The first time I called, Scott and I spoke about completing a 20k mile service on an Audi SUV. He clearly explained what they did and checked during this service. Then he gave me the price and explained any potential variables that could increase the price, if things needed replaced. He mentioned that a loaner vehicle was available, which is always a nice luxury from an Independent shop. The service only took a few hours, then we picked up a washed vehicle and paid the same amount Scott told me it would be. Support Independent shops and help your wallet! Ill definitely recommend German Motors to others.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I want others to be warned: I came in for a simple check engine light. I clearly expressed that I was not interested in any unnecessary repairs, save for removing the check engine light, (they can be very costly in German cars). I had to pay $150.00 plus tax for diagnostics to find the problem causing the check engine light, which was fine. However, they do NOT put any of that money towards the repairs btw. After checking the car out, they claimed it was the “PVC Valve” or “Oil Separator”. This did not make sense, since the code was coming back as PO303 (misfire on cylinder 3), and according to a mechanic friend of mine, it made no sense to do their “recommended” repair, as that would cause multiple misfires on different cylinders, and that it made more sense that it was due to a faulty fuel injector. However, Ralph at German Motors assured me he was confident this was the necessary repair needed. The cost was around $550.00. I took the car home and the check engine light immediately came on. Same issue. I called and had to bring the car back on Monday morning. They offer to recheck the car, and kept the car for about 3 days. They never called back. I call about my vehicle, and they said, “oh we’ve been busy, well check it ASAP”. They finally call back and say it’s the fuel injector issue, and the new repairs will cost an additional $1200.00! They made it very clear, they will do nothing to make it right; they will not give any discount on the repair, nor waive any labor fees or parts. I can’t believe they would do this to a new customer. Now I will have to pay over $1,700.00 for my car to be fixed. What really upsets me is that they would make a mistake diagnosing the issue, and not care to make it right or help in any way. They said the most they’d do is not charge me for checking the car a second time! I will not be going back to them EVER again. Please be warned; they will make you do irrelevant repairs than what you actually need, and will nickel-&-dime-you as much as possible. Save time and money 💵 GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I can not THANK German Motors enough... especially Elizabeth!!! I ran up on the curb when parking. When I backed out, it pulled off some of the bumper & fender. My husband called around in EDH and was quoted $1500-$3000 and our car wouldn’t be ready for 5 days. German Motors got my husband in right away, it was fixed in less than an hour and I can’t even say how extremely little they charged us... basically “nothing!” We will no longer be taking our car to the Audi dealer! We will be taking our car to German Motors... THANK YOU again 😊

Scott at German Motors has taken great care of my “old lady,” a ‘91 350 Turbo Diesel like it is his own. It’s a rare find to get a mechanic that actually cares about the longevity of your vehicle and about your safety in it. He gets why I continue to piece her back together and why I choose to continue driving a vehicle with nearly 185k miles on it rather than giving in for something newer.Scott gives me timely estimates, and calls if there are any surprises. He goes over everything with me so I understand why something needs to be done. I really can’t say enough good things about him and the rest of the staff.It’s truly a shop that cares about what they do and takes pride in their business and it shows.🙌🏼🙌🏼Side note, yet equally important in my day: They have fresh coffee with real creamer (not that weird powdered nonsense). And actual snacks. As in real food to hold you over. Bags of nuts, Clif bars, real food in the waiting area. Sometimes it’s the little things that I appreciate most. 🙌🏼🙌🏼

