This is my favorite bike shop in SLC and any city in the west. Not only the best customer service I’ve ever encountered in a bike shop, but they also offer the best prices on bike labor AND the fastest turn around on bike work. While other shops have multi week backlogs for bike maintenance; Bicycle Center will try to fix your bike on the spot, if not will be done in a day or two max. Simply amazing during this bike boom and they do such high quality work.They offer some of the best deals in the valley on new bikes as well. Something I wasn’t expecting with such a nice location, but have been pleasantly surprised.Thank you Chad, Adam, Anthony, and Elliot!

Don’t normally do reviews but decided this time I would. I purchased a new bike from this place last year. Nothing special bike, just a cruiser and from day one the people I’ve worked with here have been and seemed disinterested, and a bit arrogant.Full disclosure, not a big bicycle enthusiast and not in the best physical shape, nonetheless, these guys (the ones I’ve dealt with) could not seem any less interested. I’ve been in a total of 6 times and each time I wonder why I go back. Service after the sale is poor, customer service is poor, attitude is poor. Won’t be going back for the e bike.Went to Bingham to ask a simple question and remembered why I bought my first specialized mountain bike there in 1994. Nice guys.The reason for the two stars is that one service guy was actually pretty decent to work with on a warranty issue, unfortunately I didn’t get his name.

They did an awesome job building a custom bike for me. Dakota was extremely helpful. The shop is really clean and friendly staff.

My favorite bike shop in SLC! Service is always great. I went in to look at trailer hitch mounted bike racks, and Alex was super helpful. Because he owns the model I was interested in, he offered to let me place my bike on his own rack in the parking lot, to test it for fit and function. I consider that top notch service. They also have about the best inventory around, even in the current difficult times when most shops are struggling to stay stocked. I recommend Bicycle Center to anyone!

These guys are great. I attempted to fix some issues myself, which led to more issues. I brought my bike in with a beat ego, feeling rather frustrated. They took in my bike and its parts, no questions asked. They not only put it back together for me for less than $20, they gave it a much needed and very reasonably priced tune up.They even gave me some tips for next time I try to fix an issue myself. Quality guys here. Definitely coming back for my next tune up.

I purchased a road bike from the bicycle center and I have been extremely pleased with their service and ability to help me since the purchase. I will continue to use them. When I serviced my bike it only took 3 business days

Brought my bike here for a tune and new derailleur cables. I specifically mentioned that the bottom bracket creaked and the tech said that would be fixed.After the “tune” my bottom bracket still creaks. The front derailleur also rubs the chain. These things should have been noticed by a tech with a quick test ride after the bike was serviced.I have also brought in a specialized for a tune and to get the future shock headset adjusted. The headset immediately came loose again after it was adjusted by the shop. I brought it back in and then it was over tightened to the point that the steering was sticky. A few YouTube videos later and I was able to get it properly adjusted myself.

In a time where just having a bike in stock is reason enough to hit up a store, the Bicycle Center team was kind, helpful, and attentive. They even had a bike ready for me to test drive when I called ahead!

My first time in the bike shop and I was politely greeted. The guy who helped me was very nice and humble. He answered all my questions and didnt hesitate to take any bikes down to show me. He kindly let me take about 6 bikes for a test ride. And I finally found the bike for me and will be purchasing from there.

I did some major damage to my road bike and my little town in NM could not help me out, nor was any shop in Santa Fe able to repair my bike. Fortunately, I had to head to Salt Lake City, and I was turned on to the Bicycle Center. I had my bike to them at 4 p.m one day, and they had my bike totally fixed, and tuned up, by 11:30 a.m. the following day! Kudos to Adam and Chad! You guys rock big time! Thanks again for your help!

I bought a great bike and a Tuhle bike rack from The Bicycle Center a few years ago. I have experienced excellent customer service ever since. Just today I went in and Eliott helped me to make some adjustments to my bike rack so that it is better secured on the back of my car. He would not take a tip and he spent a long time adjusting and readjusting my rack so that it is good to go. His patience and talent and excellent service is much appreciated!

