The staff is phenomenal they always bring good customer service to the table. Just bear in mind that some of the things that you could do yourself or a little bit spendy but that being said you definitely get your moneys worth with these folks you unfortunate part that I have found is if something goes wrong after they fixed it and you dont have any proof or talk to the previous person that fixed it youre kind of SOL but thats to be expected.

Came in 10 minutes before close looking for a new stem, sales clerk helped me immediately then employee with big beard installed it immediately and provided other fixes to help fit my bike better to me free of cost, an absolutely stellar experience. Great shop with friendly staff! Bike Feels great!

I LOVE the Highlander Bike Shop! I have had only the BEST experiences there. Doug, the owner, is AWESOME!!! He is patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. I bought a jogger stroller there and was very pleased with his assistance in helping me to find just the right one, the excellent price, and the quality of the stroller. I jogged daily with three babies in that stroller over a decade, and it worked just as well for my last baby as it did for my first. I have taken my bikes there over the years for repairs, and I am always pleased with the friendly, quick service. I have always been impressed with Dougs integrity. Doug is honest to the core! If he has erred it has been in my favor!!! Doug treats me and my family with so much respect, honesty, and helpfulness, I WONT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

These guys are top notch. I love that the no frills layout and everyone there is super easy going and honest. They arent trying to up sell you into high end bikes that have technology that is above your abilities. Not everyone needs carbon everything.

I went in today to purchase a new Haro mountain bike, but unfortunately I was approached by an employee who clearly hated the fact that he had to help a paying customer, his whole demeanor screamed out horrible customer service and I totally understand that he may have had a long day however it is not a solid excuse to dismiss kindly helping me to purchase a bike. After I told him that I wanted to purchase a new bike he looked at me and said that the shop was closed as of right now, and we are not seeing anyone again until tomorrow. I had called earlier to double check their hours and the shop closes at 6 PM and it was only 530PM when this happened. What a disgraceful way to handle a potential paying customer, horrible customer service and lack of care for a potential purchase and due to these reasons i will never take my business there again. I immediately went into a different Bike shop in Sugarhouse and they were extremely helpful and were actually happy to help me purchase a brand new bike this evening. I believe that this pandemic is stressing out people in different ways HOWEVER, COVID 19 is affecting EVERYONE in the community NOT just employees who work at this workshop. Sorry not sorry.

Just bought my first commuter bike from Highlander bike. Staff was great to work with. I told him my budget first, then he asked what my needs were. He ended up recommending a bike hundreds of dollars below my budget (almost half). Accessories were on par with online prices. Honest people and good information.

Everyone at Highlander Bike Shop is knowledgeable & courteous. I have purchased 4 bikes from them so far for myself, wife, & kids and I wouldnt hesitate to buy another when the time warrants it. They are always polite and down to earth, and will take the time necessary to explain options to you. If you like to be pushed into buying something more expensive than what you want/need then go somewhere else because they will only make suggestions, and will oblige you with whatever you decide. Seriously, if you are looking for a bike priced $500-$5,000, stop here first.

This is Nancys husband Phil, I have used these guys several times. They are a small bike shop, and you may have to wait a minuet for service, but the prices are better than the big shops, and the service dept. so far has been very good. I would recommend them without hesitation.

I moved to Utah a few months ago, and found this shop right away. They have done quality maintenance and repair work on my mountain bike since then, and I just bought a new mountain bike for my son there. Max was very helpful, and they gave me a great deal. Better than what I was finding online for the same bike.

Love this bike shop. You walk in and know that it is run by real bicyclists. It is definitely not like one of those big box sports stores or one of the bike showrooms where all they want to do is sell you a new bike. These guys know bikes. Ive bought a few bikes here in the past, which all lasted until they were stolen. Its a little out of my way now but when I need new parts or accessories, this is where I try to go. I like supporting the local independent bike stores like this one, the prices Ive always found to be comparable to online. Also you dont have to wait for shipping when you have a flat. The guys know their stuff and give top notch service, theyve been around for a long time so really can fix just about anything with a bike.

