold for excessive amounts of time & has excuses of being “busy” they ordered the incorrect part for my car & have yet been able to provide me with a status update as to when I’ll get my car back. I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR FROM CARMAX AGAIN!