Not sure exactly how this shop stays in business. Ive been in a few times, all with pretty poor interaction with staff. Most of the staff is impersonable and dont seem interested in actually engaging with you. I also recently had a spoke replaced by them. Less than an hour into a ride with the repaired rim, a spoke on the same rim broke (I rarely break spokes). I took it back, and without hesitation they charged me again to have the spoke replaced.. when asked about it, the justification was that it could have been another spoke. Sure, but it also could have been the same spoke or an issue with how they tensioned the wheel. Rather than show good faith and err on the side customer judgement, they brushed off my perspective and took a cut and dry stance to try and squeeze a little profit, that will deter me from going back. What business does that? Theres 5 shops within 5 miles of here that will provide you 10x better service.

Customer service sucks, went in to ask a simple question and no body bothers to help me or answer my questions. Never will I return.

Bicycle Center is my go to bike shop. Chad is the store manager and always greets me by name when I walk. Adam does a great job tuning up my bike and the experience is always all around great.A quick anecdote, today was my first time riding the Crest this season. I have a season pass for the Crest and have a lot of rides scheduled over the next week. I could tell there was an air bubble in my rear brake. I took into the guys at Bicycle Center.You can pick it up on Thursday. said Chad.But Im riding the crest at 5:30 am on Thursday! I exclaimed.Chad calmly, then it will be done tomorrow.By the time I ran a quick errand, got home made a sandwich and sat down to my WFH setup I had an email from Chad saying my bike was ready for pick up.Anyhoo, I appreciate these guys and the service they provide.I

Amazing service! Gave me exactly what I needed. I will never go anywhere else but here.I always hesitate going to bike shops, in fear they will overcharge for service and parts. (Which has been my experience in the past). Not here! The associate took me and my bike into shop where I could see him fix a few things. He even showed me what to do in the future on my own and offered some tips on how to keep it running better. So great! Exceeded my expectations and changed my opinion of bike shops.

I just bought a Gravel bike from Bicycle Center last week. The front derailleur got tweaked somehow on my first ride and the chain was rubbing noticeably in most gears. I couldnt fix it, and was planning a long ride the following day. I called them up half an hour before they close and asked if they could take a look at it and they were happy to. I brought it back in and they fixed the problem which made for a great ride the following day!!! Thanks!!

Mountain bike was stolen and rack permanently made dysfunctional during the process in Moab UT. Bicycle Center had what I was looking for in stock, with the addition of great service, to get me on the trails again as I traveled across the US. Only wish they were located in my new home town. I looked at brands like SE bikes, Framed, Fuji, All-City, etc. Because this shop carries mostly Specialized bicycles, I looked at which one I wanted online and called in to check if it was in stock. The employees there are very kind and helpful. Bicycle Center had what I wanted and they are great with customers. If there are any questions you have, they will be answered. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants a quality bike and desires to be informed about their decision. Great service!

When I first got into biking I visited a lot of bike shops around the valley. The Bicycle Center was easily the shop with the best service and caring employees. I have now been a customer for threee years and continue to get the same excellent service as if I was buying a bike for the first time.I would highly recommend coming in and getting to know the staff. They installed a new headset and it was lose. Caused Some damage. The front brake came back lose and faulty. The cassette on the back was lose making the chain fall behind the wheel and cassette. They failed to give the whole bike a rundown and fix any problems. This was poor services I’m not taking my bike back to these guys.

I could not have better things to say about my experience with the service and variety of products at the Bicycle Center. Whether they were working with an inexperienced cyclist(me) or other advanced riders around the store, these guys were easy to talk to and work with. They seem to love what they do, and it shows in how they take care of their customers.

