The owner and his staff are very nice and upfront about any issues they find about any of their vehicles. They got the issue I found out on the vehicle fixed and back to me the same day. Very satisfied with this used car dealer.

If I could give this place a million negative star I would! He took my down payment of 300 for a Jeep that I NEVER saw. Yes my own fault, it looked good in pictures. The day I got it, the abs, the 4wd, the traction control light, tire light, change oil light, and now the check engine light came on. He had the Jeep for over a week and it isn’t right. Since Before I had the Jeep he has been trying to get me to take my money back. I have asked him to correct it and he says to bring back to him. I would rather my own mechanic look at it due to it not being right from his. He REFUSES to allow that. I have almost been in two accidents in less than a month due to his so called mechanic working on the brakes. So... DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! EDIT: once he saw this review he made it so I can no longer communicate with him.

Seeing they managed to get the review I posted deleted I will post again. Bought a dodge truck from here. The day after I got it and the day after it was inspected find that the tie rod is completely shot. You could take the wheel and move it without even trying. Find coolant leaking trace it back to the radiator. Call mike to have it fixed. Bring it to get fixed have the appointment at 10am. Call at 4 to see how it was coming. They haven’t even touched it. They did fix the tie rod, however the radiator they did not. I was told that it was just a hose and that they replaced it (wrong hose i had to replace it myself). Two days after it was ‘fixed’ the radiator was still leaking. Bring it back again. This time my husband showed them exactly where it is leaking and it was out of the radiator. The ‘mechanic’ that they had working told him well just loosen the radiator cap and it won’t leak because it won’t build pressure. They ordered the radiator we put it in ourselves because they have no certification saying that they are a NYS repair shop. Had the truck for a month now. Go to install running boards on it today. Find that the body mount, cab mount assembly is completely and totally rusted out. Wouldn’t recommend buying anything from here.

Amazing customer service! As with any used car you buy you never know what you will get. We bought a truck from Risen Auto and within 4 days it stopped running. The lemon law in NY State does cover any vehicle over 100K so Risen Auto had no obligation to help me out. However he came 2 and a half hours to where I live and towed the truck back to his shop. After extensive work on the vehicle it was never right. He gave me the money I put down on the vehicle towards another vehicle that my wife and I love. Mike from Risen went above and beyond any expectations I had about a small used car dealership. Thank you again for all your help!

This is my second time buying a car from here. I was so nervous to get rid of my 2011 Chevy Cruze because it was my absolute favorite car I have ever owned.. But, I traded it in & bought a 2013 Ford Edge, & I love it! Mike & Cathy are absolutely amazing.. I dont have the best credit, so I traded 3 vehicles (with my husband) & we got 2 amazing cars. (One of mine had a blown motor). They did everything they could to get us in the vehicles we wanted. Theyre friendly, caring, and treat you like family. My check engine light came on a few weeks later, which the code came up as an evap leak. I was there helping a friend pick out a vehicle, & I told them about the light being on, they scanned it, & booked an appointment with me to get it checked out. I am sure all the code is for is my gas cap as it is an E-Z fill.Needless to say, I 110% recommend Risen Auto, & I will only ever be going to this dealership. I wish I lived closer, just so I could see them more often. They make my day so much better. They really go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy, safe, best price, & satisfied.Thank you for your help in getting me into the car I wanted to be in, again. & Thank you for helping my husband, & TWO best friends get into vehicles. Hope to see you soon Mike & Cathy!! Take care & Stay Warm! :)

After reading Sarahs review I decided to post my similar experience. I had to leave my vehicle overnight for repair and I also met Mark at the garage. He said he could hurry things along and let me know when my car was done if I gave him my number which foolishly I did. He began sending me messages like I smelt nice and he was hoping I would brush against him. Needless to say I sent a cousin to pick up the vehicle for me, not worth doing business with a place that has predators working there.

Risen Auto is hands down, the place to purchase your next vehicle! My husbands work car had died and we needed a second vehicle, fast. Not wanting a monthly payment greater than $250 and having awful credit, Mike was able to work with us to get us into a car that same day and remain in budget. We had been referred to Risen Auto by a friend who had also purchased a vehicle from them and I too, highly recommend Mike and his team. Go to Risen Auto!

4 months after purchasing the van the vehicle is currently sitting in my driveway because Risen auto said I went over the 12,000 mile warranty and would only get me a reduced price on the labor and a new engine for $1000.00 and Ive spoke to a few other previous customers and they had the same horror stories about this business. Worst place to get a vehicle from in Rome NY.

