Prices just a little higher than the big Super stores but so worth it for the superior, friendly, and always available staff. This is how a business creates a loyal following. Im a believer and travel further just to shop here.

Carry a lot of stuff in that store, way better selection of hardware then Home Depot.

I worked in a small hardware store in high school. We took pride in our customer service. We also had more obscure, specialty parts than did Lowes or Home Depot. I called this Ace location from the aisle of a Home Depot. Not only did Home Depot not have exactly what I needed, the close enough for govt work item I was forced to settle on probably wasnt going to work either. I asked the young lady that answered the phone if they had a metric 8 pan head machine screw with a 1.25 pitch. I needed 2 that were 25mm long and 2 that were 40mm long. A few minutes later she came back on and said yes they had them. She brought them up to the register and all I had to do when I arrived was walk in, pay, and walk out. I wish I remembered her name, but Im sure all the employees here are deserving of the same recognition. Thank you very much.

The service is always great and theyve always had the things Ive needed for my small projects. Best part is that its 1/4 of the time from my house & back. The place on Madison...better pack a lunch.

Think of your last trip to Home Depot and all the frustrations... no help when you need it, random people selling you solar or A/C tune ups.... and lines for days. Then go to Ace in Woodcrest. Youll be shocked by how much you can buy there. Pricing is really competitive and sometimes even better. Really helpful staff and Im regularly surprised by things like kids workbooks and dog toys. Unless you are too happy and looking for something to bring you down, skip the trip to Lowes/Home Depot and be pleasantly surprised at Ace. Got a kids watering can, garden gloves for both of us and soil on my last visit. PS, they loaded it into my vehicle!

I had to go here because neither OReillys nor Autozone will have a full repair kit to a chainsaw although they will try with pointless displays. And thankfully they are just down the street because Home Depot and Lowes are just too far. They are very helpful but make sure one of the older guys helps cause if you have to get one of the younger crowd they wont have a clue how to seek out a specific part. In looking for a 3sewage cap with a hose thread connection for an RV I ended up piecing one together from ABS, PVC and Rubber glue e eventually finding my assembly was in fact the cheaper way but I would have liked to know the have that thing sold as a single marketed item. Would have saved me 2 hours and maybe cost a buck more. They didnt know it existed on their shelves. NO ONE there did. But besides being overpriced the store is very well stocked with specific parts to anydamnthing you can confuse the employees with.

I needed to get a battery for my key fob and the young man who waited on me was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend Ace hardware on Van Buren to anyone. There great.

This Ace has no pretense. Just about every one is on the mission to help customers needs. Its got split two buildings so you might want make a phone call and ask the attendant which building you should be entered.

Extremely expensive for typical off the shelf items.. Example: $10.00 for a package of 20 small wall anchors... At Lowes or Home Depot the same package is just $4.00

I lost my keys at Fairmount Park over seven months ago. I had an Ace Hardware rewards tag on my keys. Someone found them and turned then in to Ace and Ace called me so I could pick them up. I love going to ace. If I dont know exactly what I need for a project they will help me. They always know where everything is and what is a better buy. If I am about to buy the wrong part/tool they save me by asking what project I am undertaking and give their advice on how I can accomplish this better. Sometimes I am doing exactly what I need to be and they arent pushy. They can tell I have it covered and help those that look lost. This place couldnt be a better neighbourhood hardware store. Very friendly staff even at the end of a long day.

Go here whenever there is a home project needing items and expert advise! Had a frustrating time converting fireplace to gas logs......incompatible parts, expanded pipes, incredibly hard to find hoses. So, started asking for advise. Greg, was able to examine my situation and made exact item purchases to allow for a correct and safe install. Thank You Greg and to ACE! Will be cozing up to our new gas log fireplace with family on the holidays...Merry Christmas!

This is a nice hardware store which is on both sides of the parking lot. It is a friendly store with knowledgeable personnel who are reminiscent of the old time store people. If you need help and good advice for your project, this is the place to go. The big stores are nice but these smaller hardware stores usually have more personal service.

Horrible online/customer service. Placed an online order for same day pick up as advertised just before 3pm, 4 hours before they close at 7pm. Befor I placed the order I did a stock check to make sure on inventory. Placed my order called the store for an update, now Im being told its going to take 2 to 3 day to fill the order on items they said they had instock. Horrible service.