I bought my first road bike during the blow-out sale near Costco. They had one staff and a volunteer who were there to help me through every step of the process. They were extremely patient and let me take the bike home for an hour or so of riding to make sure it was exactly what I wanted before I made the purchase. Definitely coming back!

The staff are amazingly helpful and walked me through what bike would best suit my needs (as a very overweight woman who hasnt been on a bike in 30 years, their help was invaluable). I never felt judged about my lack of knowledge or anything else. They helped me get the right bike AND they delivered it to my house since it didnt fit into my car. I love this place!

I bought two Specialized bikes from Phil last year, several accessories, a bike rack, and have had a good experience every time I went in. Every person on the staff has been good to me, and my wife has been in a few times as well and she tells me they always treat her well. I like that the owner is usually available in the shop, not at home letting someone else do the work for him. I think the shop is overall pretty down to earth, laid back, and still hard working and professional. Its a good place to go if youre not super knowledgeable about the whole industry because they really will take some time and teach and help you with your questions. They did for us. Highly recommend.

I have been going to Bicycle Center for over 25 years now, and there is a good reason for that. Their service is top notch! I dare you to find a shop that has more experience than Kenny. They have a broad selection of products; from simple stuff for my kids, to high(er)-end items for me and the racing crowd. Really a great place to go and get outfitted and be ready for the trail or road. Sure, bad stuff comes off the assembly line every once and a while, but Phil and the staff will get that all resolved quickly. One of my favorite places around! I dont hesitate recommending them 100%.

Not sure who helped me chose my bike but the young guy was knowledgeable. After purchase I came back wanting to return it because the seat was hard and gave my backache. He suggested instead of changing the bike to switch to a new cushioned seat for back problems and it worked. I could ride for hours with no pain. Unfortunately not long after the replacement my bike got stolen from the garage. I remember him explaining how the serial numbers work and how to register it with the police. I’m leaving this review because he was honest enough to tell me that no security locks will be of any use because even the most thick bars can be cracked in minutes by a professional thief. He was right, Too bad. If I decide to get another bike ill come back here.

I am back to change my review from a 1 star. Maybe I was a little harsh. I took my daughters bike in right before a race for a tune up. After they trued the wheels they put the rear axel in but did not screw it in tight. Maybe it rattled loose. But I doubt it. It came loose in not very many miles. It came loose and she crashed on the race course. If you have a 14 year old girl that crashes, you might understand how I may have left harsh review. But I did not think it was fair to leave the rest of the story untold. I did take the bike back and Chad fixed the hub at no charge and refunded my tune up. So they did their best to make it right.Original review below Store manager is a good guy. But service was horrifying how bad it was. The bikes worked better before they were dropped off. Took a couple bikes in for a tune up before a race. Our daughter said bike grinds now and did not before. Second bike was way worse. Headset was loose and not fixed. Also the rear skewer fell out of second bike mid race causing a crash and ruined bike. Got the bikes back day before race and just trusting that they would be ready. Bottom line, Don’t take your bikes here to get tuned up for a race. Just fix your own bike. Because better than taking it here. And will save you a couple hundred dollars. Cost me a bunch of money to make my bike worse. The skewers are through axel, the kind screw in and then close.

Ive dealt with a couple of different bike stores over the years and Bicycle Center has by far been the best. The staff here is very knowledgable and they made me feel like a valued customer even at the level of riding that I am at. It was a great place to do business and I wouldnt hesitate to come back!

There are a plethora of bike shops in Utah but this is one of the best. The selection is great as the specialize in Specialized bicycles which are my favorite. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and they clearly love what they do!

Great service, selection - staff are helpful too. Parking is great. They are in a big temporary location for about a year while thier new building gets built (in original location). Have some cool ebikes (a Specialized dealer) and pretty deep parts selection.

