Great working with Deb at Parr in Salem. Kitchen cabinets came earlier than expected and all in excellent condition. No issues at all at any step of the way. Decided to go with Parr after seeing the great job they did on my neighbors kitchen. Will work with them again on future projects.

Called to check on product availability. I was having a hard time hearing the man who answered the phone. I let him know and he told me to check my phone. My volume was up as far as it would go, and the hold music was loud enough... 🤷‍♀️ he was rude. And I wont be calling back again in the future, I will go with a different lumber company. ✌ dont be rude to females.

I love parr lumber because they are very helpful and well priced. Some other lumber companies were speaking badly about them when I was getting take offs from all the lumber yards and honestly they were the only ones who didn’t bad mouth their competitors. I gave them a try and I have now bought two buildings worth of material from them and it’s great quality stuff. I plan on buying my other building material from them as well.Simply if you’re looking for great quality and fair prices then this is your place, but if you want someone to hold your hand through the whole process then another place may be what you want. The places like withers lumber are more expensive because what you’re really paying for is the custom customer experience where you get all the frills. I hope this helps.

I want to make sure that Ernest gets the recognition he deserves as a perfect example of what customer service should be like. Even though the store was busy, instead of rushing me, he spent the necessary time to look up what I was looking for and to make sure that he was ordering exactly what I needed.As if that wasnt enough, when he was told my order was going to be a week or two before I would receive it, he looked at other distributors and found one that had it here in half the time !Thank you for all of your help !!!!

So I called on a Wednesday to ask if there was a unit of lumber ready. They told me theyd order it to the location; and itd be in by 10am on Thursday. Sounded perfect. So I went in that afternoon to pick it up; only to find out they dont even get a truck in until Friday, but they offered to deliver it to the site. So now Ive lost a full day on the project. So its now 2pm and I havent received any lumber, or the call that I was expecting for a delivery window. First they tell me its out for delivery; and I ask why we didnt receive the call to say its on its way. Then they tell me its NOT out for delivery but will be on the next truck; expected delivery between 3pm and 6pm. So now Ive lost most of two days on this project and still dont have lumber yet.Im hoping the product is better than theyve been throughout this process so I dont have any more delays. Ill hold my breath.

Great prices, knowledgeable staff, hit or miss with customer service. I asked someone for help who didnt know and instead of taking ownership and getting me the help I needed, he said I could ask someone at the front. I mentioned it to the people at the front and they barely acknowledged and when I pressed the issue, they ignored and didnt respond and continue to help me with my product search instead of acknowledging my issue with the service.

Went the extra mile and more to help ensure my load was secure. Plus a great price on a length of wood that I couldnt find anywhere.

While its not setup to be self-serve like Lowes, this place offers knowledgeable staffing, quality products and has items you cant get at a big box retailer.

If you plan on doing any project make sure you know exactly the material you need because their return policy in Salem is crap and staff is not much better.I bought Trex decking and fascia boards from them which they delivered on boards that I brought the decking back to them on, so I could get a different size fascia board.When I returned them, a man in the yard had to inspect them to say they were okay, which he rejected two even though I never used those boards at all and they were kept in the stack.He told me that if the vendor saw one that had a scratch they would reject the whole lot of them. One of them did have quite a few scratches, but not by me. The other one you could littlerally barely see a scratch on, yet they still said they wouldnt take them back.I went inside to get my refund for the boards they did accept and the guy at the counter told me that he couldnt give me a refund until they called the vendor to come out to tell them that they would accept the boards and then they would call me to tell me what my refund is.I told the guy at the counter that it was unacceptable and I would never do business with them again and he just said okay and hopefully we get the vendor out soon and walked up to his desk behind the counter.They have not only lost my business now and the additional $10,000 I was planning on spending there, but my future business as well. Youre better off to go to one of the big stores Home Depot or Lowes. At least there, they wont give you a hassle and at like you business means nothing to them if you have product you need to return and get more of something else. They went from a five-star to a one-star never again will I go back.

If youre looking for quality tools and hardware or need some material for your DIY projects Parr is definitely the place to go.

This smallish store has an amazing array of high quality wood products along with tools and accessories for the do-it-yourselfers. You can even find the appropriate gas for your small machines, i.e., lawnmowers, etc. Plenty of parking and personalized attention completes the picture.

My family and I were planning on pricing and replacing two windows in our newly bought 3000 sq. ft home and eventually going to upgrade the rest of the windows using Parr lumber but the window specialist we talked to Carol Black was extremely rude and unprofessional towards us. She is the reason why we decided to use a different company for our needs. For this reason also we will be not recommending this company to all of our contractor friends as well.

Im a carpenter Bought a pair of Occidental bags less than 30 days started coming apart. Took my receipt in an they told me nothimg they could do. I definitely wont spend my hard earned $ there again. I will buy from amazon where I cam get replaced.