Driving down road, front pass tire started falling off the van and I found the sway bar was broken. Do not go here to buy your car no matter how much you need one. I came here after totalling my vehicle and needed something to replace it right away. They put me in a van which has had nothing but problems since I got it. After having an already bad experience with a dealership previously I was very leery of getting a vehicle from here. Mike told me that I would have a 30 day warranty and he would be able to work with me on repairs after that. Basically all to get me into the car. Since I got it I had to return it to him twice because they replaced something in the thermostat and it was leaking coolant and then the car broke down on the side of the road and had to be towed from the thruway to his shop. I had to argue with him that it wasnt 30 days yet just to get him to have his mechanics look at it. Then he calls me and tells me Ive driven too many miles and he wont be fixing it again. The car has a transmission problem that still isnt fixed and I have to call a family member almost every day to jump start it. Im a single parent with small children one of them an 18 month old and I have to again worry for their safety every day I put them in this car. Ive tried calling to speak to him about this and he wont answer the phone or return calls. Im about to just leave it in his yard and stop paying for it, dont care if it ruins my credit at this point its going to anyway.

I bought a 2004 Ford F-250 6.0 Powerstroke from Risen Auto in November 2019. When I purchased the truck I bought a power train warranty for one year to cover me if there were any underlying problems unbeknownst to me. After only 700 miles the truck blew a manifold and I was stranded on the side of 81 North. I called Mike at Risen Auto and he had a tow truck to me within 45 minutes. The truck went to the mechanic and it was going to be about $4000 to fix the truck. Mike and his mechanic always kept me up to date on the progress and since the truck was ripped apart we opted to bulletproof the heads and erase the egr which was an extra $500 so I wouldn’t have this problem in the future. My truck was in the shop for almost a month. I was patient with the process and it was well worth it. So long story short, when Mike put the claim in to the warranty company after the $4000 worth of work was done they denied the claim because I only had put 700 miles on the truck and the warranty didn’t kick in until 45 days or 1200 miles. At this time I was not certain how this was going to play out. To be honest, I thought I was screwed. However, Mike called me and told me he paid the bill out of his pocket and the truck was ready to be picked up. Further, the extra $500 in work I agreed to pay was cut in half. Mike said since I waited so long he would pay $250 of that also. Oh ya, the truck I bought was for plowing my business at Kasoag Lake which is a 45 minute drive from Rome where Risen is located. When that big snow storm came through I got a call from Mike offering to drive up and plow for me. What a great person to do business with. I highly recommend Risen Auto when buying a used vehicle.

So as a young man, I mad a lot of mistakes and been rejected from many car dealerships because of my bad choices, Risen Auto not only gave me another chance, They found a auto I like, worked with me on my payments, found something that fit my budget and anytime I need a re pair or something wasnt right, they welcomed me with open arms and didnt stop until they fixed the problem, Mike & His Family really care about the people, and not trying to get rich quick, I have 3 cars from this man, and hes always been there for me and my family, I also likes how he care about me as well, like u asked me personally how I am doing, whats coming up next for me and on and on, Great Man, Great Team, Great Leader !!!!#ln4life #teamautorisen

I bought a 2010 jeep patriot sport from here, it seemed perfect when we got it, a few weeks later the problems started. I had it for about 7 months, during this time I had to replace the brakes (which they said were brand new), replace 90% of the rear suspension, and while I was saving up money to replace the front suspension it broke as I was driving and is now totaled! I put well over $1500 into this jeep for nothing. And theyre still trying to sell the honda civic I traded in for this, the entire thing was falling apart when I had it, thats why it was traded in!

I bought a used car from the owner Mike Mallace, obviously gave me quite the runaround making me think I got a deal, I brought the car back within a couple days and a list of problems, I was told they would be fixed but come to find out a couple months later all the problems I wanted addressed were not fully fixed and some problems arose within a couple days and I was told that I would need to leave my car there for longer than 2 days, which is almost impossible because it is now my only vehicle and I have two kids with a full-time job. If I was offered a replacement vehicle until mine was fixed I would have had no problem. The guy basically tries to shoo you out the door after the purchase has been made. He honestly seems like a solid guy but after this I will never buy a vehicle from him again and as of right now 7 months later I have done nothing but dump money into this vehicle just to keep it afloat. I never minded a little wear and tear because it was a used vehicle but this is honestly ridiculous. I had to change the brakes within 3 weeks a battery within a month, radiator which was on my list within a month, electronic throttle control sensor which was on my list because I noticed a hesitation and sputter when trying to accelerate or stay at a certain speed, front passenger wheel bearing, rear passenger strut, all four valve stems in my tires because for some reason they put an epoxy on my valve stem caps that had eroded the valve stem itself and made it impossible to inflate the tire. I dont even want to get started on the exhaust That was supposed to be fixed before I purchased the vehicle, they completely cobbed that job and it honestly pisses me off because that, the radiator and passenger sliding door where my main three issues and all of which still give me problems today. I could keep going but get a car there and find out for yourself.

Engine has blown twice since March. Th dealer had his mechanic fix it the first time, which it was NEVER fixed... but alas, we didnt have our vehicle for 55 days the first time. Then, we have had our vehicle since June 14th and on August 19th the engine seized again, while driving at 9:30 P.M., with my young child and husband. Luckily I have AAA. I live in New Hartford and work on Genesee Street in Utica, that is the extent that this car is driven for the most part.