Last fall I bought my road bike from Bicycle Center. They were great and patient with me while I figured out what it was I wanted- even though it took a while and many stops to the shop. I finally decided on a Ruby Comp and love it. They got it all tuned up for me and ready to go. Naturally this year, when I wanted to get a new mtn bike, they were my first stop. I test road a lot of bikes. The sales people were very helpful and guided me to the best bike for my needs and budget.All of the sales associates are very knowledgable. I get great service every time I go in to have something adjusted on my bike, and overall the pricing is fair (compared to other shops).I just wish they carried higher end womens bike apparel.

My friend and I started walking about a month ago. Using my jogging stroller for my son.While doing so 2 of the tires became damaged due to some thorns. So I decided that I was probably going to have to order them online.. but one day as I drove by I saw the Bycicle Center, so I stopped by. They hooked me up and installed my new inner tubes. Much better than getting them online and the guys were very friendly. Hopefully I wont be back with this stroller but if needed you can bet I will come here first! :)

This place was so great. As a person coming into the sport, I didnt feel intimidated or get blown off like I have at some other local bike shops. They were so willing to work with me from the moment I walked in the door. Phil and Chad both have helped me a bunch, thank you. I have been paying visits to the Bicycle Center for years; since I was a kid, actually. Theyve been in their current location since 1986, round about the time I recall going there for the first time.In the last few years, I have gone in for many reasons. I have test rode a bike and though I ended up not buying that bike, and I have bought plenty of other goods, namely saddles and tires. Ive had them true wheels and generally do work that I can do, but often dont want to do (for lack of time, desire, or otherwise). At no time during those visits did I ever feel rushed or pressured. Furthermore, Chad is on of the few people Ive encountered in local shops that can actually advise me on things I cant just learn on my own via the web; hes been at it for a while.These experiences have lead me to refer many of my friends to the shop to purchase their own bikes and accessories. After a very positive experience recently, helping my girlfriend upgrade her road bike, I thought to myself, Ive found my shop and indeed I have; good advice, great service and customer service, and helpful staff...its hard to go wrong with the Bicycle Center.

Bought Globe bicycle, after 6 weeks a spoke broke. Took it in and found out it was not covered by the warranty. They fixed it and I rode it three miles and it broke again. They told me I put too much torque on the bike, and I should not be riding that type of bicycle. It was the one recommended by their salesman. I ride it on a bike path that follows the Jordan river. I took it to Masherzz in Woods Cross. They fixed it. The spoke had been laced wrong. Masherzz did not charge me the $25 that the Bicycle center did, they were just happy to help.

Update: The owner contacted me and remedied their error.Original Post 1 star: I thought after last year of taking a bike in for repair and not addressing a shifter cable being tightened that it was just a one time bad on them experience. However, I took 2 bikes in for tune ups last month. One bike included a brake repair. The bikes were with the shop for 2 weeks. The bike with the brake repair left with the same problem it went in with and the shop still billed me for repairing, which I refused to pay. This is the third and last time the Bicycle Center will service our bikes.

Went in recently to purchase a new mountain bike tire. I selected the tire and the sales person took it and said Ill be right back So i wandered around the store for a few moments when he returned with my tire all mounted up. Wow - thanks! Did not expect or request him to mount it for me. When I got to the check-out counter he charged me $15 for a service I did not request or would have ever paid for. When I protested (politely) he just gave me a blank stare. It would have been very easy for him to fix the situation by apologizing for the mis-understanding and not charge me $15 for the 5 minutes of his time, but he was unwilling. Paid for the tire, will never go back, sharing my terrible customer service experience with you. If youre in the market for a Specialized bike, instead go to Millcreek Cycles over on Wasatch Blvd. Great guys, super helpful, much better experience all around.

Exceptionally mediocre service. There seems to be a large disconnect between the mechanics and workers at the front. Every purchase Ive made at this store - a bike for my wife, myself and a buddy; has been met with indifference. Im a big fan of Specialized, but I wont seek this shop out unless every other dealer is closed that day.

A bit pricey for me. But they have a good selection. Specilized dealer.
