My boyfriends work van was not accelerating so I called different shops around my area and decided to go with AAMCO. They offered a free tow and estimate if you ended up using their services. We opted to move forward and Phil had our van ready in a couple of days. The price was reasonable which also included 18 months of warranty. My boyfriend says the van feels so much smoother and not as forced. From someone who was a little worried and didn’t know what shop to go to I think we did a good decision choosing this AAMCO.

Great experience here. We had an issue with our transmission and Phil was able to get our SUV fixed in short order. He explained the issue, diagnosed it, repaired knowing that we were about to take a long road trip. He took the extra care and time to ensure that we would have no issues and even booked a follow up for when we return from our trip. I highly recommend this location.

Having a older classic it is hard to find someone to help with its updates and repairs. It is so good to have a place to take it to where they understand these types of cars and trucks the same as last years models. They treat my car like it is their own. No job has been to small or to large for them to help me on. It is great to deal with a family type of business instead of a corporation. Always professional while still being very friendly. Honest is good to find in todays world.

Picked up my truck with a remanufactured torque converter and rebuilt transmission ala aamco.On the way home it was whooping and bucking.Went straight back to aamco without stopping.Oh! Sorry they said.Well take care of itMaybe its just me but for $4,000 I would expect every detail to be taken care of prior to being called to say your truck is ready.Probably wont ever come back to aamco.

My daughters Nissan Titan truck wouldnt go into gear, so took it to AAMCO at 5960 NW Loop 410 in San Antonio Tx, to see if someone could look at it and tell us what the problem was. We were greeted by a technician named Phil who took the time to explain everything in detail to us about what was going on with the truck and what his recommendations were for fixing the problem...The trucks transmission needed to be replaced. I just got my car serviced here. I had to get the exhaust manifold w/ catalytic Converter replaced. I was skeptical bc of the reviews from other customers and during the initial visit there was a slight miscommunication that I wasn’t to happy about it at first but overall in 2 days my 2010 Nissan Altima is back on the road again!! I had multiple oil leaks on my Chevy Tahoe and couldnt afford getting them all repaired at once. Phil made me an offer I couldnt refuse. I took the transmission to get it fixed at AAMCO. the transmission broke 7 months later. AAMCO knows there shop are not reliable which is why they only have a 90 warranty. If i was looking to get my transmission done. there are other shops that are more reliable an offer a better warranty.

By chance I decided to take my car here over my dealership down the street. Although the dealership wouldve gotten it done faster, they would have charged much more than AAMCO. Phil was awesome and walked me through all the repairs to make sure I knew what was happening (which is something my dealership rushes through) and kept me in the loop with the timeframe. Also, they had an issue with a vendor which affected my car. AAMCO did the right thing and compensated me for my rental even though it wasnt their fault. No questions asked. Super experience with this AAMCO Shop. I would like to say they really know what they are doing and take the time to explain everything in detail, maybe too much detail. The manager is extremely pleasant and friendly. I did have some technical questions about my repair that he did not have the answer to, but he let me speak to their lead tech, Nacho I think his name is. He is a quite knowledgeable automotive technician and explained everything to me about the repair and what I could expect from it. I not only found a great automotive repair shop but good friends as well.

I really like this auto shop. They are really nice and seem knowledgeable. My car had a check engine light on and I figured I get AAMCO to check it out. I saw that they had a sign that offered a free check engine light check. They checked it out for me and determined that I had left my gas cap loose. Did not charge me anything and advised me to turn the gas cap till I hear it click three times from now on. I felt bad that they didnt charge me anything so I let them do an oil change for me. In and out quickly with absolutely no hassles.

Very happy with my experience with this shop. My transmission died on a Saturday after hours. Shawn arranged a tow truck to get it to the shop and met my dad there when everyone else was gone. Within a week my transmission was re-built. Shawn has been great at speaking to my dad about every detail and dime that is involved. Very upfront about warranty and future upkeep. My father and I are very pleased and would recommend.

I took my car here cause it had a lot of good google reviews. They were friendly and family oriented they took my car in told me it needed a water pump and oil change paid 654 in parts in labor they told me the car was good to go here I am driving my car not more then a hour same thing happened car didnt want to start called them the next day told the what was happening got it towed in the shop they got to work cleaning something in under the hood it started again fine but same thing happened took it back and now its the computer. Dont come here I trusted them and they let me down. They will poke your eyes and will take your arm and leg.

I did not know what was wrong with my car, and I contacted AAMCO in the morning to see if they had time to check it out. They were very welcoming and tested it to find out more. I was then quoted a price and found out about what was causing my car not to accelerate properly. Early in the afternoon I got a call saying it was fixed! I am grateful for their help and the car ride they gave me to my home while they worked on it.