Really disappointed in the service, attitude, and lack of knowledge during our brief stop in. I originally wrote a 6 paragraph breakdown of what happened but decided lets keep this short.We came in for a 3 minute mechanical fix for a broken valve core. What is a brief fix, we were told this would take 4 days to get fixed. In the process of buying the replacement part, I did the mechanical fix myself as it took a time warping 2 minutes to swap out the broken valve.I assume it was the shop mechanic, but presumably the owner he was rude and disrespectful, and treated us as if we were unwelcomed. We bought a tube, pump and valve that had we not been in a rush, we would have gone elsewhere.I have been in the cycling industry for over 20+ years, and never been treated with such hostility. Maybe he was just having a bad day, who knows, but as a representative to the cycling world I give him a fail at best. Fortunately I dont live near this shop, but for anyone who does I would recommend going elsewhere.Unless of course you want your tube slimed as that is apparently the greatest thing to have ever existed in this mechanic narrow mind.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Given I cant respond to your review. I will leave you with this, we came into your store for a mechanical fix and you made us felt very unwelcome and as if we were a complete burden. As someone who works in a small business, and deals with customers everyday in the same industry as yours, I stand by everything I said in my earlier review. No matter how busy we at our retail shop, we try to go above and beyond to make sure every customer feels welcome and their needs addressed. Both myself and colleague left Highlander Bike with distaste for the way we felt treated.

Let start out with these guys are awesome and laid back. There are other shops in town that make you feel like you are a piece of junk if you arent preparing for the Tour de France on your $10,000 rig. This is not one of those shops. These guys are nice and you can tell they just love bikes and those who ride them, not just some pretentious idea of what cycling should be.There is room for improvement though, I wont go into details because that would be unfair. Fix some minor communication issues and this would be five stars.

I bought a bike here two years ago and Ive been back several times for tune ups and gear. They just tuned up my bike and it is riding like new.Unlike many other bike shops, these guys dont make you feel cheap for not wanting a $5,000 bike and they dont treat you like youre stupid or try to take advantage of you if you youre not a bike expert. I always leave feeling like Im getting exactly what I need and for a good price. These guys love what they do and it shows.

We were given great information regarding the items we were inquiring about but we werent ready to purchase anything. We thanked him for his time and information and when we were walking away he got all upset about us wasting his time and made some snide remarks. Having gone to the Highlander on a regular basis over the last few years, i wanted to again share my commendation of this often overlooked bike shop.I race road locally, some cross, and regularly ride every mountain trail along the Wasatch. Ive been biking for the last 15 years and have been to a good many shops in the western US.The shop manager here at the Highlander (Max) is top notch. Always one to greet with a high five and a smile, Max is just one of many employees who embody what the Highlander has become. The service is great, and they do a great job at looking after your bike, when many other shops charge way more and do way less for your bike. Even though their focus is bargain deal mid to low end, its great to be able to find a deal on a last years closeout on a reliable brand. Ive ridden, raced and thrashed many a Raleigh, Masi and Jamis over the years, and have always gotten a good deal from the guys at the Highlander, with exceptional work to follow and keep me rolling fast!

I was in a pinch and needed a tire repaired stat! I phoned John (sp?) and he told me to bring the tire in. Not only did he repair the tube while I waited (7 minutes for repair), but the price was fantastic. I highly recommend this business for bicycle purchase and/or repair.

If I could I would give Highlander Bike 6 stars! I commute everyday to salt lake city from Layton via front runner and on the trip to work today, I had ran over a screw making my bicycle completely useless. I wasnt able to get the bike to the shop until 10 minutes until they closed. The manager Max Moffat went above and beyond my expectations. Its my hope this family owned business stays opens for at least another 30+ years.

Dont expect any service, let alone be acknowledged when you enter.. An employee sat less than 5 feet away while i looked for shoes to buy and said nothing while I looked through all their boxes. Thankfully the bike shop a block away knows customer service.

Worst service I have ever had a shop of any kind. 3 of 4 added components were not Compatible with the existing components or System. It took them 4 tries 6 weeks and I had to fix it myself because it was still not right. Then I was accused of wasting their time.