My car was towed to German Motors after my motor burned up due to a leak at the seam in my radiator. After my motor was replaced, for some odd reason, the replacement motor wasnt working properly. This malfunction caused this replacement motor to burn up while I was on my way to have my car smog tested. Not being a mechanic, I called German Motors up right away. They had my car towed back to check the motor out and to see what happened. Without any hesitation, Steve, the Owner of German Motors and Ralph, who I purchased the motor from at German Motors, apologized for what really was not their fault, but Steve, the CEO of German Motors, took full responsibility and replaced my motor with a second motor for no extra cost. German Motors did a very thorough job on my car and this new replacement motor was covered under the 6 month warranty that they gave me. Since I picked it up from their facility on May 20, 2013, I have driven my car around for almost 1,000 miles and I can honestly say MY CAR DRIVES LIKE A NEW CAR. The fact that German Motors took full responsibility and fixed my car in such a professional way with such a great attitude and no extra cost to me DEMONSTRATES THAT GERMAN MOTORS IS ONE OF THE MOST REPUTABLE AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR COMPANIES IN THE SACRAMENTO AREA and NEEDS TO BE RECOGNIZED BY THE COMMUNITY FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING SERVICES AND ATTITUDE. Excellent staff and place to work with! As a Volkswagen owner you cant just go anywhere, but, fortunately weve got GM! Scott at the front is nothing less than extremely helpful, attentive, and flexible with your needs, and their maintenance crew is truly efficient.My story is long but Ill keep it short-- I came in for an oil change knowing that (but hoping not) the oil pan itself might have been shot on my 04 Touareg, and of course, that ended up being the case. Typically a $3,000 job, Scott understood my frustration and professionally worked with me to get me home that night in a loaner to think it over and discuss the next day. After weighing my options I decided the job simply needed done, so I gave him a call and okayd the job. Scott called me back not long after and provided me with some further options to potentially improve my costs (big plus here), and over the weekend I was not without a car, which I cannot stress the gratitude I have for their reliable loaners.My car ended up being done the following Monday (this all began on a Thursday), which was what Scott had originally estimated, even though I anticipated longer. When I arrived Scott gave me a great rundown of the repairs that were done and.... Wait for it... Gave me my final cost which was nicely BELOW what I was expecting to pay. My situation was probably one of the rare exceptions to some things, but given the circumstances it was nothing short of a miracle. German Motors will now be my go-to for basically all my repairs. Thank you to all the staff there, especially Mr. Scott as he sincerely does care and strives to understand your needs. At the very least if you have a German car that is finicky every where else, you should go here first. Their quality reflects their prices, but in the ways you want them to.

Didnt fix my problem after paying over a thousand buck, lend me a loaner vehicle that had an expired registration and Scott had a very dismissive and uncaring attitude. Will never do business with these people ever again.

I trust German Motors with both our cars, Lexus RX350 and CT200h. I was one of those people that held the perception that only Lexus the Dealership can take care of our family cars. I paid financially to keep that perception in place and Lexus Dealership just got more and more unreasonable. I know some of you might say - Yeah buts a Lexus and I will tell you that is my point. German Motors created the perfect balance between maintaining both our family cars without paying outrageous premium pricing. German Motors still does premium pricing and rightfully so because they deliver equal if not better care for our cars. My challenge to anyone with a BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche or whatever luxury brand car you have is to try it - maybe just maybe your branded dealership is not all that its cracked up to be. So, challenge your perceptions - you will be so glad you did. My cars are in excellent condition because of German Motors especially the pre-notice of future things to watch out for that will need attention. Good luck.

My wife took her car here for some body work. Elizabeth assured my wife that German Motors would resolve all insurance issues directly with other motorist insurer . On a separate note, my wife had asked about getting a scratch fixed as well. The body work that was preformed was hardly up to satisfaction. Then on the additional “scratch” repair, a quote was never given, consent to do the work wasn’t given, yet when she went to pick up her mercedez, she was told by SCOTT (the manager) she is to pay approx $667.00 or she could t pick up her car. It has been over a month of waiting for someone to figure out how to refund the money that was never agreed upon or given consent to do. We have emails of ELIZABETH instructing my wife to file a claim with her insurance company, and they would in return give my wife the $1000 deductible... insurance fraud? DONT DO BUSINESS here

FROM A HAPPY CLIENT FOR 7 YEARSI got tired of paying dealers prices for repairs at Neillo after my warranty expired so in 2009 I switched to my neighborhood repair shop. Everything seemed to cost $600 a pop at Neillo but the same repairs cost $400 at German Motors. They do regular maintenance and take care of any bigger issues on MY schedule and Ive never waited more than a day or two to get my car back.Steve and the guys take excellent care of my 2001 BMW 325i. It looks and runs great even with 126K miles. They tell me it should make it to 200K easily.I especially like that I can drop in for a headlamp replacement or other alarm light issue and they greet me by name and usually take care of it while I wait. I have recommended German Motors to friends and we agree that they are the best and most trustworthy mechanics we have ever found.