AAMCO has the reputation for great service at a fair price. They serviced my transmission and did a FREE multi-point inspection. During the inspection they found an issue with the A/C system and fixed the problem. The service manager Gary was very helpful and kept me informed thoughout the repair process. I will consider going back to this shop again for routine maintenance.

I would just like to publicly thank all the fine young men who work at this AAMCO Transmission location in San Antonio. They all seemed so nice and professional. They did a wonderful job repairing the noise my car was making. I had taken it to another transmission shop where I was told I needed to have the transmission rebuilt for a cost of $2500. I was not comfortable with how they addressed checking my car or how they spoke to me. I felt I might be taken advantage of and decided I needed a second opinion. I sure am glad I did this. It saved me hundreds of dollars. They checked my car here and determined my front wheel bearing was making the noise and not the transmission. I had them fix the wheel bearing and my noise is completely gone. I was surprised that they even got it done the same day. I will certainly recommend this AAMCO Transmission auto service center to all my friends. Thanks again and great job.

I was having car problems and friend recommended me to this transmission shop. I spoke with the the manager here and he recommended their free check. They checked it for free and diagnosed the problem as a faulty sensor in my transmission. My surprise I did not need a rebuilt transmission, they could fix it with just the sensor and fluid service. That was six months ago and my car is still running good. I have finally found an auto repair shop I can trust not to charge for something I dont need and will do quality repairs.

Marcus was very friendly and informative. I felt if they did the work needed it would be professional and trustworthy. I felt very confident that the job would be done correctly. I will feel good about going back when I need something done.

I recently had a terrible experience with AAMCO. They claimed to fix my transmission but my check engine light kept coming on, after taking the car back five times within a two week period the manager just admitted they dont know why the light is on. I felt all along that they did not have the competence, equipment and knowledge to fix my car and most importantly were not truthful about it. I have since taken my car to the dealer, got my transmission fixed and no more check engine light on. Did it cost me? Yes, but I have a car that runs fine and most of all, piece of mind. At the end of the day I paid AAMCO $2,600 for a transmission they never fixed and never got any of that money back. Think twice before using AAMCO to fix your transmission!!!!! Dont be fooled thinking AAMCO saves you money! They dont!!!

This location is great! They fixed the issue I was having within five minutes! I will definitely go to this aamco location from now on. I went to the speedway/Nw loop 410 location and had a rebuild done but after noticing something was off I repeatedly talked to the manager and he said everything was fine and it was normal. But I Knew it wasn’t and took a chance at going to this location... As soon as I started explaining the issue to Phil and his guy he said it was not normal. He offered to look at it and he came back five minutes later with the issue resolved! 🤗 again thank you so much Phil, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

Terrible customer service, and staff is being rude over the phone. Got a call from Bill right before the moving date that the cargo van reserved well in advance was no longer available. He also said he couldnt find a replacement in the area, which was patently false. Inventory manager found one less than 10 miles away.

I bought a 2007 Chevrolet Impala that needed some repair, got a good price on it. I called up the guys at AAMCO they arranged a tow service pickup, after a quick diagnostic and an estimate; I decided to have the car repaired, they told me that it would be about 3 days because they were busy, two days later it was ready, the car also had a broken motor mount which they brought to my attention, I went by the shop to take a look, because that is what I do, Then gave the go ahead to replace the moteor mount and that was replace. This is something you dont see very often anymore. Great customer service. Thanks to the AAMCO team Rigsby @ I-410. I highly recommend these professional to all my friends and family.

My car quit running on my way to school and left me stranded on I10. I didnt know what to do so I googled Transmission repair and found this place. I sure am glad I did. The manager was extremely helpful and got my car towed in immediately. I rode in with the tow truck and they gave me a ride home. My car did need a new transmission and they were able to handle that as well as financing. I just got my car back and it is running better than it ever has. I am a customer for life.

Felt my gears jerk, so I called and setup appointment with Phil. After talking with him, had tech drive vehicle, and disclosed that I recently had transmission oil change. Martin determined that I just needed additional transmission fluid as Dodge trucks require to be filled while in neutral, which I didnt know. These people are stand up professionals, and really appreciate their transparency and customer service. I WILL be going back if I ever have a transmission problem.

Great place to have automotive work done. My check engine light came on and I brought my car here. The manager Carl was very nice and extremely professional. He really took the time to explain their diagnostic procedure and how it helps to identify the problem which will tell them what needed to be done. After checking my car they were able to tell me how much to fix it and how long it would take to repair. His technicians did a super job and I got it back when it was promised.

I thought this would be a good shop to go to because the ratings are decent. Be careful theyll lie to your face here. I had my car diagnosed and they told me my maf sensor would need to be replaced and quoted me 1000+ for the job. I asked why so much for a sensor and they said the sensor is hard to get to and they would need to remove my bumper to access it. Im not a dummy I know the maf sensor is easily accessible right next to the battery. They want over $1000 for a 5 minute job. Dont deal with these shady people.

While trying to speak with Phillip Guidry, he hung up on me. Perhaps the man never learned manners. Then, I read a 1-star review about Philip using the N-word about a customer (retired veteran) having no money to one of his coworkers when he thought he hung up the phone but didnt. Perhaps Phillip never learned how to properly use a phone, or perhaps he never learned how to be a decent human being.

I originally took my car to the factory to be repaired. I was given a quote of over 10,000 worth of repairs. I could not afford that and I started talking with AAMCO. I was about to give up on repairing the vehicle but Sean Kinnard who is the service manager assured me that he would only repair what is required and that it would not cost what was quoted by the factory. Sean was very helpful in giving me a status every time I called to ask how the repairs were going. The repairs ended up costing me a third of what the factory wanted to charge me and the car runs great. I would definitely recommend AAMCO to my family and friends because of the great customer service provided by their staff.

These guys really do value their customers and I am so appreciative to have met them. They went out of their way to help us out and I will definitely be a loyal customer after this experience, thank you so much!!!

Went here because the lot I bought my BMW from gave me 5 free oil changes. I went to get the oil changed and filter done, seemed easy enough. We set an appt 2 weeks beforehand, get there 15 min prior, and at first they said we came to the wrong place (innacurate, I tripled checked), right before we closed the door behind us they called out saying it was the right place, but they were busy, asking if we can reschedule for tomorrow (situations come up, not a big deal). The next day I get there 15 min prior again, and were rude from the beginning. Took around 40 min, and it seems as if they made up an amount to charge; $60 even, but that was fine as I had plans later in the day and didn’t have time to go somewhere else. All is done, I get in my car, and not a mile down the road an alert comes up saying a minimum of a quart is still needed. I go back, tell them the alert, they just ask for my keys, fill up in the parking lot, and give them back. Needless to say, when I’m back from work, I’m just re doing it myself because I have no idea what they did right and what they did wrong. My 90 year old grandfather could do a better job that who ever runs this place, and he’s no longer with us. RIP.And if the manager or whoever reads this feels the need to type up a response, I’ll save you the time. DONT. Yes it was the 5960 location here in SA. No, I don’t care for apologies when a simple task can’t be performed. And no I will definitely not go back there.

This place is a rip off!! I took my car here cause they said they can tell me what’s wrong with my car for free. So they put it on the machine, ran some test and after 45 mins comeback to me and tells me it’s going to cost $210.00 starting just to keep my car to run more test and to tell me EXACTLY what was wrong my car. I looked at this man like he was NUTS! no sir I don’t think so. I took my car to Matas transmission off military and Pleasanton and do u want to know in one day this professional transmission shop let me know it was only a relay. The cost was HALF of what AAMCO was trying to charge me and that was to LOOK at my car for further testing. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place unless you have money to throw away then this place is looking for you. Anyone just to RIP OFF!! I’m a single mom, I don’t have money to throw away, when I work extremely hard for the little bit I earn. The LAST thing I need to be ripped off by a mechanic. This place is number ONE for a rip off. The south side of San Antonio has plenty of transmission shops that are honest with their work and take pride in what they do. And most certainly will NOT RIP YOU OFF that’s for sure. Called ahead letting them know i would like them to take a look at my Chevy Cavalier since its been having some overheating issues and my transmission doesnt have a dipstick so i need a specialist to tell me if im low. I showed up and spoke to Phil, he said he will look at it and let me know if im low on fluid. Soon enough he called me over showed me how to check my fluid without a dipstick and also added the amount of fluid i needed free of charge. He also let me know im going to need to change my oil pan in the near future since thats whats been leaking. Great Service and i will be coming back here again, Phil is a good guy and seems like he knows how to run the place!

I have had the most amazing experience at AAMCO located at 5960 NW Loop 410 with Timm!!!!! As we all know automotive maintenance is a necessity. The brakes on my vehicle went out. So of course I had to take care of that problem immediately. I went to another automotive shop where they didnt even look at my vehicle they just threw an outrageous figure at me. So of course I didnt leave my vehicle there. I was passing up a advertisement that read free towing. I called and spoke to Timm. He let me know what needed to be done. I had my vehicle towed to the shop where they took very good care of me. I am very pleased with the staff and how I was treated. I will definitely be back. Anybody who needs automotive repair come here. They will do u right and they are fairly priced. Great job guys!!!!

My transmission failed. I was recommended to this location by a friend who has been using them for years. My vehicle is used for commercial purposes and i am in the automotive business myself. Sean, the store manager, understood how bad i need my vehicle, and overdelivered. He worked well past the store hours and opened the shop early the next morning. He ended up giving me my vehicle 1 day before expected. He took the time to explain what was going on, and even threw in a complimentary service. I was completely blown away with the professionalism. My vehicle will never go to another shop. Since then, i have taken my other vehicles for general things from brakes to tune ups. Highly recommended and now i know it is family owned and operated.

WARNING!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! These guys are typical repair shop CROOKS. They will rip you off. They will claim that you can bring your car for a free estimate. Once you drop it off they will call and say that they need to dig deeper and they need several hundreds off dollars just to give you an estimate. Once you agree to a repair price they will call the next day telling you that the price is now much higher. I just came back from trying to pick up my vehicle, but the price that they are trying to charge me is not what we agreed to over the phone, and the guy that I spoke to is conveniently not there. My choices were: pay the new sum or come back tomorrow. Never mind that I had to leave work early, make arrangements and drive across the town. Carl C. was arrogant and treated me like I was bothering him when he told me that I cant pick it up unless I pay this new sum or until the guy that gave me the price over the phone comes back tomorrow. He didnt even try calling him, and started raising his voice at me when I voiced my concern. The guy that kept lying about the price is Timm T. The initial quote that they gave me over the phone more than doubled even though the problem didnt change other that minor details. Especially if you are a woman or a person who doesnt have an in-depth car knowledge they WILL take advantage of you.

I brought my car here on a Wednesday when my cooling system blew out on the way home from work. I was put under the impression that being a very simple fix it would not take more than a couple hours and MAYBE until the next day before it was fixed. Boy was I wrong. When I called the shop on Thursday I was informed that my car had not even been looked at yet. I urged the shop that I needed to have my car for work as I am in the military and I cannot afford to not have transportation to work. I continued to call throughout the day as the manager kept telling me she would call me back and never did. At the end of the day she informed me that she found the leak that I had already located, and that she suggested an engine diagnostic that would cost about 200 dollars to ensure that there were no underlying problems. She also informed me that the 180 dollars would go towards parts and labor. After reluctantly authorizing this transaction I proceeded to wait until the next day for answers. They did not come. When I called at noon that day to ask how it was coming along I was told that my car hadnt even been looked at yet. I being to lose my temper with her and started asking how it has thus far taken her 3 days to make progress even halfway through. When I called friday night asking her to order the parts she gave me a guarantee that I would have my car back Saturday before close of business and promptly went back on that word less than an hour later. After callingSaturday morning I decided to take step in there at opening time. to see what was going on. she attempted to inform me that the pressure test had indicated a blown head gasket and that for a mere 600 dollars I could have it sent out to be looked at. thats not including more parts and labor. Little did she realize, I actually know my stuff about cars and know that a pressure test can only be run on a head with the head unmounted from the car which they had not touched the car long enough to remove one bolt from the head. At this point she continued telling me that she was trying to price the part for three more hours before finally my brother referred me elsewhere. I was obligated to pay the 180 dollars for the diagnostic that i still doubt was even run and when I had it towed to another place It took them an hour and cost me 35 dollars to have my car fixed. DO NOT go to this shop. If you have priorities or a job to get to they do not care and will take their sweet time getting around to their customers. I will be shortly be filing a formal grievance with the better business bureau as well taking this up with my chain of command to have this shop blacklisted for the military so that none of my coworkers are robbed by these people like I was.

My experience with Aamco was excellent. They did a great job of explaining everything that needed to be done and topped it off with a transmission that shifts better than when it was new. I will recommend everyone I know to this shop.

Great experience and will be back :)Phil helped me out a lot and the repair was excellent. I had my water pump replaced.They also showed me what was wrong and explained it to me very thoroughly.

That Ni**er doesnt have any money, is what a sales man named Phil said to another employee after he spoke with my father on the phone. My father is an ex Army staff sergeant and disabled vet who was just looking to get a quote over the phone. When this man who was either upset or frustrated thought he hung up the phone said what was on his mind. Theyre no other words I have for this company other than disgraceful.

Great place to take your vehicle. Very professional and friendly people. They definitely know their stuff. They have made me an AAMCO customer for life!

My dad recommended that I go here to get my car checked out and Im glad I did! Timm Tyner, the center manager took great care of me. He kept me informed about status of my car and educated me about my vehicle and how certain parts work together. That is something you rarely get. Most times, technicians just talk at you and not to you. I felt like a person whos problems mattered and not just another number. Thank you for ALL of your help
